I want to like this game more then I do, I like the concept of a deck builder but mixing with a 3rd person combat system seems to just not work here. The 3rd person combat is just not as flushed out as the deck builder rogue like mechanics, yet it is supposed to be the center focus of the game. Namely the 3rd person fighting mechanics are not even up to the level of ryse son of rome.
The Hand of Fate is a game.
this game has the most frustrating and stupid rng of all time, if you think xcom is unfair with its percentages than this game will make you furious. I have never failed a 75% win rate so often it just saps all the fun out of the game when you are constantly disenfranchised by every single die roll, and card draw sucking more ass than a hooker
Hand of Fate 2 does a lot of what Hand of Fate did, but way better. The lore is expanded, there is a companion system in place, and the world beyond the playing board is shown much clearer through the cards and events. This also features the return of the original Dealer from Hand of Fate, with his snarky comments, congratulatory notes and so on. Overall, I think Hand of Fate 2 is a large improvement over the first game... however, I'd also be lying if I didn't think it still held some problems.
Sadly, while the combat has become more dynamic, it's still a pretty repetitive slog. If you build your character to be a Thief-killing machine only to stumble into a Northmen combat event, you won't get combat where you're desperately unprepared and on your backfoot, you're just going to have your combat lengthened by five times as you slowly chip away at the enemy. While the combat system of Batman Arkham is a nice one, I find that Hand of Fate 2 cannot mesh it well with the RPG elements, resulting in less a difficulty spike and more a length spike.
Secondly, the minigames. One thing that I like is that unlike DnD, or the more brutal Darkest Dungeon, you do not fully depend on the random number generator to pass events. Even if it is quite difficult, the Card Roulette, the Card Shuffle and the Metronome can be mastered through timing, reflexes and attention... But there's also the dice game, which is fully reliant on RNG. Sure, you can stack the board by using characters and equipment to help with dice, but compared to the other minigames, the fact that this one fully depends on RNG makes me wanna rip my hair out.
There's also several adventures which WILL be very frustrating, be it through repetitive crashes or simple bs difficulty.
However, despite its flaws, I still think this is a sequel which improves basically everything from the original. I recommend.
Awesome. I had no idea what this game was but I really enjoy it. Your an adventurer with a dungeon master and using a deck you go on a quest. The cards effect everything and you unlock new cards by doing certain things. Theyre also buffs like every time you roll a dice, this happens. My favorite part is easily the masked guy. His voice is amazing and I love the writing of the game. I enjoyed everything so far. Also has Dark Souls-like combat. So far after playing it for an hour, I highly recommend!
Good atmospheric game.
Its exactly what it needed to be. Its Hand of Fate but with a little more of this and a little more of that. I gotta recommend, but i should also recommend a second and third controller when you throw the first one across the room.
Good game.
I really wanted to like this game. I had it on my wishlist for a while and had read good things about it. But I hate the combat system. It feels really clunky and unforgiving. It is a shame, because I really like the rest of the game and its card-based story system.

"This may be the most important post you’ll ever read because it provides a simple explanation about why our world is being destroyed, by design.
I’m not antisem itic nor a N azi. I’m simply a former hacker with great analytical skills who understands what’s happening in the world.
At the end of this post I will quote from a world domination plan. You will recognize the truth immediately because that’s what’s currently happening in the world. Today’s reality suggests that this plan is real.
When you do your own research you will learn that the origin of this plan was discredited and that the alleged creators have nothing to do with it. But who was the person providing the key evidence?
It was allen dulles. The man who raised money from US industrialists to fund Ad olf Hi tler, his Na zi party and his war. The man who later became the director of the CIA during Kennedy and the head of The Warren Commission that investigated the Kennedy Incident. Why would anybody believe a man with such a questionable character?
The protocols of the elders of zion have unquestionably borrowed ideas from several authors but you can say that about most important writings throughout history. It was called a fabrication and is one of the first uses of the term ‘conspiracy theory’.
Why do zionists have a massive over-representation in the media, politics, banking, and world-affairs? How did such a small community get to dominate all the centers of power and information?
Why can isreal ignore UN resolutions, international-law, and commit a genocide in Ga za, to standing ovations in the US Congress? Why is isreal acting like it is above the law seemingly without any fear of consequences.
Read some of the alleged zi onist world domination plan below and compare it with reality. Is all of this just a coincidence?
“Our power will be more invincible than any other, because it will remain invisible until the moment when it has gained such strength that no cunning can any longer undermine it.”
“We shall absolutely control the media, so that not a single announcement will ever reach the public without our control. In this way we shall have a sure triumph over our opponents, for without the media, they are helpless.”
“We will distract the brainless heads with vain conceptions, fantastic theories, rotten amusement, games, and filthy passions, so that they will be unable to use what intellect they have. They will never suspect that they have been stage managed by us.”
“We shall establish huge monopolies, so that all will go to ruin when the political smash-up comes. We must, at all cost, deprive them of their lands, we must lower wages, and raise the prices of all necessities of life.”
“We shall create an economic crisis, which will stop dealings in all exchanges and bring industry to a standstill. We shall throw onto the streets whole mobs of workers, simultaneously, all over the world, who will rush to loot property and delight to shed blood.”
“In our government, besides ourselves, there must only be the mass of enslaved people, a few billionaires devoted entirely to us, police, and soldiers. To do this we must create chaos and hostilities, and we must use all deceit, treachery and falseness, possible. Our greatest weapon is the media.”
“We shall establish one king over all of earth who will annihilate all causes of discord, such as borders, nationalities, religion, state debts, etc., and get peace and quiet which cannot be secured in any other way. To attain our ends we must foment trouble in all countries, utterly exhaust all of humanity with hatred, struggle, envies, torture, starvation, and diseases, so that the people will be forced to take refuge in our complete sovereignty.”
“Our master card has been, is, and shall be, the destruction of all privileges, on the ruins of which we shall set up our absolute autocracy.”

Specifically, this is what has been done, using video-games to brain-wash, indoctrinate, demoralize, and fractionalize, young(er) people who would otherwise be focused-on family and community, is IN-YOUR-FACE, now, and is openly-known to be happening with the games we buy from Steam, and others.

""How the tables have turned in the past decade. If you were involved at the inception of the culture war around a decade ago then you probably remember an abrupt and distinct change in popular media from 2015 to 2016. There was a surge of far-left and feminist propaganda in movies, television, commercials and even video games that was highly aggressive, perhaps even militant. Some people spoke out at the time and questioned the motives behind the trend, only to be smacked down by angry mobs of activists and corporate journalists with accusations of “conspiracy theory” and “bigotry.”
In other words, their claim was that you were not seeing what you thought you were seeing. There was no feminist agenda. There was no gay or trans agenda. There was no socialist messaging. It was only in your head.
If there is one rule that encompasses all political endeavors, it is this: If you have to hide your intentions and lie about your goals when trying to spread your ideology, then something is probably very wrong with your ideology. This is exactly the problem inherent in the attempt to spread woke doctrine – Activists and provocateurs never ask anyone if they want to hear about woke ideas; they seek to force everyone to see and hear woke ideas, to the point that people cannot escape the messaging.
Even more insulting is the fact that even though most of these activists claim to be fans of the media they target, they are usually discovered to be frauds. Woke ideologues have little sincere interest in nostalgia, movie making, video games, comic books, etc. They only care about these properties because they see them as a vehicle to be co-opted, infected and dominated. Leftists know well that if they control pop culture they can control the thinking of the next generation."...
Firstly, if you liked Hand of Fate 1, it's like that game but with more going on. If you haven't played Hand of Fate 1, highly recommend you give that a go first, however it is by no means required to play this game.
Secondly, this game demands a fair amount of time invested to really get the most out of this game, now even if you dont got alot of time on hand, you can pause and resume any given run at any time, but you will need to invest quite a bit of time. I personally went for 100% on this game but burnt out after reaching endless mode achivements. This game is alot of fun prior to that, and endless is in no way bad, but I've had my fill.
Gameplay wise this is a roguelike deckbuilder, requires a fair amount of future planning balanced against how tryhard you feel like being in combat. The Stories are well written, the dealer is fun to listen too (even if at times he can drag on while you're trying to read the story), and the core gameplay loop will have time slipping away from you before you know it.
If you are planning for 100%, Godspeed buddy, Endless is no joke.
This game is kinda good, but people might find it boring if they're don't like this type of game. I love how they combine deckbuilder game with hack n slash combat rather than turn based which is boring
I really enjoy this style of game and story-telling. But I landed a 1 in 4 chance of failure 9 times in a row, the first one being the actual tutorial choice. I'm supremely unlucky and it soured my desire to play.
For those that are not, I recommend.
I didn't care that the first game had generic writing because there wasn't much of it. The host quips about fleshing out narratives from the first game but the writing isn't any better, there's just a lot more of it and the game draws more attention to it. You have to click through paragraphs of text every time you start a game, campaigns have dialogue trees full of empty and meaningless choices, and victory often requires you pay attention to details buried in the word avalanche. Especially since this is a game built around replaying the same few challenges over and over, it really grates having to decipher a randomly-generated murder mystery over and over by grilling people about their favorite foods and solving timing minigames. Even the Endless mode is composed of the same handful of generic plots that you have to flip through every time you progress.
The original Hand of Fate was a lean, addictive experience. The sequel tries to expand on this but bloats it into something tepid and inert. I have so many cards to unlock and stories to complete, but don't particularly care to because there is tedium and frustration that wears you down every step of the way.
Just as good, if not better, as the first one. 80% off is a steal.
This is a really cool game with a really interesting concept but I have a pc that can run this game at quadruple the fps of my monitors hz and this game no matter what is done stutters it is infuriating, ive scoured all over online just to find out several other players having the same issue, I cant recommend this because these issues will probably never be fixed (Found out for me I cant use a controller and have to use keyboard to avoid stutter will change after more controllers are tested)
Is it a tabletop RPG or an arena battler? Yes. Yes it is.
extrwmely frusgrating when the mission strrts but you already feel you dont have a chance.
divertido
