Stonerid – Rating: 7/10
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (7/10)
Overview:
Stonerid is a 2D platformer that combines traditional platforming elements with an intriguing mechanic of switching between two parallel worlds. Developed by Enitvare, the game tasks players with navigating through 32 levels while solving puzzles, avoiding traps, and defeating monsters. The core gameplay centers on using the differences between the two worlds to progress. Although it presents a challenging and unique experience, the high difficulty and repetitive elements may deter some players.
Detailed Breakdown:
Gameplay Mechanics:
The most unique aspect of Stonerid is its dual-world mechanic, where players need to shift between two parallel worlds in real-time. This introduces fresh challenges and puzzles, as players must solve problems by understanding the contrast between the two worlds. While this idea is innovative, it can also be overwhelming at times, particularly for players who prefer more straightforward platformers. The game includes 32 levels and 31 bonus stages, providing substantial content, though the difficulty spikes can be frustrating
Visuals and Art Style:
The pixel art style is charming but feels dated. While it has an undeniable retro appeal, it might not be as appealing to players used to modern graphics. The environments are diverse and colorful, but the pixel art lacks the polish seen in other indie titles with similar themes. However, the art design suits the atmosphere of the game well, giving it a unique identity.
Soundtrack:
One of the standout features of Stonerid is its soundtrack. The music is atmospheric, with a moody tone that complements the mysterious and perilous environments. The music enhances the gameplay, helping to immerse players in the game’s world.
Difficulty and Challenge:
Stonerid is a challenging game, and this is where it divides opinion. The difficulty curve is steep, and solving puzzles often requires quick reflexes and precise timing. This makes the game enjoyable for hardcore platformer fans, but it can be frustrating for casual players. The learning curve is not for the faint of heart, and some may find the difficulty a deterrent.
Replayability:
The 31 bonus levels provide significant replay value, especially for those who enjoy additional challenges. However, due to the repetitive nature of the core mechanics, players who are not into high-difficulty platformers may not find the game as engaging in the long run.
Pros:
🎮 Innovative Gameplay Mechanic (Dual worlds)
🌍 Diverse Environments & Bonus Levels (5 different lands, 31 bonus stages)
🎶 Atmospheric Soundtrack (Complementing the gameplay)
🏆 Extra Challenges (For hardcore players)
Cons:
⏳ High Difficulty (Can be frustrating for casual players)
🔄 Repetitive Gameplay (Gameplay can feel similar across levels)
🕹️ Niche Appeal (Best suited for hardcore platformer fans)
⚙️ Outdated Visuals (The pixel art may seem old-fashioned)
Final Thoughts:
Stonerid stands out for its creative dual-world mechanic, offering a fresh take on traditional platforming. However, its difficulty and niche appeal make it best suited for players who enjoy tough challenges and are fans of retro-style platformers. The game has its flaws, such as dated visuals and repetitive mechanics, but its atmospheric soundtrack and bonus content make it a rewarding experience for those who stick with it.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (7/10)
Stonerid is a frustrating platformer with clunky controls, difficult puzzles, and an unpolished experience that makes it hard to enjoy.

and u will not feel lost ,its quite fun.
rating:8/10
Concept was cool but you pretty much die the entire time. Trying to land a jump and end up dying, so you try keep jumping and switching universe till you sucessfully make it alive. That was the biggest downfall. Could not enjoy the game
Although this game has some things going for it, I can't really recommend it. The graphics and sound are fine but the gameplay has nothing original about it and the level design is uninspiring. The biggest problem I have with this game is that the hazards clash with the scenery which results in frequent deaths which you don't see coming. I had some fun with it though but couldn't be bothered to finish it.
Good game idea. Not bad Story.
Pretty cool game. Amazing puzzles with magnificent gameplay while listening some relaxing level tunes.
Mixed reviews because it was too hard for people. Then don't play on hard.
Excellent game, good secrets, diverse environments. Just your standard super mario platforming with a neat dual world twist.
I like the artwork and the sound track but this game is difficult.... But shit, it was 50 cents. 90% off coupon ftw.
Hey everyone and this is my review about the game!
This is a Puzzle platforming game.
Interface/Menu/Settings
There are 3 save slots.
You can play this game with a xbox controller.
You can play this game on fullscreen mode or windowed mode.
You are able to change the Music volume (+5 or -5 every change).
You are able to change the Sound Volume (+5 or -5 every change).
You are able to change the Ambience Volume (+5 or -5 every change).
About the game.
You are playing as a tree that has the ability to change dimensions. Whenever you are changing dimensions you are able to reach other area's and surfaces. The "Dimension tree" as i call it. is faster, jump higher and is able to climb so ladders. The normal tree is slow and can't jump very high but is stronger to defeat enemies.. But you have to change dimensions from time to time. Not only for completing a level but also finding some collectables or other resources. Collecting all the resources will reward you in score points.
You are able to skip Cutscenes.
Music is calm.
Graphics and scenery are fine.
There is Easy/Medium and hard mode.
There is a tutorial (Not required to do, but recommended).
Pressing the Start/Escape button, will show you the controls.
There are secret area's
Other things.
Game is pretty difficult and im not talking about the difficulty alone.
After dying too much, you can't be arsed anymore about those collectables. They only give score points anyway.

I Give this game a 7/10
This is not a bad game by any means, but the switching between 2 dimensions can result a little complicated at times.
Very well done platformer, excellent for the price, really challenging though, got stuck on the first level. Did it eventually. 10/10 would listen to creepy music and kill bushes again.
Great concept but in my opinion requires you to switch universes and die over and over to get just a tiny bit farther than you were. You spend most the game dying repeatedly to get a little bit further than the last time.
Imagine a platformer where it's easier to walk through spikes and lose health than to actually perform the necessary jumping puzzles to cross over them. This is that game. This game was about as fun as listening to hardcore Texas republicans debate the merits of non-traditional marriage.
Pros:
-It makes you feel better about your own amateur game design skills.
Cons:
-Pretty sure it was made with GameMaker, so you shouldn't pay more than a few cents for it.
-It's not fun.
This game is broken. It required me to teleport between two dimensions without any preview of the dimension I was about to teleport to. This meant I inadvertently teleported to a bed of spikes or missed a platform and fell to the bottom of the level purely because I wasn't psychic. The developers should know better than to make the player blindly jump from dimension to dimension. With games that have done the dual dimension mechanic correctly, like Guacamelee, there is absolutely no reason to ever try this game.
Beyond that, the jump mechanic is very awkward and the animations are very bland. Even if it's on sale for half a buck, save yourself the hassle and stay away. Stonerid and Guacamelee aren't necessarily similar, but play Guacamelee instead if you haven't already because that game is phenomenal.
Stonerid is a pretty simple and classic platform game, the gameplay is based on a world with 2 parallel dimensions where you can switch from one to another to proceed in the level. While the idea is pretty good, there are a few bugs which can negatively influence the gameplay and overall experience, I still recommend this game since its really low price and few hours of nice gameplay that it offers...
Pros:
+ Really nice graphics
+ Decent sound effects/music
+ Enjoyable background story
+ Xbox360 controller support
+ Trading cards & Achievements
+ Very low price
Cons:
- The parallel dimensions feature is not original
- Some bugs can be annoying (Checkpoints disappearing from a level, difficulty setting not keeping your choice...)
- Movement mechanics could be improved
- While in-game compatibility with controllers is great, menu navigation isn't well implemented
6.5/10
Classic platformer, not very original, but worth the really low price.
cannot controlling move and jump together.that's make me die many time in this game and make me boring because of that.but at least this game have trading card
This is an osome game.. Just buy it and enjooy every second of it.. I got the game fr $ 0.49. Its a steaal fr dis price
The lack of options in the pause menu is a little short sighted. Although I don't see any reason to really need it. The puzzles are hard yet forgiving to new players if you feel like its too easy you can crank it up to normal and experience the puzzles with a new level of persition. Although the story isn't the most complex the puzzles are relaxing and not overwhlemed by sound.
with a 90% sale I bought this on a whim, without doing research first to see if its actually good and has rebindable controls. It has neither and the current keyboard config is, while not being the worst, is pretty bad. The game itself seems acceptable but it suffers from the performance issues that braid, bridge, and schein have on windows 8. Finally, there is a serious problem with the dimention switching which has been highlighted by other reviews. A similar game called fractured soul seems to have avoided that problem by allowing both dimentions to be displayed at the same time in splitscreen.
Very unique and beautiful graphics. Easy to learn controlls and very cool idea for a game. $5 is a good price for this game. This game will not waste your time. and idk y people put this in the comments but its a platfromer, indie, action, puzzle game. you should look at the summary
If you're way into platformers, can never get enough, and have exhausted all moderately amusing options, then you might consider looking at StoneRid. Otherwise I would pass on the experience. Loose controls, meaningless story, and bland design leave a distinct lack of impression with this Giana Sisters meats MeatBoy difficulty platformer. It's competent enough, but very meh.
