The fast that the bottom of the barrel requirement of "you can jump and it won't be messed up when you expect it to happen" doesn't work ruins this. Level three your ability to jump predictably shuts off. I don't know why; I don't know if it's only that level, I don't know if there's something that obviously I'm doing wrong here, I don't know if my frames are too high, I don't know if it's intentional. It was equally ruined on keyboard+mouse and on controller.
Other than that? Sure, seems like a game. The pictures of the future levels look like a game I guess. Be nice if I could play them.

Puzzle platformer with terrible platforming
One of the most bland and basic puzzle games. Definitely not made to last either, seemingly the game glitches nowadays and if you're not externally capping your game to 60fps jumping is borderline impossible as the extra frames seems to affect the physics or game tick timings.
Is it worth the 10.29GBP it is, definitely not you can finish the main puzzle set in around an hour or so and they're not particularly interesting. Is it worth the around 1GBP it goes on sale on sometimes? Sure, just definitely not at full price
This is a tough one. Polarity is not necessarily a bad game, nor a bad effort from the developers. It has some fun puzzles, the simple aesthetics help to emphasise what you need to do and the controls work well. These positives are clearly inspired by Portal, but that's not a bad thing. As a creative person, making your own version of something existing is a valid way to find your own path. Iteration is not theft and this is clear example of that.
However. While I don't normally like to review games based on price, since the size of one's wallet often steers one's sensibility in that regard, in this case it's unavoidable. If my evaluation was only based on the time spent in the game, I would happily recommend it. It would be a good addition to a game jam, for instance. But for the asking price, Polarity is just not good enough. My hour (!) of playtime includes the entire single player campaign + replaying of a handful of levels. More importantly, the quality of that hour was not high enough. The puzzles are not refined, clever nor polished enough compared to its competitors. There is no story to speak of, no real twists in the formula and it's also not much of a challenge.
Basically, "not enough" is the best way to describe Polarity. If this game was priced at a buck or less, then it might be reasonable. If you ever see it priced that low and want to throw away an hour, then it might be worth it. In any other case, I just can't see a justification to get this game. I support it as a creative endeavour, but as a product it's overpriced and underbaked. Better give it a pass.
Worst jumping experience I have had in any game ever
Fun little "Portal-like" hahah. Great with a co-op partner!
Polarity is a waste of time, please, regardless of the cost avoid this game. No hate towards the developer, I'm assuming they didn't have much experience, but the jump in this game only works maybe 20% of the time. This would be a less pressing issue if the "puzzles" weren't 90% platforming. So over half my play time is running up a ramp over and over again because the developer couldn't implement jumping into the game. I almost beat it within 45 minutes before ragequiting, so definitely not worth the $13 asking price. Insane.
Giving a thumbs up but WOULD NOT RECOMMEND spending $12 on this game. I let this game sit in my library for over 7 years before I finally played it, and I didn't miss much. For a game that came out in 2014 this is not very impressive compared to similar games like Portal & QUBE. I beat the game in an hour and then beat the "bonus levels" in another hour. But honestly, it would have taken me a lot less time than that if the mechanics of this game worked properly. The "jump" button wasn't jumping half the time which led me to fall and have to start climbs all over again. Rather frustrating, but maybe you wouldn't have the same bad luck. Either way, wait for this game to go on sale for like $2, that's about what it's worth by today's standards.
