childhood game
i loved this game as a kid, now seeing it on steam, i had to pick it back up
the graphics are so nice and, while the game has problems like clipping through platforms, it was still fun to revisit my favorite game when i was growing up
(also i left the game on all night by accident thats why i have 13 hours on it)
the nostalgia is crazy i played this game all the time when i was younger
this game really doesn't deserve the mixed rating, I loved every level
Paper Monsters Recut is a steam videogame featuring severed vertebra level design with side scrolling specialist array support defined to a charcoal blast of fun styles...i really smiled crookedly in dynamite shrugged capsules drained with a still figure as a champion boinks with loaded makeshift crib leftovers...i give this game a 10/10 an entirely understandable released chain with creativity to some aspects love the burrito master
I really wanted to like this game. Unfortunately, it just wouldn't give me the chance. The graphics are some of the most adorable I have ever seen, and that is what initially caught my eye.
I came across several bugs such as, every time anything loads it drops you to the desktop for a few moments. Annoying, but it's not game breaking. Unfortunately, some of the other bugs are. Sometimes when you miss a jump and fall down a hole..you just keep falling until you manually restart the level. But the worst one, is when you jump and should land on a platform..only to fall through it instead. Or how about when you are standing somewhere, not even touching the controls..and you fall through whatever you were standing on. If I have to restart from a checkpoint for missing a jump, that's on me; but when the game itself makes you have to restart because it just freaks out.. over and over. It just sucks out whatever fun there was. And as far as fun goes, I honestly didn't get to experience much (for obvious reasons). It's really just your typical SMB jumper/collect coins (buttons). For the cute factor alone I want to recommend it, but save your money because they already got mine.

This is a cute platforming game with a paper mache type of graphics. However, there are no main changes to the character, no power ups, it just jumps and double jumps. Sometimes, it can get a bit boring, although there are an number of stage/theme changes. It's not a difficult platformer, and there's some sort of replayability to collect all collectibles. Still, there's almost no action on this, just pure family friendly platforming.

Paper Monster Recut recut harkens back to a simpler time. That time was when every game wanted to be the next Super Mario. The is not inherently a bad thing. There's monsters to jump on coins errr....buttons and paper clips to collect. A very nostalgic blend of running, jumping and discovering hidden areas. The contolrs are tight and sometimes require precision jumps but hey it's a platformer, right? The look is a blend of Sonic's Green Hill Zone, Super Mario level 1-1 and Little Big Planet. It's simple, it's charming and it's like your favorite pair of jeans. Sure they have some holes and the legs are fraying at the cuffs but they fit and they still lookl preety cool. Paper Monsters Recut is pure, simple fun.
Obviously you can't play this game unless you have a gamepad!!! Genius developers make a game and publish on a major PC distribution platform however they don't give the option to navigate using your keyboard. Save your money for another game...
Fun game with a few references to older games as well as great controls. Too bad it's only 20 levels or so and the customization of the character is missing (Which is available in the Android version). Achievements would've greatly improved the gameplay experience. But anyhow, it's still worth the few bucks.
Played this game previously on the Nintendo Wii U and I can say on PC it fixes on everything wrong with that version.
Problem #1. Loading Screens - on PC the game starts up in a mere 3- 4 seconds. Wii U it takes almost 15 seconds.. even being at 720p while 1080p on PC.
Problem #2. Better Controller on PC - The Xbox 360 Controller is a little tighter than the Wii U Gamepad does in some parts But if you use the Pro Controller while playing it feels better.
Problem #3. Glitches on Wii U - Certain very weird glitches on the Wii U version happened to me alot. One of them was when touching a certain part of the sky leaves would be falling. Leaves only fall from a tree in the game but there was no tree insight or close enough. PC Has no such problems when you go through a tree leaves fall and looks good.
Problem #4. Cheaper on PC than Wii U - PC version only costs (as of 10-26-2014) $6.79 while on Wii U it charges you another $1.00 for tax while still being $7.99 so over $9.00 for the game. Nintendo please stop charging for TAX on a game Steam Sony and Microsoft do not charge TAX on anything on there stores please stop charging for TAX.
Otherwise fun game very easy but anyone can play it and think of Little Big Planet and Paper Mario mashed together.
