You take on the role of Nikola Tesla: world's greatest inventor. No big burden right? When a snooping Thomas Edison accidentally damages your most recent invention, Tesla accidentally opens a quantum space tear. Oh dear. Now, you must set out across country, city and laboratory to confront your nemesis and fix this broken world! Blending classic 2D platforming with puzzle solving, unlockable inventions, 1800's era-Undead and randomly generating level design... and Tesla is in for a bit of challenge...
- Inventions + Science. Find new ways to beat puzzles as you progress. Magnifying transmitters, electric-powered hover platform thingies, remote controls, Tesla Coils and even... the deadly and legendary Peace-Ray!
- Pigeons. Yes, there are unlockable Pigeons to aid you on your adventure. Yes, you can name them.
- Efficiency. The less efficiently you are able to solve puzzles, the more likely zombies will spawn around you. Use your inventions wisely or expect things to get even more complicated...
- Randomization! RNG Or 'random number generation'. Get some re-playability from this platformer with levels randomly generating sectors, puzzles and environments as you play.
- Easy-Breezy or Nail-Biting Hard! Take advantage of unlocking levels & mid-level checkpoints or kick it up a challenge with Hard Mode, featuring: increased enemy spawn rates, no checkpoints and perma-death. Do you have it in you? Do you?

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

This game is just so bad... The unpredictability of zombies and level layouts just leads to frustration rather than fun, especially since the check points are so far back that you sometimes have to play the same section so many damn times.
I thought it was a small fun game, but in the end it was just badly cobbled together frustration with a bad story.
Main problem here are the controls which really haven't been development enough. Controls here are something like thrown together in a hurry after rest of it has been done. I'm not too keen on the idea of procedurally generated levels either though..
Tesla Breaks the World falls victim to the one thing that ruins a platformer.
Shoddy controls.
That's pretty much it. It appealed to me so much - because who doesn't love Nikola Tesla - but I found myself unable to play through more than the first few levels because of the frustratingly laggy and underpowered directional control.
It's pretty much beyond a patch by the devs now, so give it a miss.
I wanted to like this game I really did anything that shows TAE for the true monster he was is great. Unfortunately, the pompous narration that is not an ally the confusing cutscenes the lack of being able to look down to see if there is a platform and the controls that give the option to use gamepad but keep the control scheme in the game stuck at keyboard were not helpful. the checkpoints were hard. The animation is beautiful the concept nice but the execution is awful.
Unfortunately I have to join the 33 others so far to say don't buy. And absolutely not at $10. There are a lot better done games that are cheaper.
I was excited to get this game when I found it but much to my bitter disappointment, no matter what I do, I cannot fire one of those hover car things on level one, I have tried every button, installed and uninstalled the game and nothing....sorry but I do not reccommend this one
On sale for $2, it seemed like even a game with less than stellar reviews would be worth a shot, and how do you go wrong with Tesla?
God how I was wrong. Right off the bat, the game has no intuitive feel to it. Most of the few levels I could deal with was fighting zombies, but the way you do so is that you effectively grab one zombie in your gun, then shoot that zombie at another. There's a whole realm of issues with that. First of all, there's a long animation of the zombies coming out of the ground before they can be interacted with. Then there's that when you do use this, the zombies bounce straight back at you so if you're remotely close to the zombie you're shooting, you end up getting hurt by your own shot. "That can easily be avoided by not being close to the zombie" you say. Well, the field of view is so small, and so much of this involves narrow platforms, that that is an incredibly difficult thing to pull off. Plus, there's a max range for the gun, so it limits you to relatively close quarters combat with something that is distinctly not close quarters suitable.
The view is also a huge issue because it means it is extremely difficult to see where you're trying to go, especially leaping from ledges, as a large part of the time, there are jumps that one makes just presuming there will be something to land on when you get there. This could be forgivable if not for the fact that it seems like the terrain is semi-randomly generated, and so each time you die, you end up in a new landscape so you face the same issues time and time again, rather than at least being able to learn the particulars of the level.
The game has, theoretically, checkpoints, but with how poor the level design is, it feels like there should be more checkpoints. It also should correspond much more to events, as, for example, you find a pigeon to help you, but that's in the middle of a long stretch with no checkpoints, so finding that, going on a ways, then dying meant having to go get the pigeon over and over again, rather than having a checkpoint where one finds the pigeon in what I'd consider a more reasonable manner.
If this game is on sale at it's full price, don't buy it. If it's on sale, don't buy it. If someone offers it to you for free, decline.
Terrible control of the character and bad camera/view renders the game unplayable... 3 out of 10... just for the story concept.
If your looking for a fun platformer keep looking.
Really want to like this game but the controls are really rough and a bit unresponsive for a platformer. You'll have to figure out the controller controls on your own. The game doesn't tell you beyond the keyboard controls.
The graphics are quirky and funny but the gameplay is stilted and stiff, not nearly as fluid and funky as it should be.
My biggest issue with this game is the "loose" controls. In my opinion, it breaks this game. There are sections that require precise navigation, and the controls lack the precision to perform those tasks. Additionally, while the game does have some controller support, it still requires a mouse to perform specific tasks. This game also needs full controller support for both Playstation, Xbox, as well as Aftermarket controllers.
That said however, I can see that the team behind this team have both a good concept as well as great artstyle within there game. I like the Tesla vs. Edison idea as well as the elongated body artstyle. It should be also mentioned that the backgrounds(2d worlds) featured in the levels also look very good.
Overall, At initial release I can't recommend the game. However, if the controls were tighter and the game featured full control support, then I would definitely consider giving this game a second chance.
Fresh style, Original story, and the all important Battle of the Millenium, Tesla(Poor Immigrant Inventor) Vs Edison(Corporate Sponsored Douchebag that you think invented the lightbulb). The story alone is worth the money. If you are truely a fan of Tesla you will love this game. If you don't know who Tesla is then you should stick a fork into a wall outlet. I absolutely love this game! 10/10
Very cool and fun with a unique style. Very challenging too, not for those who like easy games.
