Originally released in 2005, Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in North America) was a breakthrough in interactive narrative, teetering between the worlds of cinema and gaming while also embracing them, carving its own unique genre in the entertainment landscape. This newly remastered edition features updated graphics, controller support AND is based on the uncut/uncensored international version of the game.
With a rich multilayered narrative, innovative presentation, and a chilling musical score by famed Hollywood composer Angelo Badalamenti, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered serves as the definitive version of the supernatural murder mystery and (re)introduces the groundbreaking title to old and new fans alike.
Features:
• Interactive Drama — An intuitive control scheme and spectacular split-screen presentation complement the game's mysterious noir narrative.
• Extensive Replayability — With branching dialog and multiple endings, each playthrough of the game yields a different outcome.
• Multiple Characters — Take control of the narrative through four different playable characters, each illuminating a different perspective of the story.
• Fully Voiced Script — Every line from the extensive script is voiced by professional actors in English, French, German, and Spanish.
• Cinematic Score — Fahrenheit features a fully orchestrated score composed by Angelo Badalamenti, famous for his extensive work with director David Lynch.
• Uncut version of the game — Unlike the original North American release,
Remastered contains all of the game's original scenes, uncensored and uncut.
Key Upgrades:
• High-definition Graphics — All of the in-game textures have been meticulously recreated in HD for desktop.
• Controller Support — Support for Sony and Microsoft controllers for desktop platforms.
• Live Graphics Comparison — Players can switch between the updated visuals and the original art assets by pressing F9

Very underrated game. It is obviously inspired by the movie "The Matrix" (1999), the game "Max Payne" (2001) and sometimes it reminds me of the classical "Resident Evil" games. It has distinct characters and desperate atmosphere of the cyberpunk of the late '90s. Game has interesting lore, character development and several endings based on decisions you make. I really have enjoyed Fahrenheit.
Arguably Quantic's only good game.
Has some silly segments that make you wonder why you're even playing this game but finishing this and getting the full story got you wondering if you're still alive or flatlining on krokodil and dreaming this up.
This quickly goes from a Max Payne detective novel to the Matrix sequel that it actually deserved.
One of the few games that made me look past all the goofy stuff that would normally make me drop any piece of media immediately. Standing in place and dodging flying bookshelves while escaping Lovecraftian Freddy Krueger feels just right at home in this beautiful product of a gritty and explicit era of storytelling.
I first watched this game when PewDiePie played it and now I am old enough to be able to purchase it and play it. Honestly I like the game because it is something from my childhood and my major is game design. All in all the game is easy and fun to play. Does the story make sense? no not at all. Is it something you should play and give a chance? Yes I do. If you have played this studios more popular games you should at least play this game because it is the starter for this studios game.
This actually starts out pretty interesting but then there's a total tonal shift midway through the game with absolutely no warning and what happens is comedy gold.
The game is fine but it's having problem of audio being stopped working after some indefinite time on the native Linux port. However, it is running fine on Windows. But as I'm switching to Linux and phasing out of Windows, I requested a refund for the game.
настолько фанател по этой игре в 2005-ом, что чуть не порезал себе на запястьях двуглавых змей, однако, хорошо, что получилось лишь придушить змея
10/10
not the most interesting game in the genre of interactive cinema, personally, I was not particularly attracted to this game, most likely because of its visual part, not the best game of this studio

Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered brings back a cult classic adventure with improved visuals and controller support. The game’s mix of supernatural thriller and interactive storytelling is as intriguing as ever, with plenty of twists to keep you hooked. However, its quick-time event-heavy gameplay can feel dated, and some story elements may come across as over-the-top or uneven. Still, it’s a great choice if you’re into narrative-driven games and want to experience one of Quantic Dream’s earlier, ambitious projects.
This was a hard game to rate. On the one hand it's graphically clever and definitely had a lot of thought put into it even if it isn't impressive or even that good looking. The controls are, on keyboard, revolting - I haven't tried controller but I hear it breaks the game. On the topic of breaking the game, if you don't want to bootcrash with the Stack Error: Hit ignore, then load the game in whatever language you can, create a new profile, escape to pause menu and change resolution if its rendering at 4K (mine always did for some reason) and then you can fullscreen after.
The whole 'Mouse movement immersion' rubbish is not just volatile to high sensitivity deviations, but it blatantly doesn't work half the time in the way you would expect it to - leading to moments of confusion and a badly designed game. In the tutorial I was told that the character could do anything (bold claim) - it turns out it has less to interact with than a resident evil game.
The pacing in the trailer is very misleading, I was playing the game for all of thirty minutes waiting to get a chance to save and I dared press "F9" which I didn't get to find out what is was meant to do, because it crashed my game. The game crashes, the game's mechanics are poor and visually it's rather mediocre.
I understand that this is a remaster of a console game (more like a revival, as I've never heard this title before buying it) and I must say that I don't think this worth buying even with the offer it's on at the moment. If you want a good murder mystery game with supernatural horror but don't mind the poor graphics play the Original Deadly Premonition. I will be attempting to get a refund of this game, as its just broken - and half the community posts regarding the bugs were from 2016 showing that the devs show zero signs of fixing this ****show.
This is far from a 'remaster'.
1. The game does not scale properly at 1080p/16:9, the game looks stretched. So I lowered it to 1024x768 and of course the game scaled properly. Not surprising given the age of this game, but if you're going to make a 'remaster' make it scale properly in modern resolution. Anything higher than 1024x768 didn't seem to look right. I ended up lowering the resolution in the first place because of the text on the computer screens being unreadable.
2. The ambient music is in mono. You might think it's trivial, but it really does stick out and it's hard to ignore.
3. The controls are awkward and the quick time events are even more awkward. For example QTEs make you press the left arrow and A at the same time once prompted.
4. Cheesy dialogue.
The story was really good at the start, but near the end it just gets horrible, and I'm very dissapointed.
The relationship with 2 of the protagonists was way too fucking random, and they tried too hard to make it a love story at the end.
Plus at some point they just fucking forget about Tyler. His only big decision in the story is to choose between his Girlfriend and his job.
The shit ending for the story, combined with the horrible graphics, mid music, and god awful controls makes this game horrible. Would not recommend.
the game story is very fascinating. the idea of switching characters pov and completing missions with the mini games in between are kinda new to me. its a great game and very nerve wrecking at some points, looks surreal. worth it!
Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) is one of the best games I've ever played. Its unique story, filled with suspense and unexpected twists, kept me hooked from start to finish. The game blends psychological thriller and supernatural elements in a way that no other game has. With its immersive game play and thought-provoking themes, Indigo Prophecy offers an unforgettable experience. If you love story-driven games, this is a must-play.
Its one of the best game i have played and the plot and story and the dialogues are great.
unline other users i didn't have any issue with controling things and i think it's good. maybe because i'm a old Gamer i'm not having any problem with it.
went in completely blind, besides knowing that at some point near the ending the game loses all sense of realism and goes bonkers, didnt expect this though. it's genuinely incomprehensible how quickly the game loses the adult noir-thriller vibe of possible struggles with mental health (with a sanity meter no less) and goes all WOINKY DOINKY ANCIENT MAGIC CURSES SUPERPOWERS SECRET CLAN plus adding EVERY conspiracy theory they could come up with and jamming it right in the middle of what seemed to be a pretty mature and interesting story.
i think i must be losing my shit, but isnt this story completely nonsensical and deranged. how did anyone take this seriously from around the late-middle point where it essentially becomes an emo superman game? the flashback child sequences are absolutely horrible both from the story and gameplay perspective. how did Carla become the main love interest after me having NO INPUT WHATSOEVER, she literally lays down near you at one point and you have sex because..? i didnt get this plot and i dont think there's much to get. all the poignancy that could've remained from the first few chapters has successfully fizzled out around the mid-point mark with the introduction of fantasy ancient magic and hitherto unexplained superpowers. when taken separetly the two unfolding stories are okay and could be interesting, but exactly at the midpoint where they converge is where the plot completely lost me. the plot's structure is also incredibly rigid, so the whole concept of consequences doesnt really stick or make enough of an impact on the story to be interesting. if you're interested in the premise, look up the synopsis online, but prepare to be disappointed.
besides that, the controls are absolute hot burning garbage. not just because its old tank controls, that much is excusable, but often times i would find myself having to point my controller's left stick diagonally right and back to see a slight right turn in my character's movements, often times feeling like im simply suggesting movements for my characters rather than actively controlling them. plus the game doesnt offer "full controller support", its partial at best. the d-pad remains unused and the buttons have not been updated accordingly, it took me over a minute to brute force what (L) and (R) buttons on the controller the game was asking of me to use. (the answer was the RB and LB bumpers). that's not nearly as bad as the keyboard controls which imply using mouse movements to mimic the right analog stick inputs, that are now a staple of quantic dream's games, and its just not the same. plus the game has no "back-walk" function, if you press the "S" key when moving the character will simply stop, without moving backwards or turning the other way.
this feels pretty lazy for a port, im glad it exist for preservation purposes, but the story's just so awful that im not going to let it occupy my mind for any significant amount of time, as in the hands of Quantic Dreams (or specifically David Cage) even an interesting premise is doomed to be a complete waste of time.
This game is quite like Detroit: Becoming Human except instead of being awesome it is total crap. Glitchy controls, poor graphics, poor/meaningless in game choices makes this really slow and clunky. I am impressed that the developer Quadraticdream was able to learn from the mistakes here to evolve their understanding of what they are doing. Makes me real interested in what they are going to do after Detroit as their learning curve is clearly pretty impressive. I bought this in a package deal with Detroit because I was interested in what else they were doing and it has been educational. I also understand that this game has an interesting story line. However I don't think I'm going to be able to push through the motion sickness etc. to experience it.
Is it really that hard to make controls for non controllers users.
It is a fantasticly unique supercool story game!!
But maybe only for hardcore spiritual people ;D
Great concept and storyline, but the QTEs are annoying af -_-
I remember playing this long ago on a PS2. I don't see how this remaster is a remaster. It's pretty identical when you switch between sd and hd. It's crazy how this game goes from a slow and captivating crime story to bat-shit superhero action. Crazy writing. Still, an interesting story.
I got this free when I bought the quantum multipack. It just doesn't work properly. Always starts up in French, crashes with the stack error before you even get into the menu you have to alt tab and click ignore error. Just putting this out there. This is my only negative review I think.
Difficulties starting the game up initially, which wasn't a big deal; once a workaround was discovered, I went 6 hours into streaming a play-through, when my game decided to crash immediately after the Museum scene. Went to restart the game and resume from where it would have previously saved, only to discover that my save file was corrupted, unable to be recovered.
Probably best to just play it on a console if you can find a copy.
This game is very trippy. I would say to enjoy this game to its fullest, you kinda already have to be into Quantic Dream games.
The game starts out very strong story-wise and goes off the rails in the third act.
Graphics are dated, music is dated. Story is novel, acting is good, game mechanics and interactions largely hold up.
Old but good. QTE a little bit bothering, but still manageble. Cool story brought me back to a days when I was young.
Quantic Dream thanks
PS. With gamepad feels much easier=)
I've played this game on the OG Xbox for years. I recently streamed this for a friend and did not notice how ridiculous this game was until we started poking fun at it. Play it
10/10- Great time for all.
great game. quantic dream always makes good games. i have played heavy rain, beyond two souls and detroit become human on playstation. just love their games and i highly recommend their games.
I haven't completed the game yet but to me first impressions can matter a lot in games and this one goes from good to mixed to then amazing. If you want to avoid spoilers for the first 4 hours of the game ignore this review but now for the review: at first i was expecting something more on the simpler yet enjoyable side like Murdered Soul Suspect or Deadly Premonition but boy this feels more unique but in a similar category if that makes sense. The game starts off with a good starting mystery and introduction of characters without giving every detail to keep a lasting plot the three protagonists being Lucas Kane (suspect of a murder), Carla and Tyler (Police officers/detectives on the murder case) the game plays out like a movie with choices and rhythm game like QTE's sometimes but there are free walk around areas but i think this game does QTE's right with them feeling logical rather than random like analysing details while a body is being opened up and what not i think the funniest and most unexpected QTE that i will never forget is the Guitar one that leads to a full blown QTE sex scene but there's also more fun ones like the boxing match and the combination of music with it make it feel like you're in a rhythm that i really enjoyed and couldn't get enough of but my only gripes are controls take time getting used to Overall so far 9.5/10.
Truly an underrated masterpiece and ahead of it's time in 2005.
Great nostalgy game and of course a breakthrough that changed the game industry universallly for better
idk what to say about this one. I had a lot of fun, somehow.
Even the remastered version is not really set up for 21:9 ultrawide, so get ready for a side of jank with your jank.
QTEs, Drama, Supernatural Conspiracies, QTEs, Drama, Supernatural Conspiracies, etc
And some QTEs to go with your QTEs. 00's jock rock to go with your conspiracy.
The choices seem impactful, but realistically they aren't. I didn't mind because I wasn't expecting a big branching storyline.
This game is a gem of surrealism, If you like story driven games and those old 'simon says' kids toys, you'll enjoy it. (So many QTEs and so much jank...)
Its good but I'm not gonna lie the last hour or two of the game gets very confusing very fast - it feels rather rushed.
For starters: I originally played this game on PC back in the day, and really enjoyed it. But I never got around to the newer Quantic games, such as Heavy Rain. Then I saw the latter showed up for sale, and when I looked further I found the Quantic Dream Collection that included Fahrenheit for a song, so I jumped on that. And being a stickler for doing things chronologically, I had to first (re)play Fahrenheit before jumping on the other games.
So, after having played Fahrenheit again I can say that... well, there's good and bad. It *is* a good game, and it *was* groundbreaking at the time. The story is great, the music is great, the mood is chilling. The graphics are seriously dated, but I can cope with that.
The biggest detriment, though, are the controls. They don't really work well. I originally played it with a controller back in the days, and I did the same on this playthrough. I can't remember having problems with the controls back then, but now it was just bad. I first noticed it during conversations, where it seems that the controls are not always properly centered before you can make a choice, so I needed to fiddle a little bit to choose the option I wanted. And sometimes I got the wrong one. A nuisance, but far from gamebreaking.
However this game is heavy with QTE that requires you to push the sticks in different directions on que. And this *will* inevitably fail time and time again. This is not a nuisance, this is downright infuriating, and makes the game a true test of patience to get through. In particular I remember breezing through the rooftop fight scene on my first attempt, but this time I tore my hair out in frustraion. I kept getting quite a bit in, before I inevitably failed on a QTE even though I *knew* I hit it right. After numerous failed attempts to get past this fight I had to resort to turning down the difficulty to easy, and even then it was a bitch to actually get through it.
So it hurts me to say this, but I can't really recommend this game in its current form. Watch a letsplay if you want to see what it's about, or go play one of the newer Quantic games. I write this after also having finished Heavy Rain, and that game did not have the same issues as this game.
fun old game with weird controls, but story is good so far
Its bad. I get that its the first game of this company, but every aspect is bad. The story is slow, characters not catching, visuals are bad. Music is ok. Has an awesome tutorial. But the worst are the movement and the QTE, I wanted to cry after doing them
If the story wasn't good I don't think I'd have completed the game with these wonky controls and weird camera movement. That being said, if you do familiarise yourself with how the game works and give it a go you'll want to push through to see what happens. This is a good game to complete in one or two sittings, uninstall and go next.
7/10
I really enjoyed the first three-quarters of the game, especially when the murder mystery kicks in and is skillfully developed. The story at this stage is engaging, intricately connecting the main character, those around him, and the detectives' personal lives. However, the final part felt confusing to me—particularly with the sudden shift to Matrix-style fights and the introduction of a romantic story line, which didn’t seem to fit...
Absolutely great in every way. An interesting storyline, well-developed characters, and an amazing soundtrack. This game definitely deserves a remake.
If you put the money you would spend on this game into a pile, light it on fire, and put your hands in the fire, the warmth you feel would be more enjoyable than playing this game, and the searing pain of third degree burns would be less painful than playing this game
17 hours aand I feel encouraged!
We miss that 00s time period with good games and natural sounding music.
We miss that feelings people had back there.
We miss true love between Man and Woman
We miss detective drama
We miss giggles between white and black people
Us, gamers - WE MISS IT!
I feel really sorry I completed this game only after Heavy Rain and Detroit.
Though I am happy I found this one!
A masterpiece ahead of it's time
This game felt like a fever dream. SOOOOO many QTE's. I've never done that many in my life. The story really drops off the deep end as it progresses but it reaches such a level of incoherence that it becomes fun again (at least for me). Probably not worth it unless its on sale though.
It's kind of a tale of two games. One is great fun and the other is so painfully terrible that I almost quit a million times. The fun part is the story. It's kind of cheesy but at the same time it's compelling and the cheesiness is an amusing kind. The terrible part is the game mechanics. I don't know who made the action of this game and thought, yes, this is fun. Because it is absolutely not. I ended up putting the game on easy so I would mess up less, not because it was so difficult, but having to replay a part was more painful than sticking needles in my eyes.
But like I said, the story is fun, and the graphics from this era have a certain charm. If it's cheap enough, hey, maybe check it out. If not, avoid.
Matrix and Seven(the movie), the perfect combo
Things are never quite what they seem. We think we understand the world around us but we really only see the outside. What it seems to be. I used to be just like you. I believed in humanity, the newspapers, soap commercials, politics and history books. One day the world kicks you in the teeth and you don't have any choice but to see things the way they really are.
The protagonist has the coolest name I've ever seen in my life
The controls are as awful as they were 20 years ago, and the mini-games are stupid. The story is good only in the first half of the game; after that, it becomes terrible. Feels like the devs did not have time to finish the game properly.
bir haftasonunda bitirmelik fena olmayan bir oyun
Probably not worth playing today, except for nostalgia reasons.
The story is wild to say the least. But the only downside is the game mechanics. Whoever decided to QTE most of everything needs to never make games again lmao
Worth a shot tho.
this game is really fun to play because its bonkers and pretty bad/ crazy in a fun way. its the experience of watching a really fun terrible movie, but in game form. however the remaster is so godawful buggy, i had to fight through constant crashes to beat the game, so i cant in good conscience recommend this version because of technical difficulties.
Finally took the time to play this classic, which I remember seeing for the first time some crazy decades ago on the original Xbox.
Gameplay-wise, it's QTE heavy, demanding player action in a handful of scenes where the dialogue should have just unfolded on its own. I supposed Devs were probably too fond of the idea back in the day and wished for players to consume it as much as possible.
Speaking of narrative, I had no memory of how bad it culminates into.
Being a Psychological Thriller (with all the challenges that entails) of course it's expected for it all to end as something remarkably different from the kickoff. I commend the writers for not shying away from letting us know so early on that there are supernatural forces about; I'm okay with the idea of adding these elements to jumble (what could be well made) down-to-earth plots — that is, when it's done right!
By the last third of the game, I just wanted it to end. It had me lose interest in the main characters; some others were introduced for the sake of convenience and plot development; antagonists and their philosophy are poorly explained and this all leads to an unfulfilling conclusion.
It's entertaining for the most part, all things considering, if you wish to experience an old title and the one that preceded Heavy Rain. It's certainly a good 2005 game, which I'm sure I'd appreciate a greater deal back in the day, at an age when good story writing was supplementary.
I highly recommended it's amazing game, fabulous atmosphere and wonderful story
9/10
