Originally released in 2005, Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in North America) was a breakthrough in interactive narrative, teetering between the worlds of cinema and gaming while also embracing them, carving its own unique genre in the entertainment landscape. This newly remastered edition features updated graphics, controller support AND is based on the uncut/uncensored international version of the game.
With a rich multilayered narrative, innovative presentation, and a chilling musical score by famed Hollywood composer Angelo Badalamenti, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered serves as the definitive version of the supernatural murder mystery and (re)introduces the groundbreaking title to old and new fans alike.
Features:
• Interactive Drama — An intuitive control scheme and spectacular split-screen presentation complement the game's mysterious noir narrative.
• Extensive Replayability — With branching dialog and multiple endings, each playthrough of the game yields a different outcome.
• Multiple Characters — Take control of the narrative through four different playable characters, each illuminating a different perspective of the story.
• Fully Voiced Script — Every line from the extensive script is voiced by professional actors in English, French, German, and Spanish.
• Cinematic Score — Fahrenheit features a fully orchestrated score composed by Angelo Badalamenti, famous for his extensive work with director David Lynch.
• Uncut version of the game — Unlike the original North American release,
Remastered contains all of the game's original scenes, uncensored and uncut.
Key Upgrades:
• High-definition Graphics — All of the in-game textures have been meticulously recreated in HD for desktop.
• Controller Support — Support for Sony and Microsoft controllers for desktop platforms.
• Live Graphics Comparison — Players can switch between the updated visuals and the original art assets by pressing F9

Game is enjoyable if you are a fan of Quantic Dream's other games. The game is definitely clunky, and the story gets kinda wack near the end, but it's an overall enjoyable experience.
All in all, I'd give it a 7.5/10.
The usual format for developers, even if this is their first project. We play as a victim with certain problems, and at the same time we play as the police, or something like that, solving some crime. They will tell us about this throughout the story.
Am I saying this is the developers' usual format? Well, the game Beyond: Two Souls doesn't boast of that, but it's a little different in this regard.
Now let's talk about the game itself, and why I don't recommend it? The game is simply terrible. And at least one interesting plot is not enough, because the plot itself is not enough when there should be gameplay. And the gameplay here is very terrible. QTE is performed using WASD control and mouse movement. And even if I played on a gamepad, it would be a little easier to control the sticks (because I couldn't play on the gamepad for some reason), but on computer equipment it is... terrible. And the character control itself is terrible too.
Despite the game's more interesting plot, I don't recommend playing this game with such terrible gameplay. And I haven't even mentioned how the conversation choices are made here.
Graphics don't make the game. Its a good game with a good story and yes the graphics remind you of the time it was released but it doesn't affect gameplay at all.
The quick time events can become tedious at times but that didnt ruin my experience playing this game
A timeless classic! This 2004 game still delivers a gripping narrative, memorable characters, and innovative gameplay. Recommended for fans of interactive dramas and action-adventure games.
I only recommend this game to those who play it solely for the story and do not care about the gameplay or the graphics.
The main issues with this game lie in the graphics and the gameplay mechanics, which feel very outdated.
It use tank controls. While focusing on the story, QTEs often appear and divert your attention.
Autistic man gets irradiated and becomes Neo from the matrix movie directed by the Wachowski brothers.
It starts off interesting but turns into a total clownshow when the supernatural elements start getting introduced. You play as Lucas, Carla and Tyler. Tyler is a cool black guy that listens to motown and plays basketball. Incredible stuff by David Cage right here.
Lucas works in IT. He also gets mindcontrolled into killing someone, and then detective Carla has to go after him.
But it starts off alright with you trying to avoid getting caught by the police and then you as the police try to catch yourself, bit of a conflict of interest there but either way it works. But then the supernatural, illuminati jewish global elites that try to enslave humanity plotline gets introduced and everything falls apart. It feels like David Cage watched the matrix, Day after tomorrow, Neon genesis evangelion and then played Metal gear solid, Deus ex and put all of them into one game. And he added simon says QTEs. Revolutionary stuff. Also Carla falls in love with the autistic superhero Lucas at the end for some reason despite there being literally no chemistry between them.
This game is too smart for you, too smart for all of us! Is it good? Is it bad? I don't know and neither do you! David Cage doesn't play by the rules of us mere mortals.
I don't remember when I saw the light. Perhaps it was after Lucas got punched by an angel statue or when he turned into a reanimated corpse, got into a matrix-style fight on a roof top and then had ice-cold corpse-sex with the female protagonist after masterfully seducing her in a cemetary within 5 minutes. At some point the David-Cageness truly overwhelmed me. 🙏
What the hell does it mean? Is it brilliant? Is it stupid? Why are there Cyborgs? What would Nietzsche say? - I have no fucking idea. I'm sure David would know. He put a Nietzsche book in the game, that means it's deep. I just don't know! And that's beautiful...right?
How do you keep doing it Dave? And how can we stop you? ...Should we stop you? 🤔 - Can such boundless hypothetical sophistication even be stopped?
начиналось очень хорошо, но к середине игры всё стало просто смешно, и бесит что когда проигрывают катсцену нужно постоянно жать на кнопки. В общем игра интересная, стоит того
Gameplay:
In the game we follow the fate of a man who - as we know from the introduction to the game - murdered a man under the influence of an unknown force. We also see an investigation conducted by detectives, which we also lead by playing alternately as the murderer and detectives. The game has arcade elements, and our choices can affect the game to some extent.
Liquidity:
There are no problems with liquidity.
Graphics:
The graphics - for the time of the game's release - are really good. Of course, they are very outdated for today. The game is from a third-person perspective.
Sound effects:
The music and sound effects have an incredible impact on the plot. The voice actors are well chosen and reflect the character of the characters.
Opinion:
Until halfway through the game I wondered why it wasn't more popular. The plot was great, incredibly engaging and exciting. And then the paranormal powers came and destroyed everything. Of course, something about the paranormal powers was known from the beginning, but they were introduced gradually and very smoothly entered the plot. Until a certain point, after which the game lost its atmosphere and stopped being what I loved it for at first. The ending itself is incredibly disappointing and after playing the first chapter I would never have said that this game would end like this. So I have mixed feelings, but in the end I think I can recommend this game to those who like to get into the atmosphere of psychological thrillers with a warning that the end of the game is disappointing.
the game starts off with a pretty gripping hook, which it proceeds to slowly lose through questionable story beats and goofy fight sequences that i can't help but laugh at the further i got. the first 1/3 of the game is great though, i'd say it's worth it if you can get it on sale for dirt cheap!
Don’t play this game unless:
a) You have masochistic tendencies,
b) You enjoy old games.
The game tells a very intriguing story that keeps you engaged. The music, editing and cutscenes can be genuinely impressive (by 2005 standards, of course). But that’s about it for the positives.
The graphics haven’t aged well. While this isn’t always a dealbreaker, the facial animations of the characters are downright laughable and can ruin the immersion (e.g., when someone’s mouth suddenly stretches into a banana-like shape only to snap back to normal).
The QTEs (Quick Time Events) are terribly executed. Not only do they pop up in the most unexpected and nonsensical moments (for example, the developers apparently decided that one particular conversation was too slow, so they shoehorned in random button-mashing between lines of dialogue), but I also found them quite difficult, even on the easy difficulty setting (though that might just be a matter of getting used to them).
The camera work is also frustrating. It frequently makes your head spin and leaves you unsure of where to go or what to do.
My ratings:
Gameplay: 4/10 (x3)
Story: 8/10 (x3)
Graphics: 5/10 (x2)
Sound and music: 7/10 (x2)
+1 point for the game’s atmosphere
Overall score: 7/10
I recommend buying it on sale, provided you’re not bothered by the game’s age. It took me 12 hours to complete the game and earn all 17 achievements.
Fahrenheit is a game about people who are in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Fahrenheit is the first interactive movie created by the Quantic Dream studio, at least as far as I know.
I've known about this game since I was a kid, my mom used to play it on our PS2 when I was 6 and cant finish it because of job, and then the console was sold, so now I'm really glad we were able to play it together.
From the very beginning, I thought it was a game about a simple guy who lost his mind and was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, but in reality everything turned out to be much more complicated, with elements of mysticism and magic, I can't say that I'm disappointed by this, but I would not be against the first option.
Maybe my opinion will be biased, because I have very pleasant memories with this game, but I will try to write everything as it is.
The plot in the game is not the most interesting, but it is presented perfectly, moments when we see the situation from the face of two or more characters at the same time, or the main character begins to see visions, gave me goosebumps.
The gameplay is quite interesting for an interactive movie, I played with keyboard and mouse so I will speak for the controls, I liked the idea of moving the mouse in different directions for specific actions, the qte are not bad, but when you die near the end of a particularly long one it can be very boring to go through it the second time, the camera control is like in old games (which it is), it may not be convenient for someone, but I got used to it very quickly.
I'm not interested in the graphics, so I can't say anything about it, but it seems to me that it's not bad for 2005 (I don't know if it was changed in the remaster, so I took the date of the first release)
So, Fahrenheit is not a bad game, especially if you take it as a first try in this genre, from this studio I've only played it and Detroit on PS4, and I think it's not bad, especially for its discounted price, I advise everyone to check it out the first game from the studio and I give it 8\10.
Even though the graphics are bad, the story is interesting. You should play it for the story.
Was kinda cool story except the last part whan story becomes absoliutly wild abomination.
And prepare for one of the worst quick time events in gaming history.
Still good game for 2 euros on sale.
This is The Room of video games, and I love it.
Around an 8 hour ago but became 15 hours for me after I accidentally deleted my save several times/not setting up a save account.
I just beat Fahrenheit and, despite Cage's best efforts, it's a loopy masterpiece. Please understand that most of Fahrenheit is one huge misfire after another in the sense that the gameplay is maddening and poorly designed, and the narrative is kinda hokey and conventional until the last act when it all, somehow effortlessly, comes beautifully together. Like it was a plan even though I really doubt it was. Great and surprising game. That said, I doubt I'll ever play it again lolz.
Its a story based interactive game. Its an old game so the visuals are outdated but the story, the characters, the dialogues are very well written and the gameplay is really fun. Overall a very good game and totally worth playing.
almost every david cage game is worth trying out and beating once, and this game is no exception, although its baffling and much less non-linear than it lets on.
Lucas Kane is a poor bank IT worker sap gets possessed by something or someone and is forced to commit a ritualistic murder in a New York City diner bathroom. This causes him some obvious distress and now he must try to be unsuspicious as he leaves the diner, possibly having hidden the body and weapon.
Detectives Carla Valenti and her partner Tyler Miles are called to investigate the scene and begin to piece together the crime, and the rest of the first two thirds are a pretty straightforward game where Lucas tries to cope, suppress his own childhood trauma, and himself investigate what possessed him, where Carla and Tyler remain on his tail and investigate who he could be.
Pros:
-story goes places and is consistently fun and twisty
-general gameplay is solid, being a mix of quicktime events, controller/keyboard interactions, and thumbstick wiggles that works for the most part in emulating the motion of whatever action the game wants you to do.
-full of variety and i like how action really takes a backseat to managing anxieties and investigation
-anxiety system is not great but for sure novel--every character has a "stress" level to manage and stuff like failed interactions or the wrong interactions deplete to a point of failure, where your character takes their own life. Later Quantic Games take character death into account, but this game is just a straight fail if anyone dies or goes crazy.
-often on sale for VERY cheap
Cons:
-dated even for 2005; QD was a low grade AA developer, surviving despite having blown their last game's budget on its admittedly fantastic David Bowie soundtrack and cameo (omikron is also a worthwile game for its time, dont get me wrong)
-Heavy Rain suffers worse from this issue, but its a french studio writing english dialogue, it doesnt really work.
-final third of the game is just bad.
Emotional and complex story. Gameplay is simple (but the decisions are not) and you need to be quick with the keys. If you liked other games from the Quantic Dream collection you will like this one.
I played this game 20 years ago, could barely remember anything. Graphics are nice, very charming old skool touch.
Story and Characters are well written, gameplay has some cool action elements to it.
If you can get the game on sale for 2$ I would say insta buy it. If you're not sure if you wanna pay 10$, if you are into film noire, into narrative stoy telling games this game is for you.
For a quiet old game I liked it a lot the story was kinda cool the only downside for me was that the skill checks felt kinda long or unnecessary sometimes but overall I would give it like an 8/10
Carla best Girl
this game is very unique and has a good story, but unbelievable frustrating.
the controls are catastrophic and there are for several years now game breaking bugs in there.
requested refund.
broken and unplayable but nice music to accompany the black screen after the logos
Despite the weird plot in the 2nd half, it is still a great interactive movie classic. It is a slightly modernized improvement over the original. But if you played the original already, the remaster is barely noticeable. Just a few QoL and texture changes
I unironically love this game, it's a wild trip and I played it during a winter holiday snowstorm going in completely blind as my first David Cage game.
Very underrated game. It is obviously inspired by the movie "The Matrix" (1999), the game "Max Payne" (2001) and sometimes it reminds me of the classical "Resident Evil" games. It has distinct characters and desperate atmosphere of the cyberpunk of the late '90s. Game has interesting lore, character development and several endings based on decisions you make. I really have enjoyed Fahrenheit.
Arguably Quantic's only good game.
Has some silly segments that make you wonder why you're even playing this game but finishing this and getting the full story got you wondering if you're still alive or flatlining on krokodil and dreaming this up.
This quickly goes from a Max Payne detective novel to the Matrix sequel that it actually deserved.
One of the few games that made me look past all the goofy stuff that would normally make me drop any piece of media immediately. Standing in place and dodging flying bookshelves while escaping Lovecraftian Freddy Krueger feels just right at home in this beautiful product of a gritty and explicit era of storytelling.
They managed to turn a noir criminal story to fucking matrix somehow.
I first watched this game when PewDiePie played it and now I am old enough to be able to purchase it and play it. Honestly I like the game because it is something from my childhood and my major is game design. All in all the game is easy and fun to play. Does the story make sense? no not at all. Is it something you should play and give a chance? Yes I do. If you have played this studios more popular games you should at least play this game because it is the starter for this studios game.
This actually starts out pretty interesting but then there's a total tonal shift midway through the game with absolutely no warning and what happens is comedy gold.
The game is fine but it's having problem of audio being stopped working after some indefinite time on the native Linux port. However, it is running fine on Windows. But as I'm switching to Linux and phasing out of Windows, I requested a refund for the game.
настолько фанател по этой игре в 2005-ом, что чуть не порезал себе на запястьях двуглавых змей, однако, хорошо, что получилось лишь придушить змея
10/10
not the most interesting game in the genre of interactive cinema, personally, I was not particularly attracted to this game, most likely because of its visual part, not the best game of this studio

Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered brings back a cult classic adventure with improved visuals and controller support. The game’s mix of supernatural thriller and interactive storytelling is as intriguing as ever, with plenty of twists to keep you hooked. However, its quick-time event-heavy gameplay can feel dated, and some story elements may come across as over-the-top or uneven. Still, it’s a great choice if you’re into narrative-driven games and want to experience one of Quantic Dream’s earlier, ambitious projects.
This was a hard game to rate. On the one hand it's graphically clever and definitely had a lot of thought put into it even if it isn't impressive or even that good looking. The controls are, on keyboard, revolting - I haven't tried controller but I hear it breaks the game. On the topic of breaking the game, if you don't want to bootcrash with the Stack Error: Hit ignore, then load the game in whatever language you can, create a new profile, escape to pause menu and change resolution if its rendering at 4K (mine always did for some reason) and then you can fullscreen after.
The whole 'Mouse movement immersion' rubbish is not just volatile to high sensitivity deviations, but it blatantly doesn't work half the time in the way you would expect it to - leading to moments of confusion and a badly designed game. In the tutorial I was told that the character could do anything (bold claim) - it turns out it has less to interact with than a resident evil game.
The pacing in the trailer is very misleading, I was playing the game for all of thirty minutes waiting to get a chance to save and I dared press "F9" which I didn't get to find out what is was meant to do, because it crashed my game. The game crashes, the game's mechanics are poor and visually it's rather mediocre.
I understand that this is a remaster of a console game (more like a revival, as I've never heard this title before buying it) and I must say that I don't think this worth buying even with the offer it's on at the moment. If you want a good murder mystery game with supernatural horror but don't mind the poor graphics play the Original Deadly Premonition. I will be attempting to get a refund of this game, as its just broken - and half the community posts regarding the bugs were from 2016 showing that the devs show zero signs of fixing this ****show.
This is far from a 'remaster'.
1. The game does not scale properly at 1080p/16:9, the game looks stretched. So I lowered it to 1024x768 and of course the game scaled properly. Not surprising given the age of this game, but if you're going to make a 'remaster' make it scale properly in modern resolution. Anything higher than 1024x768 didn't seem to look right. I ended up lowering the resolution in the first place because of the text on the computer screens being unreadable.
2. The ambient music is in mono. You might think it's trivial, but it really does stick out and it's hard to ignore.
3. The controls are awkward and the quick time events are even more awkward. For example QTEs make you press the left arrow and A at the same time once prompted.
4. Cheesy dialogue.
The story was really good at the start, but near the end it just gets horrible, and I'm very dissapointed.
The relationship with 2 of the protagonists was way too fucking random, and they tried too hard to make it a love story at the end.
Plus at some point they just fucking forget about Tyler. His only big decision in the story is to choose between his Girlfriend and his job.
The shit ending for the story, combined with the horrible graphics, mid music, and god awful controls makes this game horrible. Would not recommend.
the game story is very fascinating. the idea of switching characters pov and completing missions with the mini games in between are kinda new to me. its a great game and very nerve wrecking at some points, looks surreal. worth it!
Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) is one of the best games I've ever played. Its unique story, filled with suspense and unexpected twists, kept me hooked from start to finish. The game blends psychological thriller and supernatural elements in a way that no other game has. With its immersive game play and thought-provoking themes, Indigo Prophecy offers an unforgettable experience. If you love story-driven games, this is a must-play.
Its one of the best game i have played and the plot and story and the dialogues are great.
unline other users i didn't have any issue with controling things and i think it's good. maybe because i'm a old Gamer i'm not having any problem with it.
went in completely blind, besides knowing that at some point near the ending the game loses all sense of realism and goes bonkers, didnt expect this though. it's genuinely incomprehensible how quickly the game loses the adult noir-thriller vibe of possible struggles with mental health (with a sanity meter no less) and goes all WOINKY DOINKY ANCIENT MAGIC CURSES SUPERPOWERS SECRET CLAN plus adding EVERY conspiracy theory they could come up with and jamming it right in the middle of what seemed to be a pretty mature and interesting story.
i think i must be losing my shit, but isnt this story completely nonsensical and deranged. how did anyone take this seriously from around the late-middle point where it essentially becomes an emo superman game? the flashback child sequences are absolutely horrible both from the story and gameplay perspective. how did Carla become the main love interest after me having NO INPUT WHATSOEVER, she literally lays down near you at one point and you have sex because..? i didnt get this plot and i dont think there's much to get. all the poignancy that could've remained from the first few chapters has successfully fizzled out around the mid-point mark with the introduction of fantasy ancient magic and hitherto unexplained superpowers. when taken separetly the two unfolding stories are okay and could be interesting, but exactly at the midpoint where they converge is where the plot completely lost me. the plot's structure is also incredibly rigid, so the whole concept of consequences doesnt really stick or make enough of an impact on the story to be interesting. if you're interested in the premise, look up the synopsis online, but prepare to be disappointed.
besides that, the controls are absolute hot burning garbage. not just because its old tank controls, that much is excusable, but often times i would find myself having to point my controller's left stick diagonally right and back to see a slight right turn in my character's movements, often times feeling like im simply suggesting movements for my characters rather than actively controlling them. plus the game doesnt offer "full controller support", its partial at best. the d-pad remains unused and the buttons have not been updated accordingly, it took me over a minute to brute force what (L) and (R) buttons on the controller the game was asking of me to use. (the answer was the RB and LB bumpers). that's not nearly as bad as the keyboard controls which imply using mouse movements to mimic the right analog stick inputs, that are now a staple of quantic dream's games, and its just not the same. plus the game has no "back-walk" function, if you press the "S" key when moving the character will simply stop, without moving backwards or turning the other way.
this feels pretty lazy for a port, im glad it exist for preservation purposes, but the story's just so awful that im not going to let it occupy my mind for any significant amount of time, as in the hands of Quantic Dreams (or specifically David Cage) even an interesting premise is doomed to be a complete waste of time.
This game is quite like Detroit: Becoming Human except instead of being awesome it is total crap. Glitchy controls, poor graphics, poor/meaningless in game choices makes this really slow and clunky. I am impressed that the developer Quadraticdream was able to learn from the mistakes here to evolve their understanding of what they are doing. Makes me real interested in what they are going to do after Detroit as their learning curve is clearly pretty impressive. I bought this in a package deal with Detroit because I was interested in what else they were doing and it has been educational. I also understand that this game has an interesting story line. However I don't think I'm going to be able to push through the motion sickness etc. to experience it.
Is it really that hard to make controls for non controllers users.
It is a fantasticly unique supercool story game!!
But maybe only for hardcore spiritual people ;D
Great concept and storyline, but the QTEs are annoying af -_-
I remember playing this long ago on a PS2. I don't see how this remaster is a remaster. It's pretty identical when you switch between sd and hd. It's crazy how this game goes from a slow and captivating crime story to bat-shit superhero action. Crazy writing. Still, an interesting story.
I got this free when I bought the quantum multipack. It just doesn't work properly. Always starts up in French, crashes with the stack error before you even get into the menu you have to alt tab and click ignore error. Just putting this out there. This is my only negative review I think.
Difficulties starting the game up initially, which wasn't a big deal; once a workaround was discovered, I went 6 hours into streaming a play-through, when my game decided to crash immediately after the Museum scene. Went to restart the game and resume from where it would have previously saved, only to discover that my save file was corrupted, unable to be recovered.
Probably best to just play it on a console if you can find a copy.
This game is very trippy. I would say to enjoy this game to its fullest, you kinda already have to be into Quantic Dream games.
The game starts out very strong story-wise and goes off the rails in the third act.
Graphics are dated, music is dated. Story is novel, acting is good, game mechanics and interactions largely hold up.
Old but good. QTE a little bit bothering, but still manageble. Cool story brought me back to a days when I was young.
Quantic Dream thanks
PS. With gamepad feels much easier=)
