Originally released in 2005, Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in North America) was a breakthrough in interactive narrative, teetering between the worlds of cinema and gaming while also embracing them, carving its own unique genre in the entertainment landscape. This newly remastered edition features updated graphics, controller support AND is based on the uncut/uncensored international version of the game.
With a rich multilayered narrative, innovative presentation, and a chilling musical score by famed Hollywood composer Angelo Badalamenti, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered serves as the definitive version of the supernatural murder mystery and (re)introduces the groundbreaking title to old and new fans alike.
Features:
• Interactive Drama — An intuitive control scheme and spectacular split-screen presentation complement the game's mysterious noir narrative.
• Extensive Replayability — With branching dialog and multiple endings, each playthrough of the game yields a different outcome.
• Multiple Characters — Take control of the narrative through four different playable characters, each illuminating a different perspective of the story.
• Fully Voiced Script — Every line from the extensive script is voiced by professional actors in English, French, German, and Spanish.
• Cinematic Score — Fahrenheit features a fully orchestrated score composed by Angelo Badalamenti, famous for his extensive work with director David Lynch.
• Uncut version of the game — Unlike the original North American release,
Remastered contains all of the game's original scenes, uncensored and uncut.
Key Upgrades:
• High-definition Graphics — All of the in-game textures have been meticulously recreated in HD for desktop.
• Controller Support — Support for Sony and Microsoft controllers for desktop platforms.
• Live Graphics Comparison — Players can switch between the updated visuals and the original art assets by pressing F9

I usually don't make reviews but I had to for this. I bought all 4 quantic dream games in a bundle and decided to play them in order.
No 1, this game. It is fun, the story is wild and does a massive 180 near the end. Was not expecting a low poly sex scene but here we are but holy shit this game was buggy. The controls were weird which I expect will be the same for the rest of the games but I eventually got used to them.
But this game crashed constantly, whenever I ran out of lives the game would crash, the game sometimes crashed on startup. It was a nightmare to run.
I even bought a controller for these games, so the next 3 will be on controller
Absolutely awful game. I'm not going to complain about the graphics, since the game was originally released in the PS2 era (I think), but rather I have significant problems with the game for its unlikable characters, unfathomable plot holes, terrible controls, and complete lack of knowledge or expertise on the part of the designers when it comes to things in the environment, or how things should work. This should be a strong, story heavy game, but instead, you waste your time fighting the game instead of playing. I purchased the game on sale, and even that was too much.
Play it for the old time's sake. There's not much to do in this game when it comes to gameplay but the environment is pretty good.
This's game story telling is good but there are flaws as well in my opinion. The main character reminds me of Neo from the Matrix gifted with super natural powers and being the savior of humanity.
The only downside for this game is the QTEs such as the ASM's color tends to blend in the background. And the most horrible part is the extended alternate mashing of LB and RB buttons which gets VERY tiring for my fingers.
Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered is a pretty awesome game, even if it goes kinda off the rails in the second half. The story starts super strong—gritty murder mystery, cool interactive mechanics, and just a solid atmosphere. But then it kinda turns into The Matrix outta nowhere, and things feel really rushed. Still, the gameplay is unique, and the soundtrack is absolutely top-tier. Even with its weird twists, I’d totally recommend it, especially if you like story-driven games with some QTE action.
Gameplay sucks, camera angles, interactions, quick time events, all of them were terrible. It is not because of the technology at the time that game was developed. There are many other games that older than this, but have far more better gameplay. Also, there are lots of puzzles without any help. Some missions are impossible to play without reading a guide. The story was immersive and interesting, also music and voice acting were awesome, that is why I kept playing until the end. But at the end, the mystery of story also collapsed with surreal and metaphysics stuff. It would be better to end the game without the last chapters, maybe the unsolved mystery could be better than this kind of end.
7/10
One of the most interesting games I've ever played, the story is so gripping and the characters are amazing.
The gameplay on the other hand sucks!
The QTEs are horrid! But they are few and far between so it didn't rly ruin the game for me.
This is definitely one of quantic dream's best games.
You would have more fun if you just bought a Simon Says game and a Theory of a Deadman album.
Shortcomings:
①I had to figure out all the QTE operations in this game by myself - is this what i call "gaming intuition" Hahaha. (it was really exhausting)
②I never got used to the camera controls from start to end, which made me feel like the character I was controlling had just getting familiar with their hands and feet.
③The game had no Chinese language option, so I had to reading English the whole way through. (okay...)
Strengths:
①The game's BGM is fantastic! It perfectly creates the atmosphere of loneliness of New York's heavy snow and dim apartment, and creates tension during investigations and chase sequences!
②The finale has 20 different pathways and three endings - absolutely brilliant!
③(Spoiler) At the end of the game, accepting supernatural abilities and becoming the most powerful person in the world really is the "good ending" for you? Or choosing to seek ordinary life with Carla in the human world be the better choice, even though the Orange Clan rules the world? Is that a "good ending" too? We control both criminals and police, seemingly touching a moral gray area. We learn about the Mayan prophecy of the end of the world, yet still rebel against fate.
Also, young Lucas climbing utility poles with his hands! (Kids, don't try this. Sorry, kids shouldn't play this game, there is sexual content in it)
Summary: This game might not so perfect, but it definitely paved the way for Quantic Dream's interactive movie-style games, which led to the game like "Heavy Rain," "Beyond: Two Souls," and the masterpiece "Detroit: Become Human." There's even a "Beyond: Two Souls" album in Tyler's home, which I guess is an Easter egg, hahahaha.
I just beat this game for the first time, and honestly i had an amazing time, and i found the story pretty captivating, funny at times, and heart-wrenching at other times. With that being said, the game is old and the controls are pretty janky, and it takes time getting used to the QTE events and the camera movement. I played with keyboard and mouse, and used WASD and arrow keys for the QTE events and found myself catching on very quickly and they became very easy (it just takes so patience getting used to it) And for the camera controls I just walked around using mouse holding both right and left click down for the free camera movement.
I think the only part of this game that frustrated me slightly were the childhood stealth chapters, but with a youtube guide it helped me figure them out faster so i could continue on.
I dont think this game should be slept on, if you struggle with the controls the only thing i can say is stick with it and it gets alot easier, I had alot of fun going back and getting all the endings, and I think this game has a real charm to it, and I think on a sale it would be worth giving it a go!
This game kicks off with one of the most gripping openings I’ve ever played-waking up in a diner bathroom after a murder you don’t remember committing. The mystery, atmosphere, and branching choices pull you in right away, making for an engaging experience. I used to play the PS2 version on my friend’s console back in the day, and revisiting it now brings back a lot of nostalgia.
Unfortunately, the controls are a mess. Awkward movement, frustrating quick-time events, and weird mechanics make even basic interactions a chore. The remaster improves the visuals a bit, but the gameplay issues remain.
Still, if you love story-driven games and can tolerate some jank, it’s worth experiencing for the narrative alone!
Blast from the past! I was only young wen i played this on the PS2 and used to scare me haha ! Great game, the most confusing thing about the whole weird story is how they ended up together at the end lol.
Ah, Fahrenheit... Where do I begin?
I first read about this game in a gaming magazine that featured an extensive special about the highlights of the E3 (yeah, I'm THAT old lol). When it finally released, it was unlike anything I had ever played before. It was an interactive movie rather than a video game, putting stronger emphasis on story and characters as well as player choices impacting the narrative than on traditional gameplay elements. It's staging takes big influence from movies as well as using picture-in-picture shots borrowed from the TV show 24, that was very popular by the time of the games release.
To get this out of the way: Fahrenheit is not a game for everyone. It's shortcomings are obvious and must be swallowed in order to enjoy it's unique strong points. A big problem is the already mentioned lack of real gameplay. The action sequences are solely controlled by QTE's and button mashing sequences while the rest of the game plays more like a Telltale adventure, letting you explore small areas before moving to the next scene.
These moments show another lowlight of Fahrenheit: the incredibly annoying controls, that are reminiscent of tank controls used in the days of old... together with a lot of fixed camera angles, prepare to get confused and walk into the wrong direction more than once.
Another divise point about the game is the story. It's starts off incredibly strong and mysterious, but takes a dive into the absurd when it starts to explain the events. But I guess it's a matter of personal preference if you enjoy it or not. Personally, I could have done better with a more grounded approach.
So, with all these negative traits, why do I still love this game so much?
Because it offers a lot of unique approaches that no other video game up to this point has ever tried to do. Although the story turns into a B-movie-plot, it is luckily the kind of highly entertaining B-movie. The characters may be clichéd (looking at you, Tyler), but they're still more fleshed out and "real" than most other video game characters. I couldn't help but to care for those pixelated people, smiling in joy over their victories and feeling sad whenever they took a beating. This game works on an emotional level that managed to get me despite of it's flaws.
Talking about the strong points of this game, I must also mention the soundtrack, that was composed by no one else but Angelo Badalamenti (of David Lynch fame). It also contains several licensed songs, out of which I want to specially mention "Santa Monica" by the band "Theory of a Dead Man". This song is featured several times in the game and got stuck in my head so hard that it is a part of my personal playlist since almost 20 years now.
Verdict: For me personally, Fahrenheit is still one of the defining games of my life as a video gamer. It will always hold a special place in my heart and I want to thank Quantic Dream and David Cage for taking the risk and developing this unique adventure. Despite the aforementioned shortcomings, you can feel all the love, effort and creativity that was put into this game.
Oh, and if all of this didn't sell you on the game: it also features several sex scenes during it's narrative, which led to censorship of the game in it original US-release, as far as I know. On top of that, the german voice over is hilariously bad, offering a very nice counter point to all the dark, pessimistic events that unfold!
good story. the motion capture is amzing but the QTEs show their age. i probably wont play it anytime soon, but the story might make me revisit it in a few years.
The only quick-time event game I can tolerate. Groundbreaking in its time, blew me away as a teenager 20 years ago, and is still worth checking out. 10/10
Completed this game about 7 times at least. Love it. Played on release on PC. Played on PS4 15th Anniversary. Played Remaster. Completed all possible achievements and trophies. Tried all scenarios and dialogue options. Bought Collectors Edition from Limited Run. The game is far from perfect but it has strong effect on me.
Not a bad game, you can definitely tell its old by its controls, which are bad like any other old game. First half of the story is pretty good, the second part is not great. Still for 2 dollars I recommend it
Loved this game on the console, but for some reason this thing is so riddled with bugs or glitches you cant even get this thing to start playing after like multiple attempts i finally got to the beginning in the bathroom stall, however following guides and videos and instructions controller still doesn't work for this, like how are you not going to have native controller support this thing literally originated on a console. absolute garbage. requesting a refund. literally go get an emulator or a console from a pawn shop for 10 bucks and itll be worth more than wasting your time on this garbage port.
Jeez the controls are abysmal and the QTEs are broken, hell the tutorial QTE is broken too. I understand that this is an old game but come on...
one of the best game in its genre. I would also like to draw attention to the musical composition by the great Angelo Badalamenti
No subtitle. It is hard for me to understand what story is talking about since I am deaf.
Fahrenheit: The Indigo Prophecy is one of the earlier games made by Quantic Dream, the developers that have later become known for Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human. Fahrenheit was originally released in 2005 and what you're looking at right now is the remastered version complete with voice acting, HD textures and full controller support.
Fahrenheit: The Indigo Prophecy is a psychological thriller with fantastic elements. You will take the role of Lucas Kane, an ordinary guy who was at the wrong place at the wrong time, as well as the roles of police detectives Carla and Tyler. The game is divided into chapters and each chapter is played out by one (or sometimes two) of these characters. Like all games made by Quantic Dream, Fahrenheit has an excellent narrative and both its story and ending are heavily dependent on players choices.
The story starts very strong right off the bat and continues in the same tone until the very end. I won't go into any specifics as it might spoil your gameplay, but let's just say that the storyline is extremely engaging and is accompanied by an excellent atmosphere. You will constantly find yourself in tight situations where you'll be forced to make choices on the spot, since you'll be constantly pressed for time. For instance: a cop rings the doorbell to your apartment, leaving you with limited time to get dressed, hide any incriminating evidence and answer the door. This is the standard "modus operandi" in Fahrenheit, along with Real Time Events. Real Time Events (RTEs) are something most of you probably don't remember, as it was a passing trend in video games some 20-odd years ago. The most basic explanation of RTE is "you need to press a specific sequence of buttons in a limited amount of time". It was a terrible system and was soon widely abandoned. Unfortunately, there is an abundance of RTEs in Fahrenheit, since they are used in every action scene. The movement and camera controls are also spectacularly bad, among some of the worst I've even seen in video games. The game looks pretty solid though, considering its age. All in all, a pretty strange mix.
Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy is a game that really excels in story and atmosphere, but falls short on gameplay mechanics. If you like choice-driven adventure games, you probably won't be too disappointed with it. I sure wasn't.
Score (out of 10):
6.5
Such a unique game even after all those years.
Genuinely the worst game I've ever played. This is a masterclass in what not do when writing a story and designing a video game.
Game continually crashes on Steam Deck and PC and is unplayable. It was bundled with Detroit Become Human, which works fine. Not sure why they bundled these two together.
THEY CHANGED THE NAME OF "Da hidden dancefloor" FROM THE PLAYSTATION 2 ORIGINAL TO JUST "The Hidden Dance Floor." 0/10! WHY WOULD THEY DO SOMETHING SO OFFENSIVE LIKE THIS!?!? And as we all know thanks to Youtube and the internet, the moment you change even just ONE thing in a remaster from the original regardless of how big or small it is, that automatically makes it a bad version!
still my favorite Quantic game, replayed it at least 5 times, sue me.
I liked this game alot the story was good, its old so the graphics arent the greatest but it didnt bother me. the only thing I didn't like was the some of the quicktime events were challenging and you had to keep dying and do them again to progress.
7/10
A unique game with excellent cinematography and unmatched atmosphere. The tone shift is bizzare yet still enjoyable. The story becomes too rushed, though. All in all, one of a kind.
i will be haunted for the rest of my days
10/10 play with friends and scream cry laugh
Has the same illnesses as any other David Cage game, except the "gameplay" is especially bad. Some of the QTEs take forever and sometimes I fail even though I did everything correct and then repeat minutes of QTEs.
Other than that I think this might be my favorite Quantic Dream game. The dated graphic and oldschool voice acting fits the b-c tier writing way better than the later games. I already knew about the Matrix stuff, but didn't know how crazy it gets later on. This reaches levels of so bad it's good I've not experienced in a long time. A lot of stuff doesn't make sense and the last hour is very rushed.
TL;DR The best David Cage game with the worst gameplay. Only really recommende to people that like crazy shlock.
Time to finish: 7,5 hours
Pretty honestly, that's a good game even for current generation, with some asterisks.
If you're fan of PS2 style and franchises such as The Walking Dead, Detroit: Become Human or Dark Pictures Anthology series, you'll be pleasantly surprised, if you adjust your expectations accordingly. This games seems to be the grass root operation for this whole genre and feels like it's quite rough all around. The story is quite original and decently written for that era of gaming, keeps you engaging trough whole time.
However, the game has some issues even if you take to consideration the age.
I wouldn't call this remastered, because it feels like it's being held with a lot of duck tape to make it run on modern OS's. There was a well known bug in "The Orphanage" chapter where you get slim chance of completing a long QTE section and still remains in PC port, since it's release, that would've been a good thing to fix for remaster since its fairly common to encounter.
A lot of game mechanics haven't aged gracefully and seems to hinder the experience extensively. QTE's are the worst part of this game and its basically half of it. Your vision is focused on 2 circles in dead center that represents basically nothing and for the most seems to be random, not corresponding with whats happening in background.
There's only one story line that only slightly you can change during play trough but not enough to call it choose your own adventure game. The story especially at the end seems to be rushed while introducing a lot of key points without proper setups for the most part or are poorly explained. I even once softlocked whole save by playing as clean as possible with Markus, not leaving any evidences and collecting less than minimum as both Carla and Tyler. In sequence, where Carla was meant to connect the material together, nothing was working and she was resigning, thus softlocking it. How did that went trough initial QA? Game has tendencies to crash at random. Stealth segments are really stiff. When playing on controller, there was annoying glitch while character movement: when camera angle changes and you still hold forward, the person walks in way different way, it's fairly common too.
Overall, pretty decent if you're ready to adjust your expectations and likes to play some throwback style games.
For the current price it's a good game
And I remember the day
When you left for Santa Monica
You left me to remain with all your excuses for everything
And I remember the time
When you left for Santa Monica
And I remember the day you told me it's over
Worst sex scene in visual media/10
great game - worth it on hard mode.
This game is absolutely hilarious, a must play.
Gotta be the worst ending to a good start ever. Playing as Neo and Goku on mushrooms bro.
Is a classic with a gripping, though weird, story. It kept me hooked.
What did i Just play ? Matrix, aliens, AI, Ghost, FK mayan aztecs god & black people in -60 C this game its wild but cool experience.
A weird game, even for David Cage. There are weird moments and the tone feels really off at times. The dialogue is also pretty bad and cheesy. The QTEs are also awkward until you get the hang of it. Oh and the controls are pretty awful. Since it's an older game, it was difficult for the game to launch without crashing. But wow did I still kind of dig this... It's definitely the weakest Quantic Dreams game, but I'm still a sucker for them.
Zsánerteremtő, amit soha nem vett fel senki más. Nem is csoda, ehhez nem csak meló kell, hanem irgalmatlan elköteleződés. 20 év után is szájtátós, sőt...
An Interactive Fever Dream with Quick-Time Madness
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to star in a movie that starts as a serious thriller, only to suddenly turn into a mix of The Matrix, X-Men, and "What the hell is happening?" Welcome to Fahrenheit! A game that proves no plot twist is too insane and no Quick-Time Event (QTE) is too excessive.
Story
You wake up in a bathroom covered in blood. Did you kill someone? No idea. Time to get out before the cops catch you! Sounds exciting? It is—at least for the first half. After that, the story shifts from a solid thriller to a rollercoaster ride into absurdity.
🔹 You fight invisible forces.
🔹 An ancient secret society is after you.
🔹 And then... things get completely insane, but no spoilers!
If you thought Heavy Rain or Detroit: Become Human were over the top—no, Fahrenheit is the true kingdom of madness.
Strengths and Weaknesses
✔️ A unique experience you won’t forget anytime soon.
✔️ A strong opening with a gripping thriller atmosphere.
✔️ Player agency—your decisions actually matter.
✔️ Mental state mechanics—your character can break down from stress.
✔️ Multiple playable characters, each offering a different perspective.
❌ Quick-Time Events that tangle your brain faster than a Tetris speedrun.
❌ Some QTEs are so intense you might think you accidentally launched Dark Souls.
❌ The controls feel like battling an invisible force—maybe that fits the story?
❌ The second half escalates so hard that even H.P. Lovecraft would say, "Okay, that’s enough!"
Who Should (Not) Play This
✔️ Fans of interactive thrillers with strong story twists.
✔️ Players who see Quick-Time Events as a competitive challenge.
✔️ People who enjoy absurd yet unforgettable story experiences.
❌ Anyone who gets anxiety just hearing the words "Quick-Time Event."
❌ Players expecting a coherent story (Yeah… that’s not happening).
❌ People who believe David Cage is a normal game developer (Spoiler: He’s not).
My Opinion
Fahrenheit is like a bizarre yet highly entertaining fever dream.
At first: Wow, a dark crime thriller!
Midway: Wait, why am I fighting invisible enemies?
By the end: Am I a Jedi now?
It’s not perfect, but it’s unique, crazy, and undeniably fun. If you want to see how David Cage evolved into making Detroit: Become Human—this is where it all started. But be warned: There’s no turning back. 😆
Statistical anomaly: My playtime probably has no relation to the actual length of the game. If you want a mathematically sound estimate, check HowLongToBeat.
Kalbe Dokunan Bir Oyun.Başarıların Devamını Dilerim Quatic Dream.Çünki Sen Bu Oyunla Doğdun
naster nachitlan neka natlie quechitlan naar
nice story overall, but really weird controls lmao. i really didnt know what this game was abt b4 playing it, got it from quantic dream bundle but it turns out a-okay, tbh didnt expect such good storyline from an old game
at first was hesitated too to play bcs of the graphics quality, but wow imagine if this got a new remaster and good graphics like detroit, it would be a triple a game
Fahrenheit was quantic dreams second masterpiece, the first one is Omikron: The Nomad Soul... if your not familliar with the game Omikron go check it out. This is released in 2005 and I think this is the first game in history that has dramatic and epic choice based game. I dont mean to spoil but the first game of quantic dream which is Omikron the nomad soul has choices in dialogues but it has no consequences and multiple endings. Unlike Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls and Detroit Become Human.
the game controls fucking suck balls
I've been trying to review this game for a while, but it's difficult. I did find some enjoyment in my time with Fahrenheit, but not because it has great gameplay or story; rather, the whole game is so absurd and dated that it's impossible not to laugh at it from time to time. This is just one of those cases where an "it's complicated" rating on Steam would be useful.
The story has so many interesting aspects that, in another game, could make for an awesome story. But it gets buried in so much unexplained nonsense about halfway through. Not to mention one of the main playable characters fully disappearing for the end of the game. It's fun, but also frustrating.
I've seen a few other people mentioning the "difficult" QTEs, but don't listen to them. The QTE sections are easy to pass, and you can make several mistakes and get by just fine. I think the actual problem with the QTEs is how they take away from everything else happening on the screen. There are entire fight scenes I barely saw because I was too busy playing the keys for the events, which cover the scene behind them and feel very disconnected from the actions they supposedly cause. Quantic Dream improved on this in their later games.
Overall, Indigo Prophecy is a dated game with a wacky story, simultaneously an enjoyable and frustrating experience. If you think you'd enjoy it, this game is definitely worth a go if you catch it on sale or get it with the Quantic Dream bundle. But I couldn't imagine paying full price for what it is on it's own, or wasting time on it if it's only vaguely interesting to you. There are better games with similar stories and mechanics.
