Originally released in 2005, Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in North America) was a breakthrough in interactive narrative, teetering between the worlds of cinema and gaming while also embracing them, carving its own unique genre in the entertainment landscape. This newly remastered edition features updated graphics, controller support AND is based on the uncut/uncensored international version of the game.
With a rich multilayered narrative, innovative presentation, and a chilling musical score by famed Hollywood composer Angelo Badalamenti, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered serves as the definitive version of the supernatural murder mystery and (re)introduces the groundbreaking title to old and new fans alike.
Features:
• Interactive Drama — An intuitive control scheme and spectacular split-screen presentation complement the game's mysterious noir narrative.
• Extensive Replayability — With branching dialog and multiple endings, each playthrough of the game yields a different outcome.
• Multiple Characters — Take control of the narrative through four different playable characters, each illuminating a different perspective of the story.
• Fully Voiced Script — Every line from the extensive script is voiced by professional actors in English, French, German, and Spanish.
• Cinematic Score — Fahrenheit features a fully orchestrated score composed by Angelo Badalamenti, famous for his extensive work with director David Lynch.
• Uncut version of the game — Unlike the original North American release,
Remastered contains all of the game's original scenes, uncensored and uncut.
Key Upgrades:
• High-definition Graphics — All of the in-game textures have been meticulously recreated in HD for desktop.
• Controller Support — Support for Sony and Microsoft controllers for desktop platforms.
• Live Graphics Comparison — Players can switch between the updated visuals and the original art assets by pressing F9

Pretty honestly, that's a good game even for current generation, with some asterisks.
If you're fan of PS2 style and franchises such as The Walking Dead, Detroit: Become Human or Dark Pictures Anthology series, you'll be pleasantly surprised, if you adjust your expectations accordingly. This games seems to be the grass root operation for this whole genre and feels like it's quite rough all around. The story is quite original and decently written for that era of gaming, keeps you engaging trough whole time.
However, the game has some issues even if you take to consideration the age.
I wouldn't call this remastered, because it feels like it's being held with a lot of duck tape to make it run on modern OS's. There was a well known bug in "The Orphanage" chapter where you get slim chance of completing a long QTE section and still remains in PC port, since it's release, that would've been a good thing to fix for remaster since its fairly common to encounter.
A lot of game mechanics haven't aged gracefully and seems to hinder the experience extensively. QTE's are the worst part of this game and its basically half of it. Your vision is focused on 2 circles in dead center that represents basically nothing and for the most seems to be random, not corresponding with whats happening in background.
There's only one story line that only slightly you can change during play trough but not enough to call it choose your own adventure game. The story especially at the end seems to be rushed while introducing a lot of key points without proper setups for the most part or are poorly explained. I even once softlocked whole save by playing as clean as possible with Markus, not leaving any evidences and collecting less than minimum as both Carla and Tyler. In sequence, where Carla was meant to connect the material together, nothing was working and she was resigning, thus softlocking it. How did that went trough initial QA? Game has tendencies to crash at random. Stealth segments are really stiff. When playing on controller, there was annoying glitch while character movement: when camera angle changes and you still hold forward, the person walks in way different way, it's fairly common too.
Overall, pretty decent if you're ready to adjust your expectations and likes to play some throwback style games.
For the current price it's a good game

Worst sex scene in visual media/10
great game - worth it on hard mode.
This game is absolutely hilarious, a must play.
Gotta be the worst ending to a good start ever. Playing as Neo and Goku on mushrooms bro.
Is a classic with a gripping, though weird, story. It kept me hooked.
What did i Just play ? Matrix, aliens, AI, Ghost, FK mayan aztecs god & black people in -60 C this game its wild but cool experience.
A weird game, even for David Cage. There are weird moments and the tone feels really off at times. The dialogue is also pretty bad and cheesy. The QTEs are also awkward until you get the hang of it. Oh and the controls are pretty awful. Since it's an older game, it was difficult for the game to launch without crashing. But wow did I still kind of dig this... It's definitely the weakest Quantic Dreams game, but I'm still a sucker for them.
Zsánerteremtő, amit soha nem vett fel senki más. Nem is csoda, ehhez nem csak meló kell, hanem irgalmatlan elköteleződés. 20 év után is szájtátós, sőt...
An Interactive Fever Dream with Quick-Time Madness
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to star in a movie that starts as a serious thriller, only to suddenly turn into a mix of The Matrix, X-Men, and "What the hell is happening?" Welcome to Fahrenheit! A game that proves no plot twist is too insane and no Quick-Time Event (QTE) is too excessive.
Story
You wake up in a bathroom covered in blood. Did you kill someone? No idea. Time to get out before the cops catch you! Sounds exciting? It is—at least for the first half. After that, the story shifts from a solid thriller to a rollercoaster ride into absurdity.
🔹 You fight invisible forces.
🔹 An ancient secret society is after you.
🔹 And then... things get completely insane, but no spoilers!
If you thought Heavy Rain or Detroit: Become Human were over the top—no, Fahrenheit is the true kingdom of madness.
Strengths and Weaknesses
✔️ A unique experience you won’t forget anytime soon.
✔️ A strong opening with a gripping thriller atmosphere.
✔️ Player agency—your decisions actually matter.
✔️ Mental state mechanics—your character can break down from stress.
✔️ Multiple playable characters, each offering a different perspective.
❌ Quick-Time Events that tangle your brain faster than a Tetris speedrun.
❌ Some QTEs are so intense you might think you accidentally launched Dark Souls.
❌ The controls feel like battling an invisible force—maybe that fits the story?
❌ The second half escalates so hard that even H.P. Lovecraft would say, "Okay, that’s enough!"
Who Should (Not) Play This
✔️ Fans of interactive thrillers with strong story twists.
✔️ Players who see Quick-Time Events as a competitive challenge.
✔️ People who enjoy absurd yet unforgettable story experiences.
❌ Anyone who gets anxiety just hearing the words "Quick-Time Event."
❌ Players expecting a coherent story (Yeah… that’s not happening).
❌ People who believe David Cage is a normal game developer (Spoiler: He’s not).
My Opinion
Fahrenheit is like a bizarre yet highly entertaining fever dream.
At first: Wow, a dark crime thriller!
Midway: Wait, why am I fighting invisible enemies?
By the end: Am I a Jedi now?
It’s not perfect, but it’s unique, crazy, and undeniably fun. If you want to see how David Cage evolved into making Detroit: Become Human—this is where it all started. But be warned: There’s no turning back. 😆
Statistical anomaly: My playtime probably has no relation to the actual length of the game. If you want a mathematically sound estimate, check HowLongToBeat.

nice story overall, but really weird controls lmao. i really didnt know what this game was abt b4 playing it, got it from quantic dream bundle but it turns out a-okay, tbh didnt expect such good storyline from an old game
at first was hesitated too to play bcs of the graphics quality, but wow imagine if this got a new remaster and good graphics like detroit, it would be a triple a game
Fahrenheit was quantic dreams second masterpiece, the first one is Omikron: The Nomad Soul... if your not familliar with the game Omikron go check it out. This is released in 2005 and I think this is the first game in history that has dramatic and epic choice based game. I dont mean to spoil but the first game of quantic dream which is Omikron the nomad soul has choices in dialogues but it has no consequences and multiple endings. Unlike Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls and Detroit Become Human.
the game controls fucking suck balls
I've been trying to review this game for a while, but it's difficult. I did find some enjoyment in my time with Fahrenheit, but not because it has great gameplay or story; rather, the whole game is so absurd and dated that it's impossible not to laugh at it from time to time. This is just one of those cases where an "it's complicated" rating on Steam would be useful.
The story has so many interesting aspects that, in another game, could make for an awesome story. But it gets buried in so much unexplained nonsense about halfway through. Not to mention one of the main playable characters fully disappearing for the end of the game. It's fun, but also frustrating.
I've seen a few other people mentioning the "difficult" QTEs, but don't listen to them. The QTE sections are easy to pass, and you can make several mistakes and get by just fine. I think the actual problem with the QTEs is how they take away from everything else happening on the screen. There are entire fight scenes I barely saw because I was too busy playing the keys for the events, which cover the scene behind them and feel very disconnected from the actions they supposedly cause. Quantic Dream improved on this in their later games.
Overall, Indigo Prophecy is a dated game with a wacky story, simultaneously an enjoyable and frustrating experience. If you think you'd enjoy it, this game is definitely worth a go if you catch it on sale or get it with the Quantic Dream bundle. But I couldn't imagine paying full price for what it is on it's own, or wasting time on it if it's only vaguely interesting to you. There are better games with similar stories and mechanics.
its a pretty good schizo simulator and seems to have a "eeh it's fine" out of 10 horror movie plot, i would have kept playing if it wasnt for the forced stealth section ( that's kinda painful because of the 3rd person camera)
I fell for this game. Young people ( like me) must play these games; you can see the passion and love in it. Even in 2025, it didn't feel old ı haven't yet played Heavy Rain, so until that time, it was the best interactive movie game ı played. Also, it feels more like a game than a movie, and because of that, it's better than Detroit Become Human, in my opinion.
Game is enjoyable if you are a fan of Quantic Dream's other games. The game is definitely clunky, and the story gets kinda wack near the end, but it's an overall enjoyable experience.
All in all, I'd give it a 7.5/10.
The usual format for developers, even if this is their first project. We play as a victim with certain problems, and at the same time we play as the police, or something like that, solving some crime. They will tell us about this throughout the story.
Am I saying this is the developers' usual format? Well, the game Beyond: Two Souls doesn't boast of that, but it's a little different in this regard.
Now let's talk about the game itself, and why I don't recommend it? The game is simply terrible. And at least one interesting plot is not enough, because the plot itself is not enough when there should be gameplay. And the gameplay here is very terrible. QTE is performed using WASD control and mouse movement. And even if I played on a gamepad, it would be a little easier to control the sticks (because I couldn't play on the gamepad for some reason), but on computer equipment it is... terrible. And the character control itself is terrible too.
Despite the game's more interesting plot, I don't recommend playing this game with such terrible gameplay. And I haven't even mentioned how the conversation choices are made here.
Graphics don't make the game. Its a good game with a good story and yes the graphics remind you of the time it was released but it doesn't affect gameplay at all.
The quick time events can become tedious at times but that didnt ruin my experience playing this game
A timeless classic! This 2004 game still delivers a gripping narrative, memorable characters, and innovative gameplay. Recommended for fans of interactive dramas and action-adventure games.
I only recommend this game to those who play it solely for the story and do not care about the gameplay or the graphics.
The main issues with this game lie in the graphics and the gameplay mechanics, which feel very outdated.
It use tank controls. While focusing on the story, QTEs often appear and divert your attention.
Autistic man gets irradiated and becomes Neo from the matrix movie directed by the Wachowski brothers.
It starts off interesting but turns into a total clownshow when the supernatural elements start getting introduced. You play as Lucas, Carla and Tyler. Tyler is a cool black guy that listens to motown and plays basketball. Incredible stuff by David Cage right here.
Lucas works in IT. He also gets mindcontrolled into killing someone, and then detective Carla has to go after him.
But it starts off alright with you trying to avoid getting caught by the police and then you as the police try to catch yourself, bit of a conflict of interest there but either way it works. But then the supernatural, illuminati jewish global elites that try to enslave humanity plotline gets introduced and everything falls apart. It feels like David Cage watched the matrix, Day after tomorrow, Neon genesis evangelion and then played Metal gear solid, Deus ex and put all of them into one game. And he added simon says QTEs. Revolutionary stuff. Also Carla falls in love with the autistic superhero Lucas at the end for some reason despite there being literally no chemistry between them.
This game is too smart for you, too smart for all of us! Is it good? Is it bad? I don't know and neither do you! David Cage doesn't play by the rules of us mere mortals.
I don't remember when I saw the light. Perhaps it was after Lucas got punched by an angel statue or when he turned into a reanimated corpse, got into a matrix-style fight on a roof top and then had ice-cold corpse-sex with the female protagonist after masterfully seducing her in a cemetary within 5 minutes. At some point the David-Cageness truly overwhelmed me. 🙏
What the hell does it mean? Is it brilliant? Is it stupid? Why are there Cyborgs? What would Nietzsche say? - I have no fucking idea. I'm sure David would know. He put a Nietzsche book in the game, that means it's deep. I just don't know! And that's beautiful...right?
How do you keep doing it Dave? And how can we stop you? ...Should we stop you? 🤔 - Can such boundless hypothetical sophistication even be stopped?
начиналось очень хорошо, но к середине игры всё стало просто смешно, и бесит что когда проигрывают катсцену нужно постоянно жать на кнопки. В общем игра интересная, стоит того
Gameplay:
In the game we follow the fate of a man who - as we know from the introduction to the game - murdered a man under the influence of an unknown force. We also see an investigation conducted by detectives, which we also lead by playing alternately as the murderer and detectives. The game has arcade elements, and our choices can affect the game to some extent.
Liquidity:
There are no problems with liquidity.
Graphics:
The graphics - for the time of the game's release - are really good. Of course, they are very outdated for today. The game is from a third-person perspective.
Sound effects:
The music and sound effects have an incredible impact on the plot. The voice actors are well chosen and reflect the character of the characters.
Opinion:
Until halfway through the game I wondered why it wasn't more popular. The plot was great, incredibly engaging and exciting. And then the paranormal powers came and destroyed everything. Of course, something about the paranormal powers was known from the beginning, but they were introduced gradually and very smoothly entered the plot. Until a certain point, after which the game lost its atmosphere and stopped being what I loved it for at first. The ending itself is incredibly disappointing and after playing the first chapter I would never have said that this game would end like this. So I have mixed feelings, but in the end I think I can recommend this game to those who like to get into the atmosphere of psychological thrillers with a warning that the end of the game is disappointing.
the game starts off with a pretty gripping hook, which it proceeds to slowly lose through questionable story beats and goofy fight sequences that i can't help but laugh at the further i got. the first 1/3 of the game is great though, i'd say it's worth it if you can get it on sale for dirt cheap!
Don’t play this game unless:
a) You have masochistic tendencies,
b) You enjoy old games.
The game tells a very intriguing story that keeps you engaged. The music, editing and cutscenes can be genuinely impressive (by 2005 standards, of course). But that’s about it for the positives.
The graphics haven’t aged well. While this isn’t always a dealbreaker, the facial animations of the characters are downright laughable and can ruin the immersion (e.g., when someone’s mouth suddenly stretches into a banana-like shape only to snap back to normal).
The QTEs (Quick Time Events) are terribly executed. Not only do they pop up in the most unexpected and nonsensical moments (for example, the developers apparently decided that one particular conversation was too slow, so they shoehorned in random button-mashing between lines of dialogue), but I also found them quite difficult, even on the easy difficulty setting (though that might just be a matter of getting used to them).
The camera work is also frustrating. It frequently makes your head spin and leaves you unsure of where to go or what to do.
My ratings:
Gameplay: 4/10 (x3)
Story: 8/10 (x3)
Graphics: 5/10 (x2)
Sound and music: 7/10 (x2)
+1 point for the game’s atmosphere
Overall score: 7/10
I recommend buying it on sale, provided you’re not bothered by the game’s age. It took me 12 hours to complete the game and earn all 17 achievements.
Fahrenheit is a game about people who are in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Fahrenheit is the first interactive movie created by the Quantic Dream studio, at least as far as I know.
I've known about this game since I was a kid, my mom used to play it on our PS2 when I was 6 and cant finish it because of job, and then the console was sold, so now I'm really glad we were able to play it together.
From the very beginning, I thought it was a game about a simple guy who lost his mind and was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, but in reality everything turned out to be much more complicated, with elements of mysticism and magic, I can't say that I'm disappointed by this, but I would not be against the first option.
Maybe my opinion will be biased, because I have very pleasant memories with this game, but I will try to write everything as it is.
The plot in the game is not the most interesting, but it is presented perfectly, moments when we see the situation from the face of two or more characters at the same time, or the main character begins to see visions, gave me goosebumps.
The gameplay is quite interesting for an interactive movie, I played with keyboard and mouse so I will speak for the controls, I liked the idea of moving the mouse in different directions for specific actions, the qte are not bad, but when you die near the end of a particularly long one it can be very boring to go through it the second time, the camera control is like in old games (which it is), it may not be convenient for someone, but I got used to it very quickly.
I'm not interested in the graphics, so I can't say anything about it, but it seems to me that it's not bad for 2005 (I don't know if it was changed in the remaster, so I took the date of the first release)
So, Fahrenheit is not a bad game, especially if you take it as a first try in this genre, from this studio I've only played it and Detroit on PS4, and I think it's not bad, especially for its discounted price, I advise everyone to check it out the first game from the studio and I give it 8\10.
Even though the graphics are bad, the story is interesting. You should play it for the story.
Was kinda cool story except the last part whan story becomes absoliutly wild abomination.
And prepare for one of the worst quick time events in gaming history.
Still good game for 2 euros on sale.
This is The Room of video games, and I love it.
Around an 8 hour ago but became 15 hours for me after I accidentally deleted my save several times/not setting up a save account.
I just beat Fahrenheit and, despite Cage's best efforts, it's a loopy masterpiece. Please understand that most of Fahrenheit is one huge misfire after another in the sense that the gameplay is maddening and poorly designed, and the narrative is kinda hokey and conventional until the last act when it all, somehow effortlessly, comes beautifully together. Like it was a plan even though I really doubt it was. Great and surprising game. That said, I doubt I'll ever play it again lolz.
Its a story based interactive game. Its an old game so the visuals are outdated but the story, the characters, the dialogues are very well written and the gameplay is really fun. Overall a very good game and totally worth playing.
almost every david cage game is worth trying out and beating once, and this game is no exception, although its baffling and much less non-linear than it lets on.
Lucas Kane is a poor bank IT worker sap gets possessed by something or someone and is forced to commit a ritualistic murder in a New York City diner bathroom. This causes him some obvious distress and now he must try to be unsuspicious as he leaves the diner, possibly having hidden the body and weapon.
Detectives Carla Valenti and her partner Tyler Miles are called to investigate the scene and begin to piece together the crime, and the rest of the first two thirds are a pretty straightforward game where Lucas tries to cope, suppress his own childhood trauma, and himself investigate what possessed him, where Carla and Tyler remain on his tail and investigate who he could be.
Pros:
-story goes places and is consistently fun and twisty
-general gameplay is solid, being a mix of quicktime events, controller/keyboard interactions, and thumbstick wiggles that works for the most part in emulating the motion of whatever action the game wants you to do.
-full of variety and i like how action really takes a backseat to managing anxieties and investigation
-anxiety system is not great but for sure novel--every character has a "stress" level to manage and stuff like failed interactions or the wrong interactions deplete to a point of failure, where your character takes their own life. Later Quantic Games take character death into account, but this game is just a straight fail if anyone dies or goes crazy.
-often on sale for VERY cheap
Cons:
-dated even for 2005; QD was a low grade AA developer, surviving despite having blown their last game's budget on its admittedly fantastic David Bowie soundtrack and cameo (omikron is also a worthwile game for its time, dont get me wrong)
-Heavy Rain suffers worse from this issue, but its a french studio writing english dialogue, it doesnt really work.
-final third of the game is just bad.
Emotional and complex story. Gameplay is simple (but the decisions are not) and you need to be quick with the keys. If you liked other games from the Quantic Dream collection you will like this one.
I played this game 20 years ago, could barely remember anything. Graphics are nice, very charming old skool touch.
Story and Characters are well written, gameplay has some cool action elements to it.
If you can get the game on sale for 2$ I would say insta buy it. If you're not sure if you wanna pay 10$, if you are into film noire, into narrative stoy telling games this game is for you.
For a quiet old game I liked it a lot the story was kinda cool the only downside for me was that the skill checks felt kinda long or unnecessary sometimes but overall I would give it like an 8/10
Carla best Girl
this game is very unique and has a good story, but unbelievable frustrating.
the controls are catastrophic and there are for several years now game breaking bugs in there.
requested refund.
broken and unplayable but nice music to accompany the black screen after the logos
Despite the weird plot in the 2nd half, it is still a great interactive movie classic. It is a slightly modernized improvement over the original. But if you played the original already, the remaster is barely noticeable. Just a few QoL and texture changes
I unironically love this game, it's a wild trip and I played it during a winter holiday snowstorm going in completely blind as my first David Cage game.
Very underrated game. It is obviously inspired by the movie "The Matrix" (1999), the game "Max Payne" (2001) and sometimes it reminds me of the classical "Resident Evil" games. It has distinct characters and desperate atmosphere of the cyberpunk of the late '90s. Game has interesting lore, character development and several endings based on decisions you make. I really have enjoyed Fahrenheit.
Arguably Quantic's only good game.
Has some silly segments that make you wonder why you're even playing this game but finishing this and getting the full story got you wondering if you're still alive or flatlining on krokodil and dreaming this up.
This quickly goes from a Max Payne detective novel to the Matrix sequel that it actually deserved.
One of the few games that made me look past all the goofy stuff that would normally make me drop any piece of media immediately. Standing in place and dodging flying bookshelves while escaping Lovecraftian Freddy Krueger feels just right at home in this beautiful product of a gritty and explicit era of storytelling.
They managed to turn a noir criminal story to fucking matrix somehow.
I first watched this game when PewDiePie played it and now I am old enough to be able to purchase it and play it. Honestly I like the game because it is something from my childhood and my major is game design. All in all the game is easy and fun to play. Does the story make sense? no not at all. Is it something you should play and give a chance? Yes I do. If you have played this studios more popular games you should at least play this game because it is the starter for this studios game.
This actually starts out pretty interesting but then there's a total tonal shift midway through the game with absolutely no warning and what happens is comedy gold.
