Об игре
«Метро-2: Смерть вождя» — продолжение игры «Метро-2». Минул один год с момента окончания оригинальной игры: Глеб Суворов и Лена Лапина сочетались узами брака, Наташа Михалева вернулась в строй после ранения, а Отец народов, Иосиф Сталин, отошел в мир иной. В высших эшелонах власти началась борьба за руководство страной.В прошлом заговор Берии провалился только из-за вмешательства Глеба и Лены. И после смерти вождя Лаврентий Павлович решает отомстить людям, помешавших ему в прошлом, приказывая Наташе Михалевой арестовать Суворовых. Однако ей удается захватить Глеба, Лена же, вовремя предупрежденная о готовящейся акции, успевает сбежать. Теперь она должна найти своего мужа и выбраться из Москвы.

This game is an absolute fucking wreck compared to the first one. You would expect a mildly difficult game in its continuity to get better, but no. The voice acting sounds horrible, the soldiers on the first level sound like Irishmen, and Lavrentiy Beria's voice... It's like everything that made this game special got downgraded! I can't even beat the level where we are driving around at the Red Square. Weren't there any testers for this game in particular?
Nonetheless, I will avenge this game one day, I tell you. I won't let myself be a victim of the game's little tricks up its sleeve.

Not as good as the first one but still a decent time just dont play on hard and remember for the car part type in god 1
and god 0 when its over.
Not too bad from what I remember. I enjoyed the run through. Always willing to try a WWII shooter. This one has some old school graphics. At least you are able to finish it. I've played worse games with more problems from big brand names.
The Stalin Subway: Red Veil is an ancient game from 2006. It's a whopping 18 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge, or just a cash grab to try profit from abandonware.
It's a Russian story/narrative driven FPS where you shoot a variety of Stalinesque baddies in a variety of delapidated Russian environments, only badly. Really, first person perspective is the most immersive way to make any game, and if done right it's the clearest pathway to being the best of the best. If done right. This wasn't. It wasn't futureproofed, it was slammed out fast so they could get paid. And so it's weathered the years badly.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.
The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio, due to the age of the game, it predates the 16:9 widescreen gaming standard established back in 2006. It's possible they're marketing this towards people using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game is being specifically marketed towards people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. It's obviously not going to look right on a modern 16:9 gaming display.
The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?
The Stalin Subway: Red Veil is relatively expensive for an abandonware nostalgia gouge, at $3 USD, and it's not worth it. The game is just too old, hasn't been modernised. And as the old saying goes, you can't go home again. Even when it was new, this was never a triple-A game. This is the kind of game that went almost directly from the warehouse into the cheap bargain bins at the front of the shop. Now, on Steam, without any modernisation? This is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
