About the Game
After decades of toil, an old machinist plots his escape from the oppressive grasp of the Communist regime. Through hidden passages, shadow and grief, he struggles. Ingenuity, reflexes and deception are his tools. Along the road, he befriends the most unlikely creature, an abandoned little robot. Could they escape this bleak and deadly world, together?

Played it on steamdeck. 10/10
I think it is a great game. I do not agree with the negative comments. The game was sliding. I liked the puzzles. I checked 1-2 times and I did not regret checking. Overall atmosphere is good. Play it if you liked Inside, Limbo, Little nightmares etc.

Annoying stop and go principle. You get to an new area, instantly fail it and solve it and move to another and rinse repeat.
Game gives zero room for error which just comes as out as real dick move from the dev. The game expects always ridiciolous amount of knowledge from you without yet knowing what to do. There is no natural build up of flow and fluidity in here.
This is just continous jerkiness from start to finish. So it's just annoying and un-interesting in the end. There are way better games available out there in this genre.
This isn't a bad game, but there are plenty of others that I would suggest before I recommend this one.
It had a couple of good moments but some of the puzzles were not...I'm not sure how to explain it, but it was more like trying random things instead of understanding the mechanics you had learned and building on them. A couple of random puzzles used a 2.5D approach, which was a bit out of the blue.
The controls were also a bit rough. Games like this I prefer to use a controller, but the control schema was weird. I never really felt like I had a good grasp on what did what. Like holding right trigger to run was just really weird to me, for example. Also, trying to aim the laser pointer with the right stick was painful and slow, which was especially annoying when a puzzle required you to aim and move very quickly. I eventually ended up using a combination of controller and mouse to effectively aim use the mouse pointer.
If you've played wither Inside or Limbo and are looking for something with the same look and feel then Black the Fall is a must.
There's now much to say except its a great game. Not too long, interesting puzzles and a distinctive colour pallet.
