An amazing game, happy to finally be able to play through entirety of the game I once only could play bits of in the browers with my brother.
One issue I will honestly say is the price, I did catch it on very very heavy 90% discount, a flash game that is two decades old should not keep a 20 $ pricetag.
back to memory lane, bought the game during sales for $5
Genuine masterpiece..
Very fun and addicting. Also you cannot find any writing with this sort of charm anymore these days, ITS EXTINCT. I enjoy the combat as well even though its quite simple. Its one of the best flash games ever made imo.. a piece of history. Buy when its on sale tho
Bought this to deliver a PSA: if you download flashpoint, you can play this game for free. Not the director's cut, but it's basically the same :shaka:
so worth
Best flash game ever made
Don’t fall for nostalgia. Save yourself the regret—don’t waste your money.
Awful game.
Even a browser-based Stick RPG from 2008–2010 was leagues better.
Feels like a totally different team made this. Money down the drain.
Loved this game back in the day. I'm happy to report that nothing has changed on that front! The director's cut content makes things even better this time round. Wait for a sale though.
get it on sale, only like 5 hours worth of content realistically but nostalgia makes me love this game
Not worth it, there's bugs that SHOULD NOT exist for a game that is $20. Even at $6, I would say it's a bit steep
First game review - CAN NOT SAVE PROGRESS!!
With that said, I Love this mf game. Absolute throw back to the original Stick RPG. Deleted 4.9 hours from my life racking up cash and getting huss. I'm absolutely bent that I can't save progress since XGen shut down and you can no longer create an XGen account. Only reason I'd avoid buying this game if it's not on sale.
Only get the game when it's on sale for $5.99. Overall it's a great classic game to come back from time to time.
Charging $25 CAD for a 14-year-old game is criminal.
That said, it went on sale for around $8 CAD, and I figured that was low enough to justify the purchase.
Sadly, I am very torn on this review, as I did have a lot of fun, but there's little to no replayability here, plus I do believe even $8 CAD is too high, especially when you can play the flash build for free. This build (Directors Cut) includes some extra content which involves new jobs, new weapons, and a couple random side quests but besides that, you really aren't missing much. It's basically a bunch of late game padding.
I was going to 100% the achievements/trophies but they are so tedious and grindy I gave up after like day 100, so that's also going to bring down my opinion of the game.
It's times like these where I wish that steam had a star rating instead of just like or not, so alas, I'll include this in my likes, as I did enjoy playing it, and the good outweighs the negative.
Under no circumstances pay $20 for this game, got it on sale bc it's a classic. If you're here you probably already played the game before and know what you're about so I'll leave you to it.
I bought this to fulfill my childhood dream. I wasn't able to buy it when I was only around 9, and I remember I was so desperate to understand what a director's cut even is. And in the end when I finally understood it, I did not have the money, I was really sad, and I kinda gave up and forgot about this game. But after 10 years I all of a sudden noticed this game on my steam home page, then I immediately bought it. it's quite old and not so "fancy" compare to the games nowadays, but despite all that, It's still quite a fun and special game to me. I wish more people have played it though.
Ok look this is not a easy choice while i do like the game its really outdated graphics wont save you cant even go in the full screen thats also busted and cost is high yes i do think it will take you more then one day to play the game but even then for 10 euros its a big ask i would recomend to get the game only during steam sales as its base price is just too much for a game thats not even patched not to mention its already old
I REALLY like this game. It's one of the best flash games ever made. But I can't realistically justify buying it unless it's on sale, as you can literally buy The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion with all the DLC and other games like that for the same price as this game.
With that being said...
This is one of the OG dopamine-like-crack-for-your-brain type of games. This is largely driven by an unavoidable sense of progression throughout every aspect in the game. You do a thing, you are rewarded more and more for doing a thing, you get a thing, to do another thing, your stats go up for a thing to do another thing. If you read that and are the type of person that thought, oh fuck yeah. You'll enjoy the game.
A sequel building and adding to all the gameplay elements in this but with like the depth of Terraria or something like that while not being limited by flash would be a goated game.
amazing game
A GREAT FOLLOW UP TO THE ORIGINAL. USED TO PLAY THE FIRST GAME ALL THE TIME AS A KID, NOW WE JUST NEED A THIRD ONE!
Don't get me wrong. This is an AMAZING game. Its definitely worth the time to play. However, 20 dollars for a game with less than 5 hours of content is upsetting. The game is genuinely fun, even though you cant play Stick RPG 1 anymore, now that Flash is gone. Good game, yes. $20? Not worth it, sorry. (Remaster 1 for HD, PLEASE.)
One of my favorite pc games I've ever played! I grew up playing this game, it felt like finding a needle in a haystack back then. Exactly the type of style of game I wanted to play & I found it. You have all these different job types, things to do, explore & legit live day to day as a stick man & build cash + beat people up. Some downsides, the price - this game was free back then & I had to pay $20 just to relive this game again & another downside is full screen isn't actually full screen. It enlarges the screen but there's still a giant void of a black boarder around the whole screen. That was a huge let down & I hope it gets corrected. Other than that it's super fun, a lot of play time to be had.
Best grinder
we need MOAR....
Just really, really tedious overall. Around 80% of your time in-game is spent going from place to place.
Back in (what was it?) - around 2008? This was THEE Flash game to play. Anyone who grew up playing Stick RPG: The Complete Edition treasured this icon. But sadly, the devs expect $20 a copy in 2024, nearly twenty years after it, a free Flash game (minus the additional island) released. Not much has changed, and the devs went inactive years and years ago. Not worth the $20, unless you want to reference the game for R&D like I did - for my own game heavily inspired by the series.
It was a hit pre-2010. But we're approaching 2030, and it's just not relevant anymore.
If the price was lowered to even 4.99, I'd highly recommend people buy it. But I just can't, at around $20 a copy.
i love playing the slots
"i have found a cure for obesity, i call it exercise!"
- stickman i forget the name of
needless to say, this game was worth the price.
Worth it if it is on sale. Otherwise, wait a few months until it goes on sale. 6.99 is a decent price, but it would be even more worth it at $4.99. It's an old game, to be fair, and you can beat it in a few hours.
amzing game bet on unicornileus
classic game
l game
fun
Childhood memories
worth going through has a good amount of content. will play again.
Really a classic nostalgic title, yet not worth full price in BRL.
ps. would be cool if they added steam achievements at the very least...
tgis looks like my dream game. can't wait to play it with my unborn daughter. great game, keep it up! Tommy Resin.
gud game
i played this game for the first time in 2014 when i was a kid......... time is damn fast
.
Still one of my favorite games after all these years.
Is this worth 20 dollars? No.
Is this worth less than 10 dollars? Yes.
Literally my childhood in a game. The only thing I wish they added was steam achievements. Fantastic game nonetheless.
fun game
only buy if its on sale
yes
Just as good as I remember it but wait for a sale. Trust me this game ain't worth $20.
Was gipped
Turned a leaf blower into a flamethrower and used it to take down the mob, just as good as I remember. 10/10
not worth the price tag just too little in this one.
The good old days
I used to play this game as a kid on xgenstudios when flash games were all the rage. Its definitely nostalgic for me but at the same time its just a fun game. Tons of random little things to discover and figure out. I've actually never beat it so I'm looking forward to that.
