Platypus creator, Anthony Flack, has got the license back for Platypus!
We've put together a small team, Claymatic Games, and are doing more stop-motion games. Our first is an all action brawler for 1 to 8 players called Clodhoppers. We'll also be doing a remastered version of Platypus!

About the Game
Platypus is a fast, frantic and fun arcade-style shoot-em-up!!The vast continent-spanning city of Collosatropolis has finally reached the limits of its expansion. Tall buildings cover every available space. The air is thick with smoke and poisonous chemicals. Parking is a nightmare.
The Collosotropolan leaders have decided the simplest solution is to invade the neighbouring country of Mungola. They don't anticipate much of a struggle - Mungolans are simple, earthy types without much love for industry. In fact, Mungola's entire defence force consists of a single squadron of fighter planes - the venerable F-27 "Platypus".
What possible threat could a few antique aircraft be to the mighty Collosotropolan Battle Fleet...?
To the Mungolan people the venerable F-27 "Platypus" is their last best hope for freedom!

Plays just like I remember it
Except I had forgotten how hard a game it is
Good old times, a complete game that doesn't cost the price of a liver.
Simple but challenging, a game that I never forgot despite the years.

So basically i have downloaded it on my window 11 but when I tried to launch it it gave me a message "Unable to set graphic mode" like can someone help me because I really wanna play this game
Good game, it has some Arcade Japanese vibe.
But I want devs to fix some of this issues from old 2002 before the launch of Platypus Reclayed.
1. Make the player ships hitbox smaller and slower the enemy bullets speed, because in Hard mode it's nearly impossible to dodge some sort of attack patterns.
2. Some elements make a Blindspot especially on the bottom of the gameplay, Clouds & Trees or others hide the view of enemies and their bullets, when player ship stay behind or inside, should make them transparent.

1. DOWNLOAD dgVoodoo 2 program:

2. PUT FILES FROM dgVodoo2 in your game install folder.
3. PUT FILES FROM dgVodoo2 from "from the archive MS\x86 folder to the same folder where your game executable is in. If it's a 32bit DirectX application then copy" - as instructed on their website.
-files should be DDraw D3DImm D3D9 D3D8
4. RUN dgVodooCpl.exe

Config folder should be your game root folder (where your platypus.exe is) eg <

Full Screen Stretched - (Personal prefferences)
Keep Window Aspect Ratio - unchecked (Personal prefferences)

I disabled force V sync
and disabled mipmapping -

I left it default and I click apply.
5. RUN Platypus.exe
6. ENJOY
side notes:
if you have 2 screens have task manager on 2nd screen just in case something goes south
you may experience sporatic but non annoying sound bugs during gameplay
you may experience sound glitches on startup and on menu... buuut its not gameplay affecting soooooo...
you may need to lower the game volume from windows sound mixer for a more pleasant listening experience.

A game of my childhood and brings a lot of nostalgia when I played this on my old PC. The gameplay, the music, and everything on this game is just pure perfection.
One of the hardest games I've ever played, really fun and satisfying. Only gripe is that there are no audio controls and you cannot alt+tab. 7/10
Fantastic game from my childhood, but is in dire need of some updates for more modern PCs. Can very easily crash. XBox 360 version is a bit better, but for true nostalgia I recommend this one.

You can play co-op using keyboard and mouse only. Better than platypus II
