Описание

Infinite Scuba is a relaxing, beautiful, non-fiction scuba-diving experience, so players do what real divers do - explore real-world locations, identify wildlife, search for sunken artifacts, take photos, and clean up the reef.

  • All of the locations, wildlife, gear, and science are real and reflect the serenity, beauty, and thrill of diving in the real world.
  • As players find animals and artifacts or complete other tasks in the water, they unlock Knowledge Rewards that tell more about the wildlife, local history, local culture, and environmental issues.
  • We are divers ourselves and we want to help people learn about what lives in the ocean and how/why they should protect it.
  • We go to great lengths to ensure the integrity of the experience, working with scientists and divemasters who are experts in each region to make sure the dive sites are as real as we can make them.

Partners

  • We’re excited to work with the legendary Dr. Sylvia Earle (National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, Time Magazine Hero for the Planet, founder of Mission Blue, a pioneer in oceanographic research starting back in the 1950s). Sylvia and her crew help us ensure the accuracy of the environmental information we present.
  • We also work with the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA) and over 20 dive equipment manufacturers to make sure the gear looks and behaves as it does IRL.

if you are a learning diver and your a sim enthousiast then you will like this. it is not GTA5. if you buy the game then you get 500 clams. you can buy the second underwater site with new animals and plants to discover and learn.
dont spend it on clothes or gear. just use the 500 to unlock the extra site belize.
the water drags you and theres some sort of simulation. space and left control is to accent and decent and you can swim. it takes some time to discover the game and how to enjoy it. you yourselve have to mimic what you learned in padi or nelos or any divingclub or organisation. you gat achievments for what you do and do right and fault :) i full hardcore mode coulde be imlplented with inflating the jacket and deflating. space up and ctrl down is somwhat it now. as you decent with swiming or decent then the air gets smaller in the vest and you start to decent faster. this would be mimicable with somekind of a formula of depth and pressure and boyancy. i havent tried to get a barotrauma or decompresion accident in the game yet so i dont know if its possible. like clearing ears and filing the mask with air trough nose for decent is what i have to imagine in the game. on acent its just the acent rate, not faster than the bubles and when blowing out. the game gives you the possibilety to learn abaut the dangerous fauna and flora in the ocean. theres some info in the game with real pictures if you have found them in the game while you ware diving. on both sites there are small games, search missions. like you do in real life :) by completing them you unlock acheavments and new gear. so far i understand neg reviews of poeple that are used to gta5, full fledge and arcade games. but i have been playing games that were far more wurse than this. infinite scube is worth the 10 euros, yes it is if you are a beginner diver or diver rescuer ( dangerous faune flora ). what gives this game a 10/10 is that i have a steeringwheel and a joystick and throttlequadrant. and normaly with bad games they ruin the controls. the pedals of the steeringwheel makes the character do infinite turns and having no option to disable that that problem made do several refunds. i dont want to unplug my whole sim setup to play a game. but this game has not that problem and it did not crash and i havent seen any bug. this is a propper game. i only prey for metric gauges and dutch translation and the trimsvest simulation :) buy i like it

First off this game on steam IS NOT the same game they've got out on their website. The steam version is behind in many ways. Right now on steam the games not good, and really needs to be updated. You can buy clams for things but the game won't take the money from your steam wallet or add any clams so there's not really much to do. So either wait for it to be fully out or maybe buy from their site and hope the games in better shape there. All this said I'll keep checking back as the game get's updated and change my review as needed. I really hope this game becomes something great.
Update it's been 2 years and no change of any kind. https://www.infinitescuba.com/news is the site for the game and they have posted no form of updates about the game. At this point I fully believe this is abandoned and DON"T RECOMMEND this "game" to anyone.

Great that you guys are making a scuba game, it looks nice. First feeling is that the game would be more fun if the controls were more similar to how you can dive. For example being able to swim to the right/left (straffing in games) or also just being able to stand up but still swim down by releasing air from your vest. For me also an Xbox controller did not work and the mouse controls were not so pleasant.

Nothing infinite about it. Clunky, unintuivative controls make the game fursturating to play and difficult to enjoy. There are currently only two dive spots, and one of them is locked behind a pay wall, in addition to all the other micro transactions for things like diffrent types of scuba gear.

There are a number of diver avatars to choose from, I just hope your a woman though, because there are no male avatars as far as i can tell.

I'm a PADI certified rescue diver so I can definatly appreciate what they were going for, but this game needs much more polish and base content before it is actually released.

If your looking for a decent scuba game on Steam, i'd recomend World of Diving. It's a perpetually half finished abandonware title, but it still has more to offer than Infinite Scuba.

Great SCUBA simulation game. It's pretty realistic for a early access game. It's worth the $12.99 price tag. Real life destinations , and with sponsers such as SCUBAPRO and Henderson you can't go wrong. They also donate a portion to Mission Blue.

So far, I'm really enjoying this game. I've always wanted to SCUBA dive, but I've not been able to. This game is realistic enough to give me a small taste of what it might be like. It simulates important effects of depth such as nitrogen narcosis and the need for a safety stop after a deep dive.

So far, the game includes two maps: Chuuk Lagoon and Belize. (The Belize map is 500 clams, but you start with that much at the beginning.) Chuuk Lagoon includes the wreck of the Gosei Maru, a Japanese ship that sank there in World War Two. Belize includes the Mesoamerican Reef. The player is given a list of "Things to Do" at each site, such as swimming to special areas, finding underwater caches, spotting different kinds of wildlife, finding artifacts, and, at Belize, cleaning up trash. I thought the activities were interesting, though some of the collections are very hard to complete.

The swimming feels natural, though it took me some time to get used to using the camera independently of the swim direction. The player can hit "N" to orient oneself, but I wish that there was also a button to just reset the camera. Also, the "H" key gives help for the keys but doesn't mention the ballast vest controls, CTL and SPC. A player would have a tougher time playing without that information.

A couple of nitpicks: The Belize map has water currents, but they seem to flow randomly and without a pattern. I could be mistaken, though. Also, a sudden surface from a very deep dive still counts as a "Successful dive" even though in real life it would cause decompression sickness.

The game does have microtransactions, but except for extra maps (in the future) it all seems to be cosmetic. There doesn't seem to be a noticeable difference in how the extra gear works. While some people hate microtransactions on principle, I personally have no problem with buying extra content.

For the price, I would recommend this.

Edit: My remarks to another review were deleted by the reviewer, so to answer those points again here:

"30 second unskippable warning screen every time during launch" and "Extremely long loading times accompanied by obnoxious music, even on an SSD." This is only the first time you play the game. The long loading time is because the maps are downloaded from the Internet when you first load it. The other reviewer must have just started the game a single time and then immediately deleted it.

"Only ONE map is included in the game price." It comes with one map and 500 "clams," and then you can get the second one for 500 clams. I have two maps, and I didn't buy anything except the base game.

Steer clear of this one unless you want to pay real money for game content which is already boring, dated and not a fun experience in any way.

      Cons:

      - in-game purchases gates content despite already paying $13 for the game.
      - Low budget dated graphics.
      - 30 second unskippable warning screen every time during launch.
      - "Early" access to a game that's been worked on since 2010 and is a chore to experience.
      - Extremely long loading times accompanied by obnoxious music, even on an SSD.
      - Bare bones options. A resolution and Quality setting. Nothing else.
      - Extremely unrealistic underwater movement breaks any possibility of immersion.
      - Only ONE map is included in the game price.

      PROS:

      - Steam's refund policy

An early warning sign of the quality of this game is on the Early Access description section of the store page. "“Completing the in-game store is very high priority. Past that, we want to add new gear...." Yep. The developer's priority of In-game transactions is very clear.
Want more scuba gear? Pay $2.50 of real money. Want suits, fins etc? Pay real money.
Only one explorable area is included in the $12.99 asking price and the only other map I could see required in game currency to purchase.

Upon purchasing the game on steam they actually do give you $5 worth of in-game currency (clams). Problem is, this will not buy you much of the game's content. They ask 200 clams for a wetsuit, 200 Clams for fins, knives, gear sets... After that they expect you to pay a further $5 USD per 500 clams from their website.
How about no, I've already paid you $13.

If you are going have content gated behind in-game purchases then make the base game free. This is just distasteful.

Even when ignoring the micro transactions, the game itself is bland to look at and not enjoyable, so I will be asking Steam to refund my "Clams".

Edit: A 30 minute timed demo is available on their website and on the Windows store. Something I wish I had known before I purchased.
