While things can get repetitive at times the gameplay and control are fun and enjoyable, music is alright, story is short and dose not take to long and the side missions are fine, the only bugs I get with this game is the game sometimes acts like a lawnmower in witch you gotta start it up a few times but not to often to be annoying seems like the spawning after a long time of no play has a bug witch could be due to the fact the Volition servers are no longer a thing so if you get soft-locked either loading back to the ARK or opening the game its likely the game is trying to sync with the dead servers so restarting the game a few times fixes it, but for it to load sometimes but its pretty fast at loading anything normally taking around 2-5 seconds to load anything for me warping to or from the ARK is less then 5 secs of a loading screen, but sadly you currently wont be able to 100% achievements due to one achievement being locked to the now dead servers so if your wanting to get this game to add another game to your 100% completed list you will either have to find out how to hack the achievement or prey the servers get back online otherwise skip it, but if you want to play a great game that is not feeding you politics every 2 seconds or you want to play a game that dose not ask for your credit card every minute or you just want to have fun then I highly recommend this game!

Coming from the saints row universe (i consider myself to be a strong fan of anything before the reboot) and not being much of a corny superhero kind of fan. i kept a rather open mind not expecting things to be similar to that series but the game still had that zaney writing that i've been accustomed to although i was stunted at how abrupt the game ended

i think the games combat is its strong suit but it did get very repetitive alongside the legion lairs that get hammered to death. i think its overall a good time though if you take breaks not to get burned out waaay too quickly and for the tenner i put down on this to finally try it and have the punchline of telling people that im playing "bootleg marvel rivals" i was satisfied but theres a lot to be desired given how many people talk about this game online.

seriously i tried looking at walkthroughs on how to counter turrets at a high difficulty (because they will melt you into literal fucking pulp) and the most viewed video for the wreck room program i was doing was in the double digits. which is wild to me, zero fucking modding scene asides from texture swapping too which doesn't particularly interest me so i never looked into it

This is a very good game for its age, i really enjoyed this one.

it features repeatability so you can do things over and over so there's lots of things to do,
The graphics is great and very colourful in parts of the city.

the combat is very good.

it also features characters from saints row games like Johnny gat and Kenzie.

i had a few crashes which was weird

i would recommend this game to saints row fans

Agents of Mayhem

Decent game, but the failure of this game was to be expected when Deep Silver Volition tried to do something oddly unique that no fan of Saints Row asked for it to be.

Overall, I had a great time with the game, but it’s a shame that it ended like this and became something 10x worst that is the new Saints Row reboot.

Severely underrated! OMFG! This game is AWESOME, the most fun since Saints Row 4!!! I'm only halfway through the game but I couldn't wait to give KUDOS! The only thing that would make it better is co-op! I can't believe this isn't a multiplayer game!

First at all: all the time I thought its a complete different game. Saints Row Arena Hero Class Multiplayer. Not even sure why. Probably cuz it came out on a time when Overwatch was on its peak and everybody tried to copy it. That's why I never even looked at it.

Game itself seems not bad at all, if you don't expect Saints Row. But why should you, it doesn't even have Saints Row in the title. Kinda like the graphic style, it's a good combination with the anime cutscenes, which are pretty good, the open world (future fiction Seoul) looks great, gameplay and story are ok sofar. Can't go wrong for the 2,99€ on sale.

Btw after playing this game, it feels like the Suicide Squad game took inspiration, with the high agility movement, easy shooting, open world, char switching gameplay. With the different, Agents of Mayhem feels like a masterpiece compared to whatever Suicide Squad is.

Bought it for just under $5... And it's just not entertaining even with next to no barrier to entry...

Mindless fun game, ignore negative comments and give it a try if you just want to kick back and blow s**t up.

Easily recommended.
The game gets a lot of things right:
Fun gameplay, characters and dialog.
Good, diverse upgrade systems and an amazing environment.
The game has quite a lot of main story line content, and the only small negative is that the action can get somewhat repetitive after a while.
But regularly switching your characters will lessen that.

Agents of Mayhem delivers over-the-top action, quirky characters, and chaotic open-world fun. While not without its flaws, the vibrant style and humor make it a solid choice for fans of explosive mayhem and lighthearted gameplay.

I keep coming back to this game only to be reminded of what a total waste of potential it was.

It has great premise including Hero Shooter Mechanics and Open World Exploration in one game. The Large Cast of Characters with different abilities makes it really enjoyable to throw yourself into combat in futuristic Seoul in South Korea.

But after while It gets repetitive and boring. The missions mostly consist of clearing out outposts and taking down bosses and there isn't really anything that would make you want to explore the city more other than collecting shards to upgrade your Agents and getting loot to build some Gremlin Tech.

Overall Agents of Mayhem is fun game but the fun wears off quickly after few missions.

PROS & CONS after 50+ hours on XBox One; 35+ hours on PC

Entertaining open-world character action platform shooter where the moment-to-moment mob control withstands the game's many presentational disappointments.

[+] Very good variety of playable characters and playstyles.

[+] Good variety of open world activities that are worth engaging.

[+] Good character progression is well-integrated with the mechanics and loot. As characters level up, they gain access to a decent variety of meaningful upgrades, with trade-offs that encourage tactical decisions in the field.

[+] Variable difficulty levels lead to meaningful rewards (in terms of experience, gold, and mob aggressiveness).

[+] Very good art that holds up even at low resolutions. Looks good even on the lowest detail settings.

[+] Well-drawn and well-animated character models.

[-] Mission design is weak in many spots. Most missions are based around driving to various objectives, while the narrative dialogue takes place.

[-] PC framerates can drop drastically in many situations, under stress.

[-] While the art looks good on lower detail settings, higher detail settings don't improve the visuals very much. The difference between the lowest and highest settings isn't amazing, so there is little reason to crank up the graphics settings.

[-] Character balance is suspect. Some characters have impressive skillsets that are almost always useful, while other characters have few useful skills (which are made obsolete by more useful characters you obtain later). Some starter characters will rarely be used after the first few hours of the game, as you unlock better allies.

[-] Dialogue quality varies from mildly clever to cricket-summoning clunkers. Most of the gags feel like setups and placeholders for funnier punchlines and exchanges that never got added to the finished product.

Ganeplay is fun, the characters are enjoyable, and overall I'm really enjoying it.

This game is good on console but for the life of me I cant get it to work on PC and i have a decent PC after switching from console. Just every time i Boot it up it either wont start or crashes in 5 seconds into the first mission

GAME DOES NOT LAUNNCH

Not as good as I'd hope fore, unfortunately.

Well.. this one is an interesting review for me to write, that i guess not many people will even read.
This game did NOT get a lot of love when it was released. People were expecting Saints Row levels and maybe something that was even bigger and better than that. That they did not get. I'll be the first to admit. But i also think these expectations were the main reason why this game didn't do well... cause it really isn't a bad game.

I admit that when i first tried it, i didn't give it much attention. Then going through my library in 2024 i decided to go in with an open mind. And tbh, i've had a blast. Like going back to a better time of gaming.
It is not as good as Saints Row 3 and 4. Those were something else. But it actually picks up on the same type of action and gameplay that especially Saints Row 4 delivered. A semi-small city area (by todays standards) where you can roam completely freely, with fun varied characters that have a lot of different abilities.
Fun, sometimes corny, dialogue.. but it keeps up with the previous games. Give it a chance and unlock some characters.
And to finish this review of... the controls... they are still awesome. It feels so good to just zoom around with no effort all over the city. Car controls are probably some of the best you will ever get in a game like this as well. All these things were probably overlooked because it felt underwhelming at the time.
If you were a fan of Saints Row 4, give this another try.

Game is alright; it's definitely nothing like the other Saints Row games, so don't expect that so you're not disappointed. This is something totally different and more experimental; It's one of those rinse lather repeat types, so you may grow bored quickly if you're looking for something new or challenging. I still enjoyed the game, but grew bored and so I've yet to finish it, or I should start from the beginning as there was nothing memorable except for some character designs.

So.... the thumbs up on this game is very flimsy right now because this game was a chore and I can't stress that enough. The best thing to do for this game off the bat is to do every side quest before even starting the main missions cause you will fly at them especially at higher levels when going for the level 7 difficulty achievements. AOM is one of those games where you can play it if you want something to do. I recommend it cause getting the achievements was actually quite easy and straight forward. 6/10
