This is how you make a sequel. I played Just Cause 2 and really loved the destruction / taking over towns and instead of throwing the series in a totally foreign direction like a lot of companies do to kill their great title's sequels, Just Cause 3 is everything loved from Just Cause 2 but enhanced with better graphics and more details. Absolutely love this and is a must buy.

A very fun sandbox action game, Just Cause 3 nicely builds on Just Cause 2. While lacking some of the detail of Just Cause 2 this is still a great sandbox game well worth buying especially on sale.

i normally never leave reviews but this game is so underated its worth every penny on discount full price maybe not but its worth giving it a chance

One of my favourite games of all time, bar none. The best Just Cause game you can buy, especially if you can snag the full package for cheap. i mean seriously, a (DLC1 SPOILERS), then (DLC2 SPOILERS), and even (DLC3 SPOILERS)???? actual genius to give us these toys in this beautiful playground. the only way this could have been better is if the buildings were destructible, a la red faction Guerilla

Fantastic game. Haven't had this much fun since forever. I suggest buying full game with all dlcs, you won't be dissappointed. If you are trying to get 100%, you might get stuck at some point, but there is always a solution so enjoy. Would recommend!

this game is "just go for it " i will say , i guarantee it . An absolute Entertainment , you can go and blow anything you want and the graphics of this game is outstanding , you can admire the beauty of this game by gliding around the map and can get any ride you want and do any stunt you want . if you are guy who want to blow things , mess with the npc then this is your game

Controller is wonky, third person controls should be a thing of the past due to poor interfacing between the human and the machine. Third person camera sucks along with the vehicle controls. Yes, I am sure you can get used to it, yadayada. The controls have to feel good in a game, that is the number one thing to get right and this game does not get it right.

Love Italy, but the revolutionary trope is quite cringe inducing.

Played this at a friends house several years after it came out, fell in love with it.
Some of the best movement mechanics and explosions you will ever experience.

It uses denuvo.
If a feature doesn't add anything to improve the game or the player experience, then it should not exist in the first place and should be removed, even worst when that feature make things worst.

So… as of the writing of this review (or the start of writing it, anyway), I have just finished the campaigns for Just Cause 3 and its DLC, and this is another unique opportunity for me to express my in-depth thoughts on a game immediately after "completing" it. And my thoughts?… Mixed. Very mixed.

Before I get into details, I want to provide some context: I haven't played any of the other Just Cause games, including 4, and I've barely seen or know much about them other than from some cursory research, and vague memories of watching Jacksepticeye play it as a kid and thinking it was the coolest shit ever. As such, this game was my introduction to the world of Just Cause and its gameplay. I am coming in with very fresh eyes. Keep all that in-mind if you're a Just Cause veteran about to shit on me from the clouds while parachuting. Also, please note that I don't usually drop money on games just because they look cool, but monkey sees very high sale, and monkey brain sees action.

Once I bought the game and finally got around to playing it: It was mostly uneventful. Just some riding around on the wing of a plane while shooting at things with rocket launchers; nothing I haven't done before. Immediately after finishing, a character named Mario came up and took a selfie with me (cringe). Yeah, if there were any thoughts left in my head that this game was gonna take itself seriously, those were all shot with rocket launchers and then photographed Logan Paul-style. It wasn't hard to see why kid me thought this game was going to be the bomb.

The biggest hurdle to the early half of my playthrough were the controls, which are comically bad, especially by default. To be frank: It's not hard to see that Just Cause 3 was a "consoles first" game, with the Windows version seemingly being an afterthought. I know this because some psychopath thought that pressing and holding keys should do completely different things with no way to bind the actions seperately, and that binding the sticky bombs to Caps Lock by default was a good idea when the 4 key is RIGHT THERE.

Even over that, though, Rico has a frequent tendency to just not do what you want him to. Ideally, there should be as little of a disconnect between "what the player wants to do" and "what Rico is doing" as possible, but more often than should happen, these things are not the same. For example: You're trying to grapple at something, but "Oh no!" A pole is in the way and is blocking Rico's direct path to the target! How do we resolve this issue? Do we:

A. Just let Rico slide on the wall until he's either freed or the player gives up
B. Let Rico walk or jump on surfaces while he's grappling that are not his grapple target (would take more resources but would be the most elegant answer)
S. Make Rico re-grapple at wherever the player is looking after a few seconds if he doesn't make it to where he should be on time

Why is the third option "S"? Because that's the Stupid option. And that's the choice the devs actually went for. I know it seems petty to put emphasis on this one relatively small issue, but the grapplehook is *the* defining game mechanic of the Just Cause series (to my knowledge), and thus it should be as polished as possible. I shouldn't be getting punished because of some debris blocking me in a heated moment.

Actually, that's a good segway for me to discuss the difficulty. I'm not ashamed to admit I hit my desk more than a few times after dying in this game, which I never would've seen coming at first. "Regenerating health? Insane maneuverability? The ability to hijack almost any vehicle? AND dying is only a time penalty – Barely any progress is lost and you get your ammo BACK? This game is forgiving as hell!" No. It's INSIDIOUS. Oh sure, your health regenerates, but have fun getting to cover in the middle of that barren wasteland – while being *bombed*! Yeah, you can sure move fast, but that doesn't stop them from easily shooting you MID-AIR like fucking anti-aircraft guns (and don't get me started on the ACTUAL anti-aircraft guns)! But don't worry, you can get into those attack helicopters and turn this whole battle around – just as soon as Rico's done dicking about under the helicopter and taking enough of his sweet-fucking-time evicting the driver that another helicopter is able to swat you away like you're an insect. To cap this off before I vent for even longer: Just Cause 3 may start off easy, but you can just as easily get overwhelmed before you even have a chance to do anything about it, and you can die due to circumstances that feel entirely out of your control. Maybe I just suck bombs, or maybe there's something I'm missing, but regardless this explosive frustration is what I'll probably remember Just Cause 3 for most.

What else do I remember Just Cause 3 for, though? The story, of course!… Hah, just kidding: There's not much there worth remembering. We create chaos and casualties in the name of "liberty," an Autistic woman suicide bombs herself for literally no reason, and evil DJ mustache man does *eeevil*. That's the cliffnotes version. DJ Ravello (His actual name is Di Ravello but with the game's font and my shitty eyesight the 'i' looked like a 'j' at first so I rolled with it) is pretty much just forgettable Hitler-like villain #2,700,000. The story is nothing but a vehicle for the gameplay, which I suppose is all it needs to be, but despite that I can't help but find myself disappointed, especially considering there are little hints of potential hidden throughout the story.

For example: DJ Ravello has some sick mixtapes that he littered around Medici that provide additional backstory, but even for somebody like me who salivates at fictional politics and government corruption in media: It's boring. Just a lot of "I poisoned X and made Y my bitch" over and over again. For ~30 tracks. Perhaps a little more creative than the sex/drugs/money trifecta that dominates rap lyrics, but not by much. I only collected and listened to about half of them before quitting. It all makes me wonder why they even bothered adding these to the game at all, which I feel is a shame. I don't know if it's obvious or not, but I'm actually a writer – Or at least I consider myself one. I enjoy creative writing, and I even have a book in the works which tackles government corruption, so when I think about this game's story all I feel is disappointment. In my very brief research on the first game (looking at its Steam page) I noticed a not-so-subtle nod to the CIA in there, and just thinking about that fills my mind with Spec Ops: The Line-esque ideas for a story that'd play into the game's themes perfectly. Could you imagine if the plot of Just Cause 3 was that you're a special operative sent in to overthrow the "corrupt" government of some South American country, being trained by Marine Corps instructors and armed with the best gear, only to have it all be ripped away mid-way through the game as the CIA attempt to backstab you and paint you as a terrorist (which you technically are)? That's just what I day-dreamt up as I was playing the game, I swear, please don't assassinate me.

Oh good lord, this review is 7000+ characters long already! I need to try to end this soon or nobody will read it except for a few freaks! OK, **TL;DR: Anything besides shooting feels janky; The story could've been a story; The music is forgettable and barely present; The visuals are good, but you better get used to them as those same pretty landscapes and concrete buildings are 90% of what you'll be seeing; It feels much like a predecessor to the modern terrible AAA game; My desk lost years of its life throughout my playthrough.** If you want further elaboration on the game's flaws, feel free to check my profile for the reviews of the DLC (assuming I write them)!

Mass destruction goes brrrr. I don't even know the story behind this game, I'm here just for the chaotic gameplay.

this is a game that knows exactly what it wants to be, you blow things up, grapple and fly around, and have fun doing it, don't expect a deep gripping story or a detailed open world, the world is only there for you to fly around in, and flying and movement is fun in this game, so i don't mind the semi empty world like most people do, i like to come back to this game for stress relief, even if my play time here isn't a good indication, i played this game a lot on ps4

Pretty Fun game its a mix of realistic and fun and the same time reminds a little of like Goat Simulator i would recommend, funny ass game :3333

Pros:
- Nice open world to explore and traverse
- Fun vehicle and firearm combat
- Freeform approach to completing missions

Cons:
- Framerate issues and occasional crashes
- Obnoxious bugs (i.e. plane homing missiles don't work with gun iron sights upgrade)
- Always online and poor UI (there's a popup leaderboard for stunts but no minimap or compass during gameplay?)
- Weaker final act

Verdict: It seems like an equal number of steps forward and backward from JC2. I still had a fun time with it despite the flaws, but don't really want to play it again.

Definetly one of best Just Causes along with 2, as 2 is better in something, 3 is better in other things like graphics, interesting mechanics etc... in case you haven't played 2, you should start with that, so you know what to expect, 1 is not as fun, so you can skip it I guess.

It's quite a fun game with loads to fun tasks to do. Only downside is that it the overall game can become quite repetative over time.

My pc struggled with the graphics, so even on very low settings, the game ran slowly, but the content is excellent, and (when on default settings or above) the graphics are lovely too.

Its very good if you want a sandbox with a average story line and if you buy some of the DLC's its even better

Decent story, good game for people who like destruction and the gameplay is similar to far cry series. Liked the game overall because it has some freedom to it as well as interesting vehicles and weapons. Overall, only buy it when it is on sale for around 1 USD.

I used to play this game on my ps4 awhile back. The game is fun, and just as good as I remember it!

It's good fun. Feels a little bit like a cross/mash-up concoction of Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 and Saints Row 4. All good, and is at least kinda playable on a potato laptop as well. 5/7 would play again.

Just Cause 3 is the epitome of “why do we need laws of physics?” The game takes everything you love about open-world chaos and cranks it up to 11, then gives you a rocket launcher, a wingsuit, and the freedom to blow up anything in sight. The plot? Well, let’s just say it’s an excuse to give you a giant island to wreck. You play as Rico Rodriguez, the ultimate “screw-it-I’m-doing-it-my-way” hero, who’s out to take down a dictator and liberate the people, all while leaving a trail of destruction behind him. Explosions? Check. Insane stunts? Check. Everything explodes in a satisfying, fireball-filled symphony that will have you giggling with delight. Whether you’re slinging yourself across the map using your grappling hook or watching a helicopter explode in mid-air as you zip away in a car, Just Cause 3 is the chaos playground we never knew we needed.

But what truly makes Just Cause 3 special? It’s not just about the explosions (although that’s a huge part of the fun). The game gives you a unique set of toys to play with, like the grappling hook and wingsuit, which let you do ridiculous things that other games simply don’t allow. Want to attach a car to a helicopter and watch it soar through the sky, only to detonate it mid-air? You can. Want to hijack a tank, toss it off a cliff, and then watch it roll down and explode in an epic chain reaction? You can do that too. The level of freedom here is insane, and the more you explore, the more ridiculous stunts you can pull off. It’s the kind of game that doesn’t take itself seriously, but in the best way possible—every mission feels like an excuse to see how much you can break the game and have fun doing it.

The world of Just Cause 3 is one of its strongest points. The map is huge, and filled with mountains, beaches, and cities just begging to be obliterated. What’s even better is how satisfying it feels to liberate regions by blowing up military installations, taking down enemy propaganda, and generally making the island feel like it’s had its “bad guys” sweeped up. It’s a world that encourages experimentation. The game doesn’t hold your hand and say, “here’s how you should play.” Instead, it gives you a world full of physics and chaos and says, “Go ahead. Make some explosions. Have fun.” If you love open-world games with an emphasis on freedom, destruction, and taking down bad guys in the most ridiculous ways possible, Just Cause 3 is an absolute must-play. Highly recommend to anyone who loves pure, unfiltered action with no moral or logical boundaries. You’ll never look at a helicopter the same way again.

Stupid fun. Sometimes that's all I'm in the mood for... mindless stupid fun.

You have an ilsand country, full of military bases and towns, to destroy and liberate, while trying to turn over the evil military regime of a dictator with Napoleon syndrome.

There are huge explosions, giant flames, fast cars and planes, and plenty of ways to achieve your destructive goals, as well as funny story characters, and a large world that is all your playground. What more could you want?

Best one of the series.

i love this game i love the amount of areas to go the amount of guns and what you can fly, drive, and crash and the DLC's are a BIG plus i got the mech DLC and i love it you guys should try this game

Good open-world destruction sandbox. I particularly like how the upgrades are tied to completing challenges instead of simply buying them. Coming from Just Cause 2, the addition of the wingsuit glider and the retraction feature on the hookshot tethers, along with the advancements in enemy AI and their spawn, the physics engine, and the soundtrack presence, really elevate Just Cause 3 to be the best in the franchise.

However, there are a few drawbacks. There's no FOV slider, the default camera distance from the character causes more of a claustrophobic feeling than similar games. To solve that, there's a mod called JustFOV, but it also affects cutscenes, making them look silly (although the story is such a nothing burger, so this is fine by me). Another problem is the draw distance/LOD, it seems one of the last updates broke it a bit, so especially when doing races, you won't escape seeing grass getting loaded as you move, it's very ugly. There's also a mod for that, but it's not as easy to install and use, so I didn't bother.

So far, this is the most explosion and destruction ever fitted into a game I have ever played, I think even Michael Bay would rate this game above 8/10.

That's it, Just Cause is just endless explosion and action game. The story and characters are quite alright, though sometime a bit cringe. In general, this game is alright, but is it fun ? Well of course, you need to try it yourself to find out.

I need to point out that some of the gear challenges are quite frustrating, sometime it is also buggy. If you plan to achieve 100%, I wish you good luck doing that.

And as final note, I do really recommend finishing the DLCs (just buy the Air, Land & Sea Expansion Pass) first, before you do some rampage and liberate every province. Have fun!

The game’s physics are so over-the-top, they make science teachers cry. Grappling hooks, lightning guns, and buildings that fall apart like they’re made of Legos. The world’s massive, but mostly you’re just flying from point to point shooting missiles at stuff while laughing maniacally.

Verdict: It’s like a summer blockbuster movie—but with even more explosions and less plot. 10/10 for chaos.

Reigning Chaos on all my enemies is something Ive needed for a long time. Free will, dumb sh* you can literally do (like diving a plane to a chaos object, and still achieve the goal of destroying it), funny ways to kill enemies, and best of all, you can re-colonize Medici one settlement at a time

This was the first game i ever purchased with my own money i will always love this game and strongly recomend you give it a shot. My only real complaint is that it really isnt long enough. A lot of things haven't really reached a conclusion like what happened to the radio guy?

If you liked 2, You'll like 3. It offers everything that made that game so fun, but also has a lot of the same clunky mechanics that may put people off.

Absolutely amazing game. One of my favourites but also somehow the worst running game ive ever played. I have never had a game crash my PC every hour but this game is my first. Something has gone terribly wrong in this port and it makes me sad beyond belief.

Beautiful. I have 100% on Xbox and finished the campaign for JC4 on Xbox and am finally able to come full circle back to PC (got my start on a crappy laptop many years ago). :) Highly recommend for all open-world lovers out there and some aspects of the game, esp storytelling, are imo better in 3 than 4.

Bought this for the nostalgia and... yikes. Just yikes. Game is plenty of fun until you have to get in a vehicle.
