About the Game
Call to Arms offers an innovative mix of real-time strategy and 3rd, as well as 1st person controls. i love call to arms its a very good rts/fps game i love how it looks and runs too.
Been playing for few days, so far enjoying it. Although there are some consideration to mention:
1. Doesn't like most of the RTS, AI won't rush to attack specific target when you point the target, unless targets are in their vision.
2. There is no peeking option in 1st person.
the game is great, it has a lot of classic Men Of War mechanics... also, the modding and the mission editor are superb and you can expand the game and having a lot of fun with it.
BUT, the main reason of my negative review are the devs. First of all they completely abandoned this game and secondly they are snowflakes when you criticize a certain corrupt government that is waging a suicidal war at Eastern Europe and they ban you without any warning.
So screw them. I don't have any sympathy for them and their lost political/military cause.
I love your game so much! beautiful game and what you guys have done but my only issue has been with the First person POV or the take control. When using it it tends to bug out in a way where my character would be firing his weapon without me even clicking it, it would even sometime tab me out of the game and start a new tab from a different application, I have no idea why it does this and it may be from me having it on "advance control settings? or what I be clicking when in use but it is quite common and very inconvenient. And I feel that particular vehicles do not take any damage when fired upon, like T35 takes taking damage from a apache helicopter. Your guys help would be so much appreciated! Thank you
Game is fun don't get me wrong but the AI is awful. In what world is it better to crouch behind cover whilst taking damage ultimately ending in your death, better than standing and returning fire possibly keeping you alive and killing the enemy? AI become cowards and refuse to stand their ground even with better equipment, angle of fire etc. Also when moving troops they seem to refuse to go the direct route instead opting for a longer route which is ALWAYS within enemy troops vision. Just doesn't make any logical sense. Half of it probably is skill related but the games AI is still awful. I've played older games with far superior AI
Really excellent game, has the core of Men of War but updated. Call to Arms is newer military and Call to arms Osfront is pretty much WWII. Very unique in the fact that you get RTS Strategy and somewhat First person control in the same game. I rate this game as a must play for all strategist players
This game is rad, very ambitious with a lot going on. I think if the 1st person could be polished to a point where 1st person fans would like it, it would be AAA
Game speed can only be controlled in single player campaign and not in skirmish and multiplayer.
The game looks retarded with the default speed. All the animations look like shit because i goes too damn fast.
No Recommended.
Fun with Friends! AI sucks tho and Tanks are inkonsistent af. And Helis are gods against ai and suck sooo much in mp (u can snipe them like its battlefield)...
This game is great. Install a few mods and you've got a great-er game.
"Call to Arms" - A Hidden Gem for tactical RTS Fans
This game slipped under my radar, but I'm incredibly glad I discovered it. As a fan of classic RTS titles like "Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2" and "Men of War," I was blown away by "Call to Arms." It masterfully blends real-time strategy with intense first-person shooter action, creating a unique and engaging experience. While it might not have received the attention it deserves, "Call to Arms" is a true hidden gem for fans of the genre.
Ai is horrible and frustrating to deal with, ruins any fun that the format of this game can provide.
You have to micromanage every action of each soldier.
Deberían mejorar el sistema de blindaje, pero a pesar de todo, es un juego de buena calidad y gráficos, bastante recomendable si te gustan los juegos RTS, además de su parecido con la saga Men of War.
the game was released in 2018 and in some moments it's even worse than MoW, other aspects are cool but the graphics look bad even on ultra settings
A solid game despite being another cookie-cutter gem engine RTS. I like how it is infantry-focused instead of armor-focused. Don't play it vanilla, its very bland and the animations look terrible for some reason, but with the warfighter mod this game is great even though that mod likes to over complicate some things (The US army doesn't need 50 different infantry squads jesus christ).
The RTS/FPS function is still clunky. Otherwise, it's a promising game.
The DLCs of this game are just straight up scammy. It's simple factions with lacking content for a lot of money. Wait for a sale to buy it.
The AI, both friendly and enemy, is absolute dogshit and not a threat at all. You can easily steamroll them in COOP even on the hardest difficulty.
The first person camera is a nice idea, it's just so bad for infantry. It's okay with vehicles but it's still very lackluster.
There is no voice acting for the DLC factions which is straight up dogshit.
Buy on sale and only if you really enjoy steamrolling AI. Or play online and get steamrolled.

i wish the maps were 100x bigger, the map population size more controllable, and 1000 other things id tweak the hell out of. Otherwise, sure a decent chess styled semi-rts type thing. It had a goal, but lost its footing it feels like. I dont know how there is so many DLC's for something like this... Wth? Go play arma... edit and tweak missions, jump in and out of 1st and 3rd person, with much larger scale..
its not bad. a lil dated now but for some mindless fun and a workshop. i got on a discount.
I downloaded the most recent update and now the game won't launch

its just not fun, im a Men at War fan, assault squad 2 was near perfect, having it be a FPS? YES PLEASE
so i thought this game would be better
but its a worse rework, conquest sucks
the FPS aspect of it, sucks
the fog of war which for some reason i cant change, makes you only able to look 20m forward even as sniper!
except! in the vehicles like the heli's, but the FPS aspect of that still sucks, third person you have a good fov but cant see where youre shooting, First person youre so zoomed in you cant see the battlefield
as infantry FP the FOV is the lowest setting in most games, and you cant change this
pump action shotgun? no visible changes when firing and pumping
for some reason it even downgrades the physics, in MaW AS if a plane drops a bomb itll go in an arc, here? it spawns in right on point and slowly goes straight down
i recomend just buying Men at War: Assault squad 2, rather than this game

RTS games are horrible imo but this game is actually FIRE. RTS and FPS/TPS all one. 8 outta 10
This game is creative, tastefully modded. and provides infinite replay ability
The game is some what OK, I wouldn't recommend it, the AI is stupid and the first two missions are disappointing.
The little avatars that pop up to give you the story look laughable.
More importantly the second mission the enemy "terrorists" suddenly get Russian BMPs or BTRs and your team gets wiped out, but there's a Bradley sitting in your base without it telling you to use it against the vehicles, that's ok because you can just drive it over and wipe everything out, except it gets tracked and your ammo is low, no advice how to fix that, then I complete the mission for.. some reason..
3rd mission, you take control of two snipers, apparently enemy soldiers can take 5 shots from a sniper rifle point blank and still stand up and shoot you.
Maybe it gets good but it's not for me.
From the creator of Men of War, i swear to god if this wouldnt be better. It is a modern version of MoW with mods. There is so many good things, such as the advanced control and the mods.
i love all aspect of the game and best thing is when chosen unit is used you can speed up movement of the time in game and take control of the action instead of waiting and watching units fumble in a sence :)

Bought Deluxe Edition with Season Pass, in order to support the game development.
As advanced gem2 user, spent a lot of time in the editor, reporting easy & hard fix game engine bugs etc.
I was really expecting and hoping that developers would fix the game, campaign missions, dynamic campaign, etc. since it was very popular hot game with brand & tradition.
What have we got over last 7+ years?
A game with broken promises*, constant change of focus (seems that that's their company motto), broken, buggy, and unfinished campaign, same thing for the dynamic campaign.
Abandoned game, with master skilled admins with nothing but empty promises.
After over a 8 years of patient waiting, wrote this review and decided that I will never ever put a dime in any of their future content, who ever their new co-partner is.

A pretty decent game, very strategy and very fun.
Really cool game i like the fact that modders are better than original developers.
game is not great, I've played better. friendly AI is really dumb and take worst paths possible to get to where you want them. its also a hassle to even get troops into position due to how jank the cover system is, your just guessing and hovering your mouse all over the screen just to fined the right position you want your guys at and it doesn't help that the enemy AI is somehow way better than yours even on normal. difficulty is also an issue, the AI is unnecessarily difficult even on normal but you can look at other reviews and they say about the same. over all don't play this there are plenty of better RTS games out there that are a lot more interesting and play better than this.
spectator and 1 person is amazing all trucks cars tanks and helicopters are so fun to play with and my favorite toy is the tanks

alot of fun its a time consumer but crazy fun very strategic and cool simply amazing game
its very good Strategy Simulation. But if you want true immersive experience, Warfighter Mod is duty

Holy shit the AI in this is terrible, I have no clue what i saw in this game when I was a kid because playing it now is the most laughable thing I have ever seen, your forces will just randomly stop working with the cover theyre shooting from and instead just lick it and stare at the floor.

Preordered the game, since I loved MoW:AS2 and expected something similar for full price.
After some time they decided to go free to play. We (preorders) got no preorder bonus, only the Basic game, as if we didn't support the game before anybody else did.
Shitty move, but whatever. Bought deluxe and ultimate editions at a later date, expecting and hoping the devs would fix the game, campaign, dynamic campaign, etc.

Just play Gates of Hell, at least Barbedwire Studios seems like they know what they are doing...

Feels more like a mod than anything...the map sizes don't gel well with modern engagement ranges, ATGMs and autocannons shred anything lighter than a MBT. Speaking of, MBT fights are slugfests where you throw dozens of rounds at each other to seemingly no effect, so naturally the campaign has multiple forced DC tank levels where you fight like six dozen enemy vehicles while having to slowly resupply twelve rounds at a time. The 1st person DC animations are ugly and the balancing is weird, like mortars have near perfect accuracy (!) and there are many times where you might as well Call of Duty it out with the enemy because of how absurdly effective it is. The whole thing is sort of poorly thought out, which is a shame, because there are a couple really fun levels in the German and Russian campaigns.
German Campaign Preemptive strike bug the first part where the tank shot the t72 and still shooting at the destroyed tank and the unit still haven't given to the player which is stuck at that point all over again even after restarting it
A decent bit of euro-jank RTS.
It's much better than the previous Men Of War games, if only because they've refined the engine and gameplay so that it doesn't constantly crash, your people can actually path-find, and you get a decent fps. There are precious few modern warfare RTS games, so this fills a spot nicely. There's a lot of jank in the gameplay and UI but the overall experience is enough to elevate it.
Pros:
+ The campaign is ok, it has a nice exciting start and a climatic ending. The early missions are a bit terrible and boring, however.
+ The conquest mode is fun too, as it's a nice dynamic campaign that builds up over time.
+ The game has tactical pause and slo-mo. But it's only in campaign, you can't use it in conquest :(
Cons:
- Voice effects are terrible. (Plus it sounds like the person who did Wargame:EE!)
- The AI is pretty terrible. This goes for the individual unit AI (e.g. your Bradleys will happily waste ATGMs on MG technicals rather than just a few HE rounds) and they rarely throw grenades without microing. The enemy strategy AI is also pretty terrible as it will happily walk around whilst you snipe it from miles away, or sit there whilst your AT team repositions to shoot it etc. The attacking/defending AI, especially on conquest, just sends wave after wave of men at you without any real positioning or scouting etc.
- The hot bar is terrible, as it doesn't include the things I want and includes plenty of the things I don't. You can't even bind all of the keys, for instance.
- The core idea of having "squads" is bonkers, because you immediately break them apart and lose unit cohesion the instant you reposition someone. The only choice is to either a) have a great memory or b) waste unit hotkeys on individual squads.
- I can never find the person I want. Which one of these 50 little dudes is the medic, or has the mg, or has an AT weapon? Hard to do mid combat
- The DLC is expensive and the game consists of lootbox and unlockable nonsense.
- The achievements are boring and only for the main missions on every difficulty mode. There isn't even one for conquest.
To build a deck, follow these steps:
Plan and design your deck: Decide on the type of deck and create a plan.
Measure, dig footings, set posts, and install ledger: Prepare the foundation for your deck.
Build and install deck framing: Construct the framework for the deck.
Install the decking boards: Lay down the deck surface.
Build stairs and railings: Add stairs and safety railings as needed.
really enjoy the game, feels different to usual Rts only issues i have, no prep stage making defense set ups with engineers etc pointless most of time... can only call in a full army rather then seperate units, so its either have big armys that you need to wait for ap to callin in to make sure you win or small armies that cater to certain groups that are small and chance of losing. overall i love the game it just needs tweaks like a prep phase when defending on maps and etc and a pause feature if ive missed it having one?
It's a mid game and it's dated. Playing on higher difficulties just makes it so that the AI opponents spawn better units faster and spam the smaller units more. General gameplay is mid too, waiting 10 minutes for a tank is just too much
