Boson X is a hexagonal runner. It's similar to the Flash game series "Run" in the sense that you rotate the screen so the character can jump over gaps. The game is about jumping over platforms that randomly spawn in a set of a few different patterns per level. Occasionally there's blue platforms which increase your energy level. Every time you increase the level, your character runs faster. Once you reach 100%, the level is considered complete. You can keep playing for a higher score but it's way faster than before you reached 100% so it's harder.
It's similar to Super Hexagon in the sense that you have to reach a certain requirement to go to the next stage, in this case energy versus the actual 60 seconds of time. It's also about memorizing patterns and having good timing for the different speeds.
Every pattern in SH is beatable regardless of what order they show up in. Boson X has a problem where some patterns require you to be on 1 of the 8 axis to get past it, so you can fail with barely any warning. The 4th to last level was way harder for me than the last 3 which felt strange. Also, a good amount of the level's patterns are very visually overwhelming to the point that it's kind of hard to look at. So if you have a issues with flashing lights or busy patterns, then this might not be for you. Regardless, it wasn't that big of a deal for me. It just took some getting used to.
I had bought this game back in 2018 and I played it for an hour and then I completely forgot about it. I've recently been getting into grinding achievements so while I was thinking about shortish games in my library, I remembered this game. Despite all of my complaints I really do genuinely like this game. It's really fun. (By the way, holding left or right does the same as holding up for a jump so it's a good idea to practice doing that more often versus just holding jump. It's easier to land from a long jump in my experience.)
I'd definitely recommend this game! It's really fun to 100% as well.
Boson X deserves a sequel <3
I have been playing this game for 11 years
Boson X
Has a total of 5 trading cards.
VERY FUN
AND GOOD
Vertigo, faith, fear, angst and fun can happen every 5 seconds inside a Boxon X level.
God forbids if you dare to blink. sneeze or pee.
This game feels stronger than any drug you can image.
Unexpecadly good runner.
Very catching gameplay. Rhytmic and fast. Easily grabs attention and holds it as well.
Appealing visuals. Thought i generally don't appreciate sci-fi theme.
Besides sounds. I'm total synthwave fan, so it feels great for me.

This game is quite difficult but very rewarding, comparable to games like Super Hexagon. I had a great time with it.
good
First video game I ever played back on the original 2010 iPad. god bless it got me where I am today.
Simple infinite runner. Jump left, right or straight to stay on the platforms, run over blue platforms to gain energy - you're scored on how much energy you get, not how much distance you travel. Careful, though, the more energy you pick up, the faster you go. Super simple gameplay, low specs so you can download it on like a Macbook you can take with you wherever you go, decent music loops all makes for a good game you can sit down with for 30 minutes and do some runs.
Tons of fun. If you like games that require memorization but also a bit of skill/finesse like Bit Trip Runner or even Olli Olli and Joe Danger, you'll probably like this. The level variety is pretty nice. It needed some more music tracks imo but you can play your own music in the background anyway.
How much do you hate yourself? Have you been bad? Do you need to be locked in a room with a 3-second loop of techno and a random level generator which constantly kills you with unfair spawns and a complete dearth of the thing you need to progress? Do you want to use controls as conceived by someone who has never played a videogame? Are you currently eating glass? ... call 800-273-TALK (8255) and get help.
the only issue with this game is that it ends . it's simple but it's so effective and it's a great tribute to online flash endless runner games. aside from the nostalgia of playing it years ago on my phone. genuinely might be one of my favourite games, not because it's a masterpiece, but because it's fun and so good at what it does
