Mirror’s Edge is an adrenaline rush parkour like no other game. The parkour gameplay is fluid, innovative, and rewarding when mastered. I really like the city or the world in Mirror's edge because its clean and very vibrant.
The story is short and simple, it never was really that crazy though it was enjoyable.
While the combat can feel clunky at times and lackluster in modern standards, the game shines brightest when you focus on the pure joy of movement. For its time, it was groundbreaking and it still holds up today.
Had to turn off the physic off cuz it cause the game a load lot of stutter issues

Even with some flaws in the combat, I still love playing this game. me like to run :)
It was cool until the warehouse with all the guards shooting at you and you don't know where to go. Fuck this bullshit game up the ass with a cactus.
I understand this is a beloved franchise for many players, and it was very innovative for it's time, but I did not enjoy this game. Firstly, the game kept crashing my computer just before starting the first mission, and it wasn't fixed until I disabled Phys X settings. The "combat" is pretty awful and inconsistent. Even with Runner Vision and Faith's camera pointing me in the direction of my objective, the way forward was often difficult to figure out, and even then half the time the platforming just did not work the first time. I found the story so dull and uninteresting, and by the time I got to the final chapter, I didn't have the motivation to play anymore and uninstalled the game. There's elements of a good game here, but not enough to make it fun for me, and the jankey combat and occasionally broken mechanics do nothing but age this game. Nowadays there are plenty of other parkour games you can be playing that likely do everything better than this game (except maybe the roll animation, that was the game's highlight for me).
Parkour, but Make It Art
You play as Faith Connors, a runner navigating a dystopian city where information is tightly controlled, and parkour is her tool of rebellion. The story is a decent excuse to keep running, involving corporate conspiracies and family drama.
The parkour mechanics feel intuitive yet demand precision. When you’re chaining movements seamlessly, it’s poetry in motion. When you’re not, it’s an awkward interpretive dance with the respawn screen. Combat feels deliberately clunky, a reminder that Faith is a runner, not a fighter. Disarming enemies is satisfying, though, but half the time it's better to just run away and leave them confused.
The game’s visual style is striking—a minimalistic palette dominated by stark whites and splashes of vibrant reds. These reds aren’t just decoration; they’re guideposts, a silent language telling you where to run, where to leap, and where to trust that gravity won’t betray you. Light is used masterfully, painting the sterile urban environment with sharp shadows and gleaming reflections. The minimalism isn’t just aesthetic; it’s functional, allowing the player to focus on the rhythm of running, leaping, and navigating.
"Mirror’s Edge" is a game that rewards perfection and punishes hesitation. It’s an unforgettable experience—a game that values innovation over convention, style over excess.
An amazing game - I always love a good story and Mirror's Edge has it. Along with great gameplay and not too complicated objectives, this is a great game to experience! I can't believe I've never decided to play it any time sooner! Thanks to the team and developers for giving us a good game and a great story!

This game is a masterpiece, the gameplay is amazing and the graphics for 2009 are beautiful. It has aged incredibly well. The story is very good too.

Phenomenal gameplay, soundtrack, and visuals. Only complain would be maybe the characters and combat, but for $4 on a discount. It's well worth the buy. Something special about this classic, and it still stands up against the time 16 years later.

There is no other feeling like playing Mirrors Edge in the night and breezing through parkour, this game is just special man.
Cool game. Only thing that sucks is combat, but overall it's a pleasant experience, especially after figuring out how to increase FOV and getting 144 FPS.
Positive aspects
This game has it's own identity, very appealing art style and visual design in general. The cutscenes were a pleasant surprise for me. It took me back in time when you would play a game as a kid and you get that feeling like something special but subtle is going on. It's really unique in a way, and that's the feeling that made me push through the game. I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Gameplay itself is versatile, it leaves you space for planning a route through the sections and that adds a lot, because you get the badass feeling. Sometimes you can go full James Bond and sometimes you can just skedaddle.
Negative aspects
Thank god there's no achievements on steam for this game. Man, even though I do recommend playing this game considering how old it is, it's a pain in the ass nonetheless. The parkour is great but the movement is outdated. I hated the scaffolding section of the game cuz that's the part the parkour really underperformed for me. The story is nothing extraordinary, but it's enjoyable. Some checkpoint runs are tedious, not even joking. I remember repeating one long-ass section over and over again and dying to some of the most ridiculous shi for like 10 times, to the point that it makes you turn it off and play it later.
But all in all, this game is worth giving a shot. It feels old, but looks new. Got it on discount, cuz EA...
This game is ok. I really like the level design and especially the art style guiding the player in the right direction. When the controls aren't being finicky, the game really shines and performing epic parkour maneuvers is really fun. I'm not a big fan of the sorta generic story and I really don't like the combat. When the game works, it works. I wouldn't say it really works, but it's still an alright time.

genuinely has some of the most smooth, well done movement in any game. its very linear but deosnt feel that way at all. the graphics have aged better than some games released more than a decade later and the controls are easily some of the best i've ever played, its so smooth

Absolutely fantastic game; haven't seen anything like it from other games. The unique parkour mechanics bring an exciting and fun experience to the player! More over the exquisite art-style with vibrant colours of the Frutiger Aero / DORFic aesthetics that were popular in the late 00's, in addition to the soundtrack that follows the same aesthetic - albeit, the over exaggerated brightness of the colours may have sometimes been a nuisance; blinding you in certain areas. Anyhow, I would totally recommend others to play this game if they haven't already, as stated previously, its uniqueness, originality, soundtrack and art-style makes this game a phenomenal masterpiece.

A very good parkour game, although I didn't quite enjoy the fighting mechanics or the ALT + TAB issue.
Graphics look really nice even though they are old and have a good feel to it. However the lighting in some parts wasn't great (may be due to my monitor but you can change the settings so it looks fine if it is especially bad in one area. You don't need much to run this so don't worry if your pc/laptop isn't great.
Gameplay is REALLY FUN. Honestly, you could sit there for hours and play. The movement is really fun and also can be challenging at times making you think on what to do. The game does time really well as it gives a realistic time for enemies to appear whilst still letting you have a chance to process and figure something out. However, there are parts where disarming a guard may be hard as the red portion doesn't show up for long but there are many ways to get round this such as punching, slowing time, etc. Also there is basically no grinding unless you want to do time trials but the main story doesn't require grinding at all.
The audio is really nice and I was amazed at the voice acting and sound effects. When I first fell down from a high place, there was a splattering sound that I thought sounded really good and also gory (nothing was shown). Personally, I didn't like the music that much so I put on spotify and turned it down for dialogue which I found much more fun like the character was wearing headphones or something like that.
Also, this game is aimed for younger teens to adults as story may be complicated and mentions of blood, murder with use of guns throughout. Though it is up to the parent to decide ultimately.
I won't spoil anything for the story and don't look up anything about it as the story has plot twists which I loved. Overall, the story is AMAZING.

Overall, I think for me this game was a 10/10 because of how the whole game immerses you with it's story, realism (in some aspects), graphics, but overall it's fun. I really recommend you at least buy this and try it for 2 hours. If you don't like it you can refund it.

There is something different about this game, everything about it is serene. For a game from 2009 its art style makes it timeless. Definitely one of my favorite games out there.
This game is super asthetic and simple the combat and fluency of the fluid movement plus combat is a great combo highly recommend this games especially for the fact that EA didn't screw it over if you like games like portal then play Thai
After watching The Gaming Brit Show's excellent review of the game, I decided to finally take the plunge and try it out for myself, especially since it was on sale.
Firstly, I just want to say that I love the overall aesthetic of the game. The color palette, the music, and the vibe of the levels are fantastic. I really wish there were more games similar to this. As The Gaming Brit Show pointed out, this game embraces the fruitiger aero aesthetic—a unique style rarely seen in futuristic dystopian settings.
Now, onto the gameplay: it is absolutely top-notch, with almost no filler or downtime. It delivers pure, engaging fun and feels like an excellent evolution of the 3D platformer genre. I just wish this game were more popular, as it could have inspired similar titles to follow in its footsteps.
The only real downsides are the story and cutscenes, which could have been better—but who knows? Overall, I highly recommend the game. It genuinely surprises me that EA published this gem.
Graphics and physics are great, but its just not for me, bought it and tried but yea
I used to ADORE this game but playing it today is a rough experience, it feels really clunky and sloooooow... A lot of the time, the grabs on ledges/pipes don't connect, the melee combat is horrible, and the levels lack any kind of flow that I remember them having. I give thumbs up, but that's solely out of nostalgia, it would be cool to see big corpos experiment with fresh concepts like this again.

Pretty inconsistent with the mechanics and the bugs can get annoying. The story is pretty bland but It's worth playing just because it's a legacy game that set the concept in motion.
Mirror's Edge is short, but fun video game to play start to finish! The physics may be hard to control at first, but once enough understanding it's loads of fun and speed! (Probably even better and faster than every mediocre 3D sanic game ever!) Mirror's Edge still holds up 15 years later in 2024!!!! Overall, Mirror's Edge is an 9/10 and amazing in 2024!!!!!

This game is amazing. While the game came out in 2009, the environment an graphics still hold up. The movement is incredibly fun, and the combat is... combat.
I really enjoy the parkour and running around, but the combat system was rage inducing for me and sometimes I had no idea where to go. Facing the police all the time while they have guns, gets repetitive and frustrating. Going against four SWAT officers in tight quarters was the most infuriating fight in a game I've ever done. I had to redo that sequence a few times and other parts of the game. It gets to be too much of the same thing. I still love the parkour aspect and the story is fairly cool.

Mirror's Edge is one of those games that sticks with you. The parkour feels amazing — fast, smooth, and endlessly satisfying. Few games nail the thrill of movement and speed like this one. The minimalist visuals still look sharp, and the soundtrack adds so much — freedom, flow, and a sense of momentum.
I don’t often replay games, and even less so more than once. But Mirror’s Edge is one of the rare exceptions. Unique, memorable, and definitely worth revisiting. I just love this game.

There is something special about this game. For me it's not the parkour perse, and not even the storyline... But there is just something appealing that this game has. The environment, the vibes, the soundtrack... It's just so nice.
Mirror's Edge is not a game I played when it came out, but even without the nostalgia I think this game has aged fantastically. The blistering bright whites of the city and vibrant interiors look gorgeous even 15 years later. There's a large variety of locations and setpieces that keep every level exciting, and the climatic moments of ascending entire buildings leap by leap are a definite highlight to me. Mirror's Edge is a freerunning first-person platformer and there is a pretty rough learning curve to it.
The game rarely holds you hand and forces you to navigate obstacles with mechanical skill alone. It's a bit clunky at times and did get frustrating, but once I got the hang of it I felt I truly could try any combination of jumps, leaps, and slides to get around. Its rare to see a game with movement this fluid and its really special to experience even if a bit flawed. Watching a pro playing this game is incredible and really shows the depth of the movement. I haven't ever really played a game like Mirror's Edge before even after all this time and I think that makes it worth a playthrough alone.
The controls can be tricky, as in, the window to accept a parkour move is pretty tight, _and_ the game often will accept only one particular move even if it makes logical sense to accept others. This overall makes the difficulty higher, but the story moves along, the visuals and cinematics are entertaining, the voice acting is well done. Overall, although first-person 'platforming' has its problems, this game is fun and different.
quick, fun game. story is good but the gameplay rlly makes it, once u learn the controls and get the hang of it its super fun to solve the puzzles! the 2d animated cutscenes are also super cool and unique, really add a lot and help break up the gameplay
alt tabbing while playing sometimes completely broke my computer and i had to restart but not often
also, towards the end what you are supposed to do in certain situations gets a little foggy and can b frustrating. esp the "boss" combat against the dude in white, cause before then u had never had to truly fight anyone and could disarm/take down enemies with one button; so its a little annoying. pressing "alt" is also supposed to point you towards your goal but on the ship level it was all messed up and didnt help at all. basically i hated the ship level

Mirror's Edge came out in 2009 and it's now 2024 but I keep getting back for more of the good vibes and fun gameplay, most of my play time is not recorded on steam because I also use other platforms to play. This game still offers some stunning visuals and extremely good atmosphere because of the music and sound design that fits so well in the world of Mirror's Edge. The story is what it is and the action might not be for the modern audience but I think everybody should still try this game.

The control mechanics are well done with free movement
and seperate buttons for, jump, dash, slide, wall run, roll landing etc..
you really are in control and need skills as opposed to quick time event action games.
and it even blends well with an action movie like story.
Finished it multiple times and the time trial modes are a ton of fun too.
thats how good the game mechanics are.
I would be very interested in a VR Update.
