Filled with bugs, shorter than you want it to be, lacking features you crave, and just *not* fully tuned yet - this alpha release may infect your brain and leave you curled, twitching in a corner, while you jones for more zombie goodness. Play at your own risk!
That having been said . . .
Raw, aggressive hunger - there's nothing like being a Zombie when you want to do some damage! Now you can control your own horde of zombies and lay waste to the tidy world that humans have created for themselves. Feast on their brains, grow, mutate, and gain incredible powers. Take over a small town (deputies are delicious!). Overwhelm the arriving SWAT units, gather civilian bodies, and reduce a mighty city to rubble. Feast on the remains of generals as their weapons lie smoldering and scattered.
Undead Overlord is the world's most succulent Zombie Dominion RTS. Zoom into a world where destruction is the goal. Mindless zombies? Not when you are the controlling Mind!
We’re proud to make our Alpha1 build available on Steam Early Access. The game was approved for distribution on Steam through the Greenlight program last fall, after just over a month’s worth of voting, but the game still needed more work at that point. The fact of the matter is - it *still* needs more work!
You all know about Beta software. Well . . . Alpha comes before Beta, so it's full of crawling bugs and creeping inconsistencies that we haven't had time to stomp out just yet - but you can help us do the stomping, and have some fun in the process!
Alpha1.16 lets you experience the beginnings of the reign of the Undead Overlord with the first five story missions, two skirmish maps, and a special alphaTest map available to those who take part in the game’s Early Access program. Play the game like you're riding a bucking bronco - ride that sucker into submission. Then participate in forum discussions on the current state of the game, have your say, and join us as we add more missions, more maps, new features, and work towards a full release.

This game had a amazing concept.... To bad it is dead.... Fun for what it was. I was hoping maybe a mod team would pick it up and do something with it.... Abandoned game for now / forever.....
Really hoped this game would progress and see more updates. There is honestly few campaign missions u can do and small sandbox mode. You can spawn units, humans and zombies and watch em fight. Thats about it. Could of been soo much more. Too late for me bought it long ago. Now i somwtimes go back to it for a quick one of those 5 to 10 min games just to enjoy the sandbox battle. $16.99 not worth it. Should be like a buck or even free now.
I had high hopes for this game. I enjoyed the concept since I like controlling a horde of zombies causing havoc on humans. Stubbs the Zombie did that perfectly! Though, seems like that JumpCore pretty much just scammed us by fully abandoning the game with no updates for 7 years so far. Please don't waste your money on this game. I thought it would become something great but it ended up just being a glorified scam.
15 dollars for 3 missions, controls are poor and the game is HUGELY unpolished. they say it's an Alpha build, but it's been like that for 6+ years. screw the developer, if you aren't going to finish a game or even try, don't start and get peoples hopes up. Go buy stubbs the zombie instead!
this game was so promising when i bought it in 2015. now almost 4 years later pretty much nothing has changed and the dev team have ran off with our money. i dont know why this game is still for sale
Abandoned Cash Grab - Boycott JumpCore Productions
I REALLY liked the idea of this game and was REALLY looking forward to it, but after two years of no activity it is 100% abandoned.....
I hate to say no but hear me out.
Good things
If you want to have youre own zombie
bad
the commands if you dont do them in just a way it glitches out zombies get stuck in a walk way when theres more than on passing. Plus after two years i had hoped this game would be better but as everyone else has said. like rats they abbonded ship and now we have a wreck on the coast thats called steam.
does not run on latest windows 11 without doing techie fixes GABE why is this allowed DEVS DITCH AND RUN AND WISH THEM THE WORST a special place in hell for them i had high hopes for it as well
This game had a lot of potential. Development has been dead for a long time. Not sure if it was lack of funding, or we just got the shaft from a bunch of A hole developers. Either way, I would be happy if they would just release a level editor so I could finish the game myself.
Abandoned without any statement. Even the Homepage is down...
DON´T BUY IT
No word from the devs for over a year now -.-
I got this..... let's call it a "game". When it released and i'm still waiting for them to finish it. Which is in all likely hood never going to happen. So for anyone who had any sort of thought of buying this game. I say this. Don't waste your money, time, and hope on this. Because like me you will never get them back.
The game is dead, no more updates no more zombies, no more anything. Wish the steam refunds would allow return of product if it isnt finished in a timely manner have a feeling Devs would be more inclined to finish products if their money could be lost.
Really disappointed in this. It seemed so promising.
No updates at all, just a few levels filled with bugs, the devs better get their heads outta their as'ses for real.
Some people actually paid money for this, and they expect something in return.
This game showed a lot of promise and it was good, but then after an update at the end of 2014 the game has been dead, no updates no word from the developers nothing, and even the last update was only after the community managed to get the developers attention after months of silence, and now its been nearly a year, don't but this game until at least the developers do something to show they are working on the game.
Warning aside, lets get into the actual game.
You are the 'Hive Mind' of the zombie and control every zombie in that has been infected. Only 3 missions and 2 scenarios so very limited there it also has a sandbox however it also only contains one map so overall the game is not worth the money for developers are asking for
The very definition of crooks.
Another abandoned project. Another one to the list. Looked very promising. Thanks Gabe.
After catching up with JumpCore in the forum and their promise of an update more than 2 months ago, (update: more than 2 years now)
I dont believe anything else from these guys. Avoid.
Early Access Refund Group
Still able to purchase at this very moment , is high disregard from VALVE towards customers.
it would be good for an "early access MOBILE GAME" but for so little content, few and far between updates, it doesnt fit its price tag, granted its a small dev team but at least SOME posts keeping us in the loop of whats going on would have made me feel better knowing that something would be done, its starting to feel like another one of those early access cash grabs. still for what its worth its a fun game, if it was mobile you could complete it before you even finish a poop.
EDIT: After waiting this long for even a news update, i think everyone who purchased this game is in agreement it was nothing but a cash grab, keep an eye out for this publishers name in future, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice ......
The pace of development on this game says it all. As of now (2/16/15), the last update that's been made was well over two months ago. Gameplay is glitchy, unresposive and all-around not appealing. Heavily regret purchasing.
This game can be great. Instead of killing zombies you controll them witch is fun and you don't see many games that do this.
Its in alpha but shows a lot of potential to become a great game. I'm hoping for new levels to come as soon as possible.
Obviously there was some stuff that i didn't like. Such as the way the zombies behave. For example when you tell them to attack someone even tough they are getting their ass kicked they completely ignore the person thats tryng to kill them. So pretty much what you do in this game is to tell them where to go and they handle the rest. The heart beat when your chaos meter gets filled up is really loud and annoying... So on. I am writing these of the top of my head so i probably will froget about some of them.
Played all the current levels. First 3 was a blast to play. Skirmish map however is really really hard.
The last map is only for alpha players and it basicly lets you spawn any npc you want and just do as you please witch was the best map for me. I dont think there will be anything like a map editor/creator. At least i havent heard of it. If there is and i think there HAS TO BE a map editor. That would give the game so much replay value.
So AI acts stupid sometimes. Both zombies and humans. Haven't come across any bugs. The existing levels are pretty good but there is room for improvement. Other than that this game is really fun to play and it has an idea that we don't see in games very often. I cant say you will like the game but i certinly love zombie games and this was one of the best i played as far as the gameplay goes...
I LOVE the idea of being with the "bad guys", that is when you find out how unfair guns are!
I like how the navigation works and how strategic you have to be to coordinate your horde.
Man I had some real fun last night and I can't wait for the final release!!
Cheers!
It's got potential. If only we could do something about the shotguns one-shotting Zombies, it would be a wonderful game.
I like the fact that clearly, the missions are meant to have some challenge to them; sacrificing individuals to kill stronger enemies, luring enemies out, using the arch-types effectively is a MUST.
I also like the fact that the arch-types reanimate their foes, it's nice to know that when my Speed Zombie is cutting a swath of death through SWAT soldiers, it's fallen prey will revive and help continue the fight.
I /LOVE/ the fact that the Humans retain their appearance they had when alive, as Zombies, rather than relying on a single model.
However, I have a few problems with the game:
AI: I dislike how the Zombies act like foolhardy lemmings and just all charge a nearby enemy without me saying so, it's a pain in the ass to try and keep them from rushing out of cover and being mowed down accordingly, it's also a pain to get a large group through a door in a timely manner.
Weapon Balancing: Shotguns are more powerful at range than Assault Rifles. WAT. I'd understand if it's like, a one-hit up close, but the range of shotguns is just annoying as all hell.
But, overall, it is a game with potential, and while it has problems, it's considerabley better than most other Indy strategy games, and I look foward to tracking this as it updates accordingly.
This game holds a nice touch of a unique genre. The graphics may not be great and the game only has 3 missions and 1 skirmish, as well as a sandbox style map. But for an early access game this isn't bad compared to some of the other things on greenlight. But think it through before you by the game. Were you really expecting a whole 10 levels and HD quality graphics? Those are pretty rare on greenlight.
