- 50+ enemies, including the fearsome Triger!
- The Dungeonmans Academy, your home base that grows with each play.
- A world-class soundtrack brimming with music straight from the era of RPG classics.
In an untamed wilderness, where civilization lives in the shadow of fearsome beasts and lawless villainy, the only light against the darkness are the courageous Dungeonmens! With cunning minds, mighty thews and iron wills, these great heroes and heroines are dedicated toward exploring the unknown, taming the wild, and crushing the fiercest of beasts.
Adventure begins at the Dungeonmans Academy, an ever-growing bastion of learning that expands and evolves based on the efforts of its graduates. As heroes return from their journeys burdened by giant piles of precious loot and ancient wisdom, the Academy grows and future graduates are able to take advantage of this knowledge, starting with a leg up on their quest to avenge the bold graduates who fell in previous battles.
The vast overworld teems with adventure! There are indeed dungeons deep and plentiful, but also dripping swamps, deathless crypts, huddled warrens, forest camps of bandits and highwaymen, ancient towers ruled by powerful despots, and even more terrible dangers waiting in the darkest shadows. A Dungeonmans rises to the challenge with a healthy mix of Skills and Masteries, fighting up close, at range, with steel and spell alike. Unfettered by "class restrictions", a Dungeonmans chooses the right tools for the battles ahead.

fun
An awesome game where you get to relive the true meaning of hardcore mode and ensure every step is tactical. I've been into older PS1 tile-based game like Torneko and Chocobo Dungeon, and this really hits the spot! There are plenty of veteran players in-game and also seasonal items. Don't miss them out.
I have not really completed the game, but I will soon. As the game has very limited build guides, i'm posting this here for the beginners to progress easier. Or you'll be an old poke like me heading into 60+ hours before understanding the game ;)
Beginner Build:
1) Perk : Southern Born + Tireless
2) Dual Wield + Bow
3) Get Light Armor, Rapier Wit
4) Banners (both Physical / Magic Range banners)
5) From here on, enjoy the game!
Strategy:
1) Always rest before battles / opening doors.
2) Don't rush into battles or you'll die.
3) Get your Chicken (Pet) asap. It helps!
4) Rapier Wit / Light Armor all the time unless you have 2000 HP.
5) Use scrolls(pin to win, despair) and potions (barksin pots, battle pots, champion pots)
6) Always check the dungeon difficulty as you progress lower. It gets a lot tougher.
7) Frequently imbue your armor/weapon with enchantment scrolls.
8) Don't stay in a poison cloud unless you have a shield on / poison resist.
9) Bleeding kills. REALLY FAST.
10) Join the discord , it's a great community.
Peace!
No keybinding in game. Controls are just terrible. Apparently I can edit a .txt file to rebind keys. What.
Love it, hate it.
Lots of replayability
Dungeonmans is the one and only turn-based roguelite that seeks to answer the existential query: What is a mans? Although it may never actually answer this, what it provides along the way is one of the most engaging roguelite loops I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing in quite some time.
What I Liked
Progression: Whether you play the intended Heroic mode with beneficial meta progression built upon and carried over across runs, or opting to face the one-life Ironmans mode, progression feels meaningful and tangible all along the way.
Character Builds: Lots of ways to play and build your character through the skill tree, supplemented by an array of Diablo-like randomized loot, as well as handcrafted uniques and sets. While some skills are locked to specific “classes,” the vast majority can be used (even if situationally) across multiple types of characters.
Birds: Preparing para-militaristic poultry partners (ie. your very own chicken sidekick(s)) may be the greatest conception (and boon) known to mans.
Music: Both the sound effects and music are excellent. The style reminds me a lot of Tangledeep, which is very similar (a spiritual successor?) to Dungeonmans.
What I Disliked
Bugs: Only a few (and all minor) encountered over my 50+ hour adventure thus far, but an annoyance nonetheless. On Steam Deck at least, your hotbars reset every time you save and close the game (“save” my foot). Also, the gamepad controls on a new Heroic run tend to be a bit wonky until you enter your first dungeon.
Consider Buying This If…
You crave retro-inspired, turn-based roguelikes/lites with meaningful progression and depth thanks to RPG elements. A must-buy if you enjoyed Tangledeep (like me). Also a must-buy if you like poultry (battle or otherwise).
Overall Opinion: GREAT
Based on a BAD, OK, GOOD, GREAT rating scale.
Played entirely on Steam Deck.
Awesome roguelite game with great vibe. UI and controls are a bit tricky, but once gets used to it, it's great. I forsee many hours spent on this game for myself :D
Fun traditional roguelike with great humor and good vibes. Has an overworld map, starting classes, and skill trees.
Fun and funny Rogue Like. Not too hard as these things go, though not precisely easy. Still, unless you are playing on Ironmans then you will eventually win as you keep gaining more power for your next character until you snowball into an unstoppable monster from the very beginning! But, complacency still gets you dead. Don't be like me and one-shot yourself (at 1400HP!) by blasting an entire room full of like 20+ DAMAGE REFLECTING monsters with a huge area of effect attack doing about 900 damage on each monster. Read the dang description on them instead of yawning and hitting the 'kill everything button' just because you have done it a hundred times before... Because that might include yourself :). I won the game with next character though. Didn't make that mistake twice! LOL
I admit that I have a love hate relationship with roguelikes.
The first time I played Dungeonmans I just didn't feel it. I tried for a couple hours to get into it and just couldn't so I hung it up and let it linger in my library. Actually I just wasn't feeling any roguelikes at the time.
Fast forward a couple years, new computer and I had the itch to try some rogue likes again and Dungeonmans was at the top of my library list, so I decided to install and give it another chance. And this time.... Yeah I fell down the rabbit hole hard. Like a 180 hours hard.
TL;DR Dungeonmans is only the second roguelike to make it to my favorites bar and it's gonna stay there.
Was looking for a ToME like game and Dungeonmans hit the spot. As a well developed roguelike should push you for a "one more run", this game manages to give the feeling.
