Its a great Resident evil game. Like in Revelations 1, there are a plenty of scare and disgusting enemies yet, unlike Rev1, this game has elements of survival horror. Game really has a place in a franchise but it does feel like a great spin off, not a main game, but this is how future Residnet Evils are suppose to be done.
Gameplay feels like Revelations 1 but there are 2 timelines each set 6 months apart. Throughtout of episodes, those timelines "cross" eachother and leads you toward the truth behind everything. Mechanincs are from Revelations 1 but you control 2 players at once. It is interestingly done. Can those "2 characters, one player" mechanics be done better, probably. Am I going to complain about how are done, no. Its easy to play and gives you another perspective.
Raid mode, on the other hand, is based on Revelations 1 raid mode but executed on another level. Gun play is little slower that some 3rd person shooter but levels and enemies are from whole franchise and you will have a lot of hours of fun there. Its a great fun either solo, a friend or random stranger who joined your party
Couldn't like it, is too easy. Split screen is too small. Feels unpolished. worst until now . Felt like a shore to play it. Did like The chapter story telling though.
I got this game because I enjoyed RE Revelations (1) so much, and this was on sale for like 2 bucks or something. I'll go ahead and say the same thing others have, in that I didn't expect the purchase of the game would not buy me the entire thing as it is sold in episodic releases, and to buy the game is only to buy the first episode of four.
But besides that, it's just nowhere near as fun as the first. There are a lot more places where it feels like things are highly contrived (sure that's the norm for RE games but just to an elevated level here). The guns are.... fine, upgrading guns is.... fine, but it's also one of those games where it feels like you HAVE to look things up in order to get them, and you don't know what medals there are until you complete someone's section of the episode. I didn't even know about the special bugs you can find / destroy until sometime towards the end of episode 2. It's like the company really just wants you to replay everything multiple times for multiple reasons, etc, again just too much. Too much meta gaming going on and just not enough fun for me. Sorry~
Oh right, and there's way more cursing than I'm used to in RE games, it's just overkill.
Good balance between shooting and exploration and playing with two characters but does not feel and belong to Resident Evil universe ,best part playing with BARRY and little Girl ....its toooooo dramatic like TV show ....and they used greedy why make people but episods ....so buy it on high discount only
Very disappointing sequel to rev 1. Pretty much everything about it is bad, skip this one
good game raid mode is amazing
Alright, so far its a decent storyline but there are a few things I cant understand with Moira. If your life is depending on it you wont use a gun? okay objects can come in handy, but a gun has range and wont get you f***ed up in a second. (keeps bugging me) 2nd problem is the camera, the way you move around with it just doesnt feel right to me its like most older games just weird. When running the camera is just glitchy if your using WASD and mouse, the keys are slowing the camera and mouse does it faster but i use the keys for better movement with it (dont know if that makes sense but it just does to me) just not a fan of the camera movment. (not sure if this can be changed in settings but my first time playing). Settings are also weird I set refresh rate at my 100hz but I cannot change the fps to 100 it just sticks at 60? I dont know if thats just how it is in game, but also some of the controls im not a fan of for instance… The run button, what game makes Alt the run button? Just feels inconvenient and makes me stretch my finger more. These are the things I do like; The fact you get to swap between 2 different characters and they both have their different uses, getting to swap items between the two instead of one joint inventory system and the combat system where the flashlight is in the monsters face and they get kicked from the other girl. Overall I would say the game is worth the price I paid, which was 1-2 pounds I believe. It may be an older game but there are older games than this that clear by farrr. ( I do like it overall)
One of the best (and most underrated) Resident Evil games, directed by Yasuhiro Anpo, the same person who would later co-direct the remakes of RE2 and RE4, mind you. It has decent characters (it’s still Resident Evil, not Shakespeare), interesting gameplay ideas, and a good horror atmosphere (especially noteworthy after the missteps of the PS3 era).

One fine chapter of the Resident Evil lore, this time featuring Claire and some nice new characters (one of them a bit unexpected). The gameplay and game controls, however, are just as scuffed and frustrating as always, and if you're playing on keyboard and mouse, the sensitivity adjustments are very poor, so even the lowest settings can still be too high for some players. Go for the achievements if you have the patience to deal with the classic problems or stay on lower difficulty if you're in it just for the lore. All in all, a pleasant experience in general.
A good campaign, well paced. But, for me, I way prefer the Raid Mode mini-games... They are just immense fun, short & sweet.

Fun spooky game with a lot of disgusting things going on in it and some chick that used to be hot 8/10
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 - A Gripping Tale of Zombies, Island Vacations, and Barry Burton’s Dad Jokes
Rating: 7.5/10
If you’ve ever dreamed of being stranded on a creepy island with more viruses than a 2000s Windows computer, then Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is the game for you. It's got everything: mutated monsters, creepy children, overly dramatic villains, and Barry Burton reminding you why he’s everyone's favorite grizzled dad. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Is it weirdly fun? You bet.
The Plot:
The game follows two storylines: Claire Redfield and Moira Burton (Barry’s daughter) trying to escape from an island prison filled with horrors, and Barry Burton, who arrives six months later to do what dads do best—rescue his kid while complaining about the mess. Oh, and there’s a mysterious little girl named Natalia who may or may not be creepier than the actual monsters.
Pros:
Barry Burton’s Dad Energy: If you didn’t love Barry before, you will now. His one-liners and gruff concern for his daughter make him the MVP. Also, he packs a magnum, so he’s basically an unstoppable dad-bod with a gun.
Co-Op Action: Nothing says bonding like teaming up with a friend to fight off hordes of mutated monsters and yelling at each other to pass the herb. The perfect activity for a Friday night in.
Survival Horror Feels: The game does a good job of blending tension with action. Dark, creepy environments with limited resources give off that classic Resident Evil panic, while the jump-scares remind you that you should never let your guard down.
Two-Way Tag Team: Claire and Moira or Barry and Natalia each have unique abilities, so you’ll be switching between characters a lot. Claire gets to shoot stuff, while Moira... waves a flashlight and swears a lot. Natalia sees through walls like some kind of supernatural security camera. Yay teamwork!
Monsters Everywhere: The enemy designs are delightfully gross. If you’ve ever wanted to fight monsters that look like they’ve spent way too long in a blender, here’s your chance.
Cons:
Moira and Her Fear of Guns: Moira refuses to use guns because of , which is fine... except when you’re surrounded by zombies and she’s waving a flashlight around like it’s a laser pointer. You’ll be like, “Girl, PLEASE, grab a gun and HELP.”
Natalia Is Creepy AF: Barry’s little sidekick can sense enemies through walls, which is cool, but she also stares at things like she’s seen into the void and the void stared back. Why does she give off ghost-child vibes? Because she probably is one.
Repetitive Puzzles: You like pushing crates and unlocking doors with power drills? You’re in luck, because that’s about half the puzzles in this game. Prepare for crate-pushing glory.
The Villain’s Monologues: The main villain, Alex Wesker, has taken the whole “I’m a mad scientist” thing to an extreme. Expect long, philosophical speeches about fear and viruses, which you’ll tune out after the first few minutes. Get to the part where we shoot zombies, Alex.
Episode Structure: The game is split into four episodes, and while it’s a cool throwback to episodic horror shows, it can break the flow of the story. Also, cliffhangers are just rude when you’re fighting for your life.
Final Verdict:
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is like a weird blend of survival horror, soap opera family drama, and a buddy-cop movie where one of the cops is a cranky dad and the other is his supernatural child sidekick. It’s not perfect, but it’s packed with enough campy dialogue, intense monster fights, and Barry Burton dad moments to keep you entertained.
Pro Tip: If you're not here for the horror, at least stay for Barry's magnificent one-liners.
Excellent asymmetrical coop Resident Evil featuring Claire (RE2), Barry (RE1), his pottymouth daughter Moira, and a mysterious young girl. It serves as a stand-alone game in the RE universe featuring new and returning characters, and does not tie in with the first Revelations game. Its episodic nature works fine to separate the two different paths you will be following (Claire+Moira / Barry+Natalia), somewhat how RE2 does Game A and B with Leon and Claire.
First episode is overall okay. The fact you need to buy all episodes is scummy. Shame on me for not reading on what I was getting. Took about 2 hours to finish the first episode from the base game. Only buy if it is heavily discounted.
A very streamlined RE experience with longer levels than its portable predecessor. Takes some notes from Last Of Us to deliver a very narrative heavy story with lots of familiar characters. Definitely a healthly part of a spooky breakfast
This and the first one are probably the most underrated Resident Evil games to ever exist if you ask me. The Raid mode has infinite amount of hours you can grind into it by building guns up, levelling up characters, and unlocking all the skills for everybody, too. Which believe me... is not an easy task and it'll take you 1000s of hours to get all of that done.
The storyline in this game, too, is one of the strongest storylines I've seen in any RE game. Alex Wesker is great final boss and the mechanics they risked in this title I wish was used more of their titles (or at least give us a Revelations 3). All the sleepless nights just playing through this game on Xbox 360... What an amazing/unique game this was/still is till this day.
If bought on sale, congratulations! Definitely a huge steal with the amount of hours you can simply get out of $5.00.
10/10 game for sure! Sadly Capcom won't ever make anything this amazing ever again...
So I thought I was big-brained when I bought this, thinking I got the WHOLE game, only to find out they hit me with that "You were almost a Jill sandwich" move by only giving me episode 1. Like, what is this, Capcom? A demo?
But nah, jokes aside, I went ahead and grabbed all the chapters ‘cause I ain’t tryna pull a Leon running low on ammo situation here. And once you’re in, man, the game’s a vibe. Claire’s out here throwing hands with zombies like, “I survived Raccoon City, what’s good?” And Barry? My man’s over there like, “Where’s the damn comms tower?”
But lemme tell you, paying per episode? That’s some Merchant energy “What’re ya buyin’? Oh, the rest of the game? That’ll be extra.”
Still, I’m not mad ‘cause once you’re deep into the action, it's all worth it. The gameplay’s 🔥, and the co-op? Just make sure you go all in, or you’ll be stuck looking at the next episode like Wesker staring at a boulder he can’t punch.
So yeah, cop all the chapters upfront, or you’re gonna feel like Chris without his protein shakes.
Ported and optimised as well as Alex Wesker mental state.
It was good, but the end was disappointing. Ik its for the plot, but i wanted a happy end.
Overall its good but old, so difficulties are guaranteed.
Revelations 2 is a good deal of fun to me. The story is fine, but the Raid Mode is very addicting. I already went hard on a console version so I haven't quite maxed out on Steam in the same way. Might go back to do it again, though.
SO it turns out that u need to buy every single chapter... i bought the game for like a dollar/euro on sales thinking its the whole game cause no where does it mention only ch1. Yeah so could have gotten smth else rather than this :///
Game play is pretty solid for a TPS it does feel like a resident evil close to RE4 but you have a partner that makes it a bit obnoxious because the enemy targets the AI partner often and to find spare items or "lock pick" chests you have to use them the game will feel like you have no true direction with out reading the notes though in the long run it sucks you have to buy episodes so if you're looking a reviews honestly spring for the "bundle" it will save you money in the long run not a bad game though
Completing the RAID MODE with all the characters unlocks a legendary sex scene with Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield.
JUSTIFIED ✅✅
WTF is this? i bought the game because i wanted to play with my friend online but then i just found out that the game doesn't support campaign online this is such a scam that i didn't expect from capcom😡.
I hope that they come to their senses and release an online co op mod or update so that we'll be able to play online.
The Raid Mode in this game and the first ALONE is god tier gameplay and 100% beats mercenaries mode by a mile. Id happily get this game SOLEY for Raid mode (Campaign is so bog standard but claire n barry tho top tier gamers) you can get so many hours into this game from raid mode and i will see how many hours it takes me to reach end game.
In conclusion = i give this game Raid Mode out of Raid Mode ty.
Very sad to say this game has major issues. Maybe you wont experience the same problem but here is what am experiencing...
The game crashes to desktop on WIndows 11 during the first episode at the point where you reach the radio tower. The moment Clair is about to climb the tower before it goes to pre-rendered cut scene it crashes without fail. I tried 3 times even using different compatibility settings, reducing the in-game resolution and then tried windowed mode but nothing works.
If you have Windows 11 I might advise you to stay clear...
this game fucking sucks from the enemy ai scale on the hardest difficulty to the story
if you say "well its the hardest difficulty for a reason" then you clearly have not played this game
don't play this game unless you like torture?
Resident Evil Revelations 2 - the game that brought back the survival horror magic, but also made me question my life choices for playing it at 3 AM with the lights off.
I'll start with the good stuff. The game's atmosphere is top-notch, with creepy environments that'll make you feel like you're walking through a haunted house (which, spoiler alert, you kind of are). The sound design is also noteworthy, with creaking doors, groaning monsters, and an eerie soundtrack that'll keep you on edge.
The gameplay is where things get interesting. The combat is satisfying, with a variety of guns and melee attacks to take down the undead hordes. But what really sets Revelations 2 apart is its focus on exploration and puzzle-solving. You'll need to scavenge for ammo and supplies, and use your wits to overcome obstacles and avoid those pesky monsters.
Now, onto the not-so-good stuff. The game's story is a bit of a mess, with some convoluted plot twists and characters that feel more like cardboard cutouts than actual people. And don't even get me started on the QTEs (quick-time events) - they're annoying, frustrating, and feel like a cheap way to create tension.
Despite its flaws, I'd still recommend Resident Evil Revelations 2 to fans of the series and survival horror games in general. It's a fun, if not always frightening, ride that'll keep you entertained for hours on end. Just be sure to play it with the lights on, and maybe have a spare pair of underwear handy. Trust me on that one.
Overall, Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a solid addition to the series, even if it's not perfect. If you're looking for a spooky good time, give it a shot. Just don't say I didn't warn you...
As much as I love resident evil, Revelations 2 is scummy for wanting to upcharge me extra per episode. I was under the impression I bought the ENTIRE game, not just episode 1.
Honestly, for the year it was made in, it's really nice and it offers quite a unique story and gameplay ngl. A 10/10 so far.
lmao the fuck is this episodic nonsense, can only play first act (2 hours) and it costs same as a regular game? what trash.
love this game raid mode need more like it and the story is fun
This is a Resident Evil game in name only. In no way shape or form is this a real Resident Evil game regardless if it is made by Capcom or not. Resident Evil Revelations 2 is the 2nd worst "Resident Evil" game I have ever played. (SPOILER) Alex Wesker (Albert Magically has a sister that exists) pretty much just wants to take over the body of some little girl. By that premise alone I give this game a big fat F as this concept is not original in the slightest, doesn't fit for a being who will outlive most people normally anyway, doesn't make sense in the Resident Evil universe at all when the whole point is about creating abominations and viruses, and is beyond stupid in and of itself. Alex Wesker wants someone who wont feel fear yet the entire game every time she see's the little girl she has an anxiety attack. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS. Whoever was the idea man behind this game has a weird fetish for torturing people to death with barb wire, rope, knives, saws, and other devices for the sake of bringing out fear and triggering some virus which doesn't turn people consistently nor does it turn them into all roughly the same thing and instead turns one guy into a G virus reject out of nowhere, and Alex into some elongated stretch monster? These enemies look like they were either inspired by Clive Barker or ripped straight from the game The Suffering. On top of that this games main story takes a backseat to Moira, Barry Burtons daughter, moaning and complaining about how her dad is a piece of crap, that she is the way she is because of him, and in the midst of being attacked by monsters will do nothing but say how much she hates him. This broke my back as it is so utterly ridiculous and obnoxious but they shove it down your throat the whole game without ever stopping. The person that is supposed to be Claire Redfield doesn't act, walk or talk at all like the real deal. This game was sold on the premise of her in it yet if you removed her the game wouldn't change whatsoever as Moira would survive off of plot armor alone or the fact that the enemy would commit suicide hearing her for the 500th time rant about how bad a dad Barry is. During the Barry and little girl sections of the game it goes out of its way to very lazily tie this game to RE Rev 1 and RE 5 and paint how the little girls parents are dead, she got put into a home, Alex telling the girl she should die die die over and over again, and even slicing up her teddy bear and slathering it in blood. The idea guy behind this is either a pedophile or doing some weird stuff in his spare time that should be monitored. Barry is cucked the entire game and simply embraces it for no discernible reason so his character is toast. This game was originally broken into episodes and how it plays is odd as some episodes are 30 minutes long and another is 2 hours long. Achievement hunting this was a pain in the butt and don't recommend based off the crappy gunplay, enemy abusing glitches, not being able to shoot enemies if there too close to you, or the absolutely unacceptable AI controlling the other character (always controlling 2 people at a time) and intentionally running into enemies and standing in front of them on harder difficulties and killing themselves. All of the extra modes add nothing but nonsense and no real challenge only gimmicks. If you liked the raid mode of RE Revelations 1 DO NOT PLAY this one. It consists of playing the many many levels no less than 4 times each on varying difficulties and there's almost no challenge, fun, or incentive to play this mode. Most of the enemies you fight in raid mode are copies of copies of enemies you fight in Revelations 1, RE 5, and RE 6. They all look and fight just a little off because there not quite the real deal. I was just about done doing everything there is to do in this game including all the records but I finally had enough and said im done. This whole entire game has been nothing but bullcrap the entire time I have played it and is designed to waste time on purpose. It is irredeemable. Never coming back to this game and if you have any common sense whatsoever you will do the same.
Probably the most underrated RE game. Really good level design, some of the best character models of any RE game, and a dark, gritty art style reminiscent of SH3. Also the sheer amount of content in this game is impressive. The story gets kinda weird at the end which I also like. It's worth full price easily IMO, but on sale it's a definite no brainer
its resident evil.. download it and level up some characters you'll remember from previous games. raid mode should be put into all resident evil game in my opinion!
It´s my first Resident Evil ever... AND I LOVE IT. It´s not the best but it makes soo much fun to play. Definetily worth it.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is a solid survival horror experience that balances tense moments with action and exploration. The episodic structure works well, keeping the story engaging, and the partner system adds an interesting dynamic to both combat and puzzle-solving. While it may not be as terrifying as some of the older Resident Evil titles, it brings enough atmosphere, tension, and fun co-op gameplay to stand out in the series.
Raid Mode makes a return, and I have to say, it’s incredibly addictive. It’s a fast-paced, action-packed side mode where you take on waves of enemies in timed missions, and it feels more arcadey than the main game. There’s a lot of customization and upgrading, and I found myself sinking hours into it, unlocking new characters, weapons, and abilities. It’s a great bonus that extends the game’s replayability significantly, especially if you’re into online or local co-op.
Final Score: 8/10
I only own chapter 1. You have to buy this game in chapters which is lame if you ask me, Highly think about this as all other RE games are full games. Totally stupid idea if you ask me Peace all.
this one is way worse than first revelations game and overall a bad experience for me. So boring omg........ I may revisit it years later but for now its pretty bad and its a bit sad cause Claire is my fav RE girl :(
I have 3 sisters, and its nice to see a game portray strong females. Resident Evil does it right, unlike woke hollywood or woke disney. They ruined star wars. Thankfully, Japan is kicking ass and taking names. Love the visuals and horror elements of this game. my little syster who is 13 was so scared to play the levels with me. My other sister loves to play this with her college roommate. THank you capcom for finally adding online coop campaign mode
Campaign is good, Raid is GREAT. It'll keep you engaged for weeks until you hit level 100.
For some reason every Resident Evil game makes me want to 100% it. They're just that good
No clue why some people think negatively of this game - it deserves Overwhelmingly Positive.
The only issue I encountered was the aiming, which one can resolve with a simple DLL file.
If you like the action-oriented Resi games, this one's pretty good, though do take note it's an action game with somewhat restricted ammo, not survival horror.
Feels like playing co-op RE4. So much fun, has the classic strange RE dialogue mixed with the best take on the franchise' formula. A laugh from start to finish in the best way. Maybe the last hurrah for this style of RE game with the franchise now moving in different directions. Hard to believe this game runs on a handheld, excellent work from the devs.
First this series was silly in a good way. Then it was silly in a not so good way. Then it was good again. Then too silly. Then too good. And so on. and on and on and on. Until we all fall into the sun.
An interesting game to say the least, much more atmospheric and a return to form compared to Revelations 1. Playing as Barry and Natalia is the highlight, unfortunately the mechanics and level design for Claire and Moira's chapters are a bit undercooked. But if you want a little story to set up Resident Evil 6, this fills in some of those gaps. It does end on a cliffhanger though, and no telling if that will ever be resolved.
they made an cliffhanger so that you would buy the DLC but besides that it is a solid game
gameplay is good but you have to pay for every episode that ea startegy
