its a great action game just not a good resident evil game although if youre open minded with this franchise you will like it
If the Resident Evil franchise is a horror survival genre, this game is the action version of it.
It took a while to get used to the controls, but when you do its a good game, lots of action and for a change you can happily gun zombies and infected enemies down by the dozen. There are a lot of characters in this and the story is good how it ties these characters together and meet each other from time to time.
All in all this is entertainment, familiar characters in new situations but enjoyable overall
Even detached from the resident evil franchise this is just an awful game you literally just walk down hallways shooting. The zombies have wildly inconsistent health. The reticent just goes wherever it wants. The melee combat is so unreliable you get killed by enemies who you punch and fly 5 feet away from you. There is no reason to waste healing items because they only give you like 10 of them but you full heal if you die and respawn. NPCs you encounter and talk to in cutscenes just thanos snap out of existence when their part in the story is done.
like was this game made over a weekend? this legit feels like a $5 itch.io game
Resident Evil 6 is cinematic action game. It's definitely not a survival horror. Leon's campaign best thing of this game. The quick-time event scenes so excessive and interrupting gameplay flow. The worst part of the game is that it's co-op gameplay. For all bad things, RE6 good action game experience according to time.
It's not as bad as it's reputation would suggest. The gameplay seems to have been designed around all the multiplayer functionality they wanted to implement, so it definitely doesn't feel like a traditional RE game, but the story is still good, you get to see a lot of characters interacting that we've never had before, and it's like having 4 half-length games in 1 package.
The biggest issue is that the game needed another 6-12 months of development. It can be very janky at times, especially when the camera starts misbehaving.
If you're a fan of Resident Evil, grab it for the story and the lore, Just wait for a big discount before you do.
⭐️⭐️⭐☆☆ (A massive, chaotic spectacle — that runs out of steam fast)
Resident Evil 6 is the definition of quantity over quality. There’s no denying this game is packed to the brim with content — four full-length campaigns, tons of characters, skill systems, action set pieces — but after a while, it all starts to blur together. And worse, it just stops being fun.
On paper, it sounds great:
Leon’s got zombies and moody hallways.
Chris has guns and explosions every five seconds.
Jake’s punching monsters in the face.
Ada’s sneaking around with a crossbow.
Sounds like variety, right?
In practice, though, most of the gameplay boils down to endless shooting galleries, constant QTEs, and bloated set pieces that forget why people love Resident Evil in the first place. The pacing drags. The tone flips between serious bioterror drama and full-on action movie nonsense. And the horror? It’s almost nonexistent.
Mechanically, there’s a lot going on — dodges, rolls, counters, melee takedowns, cover systems — but it ends up feeling more chaotic than tactical. The gunplay is decent, but the enemy design rarely makes you think or adapt. After your 30th room of generic enemies charging at you while the game screams “PRESS X TO NOT DIE,” it starts to feel like a chore.
Even co-op, which was the saving grace of RE5, can’t carry the whole experience here. It's definitely better with a friend — you can laugh at the ridiculousness and carry each other through the slog — but that doesn't fix the fact that most of the campaigns overstay their welcome by several hours. It just keeps going, and going, and going — with diminishing returns.
There are some fun moments. Some boss fights are cool. Some environments look great. The production value is high. But overall, RE6 feels like it’s trying to be five games at once and ends up doing none of them particularly well.
It’s big. It’s loud. It’s technically impressive. But once the novelty wears off, you’re left with a game that’s more exhausting than exciting.
good as an action game, stupid as a resident evil
you know what, there´s a ton on content in this game and it´s nice to play online so... yeah get it on sale along with a friend
Resident Evil 6 is a thrilling game that balances action-packed sequences and horror elements. The graphics are impressive, with detailed environments and great character models. The story follows multiple characters and intertwining plotlines, which can sometimes feel chaotic. The gameplay is a mix of shooting and puzzle-solving, but leaned more towards action than the survival aspects of earlier games. The co-op mode adds to the experience, making tougher battles more manageable. However, the story lacks depth compared to earlier games, which is disappointing. Resident Evil 6 offers a fun time with a lot of action and intensity, but may not resonate with fans seeking a true horror experience. It's entertaining but doesn't quite capture the magic that made the series so beloved. If you enjoy action-adventure games and don't mind the shift in style, it could still be worth a play.
Honestly I'm shocked how unbelievably bad this is. I played this back in 2012 in high school and remember thinking "Eh, whatever, I got it on sale" and fast forward to 2025 and history repeats itself. Capcom has my $8.99 again, but this time I can confidently say that this is not only the worst Resident Evil (by a long shot) but one of the worst games I've ever played. This game is the definition of doing to too much and accomplishing nothing. To start, it makes B-level action movies from the 80's look like masterpieces of writing quality. It's completely devoid of what made Leon so cool in RE4. The one liners sound like they were copied from Reddit. Character design is atrocious, Ada looks like a wax doll (spoiler she turns into wax towards the end). They turned Chris into an alcoholic maniac, Leon into a edgelord, and Jake is just straight unlikeable. Gameplay is even worse...like the gameplay of the remakes of 2,3,4? Gone. They take the controller out of your hand about 40% of the time to point you in the direction to go, genius design. I must of dropped my brain before playing your game thanks for pointing me in the right direction I would have never guessed! You like the horror of RE7? Non existent. You like the open environments and metroidvania design of RE8? Gone. Any catchy tunes that capture the moment? Gone. Completely soulless garbage. They put the most effort into Mercenaries mode, but the level design is so bad and the controls are so bad it just doesnt work. Don't even pay 1 cent for this game, spend your money on RE7/RE8, RE2-4 remakes. If they ever think about remaking this game hopefully someone at Capcom completely scraps and starts fresh.
Underrated and over-hated. Absolutely by no means the best Resident Evil game, and though it greatly improves the game-play of RE5, there is almost a complete lack of "survival horror" which is of course disappointing for an entry in the franchise that coined the term. A distinct lack of any meaningful puzzles or sense of exploration also works against this game when it's being compared to other entries in the series.
With all that aside RE6 is a very enjoyable third-person action shooter with a ton of lore and 4 intertwining campaigns. The guns shoot well and the combat is pretty fun. Each campaign has a different play style so it's not too much of a drag to play all 4 so you get the complete story. I think RE6, like RE5,. was a victim of the time period it was released in. The survival horror was tossed aside to try to compete with the modern shooters and Gears of War type games that were selling big between 2007 and 2013. I really liked the story for this game but I'm eternally thankful that Capcom saw the light and returned to form with RE7 and RE8.
Although I've never played the console versions I did encounter some quirks that I have to assume are a result of being ported to PC. For example the sniper rifle is insanely shaky to the point of being almost unusable at longer distances. I always expect some sort of reticle-sway but this is so intense that I can't imagine this was the way it was intended to behave. Even the skills that reduce sway don't seem to have any effect on this. At the same time the controls for Ada's helicopter and Chris' jet are so sensitive that it's almost impossible to aim properly, especially compared with the pretty low sensitivity the game normally has with weapons. People playing with mouse and keyboard may have a different experience, I'm not sure.
The snowmobiles that can be found during Jake and Sherry's campaign also seem to be pulled towards the middle of the map as if they're on rubber bands, rendering what would have been a cool exploration feature completely useless (the snowmobiled in the down-hill section worked okay). Forgetting to turn the game to "offline" mode also caused some stuttering issues so make sure to turn it off at the beginning of each level if you're playing alone.
After finishing all the campaigns, I can confidently say that Resident Evil 6 is:
- death by sudden quick time event,
- death by sudden tank controls,
- death by forced camera changes,
- death by keyboard/mouse (QTEs & action prompts use the following: W, A, S, D, R, V, Space, left/right mouse click),
- death by hitting the Escape key that opens a menu and does not pause the game,
- and death by the right action prompt not even showing up.
If you have enjoyed RE 4 and 5, the Revelations series, or have been spoiled by the great gameplay mechanics of the Remakes (2, 3, 4), then don't bother with this headache.
ngl this game was absolute fire after getting used to the controls. The characters are much more complex now than ever and besides the insane feats that the cast goes through Capcom made it pretty clear that the world around it can't handle bio-weapons in this entry of Resident Evil more than any other entry including the new ones.
good coop action shoot em up game,
If RE5 is your cup of tea, this should do too.
still scary if you have no ammo left.
As of 11 January 2024:
Capcom is planning on re-introducing DRM (via Enigma Protector) to combat mods and cheat engines. Do not buy any Capcom games until they reverse their decision.
Resident Evil 6 is non-stop action from start to finish. It strays from the classic Resident Evil formula, leaning heavily into over-the-top combat, but it's still a fun experience—especially in co-op. Definitely more enjoyable with a friend.
great game! played this on my ps4 :) the stories are great and everything about this game is ahhh so good! loved the l4d2 characters added on that's mostly why I decided to get it on steam :)
Haven't got much to say. I played this one to bits on my PS3 back when it came out. People hated it for how much over the top it is, but that's exactly the reason why I love this game so much, it's like Michael Bay directed this game, it's just pure and exaggerated fun, specially for how serious the game takes itself.
This game will always have a fond place in my heart.
I recommend it on sale and if you have a friend to play it with, believe me, is a no brainer for a good time.
you had no right to do this. that ending... my duo cried for so long after that you had no right to do us like that.
its a peak game with an ending that will break you as much as its peak. good luck.
"i actually have 22.8 hours of playtime upon review but steam doesn't show it here as such" Not as bad as most people say i get it right its hardly a resident evil title compared to 1-4 but nowadays this is very similar to where resident evil is at "mostly" do i want to say this game was ahead of its time no maybe kinda but what i do want to say is that it certainly fits in way more now then it did then yes some of the QTEs are strangely done yes Ada's campaign is pretty bad yeah some of the stuff with ustanak is repetitive but other than that and some other very small complaints its a solid title definitely would recommend it "small tangent here" when it comes to games just play things for yourself if a game really is that bad "or apparently sooooo good" and you don't like it just do a refund "within under 2 hours of playtime" and that's it crisis averted that horrible game is gone out of your library your money has been returned so if you think the gamer's of 2013 were correct maybe try it anyways maybe hit refund later or don't it doesn't really matter
This game is so genuinely bad it looped around and became one of the best games I've ever played
Baffling that capcom reinvented survival horror with RE4, through that out in RE5, then ground up the refuse emitted from that game and made this one. Beyond the bootyhole gameplay, it's bug ridden, every story event is caused by a vehicle exploding, and the characterization is terrible.
This game is fun! i play with my friend and we always defeat people all the time and we are sooo good at game :) But there is one bug, the door with Sherry. Please fix! and I will rate 5 stars. But now its 4.5!
Just replayed all 4 campaigns for the first time since 2013 when I played it on PS3.
I must say this was a very ambitious game, a culmination of everything they had been working on over the years. 4 different narratives inter woven into one story, with multiplayer integration bringing it all together, in 2013!!! The graphics still hold up and it plays great on PC. Yes there are some wonky camera stuff at some parts but its not a deal breaker for me.
This game walked so the remakes could run!
If you asked me to list every single thing about this game I don't like for this review it would take quite some time and not near enough space in the steam review. Crapcom once again forgot completely where they came from and created this absolute abomination that deserves naught but criticism as again Crapcom lied about a return to its roots to sell copies. Survival horror? Not here. Not sure how they took RE 5's controls and somehow made them infinitely worse but if anyone could do it its Crapcom. The story and gameplay go completely over the top in the worst way with it being a moment to moment next crazy bullcrap event happening then into very small sections of 2nd grade puzzles, a few guys to kill, and then really awful bosses sometimes back to back to the point of where it all feels like a boss rush with no quality or oversight. The stories range from I helped infect the president of the United States with a virus to help save my sister even though she was clearly dead anyway to im a broody teenager in a mans body and have an awkward high school type romance and fixation with this agent who wants my blood. Chris's campaign is easily the worst out of them all with the most boring gameplay on top of him being weirdly attached to one person on his team who got killed and then getting way more people killed and not giving a crap whatsoever even to the point of celebrating something that didn't have any cause for it. Not even counting that Chris has an entire chapter that over half of it is literally door cutscene then another door and then another cutscene. I kid you not. Cutscenes galore permeate this dumpster fire calling itself a game so much that there is more of them than actual gameplay weather they be live or cinematic. Also to note the vast majority of my deaths were on the hardest difficulty during live cutscenes that freeze you in place but let the enemies run around still and they either kill you IN the cutscene or time there attacks to when you regain control killing you instantly. This happened so much that I had to coordinate with my co op partner in certain spots to keep the enemy away while pressing certain levers or buttons or you would never get past it. Enemies are supposed to be this mixture of zombies that somehow can snipe you from across map with both magnums and assault rifles and J'avo which are people "enhanced" with the virus but somehow there accuracy blows worse than zombies and there mutations are almost always a detriment. Not even mentioning the fact that these guys that are supposed B.O.W.S. are using machetes and machine guns still so why in the hell are they even monsters if it doesn't actually help them? Crapcom really sucks at the details and telling stories more often than not. One of the games biggest and baddest bosses is what happens when you get a discount writing team, discount art team, take leatherface, take a discount version of Jasons mask, make him not take damage from things that would clearly 1 shot him, and then try and play it off like he is somehow better than your original mascot. Ustanak is the discount Nemesis and his big gimmick is that he can swap out one of his hands for a grabby claw or a rivet gun once again proving base weapons are better than your monsters. Ada exists in the game I guess but acts like no Ada I have ever seen before. She is somehow the centerpiece for the whole game in this weird sexual/convoluted/odd story that really could have been said in 1 word. Obsession. No need for all the theatrics that ultimately went nowhere and didn't need to lead to 2 of the games main antagonists turning into a white goo that died not even 3 minutes later or the other turning into a T rex with eyeballs in it and outside it. There isn't anything good to be said about most of the retarded looking or ridiculously placed bosses either with one being a giant shark in a tunnel going through the earth filled with water, a reskinned version of the chainsaw man who for some reason cannot die, a giant snake that goes camo, a giant half human looking monster who is see through and will somehow in someway infect the whole planet, or some woman who grows 3 stabbing tentacles out of her back that are also a part of her hair that randomly loves to show off just how naked she is. Seriously who writes this shit? The multiplayer only has 1 decent mode that is kinda like Tetris meets Resident Evil but the rest just don't have any reason to exist and aren't any fun to play. Who goes into Resident Evil thinking " I want to get into a shootout like call of duty with other players"? Achievement hunting this only gets bad with the tedium of 2 of the multiplayer achievements being needlessly long for the sake of getting you to play longer. Not a Resident Evil game. Not a good game. Not worth a dime or your time.
This game is absolutely off the chain! Anybody who doesn't have this game is missing out on an experience of a lifetime!!!
there are theatrical movements in combat that kill u and the game is hindered with swapping weapons. not recomended. there is a driving sequence that lacks creativity again not a recomended game
I love the gameplay in this but the story is mostly slop, gameplay can be buggy at times with a finicky camera, and online has major desync issues. I would recommend just playing mercenaries after finishing the story once because replaying it doesn't have much value besides playing with a friend for fun or achievement hunting.
They put a lot of work into the game. The characters get dirty and grimy throughout the story, and they actively get tired. There's a lot of attention to detail in this one. But that doesn't fix it being a resident evil game. really fun/funny with friends. There's a lot of time to sink into each campaign. I do want to say though, Leon and chris's are my favorite. Jake's story is just silly as hell. Ada is... There... Mercenary mode in this game is REALLY good though. I really liked the arcadey feel in this one. Plus getting a max kill combo isn't that hard in this if you know how to chain kills long enough. The only reason why I'm reccomending this. Play it with your friend. It's a dumpster fire, and it's not even a bad dumpster fire. It's a different game with a resident evil slap on it. OH OH ALSO I ALMOST FORGOT THIS GAME USED TO HAVE A 4 PLAYER CO OP SECTION CALLED CROSS ROAD SECTIONS. They cut it out on the pc edition, but on the og xbox 360 version it was really fun doing those crossroad sections. Where you had chris, piers, jake, and sherry take down baddies as a group of 4, and yall be doin some stupid crap.
Weakest RE game but still hilariously over the top. Hate is super forced, it's decent.
I think I would've enjoyed this game more if the camera didn't keep trying to wrestle control away from me and swanton bomb me and break my ass in half. FUCK the last section in Chris and Piers. That shit was SO ASS. WE DIED LIKE 60 TIMES
Also shoutout to the foot massage parlor that's only open one hour per day in one of the buildings in Chris' parts
Fun to play and reasonably scary, nothing like 7, that was just crazy.
In short (NO SPOILERS):
Leon/Helena Campaign: The Resident Evil everyone knows... ZOMBIES! In dark alleys. YAY! 8/10
Chris/Piers Campaign: The soap opera of the game. Highly emotional and basically an escape from the monster game! Lmao. 8.5/10
Jake/Sherry Campaign: You can think of it as a Chris and Piers campaign without all the soap opera around. Arguably the weakest of all. 7/10.
Ada's Campaign: Wong, Ada, Wong. Get out the gadgets, the sensual super spy femme fatale is here! The ending is something else, incredible with so, much tangible emotion. Tremendous, really, tremendous 10/10.
In not so short (SPOILERS!):
This is the first time I've played the game. I remember when it came out, I went with my brothers-in-law to pick it up at the midnight launch at our local GameStop. I can't believe it's been 13 years already. It's funny that you can now play Ada's campaign from the beginning if you want. I remember before, you had to complete the other campaigns to be able to play it.
The last RE I played was RE2, when it came out... so I haven't played a RE in over 20 years, but I've seen my brothers-in-law play through 4, 6, etc. I feel comfortable talking about them; I'm not blind in knowledge.
While I understand why people hated the game SO MUCH, the truth is, it doesn't deserve the hate at all. I LOVED the game; it has by far the best "mercenaries" in the entire franchise, and that's a plus. I liked the campaigns.
Playing Ada's campaign and realizing she was EVERYWHERE from the beginning (literally, in the ventilation ducts above your head... no kidding, lmao!) was something that blew my mind for a while.
I think Ada's ending was the perfect way to close out Resident Evil, and it makes me a little sad to know we might never see her again in a game.
Of the four campaigns, in three, I found people to play with, who randomly joined my session, and that surprised me SO MUCH! I thought the game was dead.
I played 90% of the first three campaigns with people, and it was definitely enjoyable. Ada's, well, I didn't mind playing it alone. It was originally intended for single-player only, anyway.
Now it's time to play the rest. I'll go with the 4th Remake, which I haven't seen AT ALL, and I'm excited to have a new experience in an RE after so many years.
I don't plan on playing Village, or even 7, because honestly: I'm a sissy, and it scares me HORRIBLY, so I don't enjoy them. I don't get along well with real horror in games.
I think starting with the latest of that timeline and the black sheep of the franchise was the best thing I could have done. It was an excellent game, it brought back many wonderful memories and created new ones. I must admit I felt a bit nostalgic at times.
If you made it this far, I want to thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a great day and wish you much success in life.
Most IN DEPTH melee combat in a third person shooter game. I wish more games had more in-depth mechanics like RE6. Though to be fair these melee mechanics belong to some other game rather than a horror game.
jogo bom, obvio afinal é resident evil, mas é disparado o pior de todos.
Played RE7 and RE8 before this, and was excited looking into a multiplayer resident evil. Been playing through with my buddy and it's just bland. Nothing really sticks out, and you're just fighting the same boss over and over. Maybe my thoughts will change if we play further, but for now it's just kinda eh... Don't buy this if it's not on sale.
Enjoyable with friends for co-op
Good attempt of 3 types of genre mix in one game, Horror/Military/Hide and Chase
Good game if this game were named differently
Bad game if you into Resident Evil, specially if you that kind of OG RE fans

Super unrelated game. So many gamemodes and little details and the gameplay is polished to no end. Such a good dumb fun game
If you're a fan of the old, not remade, RE4 and/or the HD version, I'd recommend playing this game for the story and also the same mechanics.
In this game, you get to play each characters different povs and that's especially useful for viewing things from other characters' perspective. i.e. you get to play Leon, Chris, Sherry, and even Ada herself are in this series. Getting to be with these characters again by being playables are quite cool for casual gamers like me who uses a certain program/s to play this in fun mode.
Anyway, you can either pay for this in full or on sale price is up to you. Just note that you will be getting what you asked for--and that's a wild ride.
Too many QTEs and action scenes I sometimes forget I'm playing a Resident Evil game, but I'm a Resident Evil-tard so I'd still recommend the hell outta this. Heh.
Don't expect a masterpiece from this one. It's an alright game, but not that great for a RE game
this game is just the creator's poorly disguised fetish. i never want to see another slimy woman in my entire life, and my life has now been worsened by the existence of that cringe-worthy "go after her!" scene between helena and leon towards ada. girl you are about to fucking die why are you saying something that would be more befitting at the end of a romance movie when the female love interest is headed on a plane to a different country than a resident evil game.
Camera angles are not good and that's the only is issue
Recommended! well it has 4 campaign in a single game
I f-cking love it! Re wrote this review as it was much too harsh. Game isn't perfect by any means (due to the competition with MW2 '09 I bet). First picked this up when I finished college back in the day (did the same with RE2 , an hour late to the exam but worth it). Back then it was a complete madhouse of explosions & mayhem- 2025- still all that. Reminds me of Dead Aim & Survivor 2 though everything else is easy going. This game is more like an action movie what with the QTE's and many cutscenes, let alone the separate campaign options- The teammate mechanic is good, but for me- a guy who enjoys running through campaigns without assistance or setbacks, it becomes a terminal sickness. Everything else is top notch. Especially concerning the age of this game
CAPCOM was really cooking with the story here. I don't even know what is happening 80% of the time. It feels like each chapter was written by a group of neurodivergents on coke...
Compared to RE5, the movement is nicer, but the default controls were a bit odd to me.
Not my forte, but I think this game has appeal.
If it is not belong to resident evil series, I believe the rate will be higher.
I really do not understand, after Capcom brings out so many new characters, why never use them in the upcoming games? Jack and Sherry made a very good team.
Two things are especially disgusting while playing:
1. QTE: it doesn't improve the gaming experience, especially in the middle the CG.
2. Rasklapanje: When they design a maze like map and ask you to find 3 keys. Then it's nothing to do with chapter design, they want you to spend more time in the game, that's the only reason.
Other things like camera angle...everyone will notice that.
After RE5, this is more of the same. The horror is background noise, the game is a corridor shooter mostly designed for co-op. And I'd say, with the exception of aggravating cutscene QTEs (truly the worst part of the game), this one plays actually better than RE5. Sure, you don't have Wesker and the plot is even dumber this time around, but gunplay, AI partner and bosses are generally vastly improved.
At this point everyone knows that this is the final chapter of the action trilogy, you have no reason to expect a survival horror if you decide to grab it. Do I prefer the survival horror games? No doubt. I'm so happy RE7 changed things around and paved the way for the awesome remakes. But as long as you know what you are getting yourself in, it's really not the terrible game that the press has always described.
A solid 8/10
The hate revolving around this game is so forced and it makes me upset to see. Other than some janky keybindings and some very iffy camera angles sometimes this game is one of my favorites in the franchise. As far as camera angles are, you could say the same about the RE1 game. I appreciate them actually taking a different view of gameplay rather than being stuck double backing inside of a building the whole time like previous games doing tasks. If you aren't a fan of quick pacing and action then it might not be for you but to claim just because of that it is "Resident Evil's worst game" is plain ignorant.
Out of the 4 Story Co-op missions I would only actually say Ada's was both the shortest and the least entertaining in terms of gameplay. It is worse if you're player two in the situation due to you not being able to actually interact with a single thing making it feel way less team based and more just a walking meat shield. Ada's mission aside, I feel all the other 3 storylines were different from eachother [excluding when they meet up of course.] Each unique scenery and layout, sometimes it even felt like a different Resident Evil game to me. Mostly when in contrast from Chris and Leon being in completely different areas. There are plenty of cool new movement styles unlike in any other RE games and hilarious to use inside of Co-op with friends and just in general.
Ultimately in summary, yes it has flaws but that can be said for just about any old or new Resident Evil games. Don't believe everything you hear from reviewers and regulars who've never picked up this game claiming it isn't worth your time. This game is one of my favorites if not in my top 3 of them in the franchise. Just because the new movement and overall layout isn't your thing doesn't mean it is some sloppy mess. I would 100% recommend this game to anyone who is genuinely interested in both the lore of Resident Evil and trying out different scenes within the franchise.
This game didn't deserve the hate it got. It's true its a bad 'Resident Evil' game but there are other RE games that are probably worse than this. I'd take RE6 over Umbrella Corp any day.
The only bad thing I would say about this game is the unskippable tutorial when you boot it up for the first time. Outside of that, RE6 is packed with content: 4 campaigns, 2 Mercenaries (Normal/No Mercy), a mode where you invade other people's games as creatures and 4 Versus modes.
The best thing about RE6 is the movement, the flexibility you have is amazing compared to previous RE games and the mechanics make it feel like a character action game. The Mercenaries is where RE6 truly shines imo.
Overall, bad Resident Evil game, an amazing action shooter game. I would recommend getting it on sale and play with friends.
Despite the consensus amongst hardcore RE nerds, this is a great fucking game. A good Resident Evil game? Debatable, but a good game? Absolutely. The combat is some of the most fun I've had and playing co-op is a blast, the community really sleeps on this and 5.
