I had a good time playing this! While the controls were janky and needs to be fixed, the game was so fun to play!
This was one of my least favorite Resident Evil games, but if you are invested in the story then it might be worth the playthrough.
this s s grest game love hs game this game s very buggy but i still lge ths game very fun to play cop but fun alone als
It may not be the iconic survival horror experience you are looking for, but it's a spectacle to play with a friend. I wanted to really challenge myself, so I played Resident Evil 6 on the hardest difficulty possible: No Hope. This difficulty will really make you fight for your life, but I think it adds some sort of accomplishment and achievement when you complete all four campaigns on that difficulty.
PROS:
- Bosses (The Ustanak and Simmons)
- Playing on hard difficulty can give you a sort of survival horror gameplay
- Skills (although these are disabled on No Hope)
- Co-Op
- Wonderfully voice acted
CONS
- You will be mainly getting skill points in drops
- Physics are too realistic in this game.
- There are no in game costumes
- Some sections are rage quitting at times
FINAL VERDICT: Whilst Resident Evil 6 is a flawed experience, I overall had fun. My favorite campaign has to be Leon's, followed by Jake. Chris comes in third place since some of the Javo enemies can be outright infuriating to deal with. Ada comes in last place and this is where my main concern comes in. Ada's campaign does not work in Co-Op. From what I understand, it was originally supposed to be a singleplayer experience, with co-op being added later. This messes some of the balance up in the campaign, there was one boss that was more or less annoying to deal with since it was obviously designed for one player (i.e. the chainsaw guy on the bus).
8/10, Play this game if you want to have a good time with your friend, but maybe avoid this game if you're looking for a survival horror experience.
I honestly don't know where to begin with this review.. aside the messy gameplay, and the messy story structure.
The only thing I can say is that RE6 is a beautiful messy train wreck. And just like with RE5. RE6 must not be played alone
The only reason why I recommend it is solely base on how fun you can have at making fun of the story, character dynamic and just the absurdity of it all
Similar to my views on RE5, this is a fun game with boatloads of content, and each character's scenario does play out differently, giving a different gameplay feeling. It still isn't a horror game, and too far removed from the series roots.
Resident Evil 6 is an action-packed game that deviates from traditional horror features, attracting fans of action-adventure games, co-op gaming, and prolonged gameplay. It has explosive moments, large battles, and a diverse cast of characters, making it one of the series' longest and most content-rich editions.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Resident Evil 6 is an absolute tour de force, and my experience with it was nothing short of incredible! From the moment I started, I knew this game was going to be special. 💥
💥 Diverse Campaigns: The game offers four campaigns, each with its own unique twist. I had the chance to play as Leon, Chris, Jake, and Ada, and each character brought something fresh to the table. Leon's campaign was a classic horror thriller that kept me on edge the entire time. Chris' campaign was more intense and action-packed, with huge battles that had me glued to the screen. Jake's story was a perfect mix of high-energy combat and emotional depth, while Ada’s campaign gave me a real sense of mystery and intrigue. Each one kept me hooked, and it felt like I was playing a completely new game with every change of character. 🎮🔥
💀 Action-Packed Combat: Honestly, the combat in RE6 was a game-changer. The moment I jumped into the action, I was amazed at how fluid and satisfying the controls were. Switching between intense gunfights and brutal hand-to-hand combat felt seamless. Whether I was executing a brutal melee move to take down a B.O.W. or unloading a clip into a horde of zombies, everything felt smooth and impactful. The variety of weapons, from shotguns to grenade launchers, kept me excited to try out new strategies, and the QTEs (Quick Time Events) had me on the edge of my seat, especially during boss fights! 🤜🤛
👾 Stunning Graphics & Environments: One of my most memorable experiences with RE6 was just exploring its world. The graphics were so detailed, I found myself stopping just to admire the environment! From the gritty, dark streets of Tall Oaks to the lush forests in China, every location felt real and immersive. The lighting, textures, and level design kept me hooked and made each area feel unique. Some sequences, like escaping a collapsing building or fighting off waves of enemies in tight corridors, were pure cinematic magic. 🌆🌲
💬 Great Multiplayer: The multiplayer aspect of RE6 is a highlight, and my time with it was a blast! I spent hours playing co-op with a friend, and it was so much fun. The mechanics were easy to get into, and we could strategize and tackle enemies together. Whether we were navigating the tense, tight spaces or fighting off massive boss monsters, the teamwork aspect made it all the more rewarding. The ability to play both locally and online also meant that I could dive into some epic sessions with friends no matter where they were. 👫
🎶 Epic Soundtrack & Sound Design: The sound design in RE6 blew me away. The soundtrack was perfectly timed, with tense music building up during fights, giving me an adrenaline rush before a big battle. The sound effects—whether it was the groans of zombies or the thundering footsteps of massive enemies—were so immersive, I found myself truly on edge. During some of the more suspenseful moments, the ambient sounds created such an atmosphere that I was genuinely nervous to move forward. 🧟♂️🔊
👑 Endless Replayability: What really stood out to me was how much I wanted to replay the game. After finishing each campaign, I couldn’t wait to jump into a higher difficulty or explore the hidden secrets scattered around the maps. Unlocking new costumes, weapons, and even bonus modes like Mercenaries kept me coming back for more. I also loved unlocking extra content that made me see the story in a new light—RE6 doesn’t just end after you finish the main campaign; there’s so much to uncover. 🔄
In conclusion, Resident Evil 6 exceeded all my expectations and delivered an experience that was both thrilling and unforgettable. Whether you’re a longtime RE fan or new to the series, this game has something for everyone. I’m so glad I gave it a chance, and I’m certain that it’ll remain a favorite of mine for years to come. 🏆🎉
🔥 Resident Evil 6 deserves a full six stars for being the ultimate blend of action, horror, and adventure! 🔥
This game series has always interested me and I have played a few of its games with pleasure. I downloaded this game with enthusiasm and started playing it, but then I noticed that there was a saving problem in the game. I played for a long time, then I quit and when I entered again, unfortunately I saw that the game had started from the beginning. I tried to solve the problem a little, but unfortunately it did not help. You have to enter and finish it in one go. I hope this problem is fixed.
Replayed it after playing on release and this part still holds. Despite gameplay-wise, it has some control issues and a dire lack of bullets in some moments unless you grind and upgrade certain perks. Even though I prefer weapon upgrading over perks upgrading, the game is still breathtaking—great campaign, great cutscenes, and action-packed to the brim. I really wish the RE7 would have Jake as a protagonist instead of Ethan, but we have very boring protagonists in the following entries. Really wish they would return Sherry Birkin and Jake in the future.
This game is different from rest of the RE games, Totally 4 main campaigns and entirely action oriented. The Story wasn't very interesting after I Finished Leon's and Chris's campaign. Jake's campaign was very boring. Overall, This is not the worst RE game and not the best. But Surely worth a play.
I kept getting harassed by a discord mod that got turned into a zombie.
10/10 game tho
Very good game, a lot of action and it's fun to play with a friend :)
Used to play this when I was still in high school. Still a great game no matter what other people said. Not scary but I love all the actions. It's been a long time since I played a game with lots of QTE. Well the controls are a bit tight and janky but I get used to it pretty easily. Ada Wong here is so beautiful compared to the other series. And I just realized how heartbreaking Chris's campaign is as I grow older :)
Resident Evil is no stranger to cheese or camp, but this crosses that fine line into cringe.
Fans of the series have been divided into 2 groups: there are those who hate Resident Evil 6 and then there are those who are coping liars. I have a pretty tolerable palette when it comes to playing janky or even bad video games, but this is pushing my limits. It has the script and amount of explosions of an Expendables film, a motion-sickness inducing camera, and a control scheme and UI system that has been designed by Jigsaw. It's a Bollywood production which is Resident Evil in name only. The fact that this game was able to be designed, tested, and released is a modern mystery of the world.
I am determined to finish this. Maybe not this year, or the next, but at some point in my life I will finish this game just so I can have full authority to not recommend playing it. Until then, consider this a warning.
After surviving to a fall to the center of the earth, falling on a prehistoric slide while shooting to a zombie shark, they then crash a airplane in the middle of a city, exploding buildings and cars in the process, then engage in a fight against a big zombie dog in a moving train while jumping to another to end up in a big derail of the train with explosions and flames while our main characters jump to the water to save themselves
''Things are going to get worse'' - Leon
Absolute Cinema
Best Resident Evil in my opinion. I actually have hundreds more hours played on PlayStation. People generally hate this game because it's not a good "Survival Horror game" and thus not a good traditional Resident Evil game. However, as far as online co-op action games go, this is the absolute best one out there in my opinion. 10/10.
Finally got time to finish this one with my mate in Co-op and as long term Resident Evil fans I can easily say that this is the worst of the franchise, I don't think there is any other game that is as bad as this one.
Why do I still recommend it? Well it has its moments but other than that this game is the weakest when it comes to the horror survival aspect and overall as well.
Leon's campaign has some great horror survival moments but later turns into a call of duty on the rails shooter and probably the only one that is the most enjoyable.
Chris' campaign is full call of duty and probably the most boring one.
Jake and Sherry's is okay, better than Chris? Maybe but it's mostly ALL filler, the entire story could be summarized in 30 minutes but it's 5 chapters for some reason.
Ada's campaign feels super forced and by the time you reach it, you just want to get done with it.
I think the only reason I played it was for the co-op as I never experience it before but if you have played this game back in 2012 when it came out I doubt anyone would feel like playing it again as there are SO MANY BETTER resident evil experiences out there.
This game shifted the tone of the entire franchise, if it were like 5 it would have been great but its just trying too hard to be call of duty, worse gun mechanics and feedback, the menu controls are atrocious and I always forgot how to navigate them.
I will probably never play this one again out of all the RE games, it's tiring and does way too much hand holding, the enemies feel like bullet sponges and the guns feel so weak.
Back in the day all hope was lost for the franchise with this game and RE made a return with RE7 otherwise it would have just ended as a franchise.
Of all the games that need a remakes, this one needs it the MOST.
I really hope Resident Evil 9, rumored to have multiple cameos, does not go in this direction at all.
not bad the story yeaa 80% action but i like it you know capcom must build some game focus on action like resident evil bssa corps the story of bsaa field duty but with other caracther then criss
This game is terrible, I love it. Only fun if you play with a friend
childhood memories on this & i never played the pc version i only played the ps3 version & its fun so far
So much nostalgia
Amazing game, resident evil 6 is my favorite one out of the other ones, the gameplay is insanely fun and cool, the story line is nice too, would recommend.
I have mostly negative things to say about Resident Evil 6. After running through it I feel exhausted and insulted. Playing it in co-op is sort of its saving grace. But man is it ever a game of few highs and an overwhelming amount of lows.
What I’m missing is a solid gameplay foundation with some predictability and fun gameplay. In Resident Evil 6, there’s always a gimmick or complication added to the formula. Everything is always some half-cooked set piece you have to be guided through. Like the developers had so little faith in my attention span they just had to challenge it every time there was even a minor chance of a lull in the action.
So you’re never left to your own devices. Every corner you turn is just a new opportunity for them to take control away from you in service of telling their story instead of letting me feel like I’m a part of mine.
Weapon play is mostly about swapping weapons and reloading. Customizing abilities is introduced between chapters, but barely makes a cameo before completely receding into the background. And while the co-op play is a nice feature (as always), it culminates into this laughable last chapter with a partner character that is so tethered to the lead he basically has no agency himself.
I love Resident Evil and most of its permutations. But this thing, Resident Evil 6, is just awful.
Highly not recommended.
The best resident evil in my opinion. Why?...
Although it is the least survival horror of the series (outside of O.R.C, U.C., Resistance, and Re: Verse) and leans more into action/adventure, it has THE BEST GAMEPLAY in my opinion, with the Revelations series coming in close second. Characters that actually RUN! Can you believe it!!?? No more stupid ass half sprinting. I mean... would you only use a light jog in a bio-terror situation or zombie apocalypse? I dont think so~!!!! You'd be running your ass off. Being as tactical, fast, and agile as possible. Sneaky and stealthy when needed but when shit hits the fan its go time!!!! I mean.... movement so bad in the 2 and 3 remakes you have to spam dodge and hobble around like an idiot in order to speedrun! None of that here!
This game was pre-adaptive damage as well, meaning if youre actually a good shot it doesnt take six or eight headshots to down a zombie and you arent penalized for accuracy and skill. It has great dodge mechanics as well! AND A RUNNING SLIDE! Which is not only useful for evasion but also to stun enemies. You really feel like you have control of your character and not just limited for the sake of artificial difficulty.
On top of all of that, the skill system is pretty neat and adds a reason to replay the game more than once, collecting points to unlock skills such as the weapon master skills that increase your damage, and shooting wild which removes your laser / reticle / cursor but gives you a massive damage boost, rewarding you greatly for accurate shots. There are other great skills as well like pickup frequency enhancements, infinite ammo if youre into that, piercing (bullet penetration), crit damage, enemy type damage, etc.
And if all of that wasnt enough, the game includes what is essentially 7.5 campaigns. There are 4 actual campaigns, and you can play through each as two different characters which both have their own unique experiences / roles during gameplay. Ada's campaign has Hunk as the second character which has somewhat a limited experience hence the 7.5 campaigns instead of 8.
Yes, there are a few mechanics that some players feel are annoying or frustrating like a couple of instances that rely on button timing, a couple of wonky vehicle sections, and some instances where you dont have equipment and may have to hide, solve a puzzle, or use stealth/melee.
ANNNNND!!! The game has multiplayer co-op that you can join in at any time (or be joined), you can turn on/off the ability for players to join in as enemy monsters when you start a campaign (or play that mode yourself, joining in and trying to kill players). You can play with players all over the world, or set it to regional, and it shows their connectivity strength.
ANNNNNDDD!! The game has mercenaries.
The RE Games frequently go on sale from 30% to 75% off. If youre a fan of the series and like games with good character control mechanics, dont mind that its not super spooky and leans into action, want a ton of content for a very reasonable price, then grab this game. ESPECIALLY if its on sale.
Too much going on, and the interweaving of the stories made it a convoluted interactive movie to watch with quick time events. I don't even know if I even beat the game. Play at your own risk, and sit back and let the movie play perhaps at your own discretion as well. I don't even know if this game was properly finished, or was it even rushed.
Doing same run over again get bored especially if you couldnt skip some cutscene dialog and QTE. Public games are filled with cheat/hacker that can manipulate your item or decide to troll you and kill you nowadays. if you playing co-op play only with friend instead of public.
This was a great game. I enjoyed it a lot better than RE5, especially the return of classic zombies. Each campaign was fun and unique. I wish more graphics options were available. Ada Wong does not look the same as in RE2. That was a little jarring.
I am not usually a fan of horror games but the resident evil series has got me in a choke hold, especially due to the multiplayer . The addition of multiple campaigns allows you to see the same story from different perspectives and allows more gameplay from the same story. Al
Don't let other people guide your judgement. This game regardless of the story mode (Which is actually pretty fun) I consider this game a B+ for just Funssies and gameplay overall.

No. terrible controls, confusing story. Need I say more?. Skip to Re7 if you wanna know the story find a YouTube video it's a waste of money honestly.
The game is awful. I really don't want to know what they were thinking when they made this game. The camera angles are awful, there is a constant quick time event, I feel like I'm playing a bad copy of Warhammer instead of a survival horror game. If you really want to play Resident Evil or are looking for a co-op game to play with a friend, play it, but don't even think about playing it other than that. I'd rather go play The Division for 900 hours.
Resident Evil 6 sees the zombie apocalypse take a truly global stage, as outbreaks happen internationally from the United States to Eastern Europe to China and beyond. Following four separate campaigns exploring the latest virus's origin and destruction, you the player will follow what is *supposedly* the most intense and dangerous bio-organic weapon outbreak to date.
RE6's campaigns follow main characters Leon, Chris, new character Jake, and Ada, along with side AI/co-op characters Helena, Piers, and Sherry. Each campaign covers five missions which can take anywhere from 30-120 minutes depending on the story. RE6 takes the action-focused gameplay introduced in RE4 and amplified in RE5 and turns that dial up even further. RE6 has absolutely zero brakes with the action, for better or for worse, constantly sending you into high-octane scenarios of explosion-filled, slow-motion QTE martial arts nonsense. While at first the action feels fun to experience, like watching a late-night movie with a bowl of popcorn in hand and not a care in the world, but when it doesn't really stop whatsoever to take a break for significant plot or dialogue or emotion or other such, it can get overwhelming quickly, or worse simply boring. And for better or for worse yet again, there is so, damn, much, videogame, to, play, in RE6. You really can't get away with just playing say Leon's campaign and then nothing else, as the story doesn't truly wrap together and make sense until completing all four campaigns, meaning you're going to spend 20 hours *if you RUSH* in RE6, and by the end of it if you're not memeing your way through it with a friend you're going to be downright exhausted. At the very least, the weapons feel satisfying to use, and using the melee smartly in combination with your weapons can feel rewarding when done correctly, saving you ammo and letting you see Leon suplex a zombie which always ends up being funny. The health system in this game is absurd though, where instead of consuming herbs and sprays raw you have to assemble these pills which only heal small portions of your health bar at a time. And while I'm on the topic, the inventory system/UI is a NIGHTMARE to navigate, with the most ridiculous layout to switch weapons, craft items, and equip consumables.
With a story that lacks cohesion, absurd dialogue, action-packed gameplay that loses its charm after just three hours, RE6 is rarely a joy to play, and more often a chore that I would have a hard time recommending to even the most dedicated Resident Evil fan. RE6 is unfortunately a product of its release era, where turning intense horror-focused series into explosive action was the norm; at the time it wasn't a great idea, and even nowadays I can't say it's really worth your money.
So far the worst resident evil series:
Con:
1) The camera angle is too limited when come to action.
2) The movement is weird and the laser aim is running too random hard to shoot enemy
3) The skill upgrade part is bad where only can choose 3 of the many choice
4) The graphic feel like downgrade
Pro
1) There are different story you can play with, causing you can longer gameplay. Compare to re3 remake, re3 remake have better everything just the story too short.
But overall don't feel like will play back re6 unless it got remake or something better than this
game bad, not fun, campain 3 best, others dookie butt. dont do it
The final campaign feels like it completely gave up on the coop mechanic. Incredible how massive the quality drop is. Got to make fun of coop partner teleporting and t-posing to keep up with the grappling hook though.
this game was very cool for like the first 15 or so hours and then it just never fucking ended. gameplay loop gets old very fast.
It's not the best resident evil, in fact i dont know whats going on half the time, the story is all over the place, the characters seem a bit weird even for resident evil, the view is weird, but in a way it has its own unique charm, especially good played online, it takes a bit to adjust but, its not terrible, its got charm to it, its unique in its own way.
I have some gameplay issues with this game, but I still sort of love it in it's own way.
Not a scary game at all but fun nonetheless. I have fun upgrading my characters to become a zombie kicking machine.
Good game, leon’s pants could’ve been tighter but we all have our flaws.
ada's best design btw and her best voice too im sorry this ate
Resident Evil 6
aka "Experimenting with gameplay diversity,
differentiating from how one was or for how one might want to be"
The game was made to be an online action/adventure co op (not a survival/horror game).
Unfortunately online is dead (400 current in-game on steam)...so it must be judged as a single player game.
Pros
-Semi-Interesting Story (Promising Script)
-Best controls of any "original" Resident Evil
-Big Story Length (Four strorylines)
Cons
-Quick time events (So many @ Leons Scenario. Jake and Ada got some. Chris almost none)
-Frustrating HUD, UI and Menu (Every character has different HUD and UI style)
-Dash and cover system feels horrible
-Jakes cheesy hand to hand combat...against everyone and everything
-The action is constantly being interrupted by so many cutscenes (Especially Leons and Chris Scenario)
Scenarios from best to worst (Gameplay)
Chris > Jake > Leon > Ada
Scenarios from best to worst (Story)
Leon > Chris > Ada > Jake
After playing RE 4 and RE 5 I found this game more confussing and unrealistically difficult. I could not get my head around the story at all. I can't recommend this to anyone.
Well is very hard to say, but this isn't a bad game at all. There are a few things that I didn't like but most of the game is good for the current price that it was (from a sale) it's worth buying it.
Yes. of course is so far from other RE Games, but it has it's touch with most of memorable characters in one game. Also Chris and Jake Campaings are awesome :)
Fluency of the game is playable for nowadays PC's (I'm playing on a 10 years ago potato PC). You won't suffer at all because it's very well optimized.
Over hated game tbh, literally 5 but almost everything's better and they actually at least tried to make it a horror game this time. Worth it when you can get it on sale for 5 bucks.
Two words: "disappointing" and "annoying"
It looks like Call of Duty but not the Resident Evil. Action for action and again more action. Huge number of QTE and lack of commen sence in everything.
I even can imagine ususal game design meeting during game creation:
- Let's remove puzzles and mistery but add more QTE and action.
- Developers cannot design good battles so let's every time lock player in a small room with enemies
- we have lack of budget so let's use same bosses accros all game
- users feel so comfortable so let's waste camera and add more runs when camera has completely unnatural position
- let's make inventory less than it is needed so user will need to lost something in any way
So as result thi is really close to pile of shit.
I am going to complete only because I like to have things completed.
If you like Call of Duty, I think you will like this "game", but if you like Resident Evil, it would be better to play in something else.
can't believe this game was released but the leon and ada crumbs made up for my 22 hours of suffering
Altough you'll see many people hating on this game, and ignoring it's existence, I've really enjoyed it. I feel like any RE fan will enjoy this experience. This game is a bit more action packed than the previous ones, just like RE5 is, but RE6 did everything far better.
In this game you'll have 4 different campaigns, with 3 of them being coop campaigns. You can either play with your friend or an AI companion and this time you don't have to worry about your AI companion dying or anything like that, so that's a huge improvement from RE5.
3 coop campaigns are: Leon & Helen, Chris & Piers, Sherry & Jake.
While in the last campaign you play as Ada Wong, she's got no partner there, so no coop there.
Each campaign has 5 chapters, and each chapter is about an hour or an hour and a half long.
Everything that you've hated about RE5 has been drastically improved in RE6.
Note each campaign will tell you parts of the same story + some original parts that you've had no idea about in your other campaigns. So let's say out of 5 chapters 1-2 will make you replay the same mission that you've already played in your previous campaign, but the other 3 chapters will be completely new missions that you haven't played trough yet.
Should you play trough every characters campaign then?
You don't have to. You'll understand the story just right even if you play trough 1 coop campaign with your friend or an AI companion. Trust me tho, you're probably missing out on a lot if you don't play trough the rest of coop campaigns, there are so many cool missions and locations in each campaign that you'd miss out on if you don't play trough them.
But I feel like you should also play trough Ada Wong's solo campaign aswell, because it's probably the most important one, and you'll learn so much there story-wise. + her campaign was really good, maybe even the best one in RE6.
I'd even say that this game was probably supposed to be all about Ada, but since they've decided to make a coop game that wouldn't work, since she's not really a team player you know...
Graphics are decent, of course, new games have far better graphics, but for a game that came out in 2012, they're pretty good. So yeah graphics shouldn't be a problem at all.
Controls are good, you can move and shoot, unlike in RE5.
Also there are 2 gamemodes that you can play:
Agent Hunt -
you can join random players campaign and play as the monster, your aim is to kill him, you can respawn as many times as you want. Personally I didn't like this mode I feel like controls for monsters are not very responsive.
Mercenarys -
play as any of your favorite characters from RE6, each character has a different loadout, kill as many monsters as you can in a short amount of time, and survive for as long as you can. I've really enjoyed this gamemode, and many people are saying that this game's got the best Mercenarys mode out there, so if that's your thing, this game's got a lot of reasons for you to try it.
I'd recommend this game, I had no negatives playing it.
i finished all of the campaigns with a friend and i enjoyed this game a lot! i came for the big three (chris, leon, and ada) but i ended up staying for the other characters too (jake, sherry, helena, piers). as a beginner survival horror player, i got a lot more comfortable with controls and aiming by playing re6. it's not super scary (and the plot is a bit wonky) but the combat and characters were good which is what mattered. i played some mercenaries and agent hunt too. mercenaries is pretty standard, but agent hunt was kind of torturous because the mobs move super slowly.
take this review with a grain of salt because my first re game was re5, so famously i have played what people consider to be the two worst games in the re franchise. but i had a good experience and i am planning to play through the campaigns again at higher difficulties
