This game is awesome and the Split-Screen is great except for the 'little boxes', that being said it's how they do it and I honestly don't mind it, have played through the game a few times now on the couch with my wife and it was a blast every single time.
Yes, this game was fun, but short as I only played as Leon. It is missing the whole search for clues and discover the truth aspect of the other games. It is very much a run and shoot affair. You also do not move locations very much, meaning the leveling does not feel the same with other games. Leon had 5 chapters, but they only took place in 2 locations. The graphics and monsters look great, but fighting the same villain the whole time in multiple different forms did not feel exciting or inventive. The game does not help as much as I would like in terms of I had no idea how to fight the final form of the monster and wasted a lot of time doing nothing but shooting nowhere trying to solve how to beat the final form monster. I do not feel any need to play as the other characters. Once the credits roll, I am done.
kino cinematics, fun af movement, great with a friend
This game was ok, though the pc version seems a little bit more buggy and has de-sync compared to console. So, sale, sale, sale. This game has free melee, dodging, and shooting with movement, which was new at the time. Will say this game has a lot of BS deaths, like you can get stun locked, a second late in a run event, ect. and just die.
Leon's has a bug that will make you rage in chapter one btw. good luck with that. I had to body block an NPC. Some people say you have to wait.
My friend ruined this game for me, The 6 looks like a giraffe with clown shoes getting head, and now it is ruined for you too.
my game always crash in Ada Wong story mode, my screen display "FATAL ERROR".... Can someone help me solve this please...?
Fuck this game.
Ignore the fact that this is a Resident Evil game. That doesn't matter. There are so many, many, MANY reasons why this game should have been shelved, and it DOES NOT matter that it's a Resident Evil game. Don't get me wrong - the fact that it's a Resident Evil game only hurts more, and the fact that Capcom shat all over one of its biggest franchises like this feels like a personal attack - but on a fundamental level, this is one of the most overblown, overfunded, empty, hollow, and shallow pieces of media I have ever consumed.
A story that waves most of itself away. Characters that act different between cutscenes. Utterly random and bizarre bouts of horniness. A 20+ hour campaign that's scared of giving the player too much control. A nauseating camera. Unresponsive controls. Bad pacing. Bad bosses. Bad level design. Bad gameplay. Bad. BaD. bAD. BAD. BAD. BAD. BAD.BAD.BADBADBADBADBADBADBADB
It's pretty for a decade-old game. It's still a ball of shit, but at least it's a well-lit piece of shit.
Fuck this game.
Mercenaries mode is the only redeeming thing about this game, it's super fun to just sit back and blast hordes as Leon Kennedy.
Also the dodging is super fun and looks badass when you perfectly dodge an attack.
Don't ask me about the Campaign stories though, I fell asleep through most of them due to the really bad writing.
The 4 campaigns are fun if you like shooting and doing martial arts against zombies and other variants of your neighbours, but the best part of this game is undeniably the agent hunt mode since you get to be a zombie or abomination to attempt to kill player agents and stall their progress in the campaigns. This mode is unbalanced in the agent players favour since games where you may play as a creature tend to be sexually attracted to the human side since apparently zombies aren't sexy.
The Javo creature is the best creature to play as since you can block and attack which is the fastest attack you have out of all creatures so you can stunlock some clowns to death if their partner doesn't interupt your fun. The ai of an agent is very accurate and can carry a noob through the game with their unlimited ammo and infinite health.
The fact you cannot play as minibosses or bosses is a missed opportunity since that would give you a reasonable chance to kill a player agent, but since that would be fun, that is not allowed.
The other game modes are fun too, but they are inactive so they are unplayable, besides the two mercanaries modes.
If Capcom made a good Resident Evil game with multiplayer, that game would be better than any other multiplayer Resident Evil game, but they often don't make games at there full potential of fun.
I recommend adding co op or pvp to the old Resident Evil games as that would spice things up.
Even though it's the most polarizing game in the resident evil series it's still a fun game with or without friends. 7/10
Leon and Chris campaigns are okay.
Jake and Ada's campaigns are absolutely packed with instant death QTE bullshit and 'mini-games', to the point where this was the only mainline RE game I never bothered finishing the campaign.
Co-op mercs is fun, though not as good as RE5.
Overall this is easily one of the worst RE games and there's a very good reason why they started over in RE7.
As much as i love the re franchise this game just still doesn't leave the mark for a good resident evil. Not saying it's terrible but felt like it was doing too much with not enough time to execute all the storiesI've played and bought this game 3 different times this is my 4th purchase so i can have it on steam .This was the only main line reident evil game that i'ddjust avoid if you'e new to resident evil. Update Just finished it if you were to play this game i'd reccomend Jake first Chris Second Leon third and finally Ada.
ive had dental surgeries that were more enjoyable than this!
If you found a sandwich on the street covered in monkey blood, that'd be a better find than this game.
This feels like Resident evil 5 diluted itself in water to the point of losing all flavor. And I thought Re5 itself felt like a diluted RE4. So now we're at the bottom of the barrel, folks.
It doesn't work as an action game for me, or a survival horror, or as anything i would ever call Resident Evil.
It's like RE5 made drunken love to itself to produce this grotesque sequel. And then Re5 let that child rot, then raised it from the grave, and now its a walking corpse named Resident evil 6.
Being publicly shamed and getting beaten down on the streets of brooklyn would be preferable to me rather than playing through this entire game.
The game is good, though the story is a bit hard to follow. It's very action-oriented, but there were parts that made me a bit scared to continue walking forward. Additionally, you’ll need to look into guides, as some controls aren’t properly introduced during the game. Despite the negative reviews, I enjoyed it. The price may not be worth it, so I recommend buying it on sale.
possibly the worst RE game i've ever played. the story is dumb, the gameplay is not fun, more like a coop multiplayer forced shooter\looter
While I do not really enjoy these action-heavy Resident Evil games too much (they are hardly Resident Evil games in my opinion), I was surprised with the fun this game delivers (specifically in co-op play with a friend), as well as with how much playtime it offers - I spent around 20 hours to complete all 4 campaigns. Now the story is pretty poor and the gameplay can be janky, but I will always remember the section with the snow scooters getting away from the avalanche as we failed this like 20 times until my game crashed, simply because of all the laughter this caused.
Interestingly enough, it seems I enjoyed the campaigns opposite to what the online consensus would be: Sherry and Jake gets the number one spot, then Chris and Pierce, and Leon and Helena's + Ada's campaigns at the bottom. Putting Sherry's campaign at the top because of Jake's humor and the funny moments (refer to earlier comment about snow scooters) and Chris' campaign felt like the end of Village in some ways but I liked feeling overpowered from the start for a change. Leon's story was quite a letdown for me, but bonus points for the voice actor combination there! I wonder why Ada had to come across so cocky with her one liners all the time...
I would only recommend this game if you want to play through all Resident Evil games. Otherwise, there are way better games in this franchise to try out first.
It took me years to finish this game, like 8-10 years. Why? Because it is terrible. One of the worst games I have ever played but I wanted to finish it and finally play part 7 and 8. The story is really bad, like over the top comedy action bad, except it is all serious. The controls are some of the worst I have ever encountered on both keyboard/mouse and controller. The inventory system is unintuitive and just exist to frustrate. Finally the gameplay is junky and silly situations with the camera happen in an attempt to enhance whatever situation you're in because without the silly camera tricks the awful gameplay would be transparent.
The worst resident evil by far and after playing it I understand why the series took a drastic turn in gameplay philosophy afterwards.
No. Had this game since forever, but there's no sound. You can't even exit it by normal means. Have to use Windows Task Manager. The modding community isn't interested in this game either. there're 4 story lines that are all very short, and the controls feel very sticky and unresponsive.
The partner AI is exceptionally bad, nonexistent and completely useless where it was awesome and entertaining in RE5. RE6 for me is the worst of the series.
Great and really enjoyable as an action game. Not an resident evil title tho, it just isn't the same. I can't really see myself playing this solo. But the combat is really fun and smooth.
The game is crashing while im try to play leon chapter 4-1. The first chapter like 1 to 3 is completly fine. just after i try to continue to chapter 4, the game wont start and began crashing everytime. Right now i cant even play anyother character on anyother chapter. I try to play on Chrish and Ada wong chapter 1 and the game is suddenly Crashing again and again.
If you can get beyond the horrendous camera angles and learn the combat its pretty fun, also if ur new, play jakes campain first then chris then leon then ada, dont start with leon, ruins the tension.
Re6 is easily my favorite game in the franchise. Is it the best game? God no. Is the gameplay good? GOD no. However it makes me happy and I can play with my friends, which is what matters. Also, Piers is easily the best character to ever exist in the entire resident evil universe, so it's worth it for his and Chris's campaign. Any self respecting gamer (I am not a self respecting gamer) should play this game.
OK i still playing this games in 2024, it's fun to play if you got pal to play with (which i do have), let's just talk about the mercenaries mode, omg the best of the best, and it has soooo many varieties of enemies, also L4D enemies, definitely recommend for multiplayer (off/online)
Resident Evil 6 is a perfect zombie shooter for both one and two players. Different difficulties, a huge variety of weapons, easy crafting of first aid kits and most importantly - the game does not get boring. Also, if you initially chose a very high difficulty, you can always lower it during the game.
In the Xbox 360 version, Chris and Piers had a quick time event where they passionately kissed at the end of the story.
In this version, they completely removed this section.
I feel this game is under rated its a little clunky but very fun. Switchable OTS , dual wielding, bullet damage on enemies, decent melee, and more. An action survival horror movie. I hope it gets a remake.
God awful RE game, but it's an amazing game to play with friends. Highly recommended it's really funny
No Rest for the Weary

I'm really glad I managed to beat another Resident Evil game. This time supposedly one of the fans' least favorites and the one considered the lowest point of the franchise. It did however surprise me in a good way. So here are my thoughts on it.
I'm going to start off with the gameplay. The game plays a bit differently from the remakes 2-4. It's a lot more action-packed, less focused on horror and inventory management, and more centered on action. It's honestly a really nice action game with cool set pieces that kept me entertained for the 29 hours I spent playing it. I played through most of it in co-op, which was really fun, up until the Ada campaign. Its co-op felt like an afterthought, not very enjoyable for the person playing as the soldier who can't open doors or do anything except walk and shoot. The enemy variety was decent... However, some of the enemies felt basically like what you get in an FPS game, with guns and stuff, which honestly wasn't what you'd expect from a Resident Evil game, and I'd understand if people hated it. The boss battles were good, they had some cool designs, especially in the Ada campaign.
The game is divided into four campaigns, which means there is so much content to get through, and all of the campaigns were equally good in my opinion, and they're all worth playing in order as the last one ties up everything nicely.
The story is okay, it's a bit silly at times, and the voice acting is cringy, but it honestly didn't hurt my enjoyment of the game. The technical performance was pretty good. I mean it's a 2012 game at this point, so you should be able to run it no problem, and it honestly still looks great even in 2024.
TL;DR: The game is really fun. It's not like the RE remakes, it's its own version of RE. It's not scary, it's action-heavy if that's what you're looking for. Pick this up for cheap on sale.
It's really not that bad of a game. Story is pretty good almost like a moviez the gameplay kinda sucks but you know whatever I played worse.
The normal gameplay loop is fine, but when it tries to switch it up with turret and vehicle sections, the game falls apart. I literally had no idea how I was dying over and over again during the avalanche section, because its also impossible to see, so I stopped there.
Completely derails gameplay, can't recommend
I have given the 5th game a positive review, and in my opinion this runs and controls a lot better than that game without any major bugs or glitches. So because of that and a few cool moments i will be giving this one a positive review as well.
Both this and the previous game do not feel like the resident evil you may know. There's no real horror or anything, it is more of an action co-op game. That being said, it is not even that great at being an action game. A lot of reused cutscenes throughout the intertwining campaigns that feel like a drag, and don't get me started on 3 keys you have to obtain to progress in each one. This already is not a short game (which would be a good thing), but there are a lot of moments that feel annoying and unnecessary at times. Sometimes the story is nonsensical and the Ada co-op campaign feels like an afterthought. The controls even though better than in RE5, still aren't great on mouse and keyboard in this game. Upgrade system is dumb, only being able to have 3 upgrades at a time (and they cost a lot), so it's hard to mix things up.
Yet, it has it's charm and if you are a huge fan of the series or have a friend to play with, and don't mind this games flaws, it does have it's cool moments and it can be an okay, fun experience.
If Resident Evil has melee combat that was fun
As a game, RE6 is not bad. Start with the good: One of the best things about it is the interweaving story arcs. It is really neat how Capcom did that. The fact that the story has been getting bigger and bigger geographically through the series. RE6 takes it to the largest setting to date. Really showcasing how the different groups are both fighting against and gunning for BOWs and various viruses and more people are becoming aware of everything. Raccoon city is not longer a cover up. Generally the plot is not too shabby.
The stuff I don't like as much: The writing is a bit dated. It is a lot more shooter/action than horror. It is more John Woo or Ballywood with the action sequences. It is beyond unbelievable with what the characters go through. The achievements are in a word; tedious. The multiplayer, if you are not the host, you get zero credit for completion. So that gets really annoying. From a control point, the mouse is REALLY touchy and your field of view is pretty bad. You have no mouse tracking adjustment either. It is really designed for a controller, but I personally hate aiming with them. Outside of that it is entertaining. Comparing it to the rest of the RE games, it is arguable one of the worst games in the series. But even their worst games are pretty decent.
great game lots of car crashes like how my father died in 9/11.
the coop was funny and there were a lot of car crashes and shit
I had a good time playing this! While the controls were janky and needs to be fixed, the game was so fun to play!
This was one of my least favorite Resident Evil games, but if you are invested in the story then it might be worth the playthrough.
this s s grest game love hs game this game s very buggy but i still lge ths game very fun to play cop but fun alone als
It may not be the iconic survival horror experience you are looking for, but it's a spectacle to play with a friend. I wanted to really challenge myself, so I played Resident Evil 6 on the hardest difficulty possible: No Hope. This difficulty will really make you fight for your life, but I think it adds some sort of accomplishment and achievement when you complete all four campaigns on that difficulty.
PROS:
- Bosses (The Ustanak and Simmons)
- Playing on hard difficulty can give you a sort of survival horror gameplay
- Skills (although these are disabled on No Hope)
- Co-Op
- Wonderfully voice acted
CONS
- You will be mainly getting skill points in drops
- Physics are too realistic in this game.
- There are no in game costumes
- Some sections are rage quitting at times
FINAL VERDICT: Whilst Resident Evil 6 is a flawed experience, I overall had fun. My favorite campaign has to be Leon's, followed by Jake. Chris comes in third place since some of the Javo enemies can be outright infuriating to deal with. Ada comes in last place and this is where my main concern comes in. Ada's campaign does not work in Co-Op. From what I understand, it was originally supposed to be a singleplayer experience, with co-op being added later. This messes some of the balance up in the campaign, there was one boss that was more or less annoying to deal with since it was obviously designed for one player (i.e. the chainsaw guy on the bus).
8/10, Play this game if you want to have a good time with your friend, but maybe avoid this game if you're looking for a survival horror experience.
I honestly don't know where to begin with this review.. aside the messy gameplay, and the messy story structure.
The only thing I can say is that RE6 is a beautiful messy train wreck. And just like with RE5. RE6 must not be played alone
The only reason why I recommend it is solely base on how fun you can have at making fun of the story, character dynamic and just the absurdity of it all
Similar to my views on RE5, this is a fun game with boatloads of content, and each character's scenario does play out differently, giving a different gameplay feeling. It still isn't a horror game, and too far removed from the series roots.
Resident Evil 6 is an action-packed game that deviates from traditional horror features, attracting fans of action-adventure games, co-op gaming, and prolonged gameplay. It has explosive moments, large battles, and a diverse cast of characters, making it one of the series' longest and most content-rich editions.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Resident Evil 6 is an absolute tour de force, and my experience with it was nothing short of incredible! From the moment I started, I knew this game was going to be special. 💥
💥 Diverse Campaigns: The game offers four campaigns, each with its own unique twist. I had the chance to play as Leon, Chris, Jake, and Ada, and each character brought something fresh to the table. Leon's campaign was a classic horror thriller that kept me on edge the entire time. Chris' campaign was more intense and action-packed, with huge battles that had me glued to the screen. Jake's story was a perfect mix of high-energy combat and emotional depth, while Ada’s campaign gave me a real sense of mystery and intrigue. Each one kept me hooked, and it felt like I was playing a completely new game with every change of character. 🎮🔥
💀 Action-Packed Combat: Honestly, the combat in RE6 was a game-changer. The moment I jumped into the action, I was amazed at how fluid and satisfying the controls were. Switching between intense gunfights and brutal hand-to-hand combat felt seamless. Whether I was executing a brutal melee move to take down a B.O.W. or unloading a clip into a horde of zombies, everything felt smooth and impactful. The variety of weapons, from shotguns to grenade launchers, kept me excited to try out new strategies, and the QTEs (Quick Time Events) had me on the edge of my seat, especially during boss fights! 🤜🤛
👾 Stunning Graphics & Environments: One of my most memorable experiences with RE6 was just exploring its world. The graphics were so detailed, I found myself stopping just to admire the environment! From the gritty, dark streets of Tall Oaks to the lush forests in China, every location felt real and immersive. The lighting, textures, and level design kept me hooked and made each area feel unique. Some sequences, like escaping a collapsing building or fighting off waves of enemies in tight corridors, were pure cinematic magic. 🌆🌲
💬 Great Multiplayer: The multiplayer aspect of RE6 is a highlight, and my time with it was a blast! I spent hours playing co-op with a friend, and it was so much fun. The mechanics were easy to get into, and we could strategize and tackle enemies together. Whether we were navigating the tense, tight spaces or fighting off massive boss monsters, the teamwork aspect made it all the more rewarding. The ability to play both locally and online also meant that I could dive into some epic sessions with friends no matter where they were. 👫
🎶 Epic Soundtrack & Sound Design: The sound design in RE6 blew me away. The soundtrack was perfectly timed, with tense music building up during fights, giving me an adrenaline rush before a big battle. The sound effects—whether it was the groans of zombies or the thundering footsteps of massive enemies—were so immersive, I found myself truly on edge. During some of the more suspenseful moments, the ambient sounds created such an atmosphere that I was genuinely nervous to move forward. 🧟♂️🔊
👑 Endless Replayability: What really stood out to me was how much I wanted to replay the game. After finishing each campaign, I couldn’t wait to jump into a higher difficulty or explore the hidden secrets scattered around the maps. Unlocking new costumes, weapons, and even bonus modes like Mercenaries kept me coming back for more. I also loved unlocking extra content that made me see the story in a new light—RE6 doesn’t just end after you finish the main campaign; there’s so much to uncover. 🔄
In conclusion, Resident Evil 6 exceeded all my expectations and delivered an experience that was both thrilling and unforgettable. Whether you’re a longtime RE fan or new to the series, this game has something for everyone. I’m so glad I gave it a chance, and I’m certain that it’ll remain a favorite of mine for years to come. 🏆🎉
🔥 Resident Evil 6 deserves a full six stars for being the ultimate blend of action, horror, and adventure! 🔥
This game series has always interested me and I have played a few of its games with pleasure. I downloaded this game with enthusiasm and started playing it, but then I noticed that there was a saving problem in the game. I played for a long time, then I quit and when I entered again, unfortunately I saw that the game had started from the beginning. I tried to solve the problem a little, but unfortunately it did not help. You have to enter and finish it in one go. I hope this problem is fixed.
Replayed it after playing on release and this part still holds. Despite gameplay-wise, it has some control issues and a dire lack of bullets in some moments unless you grind and upgrade certain perks. Even though I prefer weapon upgrading over perks upgrading, the game is still breathtaking—great campaign, great cutscenes, and action-packed to the brim. I really wish the RE7 would have Jake as a protagonist instead of Ethan, but we have very boring protagonists in the following entries. Really wish they would return Sherry Birkin and Jake in the future.
This game is different from rest of the RE games, Totally 4 main campaigns and entirely action oriented. The Story wasn't very interesting after I Finished Leon's and Chris's campaign. Jake's campaign was very boring. Overall, This is not the worst RE game and not the best. But Surely worth a play.
I kept getting harassed by a discord mod that got turned into a zombie.
10/10 game tho
Very good game, a lot of action and it's fun to play with a friend :)
Used to play this when I was still in high school. Still a great game no matter what other people said. Not scary but I love all the actions. It's been a long time since I played a game with lots of QTE. Well the controls are a bit tight and janky but I get used to it pretty easily. Ada Wong here is so beautiful compared to the other series. And I just realized how heartbreaking Chris's campaign is as I grow older :)
Resident Evil is no stranger to cheese or camp, but this crosses that fine line into cringe.
Fans of the series have been divided into 2 groups: there are those who hate Resident Evil 6 and then there are those who are coping liars. I have a pretty tolerable palette when it comes to playing janky or even bad video games, but this is pushing my limits. It has the script and amount of explosions of an Expendables film, a motion-sickness inducing camera, and a control scheme and UI system that has been designed by Jigsaw. It's a Bollywood production which is Resident Evil in name only. The fact that this game was able to be designed, tested, and released is a modern mystery of the world.
I am determined to finish this. Maybe not this year, or the next, but at some point in my life I will finish this game just so I can have full authority to not recommend playing it. Until then, consider this a warning.
After surviving to a fall to the center of the earth, falling on a prehistoric slide while shooting to a zombie shark, they then crash a airplane in the middle of a city, exploding buildings and cars in the process, then engage in a fight against a big zombie dog in a moving train while jumping to another to end up in a big derail of the train with explosions and flames while our main characters jump to the water to save themselves
