Resident Evil 6 was... disappointing. It's regarded as the worst game in the franchise and for good reason. The storyline was all over the place, and it barely had the survival horror elements so many players were looking forward to besides the inclusion of zombies. When you continuously use the same storyline of a zombie/biohazard outbreak, people want to see something new and fresh. It's also insanely long for such a boring game. In summary, RE6 is basically just an action game with some horror elements that lacked the passion and time put into it that made the other games shine.
Resident Evil 6 is a game that tries to be everything for everyone, and in doing so, it ends up being a muddled and disappointing entry in the franchise...
While its ambition is undeniable, the result is a bloated experience that strays far from what made the series a staple of survival horror.
The game’s biggest flaw is its identity crisis.
Instead of focusing on a cohesive tone, Resident Evil 6 splits itself across four campaigns, each attempting to cater to a different playstyle.
Leon’s story aims for horror but falls short, Chris’s campaign is a generic military shooter, Jake’s segments feel like an action movie gone wrong, and Ada’s stealth-focused missions feel tacked on.
The constant shifting between these styles makes the game feel disjointed and unfocused!
The gameplay itself is overly reliant on action, with wave after wave of enemies and an overabundance of ammo.
This shift toward bombastic set pieces and Hollywood-style explosions strips away any semblance of tension or fear.
The result is a game that feels more like a generic third-person shooter than a Resident Evil title!
To make matters worse, the controls and mechanics often feel clunky and overcomplicated.
The game bombards players with quick-time events, awkward cover mechanics, and cumbersome combat sequences that break immersion rather than enhance it!
The story doesn’t fare much better...
What could have been an intriguing narrative is instead a convoluted mess of intersecting plotlines, hammy dialogue, and forgettable villains.
While the returning characters are a nice nod to fans, their arcs are drowned in the chaos of a story that tries too hard to be epic without earning its emotional beats.
Even the visuals and environments, while technically impressive in places, feel uninspired compared to the atmosphere-rich settings of earlier games.
It’s all flash and no substance, leaving little that feels memorable or iconic.
In trying to appeal to everyone, Resident Evil 6 ends up alienating longtime fans of the series and failing to deliver a satisfying experience for newcomers.
It’s a case of more not always being better, and a reminder that bigger isn’t always scarier.
I think re6 is one of the best game from this whole franchise. Being able to play from different perspectives I believe made the best part to actually understand the lore, which is done really good through out the game. Also the designs and details look so cool for a 2012 game and I recommend this game so much. I also played the other games (remake and original) and i really believe this one was a huge bang on me. One of the best re games!!!
It is not a bad resident evil game. It has different shorter stories this time, but still I liked to play through it and it is quite enjoyable.

but for me RE6 is such a good game to play!!!
This game is fun. I only have a few problems with.
- Knocked down by bullet spam. This is by far the most annoying thing in the game.
- Cover shooting just sucks and it's easier to just peek around corners. Problem with that is they put the cover button on the same button as ads. Corridors can be menace as you will suck to the walls getting you killed.
- The shortcut system sucks. Resident Evil 5 did it better. You should be able to stash guns you don't want. or just throw them on the ground.
- Gun upgrading is no longer a thing, it's replaced with skills that don't give any percentage or good description of what they do. Upgrading guns will always be superior to skills as you get to improve you favorite weapons.
Other than these complaints I had a great time. Played all 4 campaigns so far on Veteran. Leon, Sherry, Chris, and Ada. Have not played any of the other modes yet but plan on doing it. I would gladly recommend this game to people. Make sure to download Flawless Widescreen for better FOV and DSX if you use a dual shock controller.
Agent on Ada's campaign can't go down the slide, unplayable.

this game is similar to re5 where it has a different formula compared to the rest of the resident evil games. I'm not a fan of this formula nor the gameplay and hordes of zombies that both this and re5 have. the gameplay is iffy and is similar to call of duty's campaigns. I did enjoy the four different campaigns storywise, which should be played in order that the game presents: leon/helena > chris/piers > jake/sherry > ada. overall okay game that is heavily action orientated. play it if you're a re fan 6/10
pure cinema. best game to ever exist. i tried to play other games afterwards and couldn't because they weren't as good as this one. if anyone doesn't like this game they are probably a bad person. remove every game from your steam account except for this
I'm glad I gave this game a second chance. Just finished the Leon campaign, and I loved it. Once you just accept that there's a lot more action than in other Resident Evil games, you can enjoy the game. The shooting is very satisfying, the cutscenes are epic, the locations are great,, amazing graphics, and most importantly the game is fun. Now looking forward to playing the other 3 campaigns
Aside from Chris' campaign, this game is pretty fun tbh. I get why it gets hate, but it's cool to see an RE game 100% fully embracing the hollywood-over the top-action style that the franchise always had (in a mayor or minor degree). Plus, you get to see adult sherry <3 and the hottest 3D version of Leon
This game deserves more love, but some of the story campaigns are boring af and you wonder why capcom decided to add it at all. This is probably the most cinematic game of series, it feels like the developers have hurriedly made a spin-off game for RE Damnation or Vendetta movies

It is very hard to recommend this game as the nicest thing I can say is that it lacks polish. That being said, I can definitely appreciate the effort put in by the Capcom team to provide four campaigns to play, that circles around the same story. That's a lot work and effort. However it feels rushed and I would only recommend this game for fans of the franchise. If not a fan, then this game scores a 6 out of 10. Leon and Ada's campaign are the most decent with the other two quite frustrating especially on the harder difficulties on the first play through.

deserves the hate. couldn't even bring myself to finish the first chapter or whatever. I loved re4 and 5 but this is actually infuriating. I wanted to like this but I just can't stand trying to play this game. skipping this to play re7 and the remakes.

I know some people may not agree with me but actually this game deserve the love. It have a great story, great plot twist and each campaign have connection to other campaign. But for me, the main problem of this game is the gameplay. it's like you play a tutorial. i know Capcom have a new project for the next RE but i hope that Capcom make a remastered or remake for this game
This has a good storyline but I feel like this game overall could be a lot better. The controls are wonky, telling me to hit a button when it wants me to hold a button instead, or randomly taking control of the camera and making it impossible to see where I am. Be expected to die a lot and get frustrated because I know I did. However, if you enjoy the other Resident Evil games, this one is pretty good
At first i was sorta scared to play cuz some fans say this game was straight booty but i think the game is really fun! I loved each challenge the game threw at me and i have to say, Leon's diva walk and MASSIVE booty was my fave part :D chris was cool too ig..
Once you get used to the controls, this game is a blast. I love that you can play 7 different character. The game play is fast paced and can be stressful...in a good gaming way. I find that replaying this game is satisfying as you progress in combat skills and increase the game mode to Professional or higher. Enabling Skills is very helpful when in zone where you face multiple enemies at once. If not for the Quick Time Events, this game would be toward the top of my favorite games. I just started a No Hope game using Sherry and man is it tough, but fun.
Far from as bad as people claim it to be. It's definitely worth playing if you like action games at least. It's a rather consistent experience throughout all campaigns, but they all go through different struggles.
Leon/Helena:
Definitely the worst campaign and unfortunately the slowest of them. The beginning is a major slog due to how many sections you're forced to walk through while doing essentially nothing. It does however get pretty fun and cool once you end up in the city. The people that enjoy this campaign seem to mostly be doing it because it's the most similar to the original RE format, but I don't think it really excuses how boring it is. It really doesn't fit the more action oriented playstyle of this game either. What they did to Abigail was also unnecessary. Do they have to make everything horny? Absolutely distasteful.
Chris/Piers:
People tend to compare this one to CoD which makes sense due to it leaning more into the military fantasy. It's not so much about the monsters in this campaign, but rather the internal struggles of Chris who keeps getting his teammates picked off one by one while trying to pursue his goal. It's pretty fun and probably the best campaign in this game.
Jake/Sherry:
A bit of a mixed bag, but overall a pretty solid experience. It feels like this campaign makes the least sense, at least chronologically since it spans over at least 6 months while taking place at the same time as the other campaigns which seem to take place in less than a week. I don't really like the dynamic between Jake and Sherry since it feels like they were there just to force a couple into the game and have somewhat of a return of the fan favorite from the previous two mainline games Wesker. As their own characters I like them however. The snow area was way too large and there wasn't really any point in actually fighting anything there. Somewhat comparable to RE3 due to the giant monster that follows you throughout the game, but RE3 is more fo a horror game.
Ada:
Both the easiest and the hardest campaign. The difficulty comes from being a solo player experience (you can coop, but it's meant to be played solo) that crams you into tight spaces in a game where mobility is a big factor. This is however mostly just an issue in the first chapter since everything is such a breeze throughout the rest of the game. For the most part you'll be acting like somewhat of a sniper that helps the other characters out. They can however not die so for the most part you can just wait for the AI to do its job. Whenever you're truly playing alone however, stealth is possible and there aren't that many enemies so it's not that difficult anyway. Her campaign is what ties everything together, kind of. It's just not that interesting though and feels more like a bonus mode.
This may not be a good RE game, but it's a good action game. The controls can feel a little clunky when you want to do tighter movement and the aiming feels a bit off at times. It feels like they added a bunch of fan service for no reason which at best was pointless or distracting and at worst distasteful. It's however not that big of a deal unless you play it around your parents or something. This game is probably better as a coop experience, but it's not bad alone either. I'd recommend getting it one sale, but it's relatively cheap normally.
This game is awesome and the Split-Screen is great except for the 'little boxes', that being said it's how they do it and I honestly don't mind it, have played through the game a few times now on the couch with my wife and it was a blast every single time.
Yes, this game was fun, but short as I only played as Leon. It is missing the whole search for clues and discover the truth aspect of the other games. It is very much a run and shoot affair. You also do not move locations very much, meaning the leveling does not feel the same with other games. Leon had 5 chapters, but they only took place in 2 locations. The graphics and monsters look great, but fighting the same villain the whole time in multiple different forms did not feel exciting or inventive. The game does not help as much as I would like in terms of I had no idea how to fight the final form of the monster and wasted a lot of time doing nothing but shooting nowhere trying to solve how to beat the final form monster. I do not feel any need to play as the other characters. Once the credits roll, I am done.

This game was ok, though the pc version seems a little bit more buggy and has de-sync compared to console. So, sale, sale, sale. This game has free melee, dodging, and shooting with movement, which was new at the time. Will say this game has a lot of BS deaths, like you can get stun locked, a second late in a run event, ect. and just die.
Leon's has a bug that will make you rage in chapter one btw. good luck with that. I had to body block an NPC. Some people say you have to wait.
My friend ruined this game for me, The 6 looks like a giraffe with clown shoes getting head, and now it is ruined for you too.

Ignore the fact that this is a Resident Evil game. That doesn't matter. There are so many, many, MANY reasons why this game should have been shelved, and it DOES NOT matter that it's a Resident Evil game. Don't get me wrong - the fact that it's a Resident Evil game only hurts more, and the fact that Capcom shat all over one of its biggest franchises like this feels like a personal attack - but on a fundamental level, this is one of the most overblown, overfunded, empty, hollow, and shallow pieces of media I have ever consumed.
A story that waves most of itself away. Characters that act different between cutscenes. Utterly random and bizarre bouts of horniness. A 20+ hour campaign that's scared of giving the player too much control. A nauseating camera. Unresponsive controls. Bad pacing. Bad bosses. Bad level design. Bad gameplay. Bad. BaD. bAD. BAD. BAD. BAD. BAD.BAD.BADBADBADBADBADBADBADB
It's pretty for a decade-old game. It's still a ball of shit, but at least it's a well-lit piece of shit.

Mercenaries mode is the only redeeming thing about this game, it's super fun to just sit back and blast hordes as Leon Kennedy.
Also the dodging is super fun and looks badass when you perfectly dodge an attack.
Don't ask me about the Campaign stories though, I fell asleep through most of them due to the really bad writing.
The 4 campaigns are fun if you like shooting and doing martial arts against zombies and other variants of your neighbours, but the best part of this game is undeniably the agent hunt mode since you get to be a zombie or abomination to attempt to kill player agents and stall their progress in the campaigns. This mode is unbalanced in the agent players favour since games where you may play as a creature tend to be sexually attracted to the human side since apparently zombies aren't sexy.
The Javo creature is the best creature to play as since you can block and attack which is the fastest attack you have out of all creatures so you can stunlock some clowns to death if their partner doesn't interupt your fun. The ai of an agent is very accurate and can carry a noob through the game with their unlimited ammo and infinite health.
The fact you cannot play as minibosses or bosses is a missed opportunity since that would give you a reasonable chance to kill a player agent, but since that would be fun, that is not allowed.
The other game modes are fun too, but they are inactive so they are unplayable, besides the two mercanaries modes.
If Capcom made a good Resident Evil game with multiplayer, that game would be better than any other multiplayer Resident Evil game, but they often don't make games at there full potential of fun.
I recommend adding co op or pvp to the old Resident Evil games as that would spice things up.
Even though it's the most polarizing game in the resident evil series it's still a fun game with or without friends. 7/10
Leon and Chris campaigns are okay.
Jake and Ada's campaigns are absolutely packed with instant death QTE bullshit and 'mini-games', to the point where this was the only mainline RE game I never bothered finishing the campaign.
Co-op mercs is fun, though not as good as RE5.
Overall this is easily one of the worst RE games and there's a very good reason why they started over in RE7.
As much as i love the re franchise this game just still doesn't leave the mark for a good resident evil. Not saying it's terrible but felt like it was doing too much with not enough time to execute all the storiesI've played and bought this game 3 different times this is my 4th purchase so i can have it on steam .This was the only main line reident evil game that i'ddjust avoid if you'e new to resident evil. Update Just finished it if you were to play this game i'd reccomend Jake first Chris Second Leon third and finally Ada.

This feels like Resident evil 5 diluted itself in water to the point of losing all flavor. And I thought Re5 itself felt like a diluted RE4. So now we're at the bottom of the barrel, folks.
It doesn't work as an action game for me, or a survival horror, or as anything i would ever call Resident Evil.
It's like RE5 made drunken love to itself to produce this grotesque sequel. And then Re5 let that child rot, then raised it from the grave, and now its a walking corpse named Resident evil 6.
Being publicly shamed and getting beaten down on the streets of brooklyn would be preferable to me rather than playing through this entire game.
The game is good, though the story is a bit hard to follow. It's very action-oriented, but there were parts that made me a bit scared to continue walking forward. Additionally, you’ll need to look into guides, as some controls aren’t properly introduced during the game. Despite the negative reviews, I enjoyed it. The price may not be worth it, so I recommend buying it on sale.

While I do not really enjoy these action-heavy Resident Evil games too much (they are hardly Resident Evil games in my opinion), I was surprised with the fun this game delivers (specifically in co-op play with a friend), as well as with how much playtime it offers - I spent around 20 hours to complete all 4 campaigns. Now the story is pretty poor and the gameplay can be janky, but I will always remember the section with the snow scooters getting away from the avalanche as we failed this like 20 times until my game crashed, simply because of all the laughter this caused.
Interestingly enough, it seems I enjoyed the campaigns opposite to what the online consensus would be: Sherry and Jake gets the number one spot, then Chris and Pierce, and Leon and Helena's + Ada's campaigns at the bottom. Putting Sherry's campaign at the top because of Jake's humor and the funny moments (refer to earlier comment about snow scooters) and Chris' campaign felt like the end of Village in some ways but I liked feeling overpowered from the start for a change. Leon's story was quite a letdown for me, but bonus points for the voice actor combination there! I wonder why Ada had to come across so cocky with her one liners all the time...
I would only recommend this game if you want to play through all Resident Evil games. Otherwise, there are way better games in this franchise to try out first.
It took me years to finish this game, like 8-10 years. Why? Because it is terrible. One of the worst games I have ever played but I wanted to finish it and finally play part 7 and 8. The story is really bad, like over the top comedy action bad, except it is all serious. The controls are some of the worst I have ever encountered on both keyboard/mouse and controller. The inventory system is unintuitive and just exist to frustrate. Finally the gameplay is junky and silly situations with the camera happen in an attempt to enhance whatever situation you're in because without the silly camera tricks the awful gameplay would be transparent.
The worst resident evil by far and after playing it I understand why the series took a drastic turn in gameplay philosophy afterwards.
No. Had this game since forever, but there's no sound. You can't even exit it by normal means. Have to use Windows Task Manager. The modding community isn't interested in this game either. there're 4 story lines that are all very short, and the controls feel very sticky and unresponsive.
The partner AI is exceptionally bad, nonexistent and completely useless where it was awesome and entertaining in RE5. RE6 for me is the worst of the series.
Great and really enjoyable as an action game. Not an resident evil title tho, it just isn't the same. I can't really see myself playing this solo. But the combat is really fun and smooth.
The game is crashing while im try to play leon chapter 4-1. The first chapter like 1 to 3 is completly fine. just after i try to continue to chapter 4, the game wont start and began crashing everytime. Right now i cant even play anyother character on anyother chapter. I try to play on Chrish and Ada wong chapter 1 and the game is suddenly Crashing again and again.
If you can get beyond the horrendous camera angles and learn the combat its pretty fun, also if ur new, play jakes campain first then chris then leon then ada, dont start with leon, ruins the tension.
Re6 is easily my favorite game in the franchise. Is it the best game? God no. Is the gameplay good? GOD no. However it makes me happy and I can play with my friends, which is what matters. Also, Piers is easily the best character to ever exist in the entire resident evil universe, so it's worth it for his and Chris's campaign. Any self respecting gamer (I am not a self respecting gamer) should play this game.
