It took me a lot of time trying to understand what exactly wasn't enjoyable about this game. I mean, I wasn't having any fun at all, but if I tried to break the game down into pieces, each piece was okayish enough (graphics were okay, story was okay, basic mechanics seemed okay). After quite some time I understood what was lacking. The game is a shooter (with very light elements of the survival genre). As a shooter game, I don't enjoy it. It was made to play comfortably on consoles (no precise aiming, no real challenge). To make matters worse, the pace of the shooting (so the pace of the game, actually) is constantly interrupted. For instance, if I'm killing some boss, but the boss has a certain number of phases and I don't know if I'm just wasting bullets until the next phase is unlocking or I'm still doing actual damage. The pace is interrupted. There are more examples, such as interruptions for walking, quick-time events, and story that I don't really care about. There isn't free exploration (which per se isn't really a problem), and the scenery is too dark for me to bother about it.
If I ever make a game, I'll try to look back at this one as how to have many separate good things (good graphics, okayish story, etc), and still suck as game (if the game is primarily challenging you as a shooter, make sure this part fun). If you're looking for a zombie game, just go for Left 4 Dead 2.
Awesome edition to the Trilogy, but not meant for keyboard and mouse...
This game reminds me of why I fell in love with the Resident Evil Saga's when they first started coming out, and to this day is still being an enjoyable play through. The game is most definitely nicely well put together as the "CAPCOM" developers never disappoint in there graphic quality and especially during the cut scenes making it better than the movies that are released for it. I still remember the day the original Resident Evil movie came out and the iconic line "you're all going to die down here" however that has yet to be seen in the games I think. However, this specific game came out for console and love how they put it together to be played on mouse and keyboard but the key-binds are so wildly off putting and the mouse sensitivity is something that makes me want to relearn controller again. I do love how you are able to play the game as Co-op mode and there are different story lines that come into the game instead of having one main story mission.
In my opinion, this is a nice game to play for the trilogies that are out and are coming out to this day hopefully. I highly recommend waiting for the sale due to the shelf life that this game has been out for.
Resident Evil 6. One of the best. Only those with intellectual mindsets will get the niches and small details of it. Play solo if you want to really understand the themes of RE.
it is actually a very good game once you get used to the controls, I dont really understand the hate when there are resident evil games way worse
worst game of the series! a lot of bugs and glitches. should have been a free game. whomever release it should be fired!
After RE5, this is more of the same. The horror is background noise, the game is a corridor shooter mostly designed for co-op. And I'd say, with the exception of aggravating cutscene QTEs (truly the worst part of the game), this one plays actually better than RE5. Sure, you don't have Wesker and the plot is even dumber this time around, but gunplay, AI partner and bosses are generally vastly improved.
At this point everyone knows that this is the final chapter of the action trilogy, you have no reason to expect a survival horror if you decide to grab it. Do I prefer the survival horror games? No doubt. I'm so happy RE7 changed things around and paved the way for the awesome remakes. But as long as you know what you are getting yourself in, it's really not the terrible game that the press has always described.
A solid 6.5/10
Worth it if you're playing with a friend on co-op. The storyline is weak and at times the gameplay feels repetitious, but if you go in for a good time you will enjoy it.
It is not my favorite Resident Evil game by far, but it does have some fun moments.
Jake and Sherry's campaign was the most fun.
This game so good ngl. It's one of my favorite games and I think the gameplay is really unique and fun. Co op is really fun too. I spent so many hours in Mercenaries mode because the combat really shines there
Action game, a shooting gallery with zombies, no meaningful progression.
Maybe this game is better co op, but solo it's very boring. Idk if I'll finish this one.
good game, I played with my girl and we had a lot of fun, Jake and Sherry's is our fave
There are some game breaking bugs that still exist in the game since launch and probably won't be fixed, like a door in Jake's campaign that causes player two to not be able to go past a certain area
apart from that tho the game is fun with someone else, I can see it being quite boring if you don't have someone else to play with however
It gets a lot of flack for not being scary, which I get, but it's a very engaging action game outside of that that rewards creativity.
I mean the game is good but not that bad as I heard from before because RE6 has some good mobility which makes the game fun to be honest but has some issues with the camera. Good game and play it Co-op with a friend if you have the chance :)
A pretty loooong campaign mode with lots of variety and a mercenaries mode SO damn fun to play. I love it almost as much as I love McDonalds.
[h1]Breasts physics[h1]
Not a resident evil game at all! But as an action game it is very decent and enjoyable.
Controls made me a bit angry and confused at first. The whole being unable to pause or skip cut scenes is a bit irritating playing alone. I get why it got so much hate but it's a guilty pleasure for me even though it makes me mad.
A fun installment of the Resident Evil franchise. Probably the one with the most over-the-top action scenes.
It has four campaigns that interconnect and tell the whole story:
Leon's was more survival horror oriented.
Chris' campaign had a lot of fun action sequences.
Jake's was a mix of both.
Ada's was stealthier and more tactical.
I can see that the game was more co-op oriented that previous titles, and I bet it would have been a lot of fun to play with a friend.
Would recommend to RE fans.
Dang what the heck, Just did leon and Helena's campaign, why is this game hated? I think its pretty chilled, pretty good storyline I like how all of them some are some how connected, we needed more Helena fan service though... Overall, fun game
re6 is the best game ever it has the best story, gameplay, characters, enemies, acting and levels of all time 10 / 10 a perfect masterpiece nothing wrong with it whatsoever
before playing this game, i always thought it was a bad game because of everyone saying it is the worst resident evil game ever. but after giving it a chance, i realized that’s not true. i really liked its unique gameplay style, which other resident evil games don't have, and this game is especially more fun when playing with a friend in co-op. besides the few bugs i have encountered, i dont think it has other issues. i hope this game gets a remake so that people's opinions can change about it.
A fun coop game but it kinda overstays its welcome. By the time you get to the 4th campaign your brain will probably be melted from all the Michael Bay level explosions and horrible writing. Aside from that the gameplay itself is good, although no horror whatsoever. Oh and there's some extra game modes if you wanna play the game more but not the campaign. Get it on sale and convince a buddy to play it with you!
The game is great. Multiplayer is sooo much fun.
Parts of the game are borderline unplayable on MnK. The running/escape sections in Chris' campaign for example. The camera shifts and button prompts are shit
just dont play it man, its so boring, good controls and mechanics for a action game but it still manages to be a boring piece of slop that a disabled toddler who is sick and wearing ear muffs and a blind fold could beat the game. so i guess its a fun game if you want to turn yr brain off and getta lobotomy
It is objectively one of the worst RE's, but still legitimately one of funniest coop games. We played on No Hope and laughed our asses off the entire way through. Grab a friend and this game is still funny as hell.
Out of the four campaigns in this Resident evil game, Leon and Jakes has to be the best because i did not smile not one time while i was playing chris' or ada story. The amount of times i died during chris runaway scene actually made me question my life and my reasoning because my great grandfather did not fight everyday in his country just to survive and here i am screaming at the top of my lungs in front of a screen because the camera angles are so shit i rather do a line of soft baby shit fresh out the hole than play chris' campaign again. But other than that the lore is amazing 10/10
Liked the story. Gameplay was Mickey mouse asf, BUT... Overall i had a good time. (Definitely play this game with a friend)
The few times this game is fun are not worth the amount of times it makes you want to pull your hair out.
I went into this game open-minded, even though I heard it's not really good. But sadly, I gotta agree. There is a lot of content, don't get me wrong, but the thing is, none of it is really well made. I appreciate the concept of telling one huge story over the course of multiple campaigns. Sadly, none of them are really fun to play.
Leon's is by far the best since you mostly fight zombies and some B.O.W.s, and you can utilize the one thing I really like about this game: the melee combat system. That's the one thing they really made better compared to RE5. Sadly, it doesn't get used much since, in all the other three campaigns, you mostly fight enemies with guns, making melee ineffective.
The only other time the melee system is useful is in the Mercenaries mode, which I actually quite like. It almost feels like the system was designed with this game mode in mind. The last thing I find good is the ranking system with medals and titles. You get them for almost everything, and you can spend a lot of time collecting them all. I didn’t do that, though.
Now, let's move on to the things I find really unfun and bad in this game. First of all: quick-time events. So many quick-time events. And you can't even turn them off. There’s also a lot of fake gameplay where you just hold a direction key, and your character does the rest.
The chapters are way too long for the most part, each of them taking around an hour. The graphics seem almost like the most downgraded thing compared to RE5, even on PC with max settings. Speaking of settings, the in-game settings menu is just horrendous, and whoever came up with the idea of it being different for each character along with their HUD should not be designing games for a living. There are more things I really don't like, but you get the idea.
Overall, the game is not really worth it in my opinion. If you care about the story, you should just watch someone else play it, to be honest. I can see some value in the Mercenaries mode and the potential of playing it co-op with a friend. In that case, thankfully, it goes on sale quite often, so you can and should get it for no more than 5 euros.
The game not that bad but it lacks the actual Resident evil atmosphere that most of them has. It’s not really scary and it’s more action driven more than anything else. The story pretty good, I have played this game several times on my Xbox 360 so now I came to the PC version to enjoy it once again
And it looks like barely anyone plays this game at all. Def not easy finding another lobby with another player and the DLC for the game is strictly for online purposes except for Mercenaries mode otherwise the game is mediocre at its best. Love the characters that are introduced backed into the game like Leon, Ada, Chis and Sherry
this game is the definition of ass, it is a complete downgrade from re5 in every regard, just save yourself the time, money, and mental anguish. the movement is so stiff and annoying, the story is nothing special, and last but not least THERE'S NO REPLAY VALUE, you get perks instead of upgrading guns BUT THE PERKS DON'T MAKE A FUCKING DIFFERENCE. please just skip this game, it has nothing to do with 7 or 8 so just play those and skip this garbage.
Game in ridiculous, story makes no seance, pacing is terrible, no survival horror to be found..... I loved every minuet of it
get a friend and turn your brain off, its time to RKO some zombies
At first this game's UI really annoyed me, but i did get used to it. I played it with my sister, and it's definitely a lot of fun with a partner! There are some tedious parts, especially if you're using a keyboard, but still fun overall.
It isn't scary, if that's what you're looking for; there's a lot of over-the-top action just like RE5. But it's good for what it is, and I like the multiple overlapping campaigns and mercenaries mode. I liked seeing everyone's story .
It just feels janky? Not sure how to explain it, but I don't like this game as much as RE5 despite them being fairly similar gameplay wise.
I'm unwilling to play this game, and that's enough of a reason to not recommend it. Hopefully in a few years they remake this, 4 campaigns sounds awesome but I simply can't tolerate the gameplay.
Edit: It's not as bad as I described it, but it's still fairly rough and I wouldn't recommend it. Mostly playing it so I can finish all the stories out of habit.
I played this game with a good friend of mine. We both hated it. This is genuinely the worst game in the franchise and one of the worst co-op games ever made, but it was still fun. Our games weren't synced right so sometimes, during QTE sections, we'd just immediately die before we could react.
None of the four campaigns had any tension whatsoever. There was one section in the final campaign where an enemy charged through a fall that made us jump, but that's it. In the same campaign, there was one "boss fight" (I use that word loosely) that was somewhat creative. This game expects you to not know how to play games, so the only thing you do the entire time is move forward and shoot at things. Somehow, if you're with a friend, it's fun.
It's a game.
It was... a game. The co-op was ok. Networking issues made some sequences really trash and we died a TON. But it was a game.
So awful that it loops around to being good again and it runs surprisingly good for being so old
This is the funniest game I've ever played, it's ridiculous and stupid as fuck in the best way possible. It is extremely entertaining in co-op.
People say its bad because its too much action for RE but this is the most fun I've had playing a RE game.
Most underrated RE game . yeah the story kinda meh but it had fun coop and 4 capmgains sooo mannyyy good mini games and the multiplayer wasss sooooo gooooooodddd (also there is l4d2 characters so 10/10 game)
A good resident evil game.
First of all, I really loved that Capcom brought old character as a grown up. It was cool to see that. In every game before, there was a single group of characters from one part and not the other but they included many group of characters and merged them in a single event this time, I really liked that. Playing the events of story from the side of each character gave a sense of immersion into the story events.
The game mechanics were not that bad as people make it out to be. The visuals and graphics are good for a game of that time. I do agree though, there were too many action sequences but it was tolerable and even enjoyable sometimes.
I don't know why people complain about the game length. I know its long but I am okay with it. Since I always go for 100% completion, I have no problems with it but I can understand why people may get bored. So for the people who are into short game time, I won't recommend it. You need a good chunk of time for this game.
And the game often goes on sale, so its a great deal for the money you pay. Specially with the amount of content you get and the modes you can play with the DLCs.
All over, a good game to invest your time into. I highly recommend it to other people who are delving into the Resident Evil universe for the first time. It is fun and helps with the lore of the RE universe.
I rarely post negative reviews, but this so happens to be the first, quite ironic. I can see why this game is labeled as the worst in the franchise. Not only do I see that it doesn't feel like a Resident Evil game, but it's also incredibly annoying. Words cannot describe how many times I've died to stupid shit in these campaigns. Each one seems to have that one part were I die the most. Also, the elephant in the room, the explosions. Good God Almighty, this game has too much explosions lmao. I honestly tried to give this game a chance, seeing if there was some good in it but I can't. There were a few diamonds in the rough, but unfortunately, all the stuff I like is overshadowed by the things I didn't like. Out of the games I've played over the years since 2020, this is now my least favorite entry and is one of the worst games I've ever played. If you're curious checking it out, please don't. This thing is aggravating and it's best for newcomers to not really play this one. you can say I was just bad at this, play it yourself and then we'll talk. I'm calling it quits with this game right now, and I don't wanna keep continuing to suffer through this even more as of right now.
Not as good as 5, but still pretty fun if you have a second player. It's a real shame the RE series has abandoned the idea of Co-op.
Personally it isn't for me, I had other RE games and I didnt exactly enjoyed it since its more of an action based game rather than a lore and horror based one. Esp with Leon's campaign- at first I enjoyed it but eventually I got bored mid game, and the other campaigns were better but still kinda sad that they had less lore aspects but the fight scenes were cool
as much as i loved the game mechanics it was pretty frustrating for me to save my data- that sometimes I had to power through until there's a save ( ik its an old game and but cmon im allowed to speak my thoughts)
Awesome game with fun combat and great characters. It's interesting how different character stories overlap each other and you get to know what was going on from their perspective. Achievements could be better, but the overall experience is still great. 10/10!
Great game, I don't get the hate for it, sure it's more action-y , and imo the only scary parts were most of the Leon's campaign and parts of Jake's with Ustanak. But the gameplay is fun as hell, it's smooth it feels great, it looks pretty, it's amazing 10/10!
Now looking at it from the achievement side of view it was a typical Capcom classic where the achievement are just annoying needing to grind them (Looking at you, "Civilian Casualties" & "Take 'Em All Down").
To conclude , minus the DLC achievements, and overall achievements, it's a great game, especially since I played it with my friend, it was fun! 10/10
bought this game over a decade with my friend, we used to roleplay and we had hella fun. miss those great times
Jogo ruim demais, jesus cristo. O resident evil 5, do lado desse aí, é o melhor jogo já criado, ah joguinho miserável.
This is the worst resident evil game I ever played. I skipped it a long time ago because people said it didnt contriute to the story and that it was horrible. Well I decided to see for myself and man were they right. I finished leons campaign which was mediocre at best in 2 hours. then you have to complete the other 3 campaigns which are just different perspectives of the same conclusion which is so lazy. At the end of Chris campaign when your running on the platforms is literally impossible. the camera turns around the controls flip randomly and then you stop running. This game is a disgrace! 0/10 dont buy it just watch a playthorugh to know what happens!
How did they make it this bad... Leon was performing RKO on zeds like Randy Orton xd.
And the story? Leon's was a bit interesting (If I don't count the President's death. No one realy cared about that... Hunnigan suprised a bit, other than that they just ignored it. Which was realy strange.)
Other character's stories bore me a bit :/
And the mechanics and combat: I just didn't like it...
Shortly, it was a disappointment... No wonder they call it the worst game of franchise.
(Why I recommended it? Beacuse I don't like giving negative reviews and played 42h so...)
shit game
door cutscenes happen every second
partner ai is terrible
puzzles are shit
chris' campaign limits ammo when its a fucking action game
A game I disliked on release but grew very fond of over time. Despite hectic storytelling and major emphasis on action as opposed to atmosphere and horror, 6 is still a Resident Evil game through and through.
While peak games of this series are akin to well-made B-movies, RE6 is like a balls-to-the-wall action anime that takes itself very seriously and tries to stay somewhat grounded. And that's charming, even more so now as the franchise steered its way back to horror roots, leaving 6 as more of an outlier among mainline titles. It's dramatic, well-acted, long, and awesome. A great wrap-up for a second trilogy of games.
Doesn't hurt that it also looks decent, plays great, and has a full set of additional fun features such as invasions (Agent Hunt), series' best Mercenaries mode implementation, and immortal co-op that can be played offline in split-screen.
