Dog Sled Saga has a pick-up-and-play dogsled racing. Each dog's speed is hindered by hunger. Lob a limited supply of food to them to keep at full speed. Hazards on the track await.

Love this game. Easy mechanics, great visual experience, perfect for multitasking and just losing any sense of time and space.
Pros:
+ Cute dogs
+ Unique personalities and skill sets that you discover by competing in races
+ Unique likes, dislikes and preferences that affect your gameplay
+ Easy mechanics and controls
+ It's up to you to manage your team and decide when to qualify for the next league
+ Leagues get progressively more challenging
Cons:
- Story aspect is lackluster - once you complete the 12 achievements, that's basically it
- Not enough customization options - changing the color of the dogs' harnesses sure helps with telling them apart, but other than that, you only get to change the color of your sled
- No ending - the antagonist just gives up, you get no more dialogue after that, and it just feels unfinished
- I wanted to see what would happen if I left league 7 for a lower league to help level up some of my newer dogs and went bankrupt real fast
Overall, I will definitely be returning to this game and starting all over. I find great joy in getting to know the dogs I put on my team, collecting the best sponsorship options and setting up different team comps for different race difficulties.
What would make the game better?
+ Dog and character customization
+ More breeds and mixes, some only unlockable through breeding (E.g. Alaskan husky, Eurohound, Chinook, pointers and hounds, less traditional sled dog breeds)
+ More upgrades! (E.g. Buying more sponsorship slots or better equipment with money)
+ Story endings dependent on your own gameplay
+ Achievements for unique team comps (E.g. Only racing with one breed)
I so wish this game would get picked up again for an update or even a DLC, there's a lot of potential and options for improvement and the game is definitely one of a kind.
I think a review is due since this game is why I made a Steam account in the first place. The graphics are very charming and the gameplay is simple and easy to pick up. It's a bit repetitive, but it feels like a game you don't finish in one sitting. I would only recommend it if that doesn't bother you, but if it doesn't then I highly recommend it. It really holds up even though it's nearly a decade since release.

I quite like this game, I play it in my spare time and you can breed dogs and I love how they have perfered positions they like to be in like lead or wheel. I don't really have any negative things I can point out at the momment.
this game is very good. the beginning keeps you intreasted, working further the story gets even better. 10/10
one of my favorite games! every so often and i'll come back and revisit it to play through again with some sort of new self-imposed challenge. the gameplay can get repetitive but i find it overall very relaxing and i can easily sink a lot of time into perfecting my team. i just wish there was more content, and a hard mode. i can only hope that one day we'll get a dog sled saga 2!
i've played 100% of this game and i still don't understand how half of the mechanics work
This is gonna be my favourite game, I can tell. I highly recommend this game<3!!!
