In this realistic truck simulation, you have more than 6500 km of motorway and country roads at your disposal – including numerous detailed motorway interchanges. Get behind the steering wheel of a MAN TGX or Scania R Series and discover more than 15 German cities like Hamburg, Bremen, Cologne, Hannover, and Berlin, with unique road designs and sights. Additionally, numerous other points of interest are waiting to be discovered along your journey, as well.
The MAN and Scania trucks behave very realistically – including automatic transmissions, retarder/intarder, and assistance systems. From compact box bodies to semi-trailers and even gigaliners, you’ll have the right cargo volume available for every delivery order. Thanks to the Steam Workshop support, you can paint every vehicle and trailer as you desire.
On The Road also features an economic system. Found your own company and hire drivers so you can accept more orders. Plan your routes as efficiently as possible, but keep an eye on the mandatory rest times as well.

Ich habe das Spiel vor Jahren kurz nach dem Early Access gekauft und dachte mir: Okay, hat noch recht viele Bugs aber Potential. Aufgrund der dennoch hohen Masse an Bugs und fehlenden Funktionen habe ich das Spiel immer mal wieder nach diversen Updates erneut installiert und ausprobiert, sowie auch heute nach 2 Jahren. Was soll ich sagen..... ES HAT SICH NICHTS SINNVOLLES GETAN!! Es geht schon los mit einer Meldung, dass man einen neuen LKW "gewonnen" hätte. Diesen hat man auch in der Firma kann sich diesen aber nicht zuweisen, der steht nicht am "Hauptquartier" oder sonst irgendwo. Auch ein neuer Spielstand hat da keine Abhilfe geschaffen. Nunja dachte ich mir. Verkaufe ich den halt und versuche es neu: NEIN!!! VERKAUFEN GEHT NICHT!!! Warum?? Naja weil ein Anhänger dran ist... den bekommt man aber nicht ab und NEIN!!! man kann auch den Anhänger nicht verkaufen denn der hängt ja an der Zugmaschine... Wer denkt sich denn so einen S***** aus?
Ich kann von diesem Spiel nur abraten und hoffen, das nur wenige den gleichen Fehler gemacht haben wie ich!
Und wer jetzt noch denkt, dass das Spiel toll wäre: Es haben gerade einmal ca. 16% aller Spieler Level 1 erreicht... und nein man startet bei Level 0, nicht bei -100!
I have played offline for about 20 hours. Ryzen5 and 1660super. Plays great with T150 wheel. Steering is slower than normal and takes a bit to get used to. I even slowed the steering on Ets2 but the force feedback wouldn't work right. It is like having to turn the wheel 10% more, but i got used to it and like it. There is no virtual mirrors which i don't like. I like the small file size so it is easy to hotspot from my phone with my small data plan. The map is just Germany so i don't play that much at a time. It seems bigger. I even like the music. Once you figure out how to work the game there is no problem. Start truck, insert card, change to drive mode from rest mode, turn off brake, put in gear and go, when you get to destination go to office, then back up to spot, get out and open doors, close doors, and get another delivery. Force feedback is minimal. Graphics are fine being only 5 gb file size. It is a nice replacement since i can not download the 23gb file to update Ets2 and can not get any new dlc or free trucks. To bad for me. lol
Love the sim! Though, needs improvement in the loadout info. If you get cargo and select another to pick up nearby for efficiency, just how much can you load or too much? Needs to be refined. If you already got cargo and want to fill it up as much as possible in one city or another one nearby to multi drop/pick up to maximize profits that reflect your final destination that's farther, you need info on available space and/or weight so to pick one that meet it or have the list automatically narrow down availability that will fit when you select pickup in load option. Currently confusing, I get overload after I select it and move it up to pickup, I made sure it will fit on weight and/or size, but nope, paid a penelty to terminate newly selected load and choose another, so forth and so on until I find one that's ok, waste of money if you ask me. Hope to see improvements in the load to size and or weight info
