Laminar Research releases X-Plane 11.50 final
Laminar Research, creator of the X-Plane flight simulator franchise, is proud to announce the final Vulkan/Metal update of X-Plane 11. After many months of converting our graphics engine and beta testing, we are today announcing the final release of version 11.50 for the X-Plane desktop platform.
Vulkan (PC) and Metal (Mac) are rendering level APIs that change how X-Plane interacts with the graphics card. They are faster than OpenGL that X-Plane has used in the past. Overall, most users will see improved frame rates and reduced stutters when using Vulkan or Metal.
In X-Plane 11.50, there is a check-box in the graphics settings that enables Vulkan or Metal, and a restart of X-Plane is necessary for the change to take effect. If for some reason a user can’t use Vulkan or Metal, OpenGL is still available by simply unchecking the box.
Numerous bug fixes, enhancements, and new airports are also included in this release.

played it for so long and there are clearly a few bugs in it and sure its not as good as Xplane 12 but it dose do the job. I mean the garphics are decent and i wish i could say the same for the houses, and land. all in all its a great game if you want to get in into flight sims.
It won't even startup without crashing. I am well above minimum specs. I want a refund.
Very good game just unistalled to install MFS2024
most realistic sim for physics
Bought this and couldn't even get past the loading screen! My PC meets the recommendations, but it would always stop loading after "Done with pre-loading" and crash within a minute or two. If I even try to CLICK or press any buttons, the game crashes. I spent over $30 on this and I would really like to get a refund.
sucks crashes all the time dont hardly work with vr headset
Got this back when I was an IR student pilot to help prepare and practice at home and it served me really well! Now I'm using XPLN 11 to prepare for my simulator assessment for airline screening!

100% best game I've ever played. Best way to use my knowledge of aviation.
X-Plane 11 feels very realistic to me and is a very well developed simulation of its time. The graphics are not bad and they can be very decent in max settings. The crash effects may be the best than any other sim. Overall you can not dislike this game if you like aviation and roleplaying it as reality.
Very realistic and with few addons, it is perfect for flight sim.
You need at least 5 mods just to push back from the gate, the game looks worse than FSX and runs worse than msfs 2020. I rather play roblox because at least the game runs without having to install 30 mods. All addons for this game cost more than my pc + monitor combined. i beg please go fly in FSX
i love this game since it looks the same as mfs but cheaper and less demanding pc wise and the physics and graphics are great to

Great to learn procedures with, also to learn some of the systems akin to the real thing, checklist, etc. VFR is not great but still doable.
Super fun and realistic! One of the best flight sims I played. One downside is that, the DLC's don't work for me.

Unable to play with keyboard and mouse. Instructions are not clear. Cessna was unable to takeoff as there were no controls for the yoke.
The best game for starters simmers. No need for a high end pc, i reccomend it.

Wonderful game, would choose for MSFS
Impossible to play with a keyboard and mouse. Tried to use Steam-recognized PS4 controller. Game simply does not recognize it. End of playing for me. I don't understand. What a waste.

Gameplay experience
The overall gameplay experience is somewhat okey. The controls are difficult to understand and use and it’s generally moderately balanced. I can’t necessarily “slaughter” them for this, because you kind of expect it do be difficult. It’s a simulator, and it’s not supposed to be easy to fly a plane.
The game is monotonous which didn’t make me much interested and excited while playing the game. Some parts are fun, but it gets pretty much repetitive. Everything you do is somewhat meaningful, I guess, and so does rewards and progresses/milestones.
Presentation & Immersion
The game is average when it comes to presentation and being immersive. There is no story in the game, so it lacks something to play trough. The world feels moderately immersive and appealing. Sounds and music does also feel moderately engaging, and the HUD and in-game menus are pretty much user-friendly imo.
Design & Technical Aspects
X-Plane 11 does deliver when it comes to its design and technical aspects. I would say that game mechanics overall are excellently designed. The game has moderate content which almost limits the game a bit. The AI is very good and realistic, and the game settings are highly flexible. I’ve not suffered any technical issues or glitches.
Final Considerations
At the end of the day, X-plane is an alright game to play. I would say that I’m satisfied on a natural level. This is because, it’s cool to do some flights with take-offs and landing, but after a few flights it gets boring. There are no micro-transactions in this game. Even though it provides a low value when it comes to replay, I think the game’s price is sufficient for its value.
If you want to test it out for fun, go ahead, but I think I would mostly recommend this game to players who generally are interested in aircrafts and aviation.

Although X-plane 11 isn't the "best" flight sim out there, it works. I have spent many hours on this game, flying many different planes. If you cant afford a better flight sim, or don't have the right equipment, this one is perfect.

This is good game
very good but no airbus and few Cessna with a lack of multiplayer and would recommend xplane 12 if you have $100 (that i don’t t have) but overall a really y good flight sim for mac and other laptops that can’t run Microsoft flight sim.
