Let’s start with something simple yet frustrating: to play United Offensive, you need to have the original Call of Duty installed. I know, that might seem obvious now, but losing an hour in 2025 just figuring that out definitely got me into this expansion with some early irritation.
Once it finally launched, though, I have to admit — Call of Duty: United Offensive is surprisingly impressive. Even though it came out just a year after the original, the graphical leap is clear and quite decent for a 2004 title. It’s still very much old-school, of course, but that initial visual punch is there.
The story, just like in the base game, throws you into World War II from multiple perspectives: American, British, and Russian. But compared to the original, I felt less emotionally invested. Sure, some missions were genuinely well-made — intense, action-packed, well-paced — but others felt slapped together, frustrating, and at times straight-up unfair.
Speaking of frustration: let’s talk about that. In United Offensive, enemy soldiers feel like helmet-wearing Terminators, the guns sometimes shoot like they’re loaded with confetti, and the “normal” difficulty feels like something you unlock through a secret passage in hell. There were moments where I was cursing in every known language just trying to get through a single mission. But honestly? That’s exactly what I was looking for. That raw, unforgiving, brutal challenge only early Call of Duty titles seem to deliver.
Even though it doesn’t demand any advanced technical skill — no fancy movement, no perks, no min/max builds — United Offensive still pushes your patience and tests your ability to adapt under pressure. It’s gritty, it’s hard, and at times it’s flat-out unfair… but it’s also gloriously authentic.
gud
I wasn't hopping for much after CoD 1, but United Offensive set a bar even lower. I have never played this DLC before and wish I have never played.
Scripting is just really bad and almost always you need to go somewhere just to trigger something, otherwise evemies will be spawned indefinitely. But they rarely drop a good weapon and almost never a medkits.
Russian campaign is the worst of all. especially the last mission.
On the second mission where you have to follow Sgt.Moddy, he bugs out and will not move to the next position, i tried the fixes and none of them worked on a 3080. So there is a good chance it will bug out and you can't play the DLC.
New battles of WWII are in focus, improvements and additions of several mechanics and weapons. A good add-on, that expands on the base game - just like an expansion should be.
10/10 great WW2 history game expansion of cod 2003
Great
It's a good expansion that brings some improvements over Call of Duty 1, but I can't recommend it because of the price, even with a discount. This game should be priced at 4.99€ at maximum.
AWESOME GAME
The fact that an expansion pack for the first Call of Duty is better than Blacks Ops 6 is extremely sad
9/10
Really fun, old, game
Love the game and its reality.. first time comment on things but i love this. Thank you from my heart from a dude with PTSD..
This game along with the first game are the best Call of Duty games ever made by Activision! No other comments. If you know, you know.

7/10
Really good expansion the standout being the soviet missions as usual. The British ones outside of the bomber are still the weakest part but the american levels are straight from band of brothers. That and plus the new ability to be able to sprint make this one of the best cod titles.
I will ALWAYS play this Call of Duty before any of the newer ones. WW2 COD games SLLLLLLLLLLLLLAP!
10/10 <3<3<3<3
get this+base game+united fronts mod for one of the best single player world war 2 shooters of all time. other recommendation for ww2 shooters are call of duty 2 with the back 2 fronts mod, medal of honor allied assault warchest with the community launcher, Return to castle Wolfenstein with the RealRTCW mod, and the brothers in arms games the first 2 using the rendrocs warzone mod
Arguably the best of the old ww2 CoDs. It is Call of Duty 1, but with SPRINT (Yes, first time in the series) and more varied guns. The missions are awesome and hard.
One negative is that there may be too much and too long hold out mission segments, where it takes forever to defend a position. Other than that it's awesome, and varied, you have defend missions, clearing houses, airplane turret segment (where you move around in the plane), commando missions, tank segment, etc.
If you want more COD 1 play this, If you want a good WW2 shooter, play this, if you want a hard game play this. It's one of the best ww2 shooters of all time, and it's an Expansion.
It's a good expansion for the first Call of duty game. it introduces some new mechanics too. Graphics are the same, but missions feel a little repetative and are a whole lot harder then in the original game.
Great expansion and follow up to the first Call of Duty game
After playing what was almost a masterpiece (if not for the british), called Call of Duty (2003), I began my journey to its DLC. And BOY did this thing STINK! After a let down of an American side, and then a GLORIOUS BRITISH RETURN, I was then appalled about how bad they did my Russian boys. The train-yard will forever be engraved into my brain and I will from this day forward avoid any and ALL train-yards, I'll stick to driving passenger in a motorcycle.
more fun from cod 1
Какой смысл от новых компов если они не тянут такие простые игры
Great bonus missions.
Takes the original game and gives you more of it, but better. Cooler environments and variety of gameplay, more story, added sprint too which was nice. Took the war to Italy and Belgium which was cool.
Compared to the normal COD , i would not recommend this. Missions drags on, to many (protect this dude from dying) missions. I got killed more by my allies tanks that drives over me than anything else. Alot of mission has unplayable bugs. 4/10
The best
Absolute master piece. Story 10/10 and multiplayer 10/10. It has still people playing it.
If you like the original COD its basically more of the same. The biggest difference is the mission length. This game is very short with only 13 missions but the missions are much longer here than in the original COD. The campaign is split up into three mini campaigns much like the original cod (American, British then finally Russian). The American campaign is rather forgettable. The British campaign is simply outstanding, some of the best missions I've ever played in any COD (as of 2025 I've played through them all). There's only three British missions but those alone make this expansion pack worth the price of emission. The game falls apart during the Russian campaign. While the missions themselves are fine, the sheer difficulty of them is straight unfair. Between the endless spawning enemies and how they'll randomly have professional counter-strike player accuracy, the last few missions will at times feel unbeatable. I would recommend to just quit playing the game after the British missions. If you do wish to play through this game I would highly recommend playing on normal difficulty. This normal difficulty felt like current COD veteran difficulty.
There is a small amount of people able to be found playing online. All the active servers though are modded servers and I was not able to find any active servers that would of been like the servers found when the game was released.
I would rate the game a 6/10. Would of been higher but the difficulty can be insane at time. Its not a challenging type of difficulty its just simply frustrating.
Not bad.
Great expansion and follow up to the first Call of Duty game, full of epic set pieces and battles that almost top that of the main game.
Not good as like Cod I and II but there are so many new tasks. if you like hard challenge, here take this one .
Call of Duty (2003) 2.0. Enjoyable, yet somewhat more difficult. A good game overall, it improves the aspects from COD1 that could have been improved.
Great game, amazing fun, worked well on windows 11 and didn't need call of duty installed either to play, clearly no multiplayer its dead clearly.
Played it and completed it on easy, normal and hard, hard difficulty felt unbalanced to me but stick with it and it is doable but bit frustrating, call of duty hard was much better balanced, but as its like insane hard felt great to complete it even with some frustration.
Great fun def recommend at time of review.
:)
6/10
This is basically a less polished, more tedious DLC for the base game. Not much new is added, except things like the plane combat section which is way too long. Hate the escort and waiting for reinforcements missions.❤️
Good game, might have slightly preferred the first. They bumped up the challenge in this one and made missions longer (which made Veteran that much harder). Last mission on Veteran one of the hardest things I've done in a video game
:()
Great throwback!
A good expansion for a great FPS, not much else can be said really.
Best game ever!!!! still playing it at 2025 and still rocks!
orijinalinden daha iyi
Great game :D
It hasn't aged very well, but it's still good, storywise.
The bomber level is still my single favorite video game level of all time. Is that largely from nostalgia and nothing else? Who's to say. Still love this Xpac more than the original game. This is what CoD should have always been.
its the same as cod 1 but a lot harder 4/10
da GOAT
This game is a classic CoD game. It was one of the first video games I played on my old Dell.
