- The #1 WWII shooter development team returns with an amazing new experience: Developed by Infinity Ward, creators of the award-winning Call of Duty. All-new, unprecedented enhancements from stunningly realistic graphics to seamless gameplay, thanks to the revolutionary COD2 engine, groundbreaking AI, and choice-based gameplay innovations. Beautifully rendered snow, rain, fog, and smoke, combined with dynamic lighting and shadows, make this the most intense WWII shooter yet.
- New conflicts and enemies to face: Call of Duty 2 brings you bigger battles, with more tanks, troops, and explosions on-screen, and bigger scope, with a wide range of locales and environments across the European Theater. Fight "The Desert Fox" across the scorching sands of North Africa as wave upon wave of tanks clash in the desert. Use rocket-propelled grappling hooks alongside your Army Ranger squad to storm and scale the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc against a relentless German counterassault, and slog through urban chaos as a tank hunter in war-torn Russia.
- Rely on your squad as never before: The dozens of Allied soldiers surrounding you are fully aware of the changing situations around them, and will let you know using an all-new, context-sensitive battle chatter system. They will draw enemy fire, lay down cover for you, use foxholes and moving tanks for cover, and warn you of incoming enemy troops and hostile fire.
- Choice-based gameplay: Play through missions in the order you see fit. Will you decide to play first as a sniper or as a tank commander? It's your call. Open-ended battlefields allow you to individualize your tactics and choose the order in which you complete your objectives.
- Multiplayer Mayhem: Go online for intense Axis vs. Allies team-based multiplayer action, building on the hugely popular Call of Duty multiplayer modes.

Childhood memories
Peak CoD, You should buy, and ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY download "Back2Fronts" for this, it makes it even better.
This is a classic FPS game that continue the COD franchise. It is a great game to buy.
Fully recommended. I've beaten this through a couple of times over the years, both on XBOX 360 and PC. If you choose the latter then you should install the 'BACK2FRONTS' mod for extra missions, weapons, and a brief German campaign. The 360 version works on Series X, and has a couple of bonus missions, but the BACK2FRONTS mod adds these to the PC version too.
If you like the old-school CODS then this game is for you. My only complaints would be that there are too many enemies with automatic weapons, and along with the super fast-paced, non-tactical gameplay and constant enemy respawns; this can sometimes ruin the immersion and create random spikes in difficulty. A great game overall to switch on after a tough day at work and blow off some steam.
BORN TO DIE
EUROPE IS A FUCK
Kill Em All 1944
I am Kommunisten
410,757,864,530 DEAD NAZIS
Classic, I remember non stop playing the Xbox 360 demo when I was younger.
Plays great on Steam Deck 10/10 Get in the singleplayer campaign for one last time for this old friend. It's a PC classic, legendary game, the memories are still there. The cojones are so big on this one that it speaks for itself. Massive aura, can never be replicated again ever, defined a timeframe of some people's lives. It still lives inside some of us and will continue to live forever. This one will never die
its a great game
It's been close to 20 years since Call of Duty 2 released. I was working at EB Games and this game was on display and available to try out for the customers. The evenings were often dead, and I would spend much of that time working my way through this game, often in awe at the impressive gameplay, visuals and scripted events throughout the campaign. The action is intense and the sound effects really added to the immersion of fighting for our lives as either American, British or Soviet soldiers. The allied and enemy AI were quite advanced for the time, adding to the excitement of getting through a level. I replayed this game recently and it still holds up as one of my favourite Call of Duty games.
Completed it in Veteran, I gotta say it was harder than Call Of Duty World At War but really cool.
GREAT GAME EVER
It's still worth it doesn't matter what people say, this CoD is from the times where CoD itself wasn't dogwater
MACGREGOR! Nuff said :)
killing japanese people is fun
What I like about this game other than being a classic, it was a golden age for WW2 games, they were all good. Even though the graphics are lacking and all the fancy effects and such we have in games today, this game still manages to be fairly intense. Back in the day it was epic, now it's a classic. I enjoy it now just as much as I did then. Granted even back then... Battlefield was better BF4LIFE! lol
The good old golden days when Call of Duty was all about skill and teamwork. Not like today's rainbow F2P ways to fleece players out of money. Thousands of hours on xfire, Team Speak and HLSW with clan mates during CBs, FWs, NCs and DMs training sessions.
Along with CoD4 there is no better mp experience in the series. I miss those times on mp_burgundy and mp_toujane.
*in Kratos' voice* ACTIVISION, LAUNCH CALL OF DUTY 3 ON STEAM AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!
Was worth the price before they raised it, looks great in 4k. runs great on windows 10. would give a thumbs up but activision doesnt deserve it
This is a fantastic sequel. The visuals are stellar. The writing is good. The action sequences are cinematic while leaving the player largely in control. Plus, you get a nice little movie during the credits about some soldiers saving Capt. Price.
My only complaint is that the guns don't feel right. You can shoot someone several times and they don't go down. The aiming also feels off a lot of the time. It's not insufferable but there are definitely moments where it caused a couple of deaths that wouldn't have happened otherwise.
First T rated game I ever played, I always come back to play the Campaign every now and then. Love this game.
Great game, nicely made and very easy to play
The first military FPS game I was ever allowed to play as a kiddo. Following Sergeant Randall and Braeburn into MG42 fire never got old. Even now, the campaign for this game rivals most I've played in this genre. Most of the people my age have never played or even heard of this game. An oldy, but sure as hell a goody.
good game :)
health regens :D
still can't shoot through wood >:(
I had fun.
Great Game
Cod hasn't changed gameplay-wise since this game, still holds up. Spent too much time playing campaign on veteran.
very good
Best competitive FPS of all time. They don't make em like this these days. Wish there were some purist devs out there to pay homage to this classic.
Game keeps crashing at the activision screen as of October 4th, 2024 - gameplay and campaign are fine and fun, just wish it didn't crash so I can finish the game
Pretty clean for its time. Heavily enjoyable and thought the weapons felt good to use; was kind of addicted.
What can be said. Yes, not COD 1. But we all know this to be the OG. When boys became men.
Love the campaign, weapons and historical footage! Definitely my favorite WW2 COD! If you own a PC and love first person military games please pick this up! You won't regret it! It also runs good on my PC RTX 4070 Super with a Ryzen 7 7000X3D
Call of Duty 2 is the best WW2 game in my opinion. I always liked we get to see some of the Africa campagin as well in this one through the British side and the U.S. Army Rangers missions are my favorite in all of the WW2 CODs.
IT'S old and Gold for sure, the atmosphere of the game cannot be described. It is better than the first COD and the expansion, for sure, but it is short and ends quickly.
One of the best COD games ever made. it's 2024 and if I had to order my cod games by best 4 it would go like this.
1. Cod 1.
2. Cod 1 United Offensive
3. Cod 2
3. Cod 4
The only thing the first 3 COD games need is texture backs or 1:1 remakes with modern graphics and nothing else changed. My ranking is not based on Multiplayer experience. Best Multiplayer cod games are:
COD: MW2
COD: WAW
COD: MW1
Classic COD. Some of the best early console games I ever played. And this one really got the ball rolling on the future of the franchise.
Follows the winning formula from the original Call of Duty and refines and polishes the experience.
Classic Call of Duty! This was the first COD I played and is still my favourite. Give it a try!
the game is so good that activision should remaster this game
CoD 2 Veteran difficulty, where fat Germans in D-Day were more competent than the 6th Army in Stalingrad.
Fun game, has its moments where you had to do just what they want but for the most part you have what feels like options to finish missions instead of following a linear plot. Great replayability
Call Of Duty 2 is developed by Infinity Ward and released in 2005.
It is the second major installment in the franchise, released two years after the first.
This second opus is faithful to its predecessor, and features three campaigns set during the Second World War.
The Soviets, the British and the Americans are playable in very different but equally apocalyptic settings.
Your war journey will be the most heroic and brutal yet.
During the Russian campaign, you'll take on the role of soldier Vasili Koslov of the 13th Red Army Rifle Division.
You'll have to defend glorious Soviet Russia against the relentless onslaught of the Wehrmacht.
In addition to the Russian cold, the Germans will face the formidable Soviet army, inexperienced and ill-equipped, but valiant and ruthless.
You'll take part in the merciless Battle of Stalingrad to liberate the country from the Germans by advancing eastwards.
Glory to the Motherland and Comrade Stalin!
In the British campaign, you'll play Sergeant John Davis of the 7th Armored Division.
You'll have to survive the terrible "Desert War",
fighting against the Afrikakorps troops of General Rommel.
In addition to the great Battle of El Alamein in Egypt,
the "Desert Rats" will fight the Germans in Libya and even Tunisia.
Finally, in the American campaign, you'll be Corporal Bill Taylor of the 2nd Ranger Battalion.
After surviving the D-Day in Normandy,
you'll have to reconquer France, then push the Wehrmacht back to Germany,
scene of the appalling Battle of Hill 400...
Taking on Nazi Germany's dreaded Wehrmacht is no easy task.
You'll need to complete a number of objectives in order to weaken the Third Reich.
For example, you will have to blow up tanks with explosive charges,
exterminate waves of enemies with a sniper rifle or a machine gun,
hold a siege while awaiting reinforcements,
destroy fuel and ammunition depots,
find strategic enemy documents,
fight from a tank or the turret of an armoured vehicle,
combat the Luftwaffe with a Flakvierling...
The campaigns are very well made, but leave a taste of unfinished business, as if each one lacked a grand finale.
COD2 marks the return of the charismatic Captain Price, who will be seen again in Modern Warfare.
A certain Miller is also on board, and will be seen again in World At War.
The allies include a man named Weaver, like in Black Ops.
There's even a fighter by the name of Pearson, as in COD WWII.
The soldiers West & Zampella are an obvious reference to the co-founders of Infinity Ward.
Weapons suffer from a much more pronounced recoil than in previous games, but this in no way detracts from the thrill of shooting, which is as exhilarating as ever.
A minor drawback, however, is that when you're being shot at, the character you're playing is systematically aiming too high in the air, making it difficult to shoot back.
COD2 features a wide range of period weapons.
Several rifles can be used, some with scopes: Kar98k, Mosin Nagant, SVT40, Gewehr 43, Lee Enfield, Springfield, M1 Garand, BAR, M1A1, Bren...
You'll need to hold your breath when using Sniper Rifles to aim as accurately as possible, rather like Sniper Elite.
A number of secondary weapons are also included, making them ideal for indoor combat: PPSh-41, PPS-42, MP40, MP44, Thompson, Sten.
COD2 is more beautiful, spectacular and scripted than its predecessors.
The game's atmosphere is breathtaking,
and brings to life the atrocity of the Second World War with panache.
The music is very typical of the period, but is sparse and emphasizes moments of bravery and victory.
The actor who voices the soldiers deserves an Oscar for his dedication to the role, and for his insane voice.
This second COD is full of small improvements:
enemies can be seen on the compass, and a grenade indicator makes it easier to spot them.
Unfortunately, however, it is not possible to throw back enemy grenades,
which would be very practical, given the Krauts' penchant for throwing them with surgical precision.
Allied soldiers, on the other hand, can return grenades to the sender.
If you're playing on Veteran difficulty, your patience will be sorely tested.
Some sequences are insanely difficult, beyond the point of absurdity,
making COD2 one of the most difficult games in the franchise,
alongside World At War and COD MWII 2022.
Progress is slow, the Germans are numerous, they react quickly, aim well and are very tough on the battlefield.
The fact that you can't save manually further complicates the task, and the auto-regeneration of health just makes the game playable.
Call Of Duty 2 is an excellent war game, almost as good as its predecessor.
It is, however, less realistic and much more brutal and action-oriented than the first game.
Beware of its high difficulty, which may put off inexperienced players.
good
this is the best call of duty ever period.
Great game, I played it with great satisfaction many years, I still play it with great pleasure now. I show it to my son, he loves it too.
the best cod of all time
It's a great game. Still holds up pretty well.
The best COD game.
Well, I still remember playing this game for the first time when I was 9/10 years old... The difficulty I had in understanding and how hard it was to advance to the next level. I'll never forget the level where I had to destroy the mortars and didn't know how!
Nowadays, at 28, I reinstall the game and have fond memories, of being a child and of how well-made a game was. The missions, the weapons, the level of understanding required, the storytelling, incredible. It will always be a core memory for me
Terrible gameplay (who comes to a game from 2004 for that?) but for anyone who wants to play a good historical game, this is one of the better COD titles
