- The #1 WWII shooter development team returns with an amazing new experience: Developed by Infinity Ward, creators of the award-winning Call of Duty. All-new, unprecedented enhancements from stunningly realistic graphics to seamless gameplay, thanks to the revolutionary COD2 engine, groundbreaking AI, and choice-based gameplay innovations. Beautifully rendered snow, rain, fog, and smoke, combined with dynamic lighting and shadows, make this the most intense WWII shooter yet.
- New conflicts and enemies to face: Call of Duty 2 brings you bigger battles, with more tanks, troops, and explosions on-screen, and bigger scope, with a wide range of locales and environments across the European Theater. Fight "The Desert Fox" across the scorching sands of North Africa as wave upon wave of tanks clash in the desert. Use rocket-propelled grappling hooks alongside your Army Ranger squad to storm and scale the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc against a relentless German counterassault, and slog through urban chaos as a tank hunter in war-torn Russia.
- Rely on your squad as never before: The dozens of Allied soldiers surrounding you are fully aware of the changing situations around them, and will let you know using an all-new, context-sensitive battle chatter system. They will draw enemy fire, lay down cover for you, use foxholes and moving tanks for cover, and warn you of incoming enemy troops and hostile fire.
- Choice-based gameplay: Play through missions in the order you see fit. Will you decide to play first as a sniper or as a tank commander? It's your call. Open-ended battlefields allow you to individualize your tactics and choose the order in which you complete your objectives.
- Multiplayer Mayhem: Go online for intense Axis vs. Allies team-based multiplayer action, building on the hugely popular Call of Duty multiplayer modes.

campaign is very fun however if you play multiplayer its all hackers.
Excellent game and one of the best WWII shooters as well. Classic FPS action, no gimmick levels or season passes or DLC you just shoot Nazis and that's it. Also works fine on Windows 11. 10/10
one of the best game in all history
nice
Huge Improvement to the original game Imo. This game Is one of the more underrated games In the entire franchise Imo. Yes I get this still your average WW2 fps, you still can't sprint or throw back grenades yet, but still Is a very fun and awesome game to play. The guns, the enemies, and missions are all very well put together and can be very tense In a lot of areas. Other than some small nit picks and out of all the first 3 cod games, this one Is probably my favorite one. not my favorite cod game, but some of my favorites in the series.
If you did not yet play this game . Probably you lost many things . in the history of games a history game. Excellent game . but i think Cod 1 is better just on my opinion.
Even in 2025, this game it's much better and fun than vanguard, modern warfare III and black ops 6.
though prone to raise aggression at its various missions but retains its entertainment value
6/10
It's fun but imo a step down from COD 1. I hate the spongy enemies and how there's 4-5 of the same 'liberate town then defend town' missions. Not as much mission variety and fewer memorable moments. Although there's clear improvements like checkpoints and regenerative health.kept crashing
zero cringe yy controller holding hands virgins
this game was even BETTER than cod 1. the graphics were so much better then cod 1. the missions were better, and had zero solo missions unlike cod 1's 3 solo missions. there were a large variety of weapons, like the gewer 43, and the MG-42 was not the only MG
Call of Duty peaked here
Over the years, I have replayed the classics CoD games many times, and all of them hold up pretty well, but especially CoD2 and WaW, I was never big on the Multiplayer before the OG MW, but the campaigns were the top!
A must try for FPS campaign fans imho.
You are drawn into a narrative, a story-line that pulls you along. You are an individual soldier, but who's pathway lies alongside that of his/her comrades.
Great classical WWII FPS shooter hoping for a modern remake...
this is the free bird of ww2 cod games
Shoot ZEGermans in ZEface and thats it. Classic game.
Ah... the good old days, when COD was good!
The graphics are a major improvement from CoD 1 (I played them back to back-ish, so the memory is fresh). I especially adored the rain in one of the levels, and the sunsets look beautiful.
Only negative I can think of is that scrolling to change weapons didn't work for me, so I had to press the buttons myself.
Edit: Actually. I think CoD 2 pulled a United Offensive and had infinitely respawning enemies. But it didn't feel too oppressive, because they would usually stop respawning once you reached their building.
I remember playing on the Xbox 360 when I was so young and loved it, playing it again is just amazing, 2 DECADES old yet this game holds up phenomenally. This and World At War were, not only some of the best CoD games, but the best fps games ever
Back when call of duty was pretty cool, pew pew.
In my opinion these game had a great graphics improvement, but compared to all the things they added on United Offensive ( COD 1 Expansion Pack ), I miss too many things in these one, like: Sprint movement, Healing, also in Multiplayer they went so back when they already had Rank Up system, BAS gamemode with tanks and big maps, and much more gamemodes.
for some reason i always return to this game it was one of the first video games i ever played a decade and a half ago and i still like it , Honesty i think it still stands as a good game till now.
Not the full original single player game. I estimate only about one third of the original missions. Really dissapointed.
Pretty good. I hope it gets a sequel.
The start of the Xbox 360/PS3 Golden Age
Call of Duty 2 is what, in my mind, cemented the Call of Duty franchise into history. COD2 massively improves upon just about everything from the older games and it still holds up incredibly well. The graphics, weapon animations and motion captured animations are still impressive for a game from 2005. Keep in mind that this released after Half-Life 2 so to be able to survive that is a major achievement.
The Russian and American campaigns are gold with the British campaign being a lot less interesting. The Russian campaign is the highlight to me as I feel like the setting, minor narrative parts and level design is peak, however the American campaign is also a strong contender. The British campaign suffers in level design and is the least visually interesting, you end up fighting in a lot of barren sandy streets. Compared to the other 2 campaigns the British one doesn't hold up at all, its almost as if they ran out of time.
Call of Duty 2 is not just visually impressive, the gameplay is all there and the almost open-ended level design is amazing for the time. The D-Day mission still stands as one of the best in all of gaming due to it being so open, while it certainly has scripted sequences, once you reach the top of the cliff you're more or less free to go in any direction and into any trench to avoid the artillery. The ally and enemy NPCs actually fight each other and can die from just about anything. Allied NPCs really add a lot to the atmosphere and always existed to make you feel less like a one man army (even though you are). COD2s open-ended level design and freedom is what really stands out, there are numerous points where the levels open up, allowing you to flank and not telling you exactly where to go, this is something that not even Call of Duty: World at War managed to achieve. Every weapon in the game is useful and utilised, even the smoke grenades.
Overall, this is absolutely worth playing, obviously its aged but no where near to a point where its not enjoyable.
Fantastic campaign and great graphics for 2005. This game is a classic
10/10 Legendary game
good game improved upon the first one. although the grenade spam on veteran difficulty is a pain to deal with
Call of Duty 2 - A Classic Shooter with Explosive Memories (10/10)
Call of Duty The game that took us to the frontlines of World War II, where every grenade felt personal, and every bullet sounded like a symphony of chaos. The gameplay is pure, unadulterated action, with tight controls, iconic maps, and combat so intense it’ll have you yelling “Grenade!” even in your sleep.
And the music? It's like a military march right into your nostalgic heart. Every epic moment is backed by a soundtrack that gets you pumped up, whether you're storming Omaha Beach or taking cover behind a barrel. It’s the kind of game where you’ll hear the music in your head for days (and maybe get PTSD from the constant explosions).
Now, speaking of memories. Call of Duty 2 will forever be tied to Renáta , my ex-girlfriend (who, despite us not being together anymore, I’ll always remember fondly). She was a force of nature in PvP, yelling at enemies like they could hear her across the screen. We may have broken up, but I’ll always cherish the times she took out entire squads while muttering something about "noobs" under her breath. Ah, memories… and enemies that didn’t stand a chance.
10/10. Classic gameplay, explosive moments, and memories that’ll last longer than your killstreaks. Get ready to dive in and maybe yell at some enemies yourself.
A great game that set a formula CoD refused to break for over a decade.
It's a pity we'll probably never see CoD 3 on PC.
It's a miracle the Allies managed to win the war seeing as the Germans apparently evolved the ability to absorb .30-06 bullets to the head and pull live grenades out of their rear.
It's one of the most frustrating of the earlier CoD games but also has some very iconic moments. Still runs great on modern hardware.
Absolute Banger, being the second cod graphics are dated and the story is nothing to write home about, but something about this game is so reeling each mission just feels fun to play.
I love this game, i finished the game on my Xbox one and 360, but this is better!
A little formulaic/repetitive, but a decent FPS game; it could've been even better with STEAM WORKSHOP support, for Mods etc.
the fact you can scale this game to modern resolutions and refresh rates is incredible, no 3rd party patches or tweaks. props to the dev team.. they really did it right back in the day , infinity ward broke off from the Medal of Honor team which pushed boundaries also.
Better than most of the new ones
Great game! Except for the lag because it's an old game.
The TTK is still a bit off but this starts resembling modern call of duty.
So many good memories with this game. One of the best (if not the best) WWII shooters out there, especially ambient wise. If any game deserves a modern visuals remake it's this one.
Game is pretty good, Graphics are bad but expected for an old game. Most missions are fun. Only problem is in the American campaign. It's just the same thing over and over. I'd say it's a good game.
A certified hood classic!
The first game that I played on my first gaming PC, still one of my favourites 20 years later. It took a little effort to get working on Windows 11, but well worth it.
Don't risk playing online multiplayer, it could be dangerous for your PC.
If your game keeps crashing on startup, close Rivatuner or similar apps that manipulate frames.
Run the game in Windows XP compatibility mode, and if the game only renders a black screen when loading into a mission, change the settings to use DirectX 7.
My system plays the game perfectly, running Windows 11 Home 64bit, Ryzen AM5, DDR5 memory and a RX 6000 GPU on the latest drivers as on 2024/12/23.
love this old nostalgic game. i wish they made games like these once again.
This game is very simga I would play again for sure
This game brings back so much nostalgia. The campaign is a classic. I played HOURS of this game back when Xfire was a thing. I got back on this game a couple weeks ago and seen multiplayer servers were still around. Most my time as a kid, my hours in this game were spent on modded sniper servers. I was glad to see there was still one around and is decently populated at times. 10-20 people at times. So when I don't feel like playing anything, or am just bored and want to chill, I just hop on the sniper server and spend 30 minutes or so just reliving the good simpler times.
This was my first cod game ever. My uncle had the disk set and let me play it on thanksgiving
Tavsiye etmem. Dedelere kolay gelsin
Final Score: 85/100
An overall more polished version than its predecessor. I give it a slightly lower score due to technical hiccups, some pacing issues, and some inconsistent AI. But make no mistake: this game was a hit back in 2005 for a reason. It is a phenomenal simulator of war and a great historical tribute to WWII, and the improved controls, regenerating health, and grenade indicator all make for great quality-of-life improvements over the already wonderful first game.
