So many good memories with this game. One of the best (if not the best) WWII shooters out there, especially ambient wise. If any game deserves a modern visuals remake it's this one.

Game is pretty good, Graphics are bad but expected for an old game. Most missions are fun. Only problem is in the American campaign. It's just the same thing over and over. I'd say it's a good game.

A certified hood classic!

The first game that I played on my first gaming PC, still one of my favourites 20 years later. It took a little effort to get working on Windows 11, but well worth it.

Don't risk playing online multiplayer, it could be dangerous for your PC.

If your game keeps crashing on startup, close Rivatuner or similar apps that manipulate frames.
Run the game in Windows XP compatibility mode, and if the game only renders a black screen when loading into a mission, change the settings to use DirectX 7.

My system plays the game perfectly, running Windows 11 Home 64bit, Ryzen AM5, DDR5 memory and a RX 6000 GPU on the latest drivers as on 2024/12/23.

This game brings back so much nostalgia. The campaign is a classic. I played HOURS of this game back when Xfire was a thing. I got back on this game a couple weeks ago and seen multiplayer servers were still around. Most my time as a kid, my hours in this game were spent on modded sniper servers. I was glad to see there was still one around and is decently populated at times. 10-20 people at times. So when I don't feel like playing anything, or am just bored and want to chill, I just hop on the sniper server and spend 30 minutes or so just reliving the good simpler times.

An overall more polished version than its predecessor. I give it a slightly lower score due to technical hiccups, some pacing issues, and some inconsistent AI. But make no mistake: this game was a hit back in 2005 for a reason. It is a phenomenal simulator of war and a great historical tribute to WWII, and the improved controls, regenerating health, and grenade indicator all make for great quality-of-life improvements over the already wonderful first game.

Fantastic sequel to the already great CoD 1. Besides improving on all the aspects of the first game, it also introduced regenerating health to the series, which allows the missions to be packed with fast paced back to back action sequences. My only issue with this game is its german version. While I was able to change the language in CoD 1 to english, my quest to do the same with this game failed miserably.

I miss 2006, I miss 800x600 resolution, I miss 60 HZ LCD monitors, I miss endless Friday nights on teamspeak learning nades, I miss finding matches on mIRC, I miss quality games requiring skill, I miss trashtalking enemies and buggy punkbuster, I miss always searching for the best config....FUCK.... :(

Still good, many of the features in later games are in this one. Works great on a steam deck connected to an external wide display - in desktop mode.

I love this game so much,. I think it's the 2nd best WW2 game ever only beaten by World at War. However there is no excuse for this game to be $19.99 today. Doom (2016), Batman: Arkham Knight, Sonic Mania, and Valheim came out way after 2005 and they're all the same price. If they fix the price (they won't) I edit the review and give this great game the true praise it deserves.

I don't like this game. It was the first COD game that implemented health regeneration. As a result of that, the game just keeps spamming enemies, and all those enemies just keep your spamming you with grenades. If this sounds familiar, you probably played COD4 or COD5. But given that this is the first title where this was implemented, it's essentially cranked up to the max (maybe due to inexperience or novelty of it).

This and WaW are arguably one of the greatest WW2 games ever made, you never truly feel heroic rather your just another COG in the machine.

Peak CoD, You should buy, and ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY download "Back2Fronts" for this, it makes it even better.

This is a classic FPS game that continue the COD franchise. It is a great game to buy.

Fully recommended. I've beaten this through a couple of times over the years, both on XBOX 360 and PC. If you choose the latter then you should install the 'BACK2FRONTS' mod for extra missions, weapons, and a brief German campaign. The 360 version works on Series X, and has a couple of bonus missions, but the BACK2FRONTS mod adds these to the PC version too.

If you like the old-school CODS then this game is for you. My only complaints would be that there are too many enemies with automatic weapons, and along with the super fast-paced, non-tactical gameplay and constant enemy respawns; this can sometimes ruin the immersion and create random spikes in difficulty. A great game overall to switch on after a tough day at work and blow off some steam.

Classic, I remember non stop playing the Xbox 360 demo when I was younger.

Plays great on Steam Deck 10/10 Get in the singleplayer campaign for one last time for this old friend. It's a PC classic, legendary game, the memories are still there. The cojones are so big on this one that it speaks for itself. Massive aura, can never be replicated again ever, defined a timeframe of some people's lives. It still lives inside some of us and will continue to live forever. This one will never die

its a great game

It's been close to 20 years since Call of Duty 2 released. I was working at EB Games and this game was on display and available to try out for the customers. The evenings were often dead, and I would spend much of that time working my way through this game, often in awe at the impressive gameplay, visuals and scripted events throughout the campaign. The action is intense and the sound effects really added to the immersion of fighting for our lives as either American, British or Soviet soldiers. The allied and enemy AI were quite advanced for the time, adding to the excitement of getting through a level. I replayed this game recently and it still holds up as one of my favourite Call of Duty games.

Completed it in Veteran, I gotta say it was harder than Call Of Duty World At War but really cool.

What I like about this game other than being a classic, it was a golden age for WW2 games, they were all good. Even though the graphics are lacking and all the fancy effects and such we have in games today, this game still manages to be fairly intense. Back in the day it was epic, now it's a classic. I enjoy it now just as much as I did then. Granted even back then... Battlefield was better BF4LIFE! lol

The good old golden days when Call of Duty was all about skill and teamwork. Not like today's rainbow F2P ways to fleece players out of money. Thousands of hours on xfire, Team Speak and HLSW with clan mates during CBs, FWs, NCs and DMs training sessions.

Along with CoD4 there is no better mp experience in the series. I miss those times on mp_burgundy and mp_toujane.
