I bought this game do to nostalgia, but now after 13 hours and 100% i think it aged horribly. Controls are stiff and half of time you are fighting with games systems. It conststantly has problems with stability and crashes after 4 hours. Visuals still hold up, but do to how game wants you to control towers because of AI having limited range on towers and limited build slots and this game is pure imbalanced mess on both campagins.
I dont recomend it.

Really fun tower defence game. you can take control of the units and very relaxing. i like to just watch youtube and chill to this game.
The bloom looks atrocious and hurts my eyes
The towers don't shoot sometimes, and especially the anti aircraft. At the Zeppelin boss, my anti aircraft were not shooting it, causing me to take control. However, this also caused me to lose because I was not paying attention to my toybox health and how much I needed to check on my towers. Not how I remember it from xbox, where I could complete the whole thing without having to take control at all. Also, for having such a good soundtrack, the game for some reason doesn't want to play it. The audio keeps bugging out, leading to the music not playing sometimes. Would not recommend, coming from someone who played this when it came out and had a blast.

My childhood game
An absolute classic! i used to love playing tscw on my xbox 360 when i was younger, being able to relive my childhood memories in this 2 for 1 bundle just pumps a fat o'l load of dopamine into my brain, i insist that more people check this game out, it is awesome

Damn fine game. Its the same as you remember it. BUT, if you never played the dlc, it has all of it.

Toy Soldiers: Complete, though thematic and witty, is nothing more than a console port that should have never reached Windows computers. Sure, the PC version has some changes to add some flavor, but overall, the content within this product is thin and the development team attempted to stretch such content by providing players with campaigns with slight differences in terrain, props, and turret placements. Other than that, the first thirty minutes of gameplay and the next thirty minutes of gameplay will leave players indifferent or fatigued due to how uninspired the level design is in terms of functionality. The only incentives to continue playing are high scores and achievements, which most players will not be satisfied with as most people value satisfactory entertainment over arbitrary, optional challenges.
Technically speaking, many levels have props, walls, and enemies that lack collision, so player-controlled vehicles may find themselves phasing through said objects almost on a regular basis. Truth is, this game lacks sufficient polishing to the point where some end-stage bosses will experience some error in their code, stop dead in their tracks, and allow players to destroy them comfortably without fear of defeat or resistance.
Some developers, especially those with prior experience in mobile and console gaming, have issues with letting sleeping dogs lie. In other words, they milk their products to death with little consideration for quality assurance or assessing relevancy for that matter.
Great soundtrack and an overall fun time.
Last time I play this game, I was 9 and life was good 3 AA Tower/10 Actually this game is sucks I just don't understand it when I was a child. I want my childhood back.
Classic game that I loved back on Xbox. It worked years ago on my older PC, but as of now it no longer works on my new PC. Sad because i wanted to revisit an older game i had a lot of fun with.
The Devs also said they could not fix the crashing with some newer CPUs :(
playing this makes me sad. its a fun game don't get me wrong but it sucks when this is really the only way to play this series anymore after the delisting. it hurts even more when Signal studios has gone radio silent and is probably gone. i hate that this reminds me of good times because then i remember what ubisoft did to signal
well it was enjoyable to play again it was not as fun as I remember the balancing feels all over the place from a casual easy run through to losing turrets left and right although I really did enjoy it I almost wish there was more the Infantry is kind of pointless making the anti-infantry turrets kind of useless after a while and mostly only using anti-tank turrets mostly making it feeling quite repetitive the anti-aircraft guns we're kind of useless upgrading them made them feel worse I wish there was more love for this game get a sequel improved a lot of the problems with this game like having more of a back and forth and different objectives other than just Defending Your toy box like being attacker instead of the defender and so on it was a bit buggy but nothing too bad I can understand why this guy I'm never took off never got a sequel after Cold War hopefully will see another game like it in the future that does a bit more for the game

Love the toy soldiers series. Very upsetting to hear about the collapse of the dev team and the delisting of the xbox versions of Toy Soldiers. I also heard people complain about the game not running on modern systems. I think I was able to find a fix to older games not running on new systems. Uninstall and reinstall microsoft visuals that the game runs on. I would also install the older microsoft visuals if you have not done so already. I am able to play this game just fine. For reference I am running a rtx 4070ti, 13th gen intel i5 13600k, and 32gb ddr4. Hope this helps. Also it seems that the lead dev for the game is releasing out the source code for anyone who wants to build their own toy soldiers spin off. But as of now it seems that Toy Soldiers is pretty much dead including the upcoming ww2 toy soldiers.
