season 2 is almost as good as the first season, and that’s saying a lot. the story’s packed with emotional moments, tough choices, and some seriously unforgettable characters. it doesn’t quite hit the same heights as season 1, but it’s still so amazing in its own right. if you loved the first season, this one’s a must-play too.
A Heartbreaking Masterpiece
This game broke me in ways I didn’t think a game could. If Season 1 left me emotionally drained, Season 2 absolutely shattered me. The choices felt heavier, the stakes were higher, and the world was even crueler. It’s not just a game; it’s a brutal test of your humanity.
Kenny wasn’t perfect—far from it. He raged, he hurt. But he loved. He fought like hell to protect what little good was left in this broken world. I stood by Kenny until the very end, and I don’t regret it for a second. Say what you will about him... yes, he can lose control, and yes, his temper can scare you. But deep down, everything he did was for the group, for Clem, and for the baby. He’s been there since the beginning, through every loss and every heartbreak. Watching him fight so hard, even when the world gave him nothing but pain, made my decision clear. He’s flawed, but that’s what makes him real.
By the end, I sat there in silence, feeling every ounce of pain, joy, and loss this game had poured into me. Season 2 doesn’t just tell a story; it takes your heart, twists it, and leaves you with scars you’ll carry forever.
Play it. Let it break you. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll find your own light in the shadows.
In my opinion this game is one of the best from telltale games i loved the story it was just as good as the first game.
It takes everything that worked so well in the first game and expands it. Good story. Profound characters. Good action.
I was really shocked by the ending, it made me feel like I'm a child watching mom and dad fight each other, helpless and scared, hard to choose which one to stop or help. When he died, my heart broke as hell and I regreted immediately.
So I had to replay it, and this time, screw you Jane, I'm going with Kenny!

This was a great but short continuation of the first game(and dlc). Once again, the ending nearly made me cry. This is also the last game of the series with "old" looking graphics and UI so I was just enjoying the feeling of nostalgia.
Overall it's okay.
There don't seem to be any improvements in comparison to the first game, graphics are the same etc. But the story, story really seems to lack in this one, seemingly in the next seasons too...
The continuity is just bad, most of the situations don't make sense, the characters are annoying, sometimes the choices you make don't mean anything and a lot of the time they don't make sense...
There's a pretty great chance I won't be getting the other games, just save myself the money and (some) time to watch a playthrough...
5.5/10
It's very fun, but it’s hard to recommend. The story is rough, and as 90% of people know, it's set on rails and only has a handful of endings with slight deviations.
But it's still a solid 6/10
i loved playing from clems perspective. i feel like the choices that you have to make are much more detrimental than the last season which makes the stakes higher. also dont get attatched to the characters because when they die (yes, when) you will turn into an emotional disaster!
wasn't as good as the first game but still decent. it's the same basis as the first one in terms of people in a group slowly getting picked off, but it leads into a deeper story with AJ.
i has been a really nice reunion, story well written and game brings so much feelings and memories i love this warm feeling when m playing it (m still going to name my daughter clementine). <3 my fav story game
This game is very good. In terms of story, the story is amazing. We have to make decisions that can be said to be difficult because every choice we make determines the storyline. Indeed, we have to play this game from the first season to know the storyline, because there are some clips that ask about events that happened in the first season. Overall, I really like this game.
I give the first game a 10/10, so I'll give TWD: Season 2 a 7/10.
The weirdest thing I noticed about the game is that it had very minimal input and most of the game was just cutscenes. I wish we had more chances to actually look for materials, interact with the environment and just be able to walk around. The first game actually required you to think for a bit and look for items to solve the required situation.
My other, biggest complaint about the game is that it's a "Choices matter game" where choices don't actually matter at all. The developers already decided beforehand where the characters end up, who they're with, which characters die/live, so no matter what option you choose in the end it matters nothing.
Saying that, the plot of the game was very decent, the writing was good and the environment felt appropriate to the story. The characters this season were a bit less lovable than S1 but still good.
Room for improvement, but appropriate continuation to TWD series.
If you liked season one, you'll wanna play season 2. A few more story hiccups than the previous season, but still good. The only negative part is how so many characters got killed off without being fleshed out fully, saving Sarah for instance provides hardly anything new, likewise for Nick, who you would think could play a bigger part before he died if you did manage to have Walter save him.
Good points are how certain characters redeem themselves, like Rebecca did. Story is good despite the negatives I listed above, still emotional, and Alvin Jr. is a nice plot-point.
also, [pet dog] and Alvins last stand was nice
after a replay i now notice how absolutely sub-par the writing is but i feel like that's just because i came off the first season which was well written so in comparison this looked like fucking grays anatomy
It's a great sequel, no matter how many times I play it, I always enjoy it.
The game is a timeless classic for me that hits emotional beats in a way no other game can, Clementine belongs in a list with the all time greatest video game protagonists, yeah the choices don't actually matter and never did, especially with the third game of this series completely undermining the end of this one, but the characters are fantastic and the story is beautifully tragic
A great follow-up to the original game. I like playing the Walking Dead theme song whenever the opening credits roll. It's usually pretty close in run-time to the intro portion of each episode.
For the most part, the story is well constructed. I did run into a couple of spots where it was obvious from the dialogue that I was supposed to make a choice other than the one I did. Sometimes characters would just seem to know things they shouldn't have or make assumptions they had no reason to, but apart from these minor story hiccups, the whole thing is very engaging. Hard not to binge.
I love this game, so much danger and chaos around every option, but at the same time it's so fun and exciting to play. I recommend this game to anyone that stumbles upon this legendary masterpiece of a story-game, there's a lot of different outcomes in the decisions you make, and I appreciate it, so much anger, so much confusion, and so much sadness, the ending is heart wrenching and I can't help but love it.
I've played the telltale walking dead games so many times. I think this is my 5th or 6th time playing the 2nd one. These games are a perfect "flawed" masterpiece (Season 1 & 2 anyways)
I will never get bored of replaying these games. Not a single other game can give off the vibe like the walking dead telltale games. It's in it's own realm. You'd think after playing a game so much the emotions stop but every time it gets me man.
Pewdiepie said it best, the major flaw of these games, is everyone dies. Season 2 is the prime example. It should be called The Walking Dead Season 2: Dropping Like flies. Death in these type of games are a given and should be expected but I feel like this is why the 3rd game and 4th game don't live up to 1 and 2. Nobody is around, there's no memorable characters besides Clem. They should have kept a few or even just one. If I had to choose, Luke should have not been killed. Luke was the Lee of this game just not as "good". This time around though, something made me choose a different option. I usually ALWAYS kill Jane at the end and go with Kenny, but this playthrough. Man just let the dude die. Kenny is on edge with everybody, more shit just makes him fall into the rabbit hole of guilt and anger. I had to kill Kenny at the end. It just felt right this time. Jane is such a piece of shit for pulling the move at the end and it's one of those moments I go "fuck not this part" because I hate how she tries to manipulate Clementine in that way. A lot of people hate Jane, but I've always thought she was a good and likeable character. That being said, there is just so much I hate and love about this game and I can't write about it all, it's why I call it a perfect flawed masterpiece.
One of the best twd and story game. Just that it different from watching the twd from the tv show and playing the game. Both are alike but with different characters and it us that got to make the choice.
Great game that is on par with the first, with some polishing around the edges. Loving this series so much.
Good addition to the series, if you liked the first you'll like this one. Story is familiar if you've watched or read anything relating to walking dead. It's the characters, their interactions and your choices that keep it interesting. As a game it's more akin to a tv series, there's not much gameplay and the little that it has is wonky - basically a 8 hour long quicktime event.
May i say this is on of the best walking dead seasons? It had so many good characters, and also this season has one of the best vilians. Also we can see Clem becoming more independent from just being a vulnerable little girl in the first season. Spoiler alert but seeing Kenny return has such a big impact on the game, hes one of the best character in the whole game. Overall its an emotionally intense game and a good continuation of Clems story.
A deeply emotional survival story where every choice counts, keeping you hooked from start to finish. :')
Such an amazing story and it really puts you in their shoe with the choices. Its really different from the Season 1 in a GOOD WAY
The following content may contain spoilers. This review is based on my experience after completing The Walking Dead Season 2.
For me, this isn’t Telltale’s best game (the best is the first season). However, if you’ve completed Season 1, I think you’ll want to finish Season 2 even without a recommendation—many people are curious about what ultimately happens to Clem. If you haven’t played the first season, as this is a series, I suggest playing Season 1 first before considering this game. Even if you haven’t played Season 1, you’ll still understand the storyline here, but the emotional impact will be greatly reduced. This is why you should start with Season 1. (It seems there’s an Ultimate Edition now, so maybe not many people will see this review).
In this game, you have to make tough choices—often, each decision comes at the expense of others. One example is in Episode 2, where if you choose to stay silent about Nick killing an innocent man, Matthew, Nick is left to be bitten by walkers. But if you vouch for Nick, he’ll survive, yet Walter, Matthew’s partner, will be unable to process his grief. Still, the plot and choices in this season don’t feel as weighty as in Season 1. Your team members were unfriendly from the start (even Luke), and I didn’t feel much affection for them. They often die soon after showing, and there’s little time to build relationships. Some people you try to save will die no matter what choice you make (like Luke). In this way, the choices in this game are far less compelling than in the first season.
Although I still recommend this game, I must be honest here. The company promotes it as “tailored by your choice,” but it remains a linear narrative. So, when you play it for the first time, you might feel like, “Wow, the game says, ‘Kenny will remember that,’ or ‘Carver noticed that you’re lying,’ as if something huge is about to happen.” But in reality, even if you save someone and let another die to walkers, it doesn’t matter much, as everyone eventually dies anyway (and quickly too). The story’s ending is predetermined (or about 90% predetermined in Season 2, and it doesn’t matter even after…). Most of the time, the person you save at the start of an episode will die later in the same episode for other reasons. And even if they survive, they have no major plot development or dialogue and just linger there (waiting to be killed off).
The game is still fun, though, because the backstory, protagonist, and setup from Season 1 are so well done. Although I wasn’t as moved as in Season 1, there are still memorable moments that make it worth recommending.
Luke, whom I chose to turn to from the start, was a good choice. At only 27, he’s still young. He had his own business and a kind heart. He tried to help many, including our Clem. His death felt pointless. Some think he wasn’t that useful, but having him around felt reassuring.
Then there’s Arvo, the Russian guy, who I think deserved a worse fate from Kenny. I didn’t steal his supplies; besides being startled by Jane, we didn’t harm him at all. Yet he brings his Russian friends to rob us, leading to Rebecca’s death and Luke’s serious leg injury. He then misleads us about shelter and has us walk on thin ice, which causes Luke to drown. Later, he tricks Mike, tries to steal our car, and even shoots Clem, nearly killing her. A person with such low morals deserves a grim end—no matter his age or whether he has a sick sister. After all, Duck died, so I don’t understand why Arvo doesn’t get a similar fate.
Kenny’s reappearance is touching but doesn’t entirely feel justified. First, he was overwhelmed by walkers in Season 1, with no real chance of survival. Then, he suddenly has a new love interest, Sarita, and seems devoted to her. I feel it’s a bit strange that he’d move on so quickly from his late wife Kat. He probably resented his wife for being unable to cope with Duck’s death and ultimately abandoning him through her suicide. Kenny’s emotions are even harder to control than in Season 1, leading to much unnecessary violence. Still, Clem knows him the longest, so the hardest decision for me was choosing to sit with Kenny or Luke at the cabin. You eventually have to choose whether to let Kenny or Jane die from their fight because Jane pretends AJ is dead. This setup felt odd to me, and the conflict itself seems pointless. If Jane really hated kids, she’d have actually let AJ die. If not, her fight with Kenny was entirely unnecessary—so what if Clem realizes Kenny has mental issues? They’re the last three survivors anyway (except for AJ). The more realistic ending would be for Clem to return to Carver’s compound, which had ample food and a greenhouse to grow more. Reaching Wellington and successfully finding it felt like an idealistic escape. In reality, it’s easy to freeze to death on the way. In Season 1, hunger led to many deaths (and even the tragedy of eating people); meanwhile, in Season 2, Clem and Kenny roam through the snow, unfed, shot, holding a baby, yet they’re somehow fine. Still, I ultimately chose Kenny because he’s proven willing to be crazy and die to save a child (Clem and AJ), whereas Jane often chooses to abandon others and act alone. I don’t see a right or wrong here, though.
Carver’s prison management reminds me of Crawford’s in Season 1. He grows plants, has abundant supplies, and builds a fortress for everyone. These are rational moves. His problem is his brutal management and casual killing, but in a way, his actions defending from walkers seem reasonable to me. I’m not sure why he was so fixated on AJ—after all, he couldn’t be sure the child was his. If he wanted children, honestly, Bonnie wouldn’t refuse to have one for him. Is he fond of Rebecca? I didn’t see that. These story conflicts feel a bit forced and are far less compelling than in Season 1. He wants a family but kills those who would make one. He doesn’t really care but keeps these prisoners around. In the DLC 400 Days, they could have found more prisoners. Kenny was originally written to be Carver. If that had stayed, I think the plot would have been better.
Rebecca’s promiscuity is another thing. She seemed to love her husband Alvin yet potentially conceived Carver’s child. She’s hot-tempered, treats Clem poorly, and contributes little to the group. Frankly, in such an environment, is having a child on the road really the right choice? She should have given birth in prison and then tried to escape. The child’s crying led to many deaths and disputes. I’m not sure what to make of this storyline. Players can’t choose Clem’s feelings toward AJ, as if they must like him. It feels unrealistic. I’m actually more curious about what happened to Christa and Omid’s baby.
Bonnie already had a poor character in the DLC and was even more dislikable here. She pushes Clem into many things, blames her for not saving Luke, and forgets that Clem saved her life more than once.
Nick is much like Ben, but while Ben eventually matured and faced his choices, Nick kills the innocent Matthew and tries to hide it. He almost gets Clem killed from the start.
Sarah, though helpful at first, quickly becomes a burden. She panics and can’t handle the world. I tried to be her friend, but her personality and lack of resilience mean she’s bound to die. And she indeed brings it on herself.
I don’t understand why Season 1 was so brilliant, while Season 2 falls into mediocrity. I can only give it a 6.5/10 rating, yet I’m not quite inclined to label it as “not recommended.” I think it’s still worth a try, but don’t expect it to move you more than Season 1. You’ll want to keep playing to see the story through. And then, you’ll see a bunch of adults behaving more immaturely than an 11-year-old Clem. As Clem puts it, “Why is it always me?”
TWD Season Two keeps the tension high and the story gripping as you navigate life as Clementine in a brutal world. The choices feel impactful, and the characters are memorable, keeping you hooked from start to finish. If you loved Season One, this is a powerful, emotional continuation.
This game was REALLY fun in my opinion and even though I am playing years later it is still conveniently a good game despite it being years old!
The Walking Dead: Season Two is an emotional rollercoaster that builds on Clementine's story from the first season. Playing as Clem, we watch her evolve into a strong, independent survivor in a world where every decision could mean life or death. The story digs deep into her resilience and the tough moral choices she faces, especially as she navigates complex relationships and encounters new, sometimes heartbreaking, characters.
The gameplay sticks to Telltale’s formula of dialogue choices and quick-time events, which add tension to action scenes. While the choices don’t always lead to major story changes, they do impact relationships and the direction of Clem’s journey, creating a sense of personalization that still feels meaningful. Some players might find the pace a bit slower than Season One, but the multiple endings add replayability and depth, making each choice feel important in the end.
If you loved Season One, Season Two keeps that same dark, gritty tone and offers a fresh perspective through Clem’s eyes. It's not a perfect sequel, but it’s a worthy continuation of a beloved story.
Rating: 8/10
When i watched this game i never understood picking lily, but after playing it it actually wasn't as easy a choice as i thought...

STILL PICKED KENNY MY GOAT.
Just as good as the first game, I love it, and it hits even harder, the ending is what got me teared up the most. I will be coming back for this game to play it again but differently, though I wish Luke was the 2nd option/character to pick and not Jane. The flash back scene got me real nostalgia, even though I only played these two gems just now. I will play the last two seasons but I wish they didnt end it there.
Good point and click adventure game with lots of zombies.
I liked this better than the first one, was more fast-paced, has a good story and a good protagonist in Clementine. Lots of difficult choices to make, lots of zombie killing and a bit more gory than the first game. Good graphics and sound, and playthrough takes about 8-9 hours.
My only criticism was episodes 4 and 5, especially the last episode which I felt dragged abit, and the ending didn't have the same impact as the first game.
Good story and I'd recommend it if you like Telltale adventure games - 8/10
Super good story with a crazy ending, this series is amazing you have to play the walking dead series.
It's an emotional journey from beginning to end. A great continue of the story
Dozens of Unexpected events ! This game is so amazing.

I just finished playing the game, it is really nice and I love the story! 10/10 would recommend.

отличное продолжение 1 части легендарной франшизы
If you enjoyed the first game then this game will be 100% satisfying for you. Amazing sequel. Once again with an immersive storyline and atmosphere filled with a ton of emotions.
very unfortunate the game has a ton of bugs. 1 + good story and storyline
I have never seen an 11-year-old with so many responsibilities and accompanied by such incapable adults. Nonetheless, the character writing and storyline are much better than in season one. The setting in chapter 3 was great. Too bad we don't spend more time there, a lot of interesting things could have happened. The link made with "400 Days" DLC is ingenious, I loved it. I'm glad I gave the license a chance. Also, the game is way more stable than the first one. The QTE / UI are better, and the gameplay is overall more enjoyable.
"heh yeah I'll just play The Walking Dead games around Halloween, It'll be good. Zombies, that'll be Halloween spirit type game". Yeah real good call, this will be like Halloween fun, definitely not heavy and depressing. Super fun.
great continuation to the first installment, but we're about to do the most dangerous escape attempt in a camp led by a crazy maniac! what do we do, 11-year-old girl who clearly is a child that we're relying on to make a decision that could possibly kill all of us???
Short review:
(++) your save state from season 1 is carried over (restart the game if you have issues)
(-) occasional clipping of textures is quite annoying
(-) certain dialogue can be frustrating since the outcome was often obvious
(-) I honestly would have chosen to put a bullet through half the characters pretty quickly, unfortunately that was no option

Additional Notes:
Surprisingly enough this game carries on from the from the previous title. I did not expect that since I expected it to behave like any other game where choices are ultimately meaningless. This was a pleasant surprise.
On the other hand some of the occasional texture clipping was quite annoying and unfortunately obvious.
The dialogue in this game was quite frustrating at times. For example some group members trying to side with the kid that nearly killed the entire group. That kid was obviously full of malicious intent and should be shot on sight. For some strange reason the group members were far too sympathetic. To be frank I would have been far more stern with the strangers Clementine was interacting with. This made the story quite a bit more annoying.
An amazing sequel to the first game, once again with an incredible storyline and atmosphere! also jam packed with tons of emotion, and touch choices. 10/10 - 100% recommend a playthrough if you enjoyed the first game.
u did it telltale u amazed me with second game, the only problem in both games is end credit that take long and u cant skip it but still amazing experience

9.5/10
I love the way the game references events from Season 1
Great continuation of the story...loved it.. Clementine is growing...
