I wish I had played this game sooner. It's really great like great. I know it's not the best game in the world but it's definitely worth it
The Walking Dead & 400 Days – An Unforgettable Journey Through Humanity's Darkest Hours

A Masterclass in Interactive Storytelling
The Walking Dead by Telltale Games isn’t just a game; it’s an emotional odyssey that immerses players in the harrowing world of survival in a zombie-infested landscape. Set in a narrative-rich environment inspired by Robert Kirkman’s iconic comic series, the game places you in the shoes of Lee Everett, a man seeking redemption and survival while protecting a young girl named Clementine. What makes The Walking Dead truly exceptional is its ability to make players confront the moral dilemmas of a world turned upside down, where choices have significant consequences and humanity is put to the test.

A Gripping, Heart-Wrenching Narrative
From the moment you step into Lee's shoes, the story captivates you with its emotional depth. The decisions you face—whether to trust a stranger or sacrifice a friend—are poignant and often gut-wrenching. As you navigate through this treacherous world, the game challenges you to consider what it means to be human when survival is at stake. The bond between Lee and Clementine is beautifully developed, evolving from a protector-protégé relationship into a profound connection that anchors the narrative. Their interactions breathe life into the story, making every loss and victory resonate deeply.

Unforgettable Characters
The Walking Dead excels in character development, crafting a cast of survivors who feel authentic and relatable. Every character you encounter, from the resourceful Kenny to the enigmatic Lilly, has their own struggles and motivations. The writing is sharp and impactful, ensuring that even minor characters leave a lasting impression. When faced with tragic choices, you truly feel the weight of your decisions, and this emotional investment in the characters elevates the entire experience.

Impactful Decision-Making
What sets The Walking Dead apart is its approach to decision-making. Every choice, no matter how small, can ripple through the narrative, affecting relationships and future events. The game’s episodic format allows for a rich unfolding of the story, similar to a gripping TV series, where each episode builds on the previous one. The pressure of making decisions under time constraints adds to the tension, forcing players to think quickly about what they believe is right.

400 Days – A Powerful Extension of the Experience

A Bold Experiment in Storytelling
400 Days, the DLC for The Walking Dead, takes the emotional storytelling to new heights by introducing five new survivors, each facing unique challenges during the early days of the apocalypse. This anthology-style expansion brilliantly weaves together the stories of Vince, Bonnie, Russell, Shel, and Wyatt, providing fresh perspectives in a world already defined by loss and desperation. Despite its shorter length, 400 Days captures the essence of the main game, with tightly written narratives that highlight the harsh realities of survival.

Diverse Characters and Unique Stories
The strength of 400 Days lies in its ability to make players care about each character, despite their limited screen time. Each story is rich with moral complexity and human emotion, showcasing the different ways individuals cope with the collapse of society. The choices you make in these vignettes reflect the same weight as those in the main game, reinforcing the series' signature style of impactful storytelling. The characters' struggles with trust, betrayal, and survival create a powerful emotional resonance, making you reflect on the human condition.

The Continuity of Choices
The decisions made in 400 Days not only affect the characters within the DLC but also have implications for future episodes of The Walking Dead. This interconnectedness enhances the narrative's depth, allowing players to see the broader impact of their choices. The seamless transition between the DLC and the main game further enriches the experience, ensuring that players remain engaged in the evolving story of Clementine.

A Bridge to Season Two
400 Days acts as a crucial bridge to Season Two of The Walking Dead, introducing new characters and storylines that set the stage for what’s to come. The anthology format provides a satisfying expansion of the universe, allowing fans to delve deeper into the struggles of survival while maintaining the emotional core that made the original so compelling.

Conclusion
Together, The Walking Dead and its DLC 400 Days offer an unforgettable journey through a world ravaged by chaos and despair. Telltale Games has crafted an emotional narrative filled with unforgettable characters and choices that linger long after the game is over. If you’re looking for a gaming experience that blends storytelling with moral complexity and deep emotional impact, The Walking Dead and 400 Days are essential plays that redefine what interactive storytelling can achieve.
Great game but Ben lived for WAYYY TOO long as he is completely useless and got the group in danger many times. Also his actions and Lily's ego got Carley killed for no reason (top 3 season 1 character) and he also indirectly killed Duck and Katjaa which led to a broken Kenny and also a bit Lee. God I WISH you were able to leave him and his friend where you found him in the beginning of Episode 2.
the ending of this game made me cry for like 2 hours really its worth play and its worth the 90 game of year
The best story game I've ever played.
I fell in love with every part of this so to speak franchise with all my heart, I remember the whole plot by heart and every time I go through it again I remember each character, this game film really deserves more coverage, I advise you to play every part
After multiple playthroughs, it remains one of the best story-driven games. Thank you Telltale.
Very good game, It has a great story and characters. Lee and Clementine are great and their bond is really nice to see get deeper with each chapter. The eyes were sometimes buggy but everything else was great. 8/10
This is the best game I've ever played in my entire life
Whenever I remember Lee's death, I get teary-eyed. It's unbearable to think that Kenny's entire family was wiped out in just an instant. It was so heartbreaking. I hope Kenny is now reunited with his family in another world, perhaps in a universe where no one has to die, and everyone lives a happy life.
Writing this brings back memories of the entire game series, and I'm getting emotional again.
I first played this game when it was released 12 years ago - loved it then, and love it again with the replay. The story line and game play are great and accessible, particularly for someone whose hand-eye coordination isn't what it used to be :D
One of the best Point-And-Click adventures out there in my opinion. I really love the aesthetics around it (just like almost any other Telltale game) it is cartoony, cel-shaded, but at the same time it's really capable to create really disturbing scenarios. Gameplay is just fine, not complaining about it, It got just exactly what it needed to work I think, since the narrative is what carries the whole game, first, the story gets you in many difficult situation in which you'll have to make difficult choices while time's running, so, not only your choices are going to be relevant here, but the pressure of the situation too, and if you mix that with one of the best character development I've ever seen in my life, you get a really memorable story in game. 400 days in a bit mid though, it keeps the same spirit, but it doesn't give enough time to actually care about your choices, but the main game is in my honest opinion, a masterpiece at least.
Obviously a classic at this point. A very well written narrative with interesting characters (none larger than Lee and Clementine) and large enough branching storylines based on your decisions in game to keep multiple play-throughs as fresh as the first. As someone who struggles to finish traditional RPG's, this game offers a much more casual experience with branching narratives, yet still manages to be engaging through its narrative and characters. Gameplay however can get repetitive, but not to any larger degree than any other Telltale game of the time. If you have played Telltale games before, you know what to expect from gameplay.
Overall, I highly recommend this game, especially to more casual gamers such as myself who crave an RPG-like experience.

Additonal Notes:
The Walking Dead is a story focused game that actually respects player choice and evolves around the actions of the player. This makes your choices actually feel impactful and meaningful. Though it is important to note that the story and some of it's elements can be pretty predictable at times, examples being: the appearance of zombies and their timing along with certain story developments (e.g. Motel Traitor ).
The graphics were simple but stylistic which made it pleasant to look at, the only thing of note is the contrast between the skin and the eyes made the low polygon count of the eyes very, very noticeable.
At first, the picture is a little annoying with a comic drawing. But as the game progresses, the gameplay and plot are incredibly addictive, despite the fact that the game is quite old, it is very good. I definitely recommend this game, it's a great way to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of classic puzzles:)
I really like this game because it's got me on an emotional level.
I like the choices aspect despite some of the impacts it's made, and I really really like the story.
it's got some puzzles which aint that bad and you can fight and stuff (not freely but yeah)
for $3 (on sale) its worth is good i just wish it didnt have to be like that
Fantastic game with a memorable story forcing you to make difficult decisions.
Great story, good mechanics, good characters and i like how you can choose what path you take throughout the story and how it changes the plot.

Спасибо такой топ игре, сколько раз не проходил, но в конце все-равно слеза падала на стол в грусть концовки...
ENG:
Thank you for such a top game, no matter how many times I played it, but at the end a tear still dripped onto the table from the sad ending...
amazing story and decision making but the gameplay and controlls arent as good, its hard to look around and make actions but overall very good game, if you like open world pick another game as this is very specific to the story.
Great Story!
Your choises does not change the final outcome of the whole story, but change who you are in the game!
I only bought the game n started playing cuz i thought s3-s4 clem looked cool but oh my god ive just hit the beginning of ep 2 and kid clem is so cute id do anything for her bro shes my daughter we locked in like that
I can not finish the game and not saying how good it is. This game, for it's time, I think i'ts much better than most of the triple A games from 2019 'tll nowdays (22-09-2024 12:20AM GMT). This story kept me captivated from start to finish. I'm writing this review as I am waiting for the season 2 to install. Can't wait to play it!
Truly an amazing game. I am not one to be too much into the story in games but I can't even explain how Incredibly good this game is. Can't believe I got this gem of a game on sale for only £1! But even for full price is 1000% worth it. Completed it today and the ending was amazing, I literally sat through the credits just appreciating what an amazing game I just experienced. I have bought the rest of the sequel and excited to see how the story continues.
This game is great. I love the aesthetic, the voice acting, the bgm, and also the soundtrack. I binged played it on offline mode. after I finished it I wanted to see other option but I think I really need time to replay it again.
as someone whos watched every twd series, this game is so fun to play and compare/relate to the show. if you have watched twd or just love multiple choice, puzzle, or survival games i highly recommend this for anyone who doesnt scare easy :)

As far as I have played the game I have really enjoyed it, cool thing that such a small choice make a big impact on the story. It can be a bit hard to progress to the next thing sometimes but otherwise great game.
