"This really isn't the same game that I originally purchased anymore. With all the changes that have been made over that duration the game is so much more fun
now that there are machines to alleviate almost every large build annoyance that used to exist. The FALCORs, thieves, excavators, drills etc.. all did so much for
automation it's almost hard to believe I ever did that stuff manually before."
A Whole New Survival Experience...
FortressCraft has continued to evolve, and now sits at 25 free Content Patches since leaving Early Access. This has included radical visual alterations, completely reworking the surface, along with a brand-new rendering system. On top of that, there has been an enormous amount of work to make the game more understandable and accessible for new players, with a new UI, new Tutorial, new Missions and a updated context-sensitive Handbook. The combination of these things should work towards making it feel like a fresh, new experience. Prepare for a new exploration and survival experience!
FortressCraft Evolved is a unique blend of Voxel Landscapes, Tower Defense, Crafting, Logistics, Exploration, Combat and Assembly lines. Players begin by crash-landing on a strange alien world, left with only a small handful of starting machines. Using hand-held scanners they must locate ore resources, place down Ore Extractors and Conveyors to automate the raw material back to the Smelter; take the fresh ingots through multi-machine assembly lines, followed by researching new technologies that help them explore thousands of meters below the planet's surface.
An advanced HoloBase allows players to keep an eye on their factory which they must defend against waves of alien attacks with multiple tiers of missile and energy turrets. To survive they must continue to develop new and unique power systems, from Solar Energy to Jet Turbines, culminating in crafting an Orbital Energy Transmitter, thousands of cubic meters in size, to beam power off-planet, and start the next phase of the game.
And all this runs on a custom engine with an enormous draw-distance, scaleable gameplay engine that is equally at home on high-end or low-end computers, and full multiplayer support!
Experience the largest worlds ever seen in any computer game - ever!
Create a futuristic mining operation consisting of thousands of huge machines.
Full Tower-Defense style combat in a voxel universe.
Use hi-tech machinery to locate and process resources from thousands of meters away.
Explore thousands of metres vertically, overcoming ever-more difficult challenges.
Official Texture Pack and Mod Pack support
State of the art lighting and shadowing, utilising high resolution maps for machinery and environment
Innovative“Build to Me” Feature to facilitate rapid, accurate building
Super Build Tools allowing instant creation of primitive shapes
"In a world where early access and indie usually means abandoned, unfinished garbage, this game's post-launch development is outpacing many AAA titles and companies."

I can't change which keys do stuff.
Like Satisfactory but with monsters and digging.
I've played this game a bit. Definitely one of the best factory builders out there.
It's not just about logistics, there's tower defense and giant lasers to fuel, and the one thing I feel that all factory builders need, it's a REASON for building the super massive factory. Logistics are fun, but logistics for a purpose give me the fuzzies. Eagerly looking forward to FC2.
Honestly such an underrated game. among all the amazing and fun content the thing I want to focus on in my review is the sound. This game has shown me just how much good audio can enhance a game. Once you get even a small factory, much less a large one, going it sounds amazing. Could legit sit in the middle of one, close my eyes, and just listen for hours. DJArcus has truly gone above and beyond. Then there's the actual gameplay; simply phenomenal. every single texture is amazing, the multiblocks are INSANE, especially the BIG BOI ones. Used to play this all the time years ago when I had more time to play, but I always find my way back here from time to time because I just love it so much. (most my hours are on my old account which is long gone)
I loved the game. nearly 700 hours currently. all in a single map. can't wait for Phoenix to release.
I have never reviewed a game before so bear with me.
I really enjoy this game. I picked it up in 2018 after seeing it featured on Direwolf20 video I stumbled on. The combination of logistics, factories, exploration, and tower defense appeals to me.
I have never gotten super far progression wise compared to others, but that's just how I play. I tend to get side tracked exploring or hyper focused on one thing. If I step away from FCE for a time I usually restart with a new world when I come back. The same is true for just about any game I play.
I like the logistics of moving x to y.
That could mean extracting coal nearby to fuel power generation for some local ore extraction or using lasers to beam that power to distant operations underground.
Now I have all this ore I need to smelt. If it's near surface conveyors are great for lateral movement with a bit of up and down. If it's a bit deeper you need to protect them with turrets. When you need to go deeper cargo lifts are your friend to get the goods to the top. Once you have all these materials up top, the freight system is there if you want to deploy a rail network to really move things around where you need it.
From there I get to layout factories or assembly lines to process ore/materials into more advanced parts as I progress.
As I my operations expand and production/power use increases so does my threat. The level of threat determines the size and scope of the waves of bug attacks. The better defense I setup the longer I can survive the waves. It's fun to see how long I can make it or when I'm not paying attention and trigger a spike only to watch as my base gets stomped. I like that the only repercussion of losing is waiting a few minutes for the CPH to reboot.
Not long after getting FCE I began following it's Discord channel and I lurked in there ever since. There are plenty of people on including the developer that will help out new or old players with tips/tricks/advice about playing FCE.
I am eagerly awaiting the release of FortressCraftEvolved: Phoenix.
This is one of my favorite game. This is most deep mine and explore than other game. Beautiful color glow underground. I love laser things for energy to use. I am so excited about new FortressCraft : Phoenix will come out fall next year!
I love this game.
The start is a bit harsh but as long as you can read, you can follow the turioal and get into the game.
the graphics are "colorfull" and sometimes to much but then again there are situations when this is pretty helpfull
don't understand the recent negative reviews
Unpolished, looks like something from the 90s, can't even access the settings anywhere. You'll be better off playing modded Minecraft.
w t f is going on lolll
Game runs, looks, feels, plays and sounds like complete A$$
UI is the most placeholder thing ive ever seen in any game, yet game came out nearly 10 years ago.
For <2$ worth a try, anything above that is a waste of TBW on ur drive.
This is an absolute nightmare of an experience. The entire point of buying a game like this rather than installing mods for minecraft is to get a far more complete and cohesive experience. That is very much not the case. I cannot fathom paying more than 2$ for this, let alone 13$. To put it simply, if Satisfactory could make a very easy to comprehend tutorial that doesn't bombard you with information or make things confusing, this game should be able to do the same. Instead, you're thrown into a pit of wolves and given nothing but meaningless information as a tool.
This game's start is terrible. Perhaps even the game is terrible, but I'll never know. It may be fun after 30 hours when you know everything, but that's not exactly a good time in my book. My time is far too limited to suffer through no functional tutorial and mandated external videos just to learn the basics of a game that seems, at best, mediocre.
Ugly, overly complicated, unorganized. The tutorial is confusing. The aesthetic has some late-90's videogame charm that I love, but everything about the game is an immediate and forceful turn-off. Also, nitpick but block-voxel worlds look like total garbage, no amount of AO, AA, DOF, or HDR will ever make these worlds look good, and the farther they recede into the past of gaming, the more outdated and hackey they look. Disappointing, looked neat
It's really fun and has a couple of interesting design choices. However, difficulty levels are really frustrating (Don't even try playing on Greg or Scarce)
Im amazed this game ever had an audience. I tried it, gave it a good chance, but when all the crafting recipes are using the same machines and the only difference is the color of the ore it doesnt feel like content. its setting up the same lines over and over for the same machines, with no variation. Also, the world gen is horrid. for gameplay, it creates a TALL world that absolutely sucks to traverse. you just have to dig straight down to the lowest level you can, die a few times to giant pits, a frostbite layer, then and only then, set up an auto bore that digs UPWARD. this also means you have to transport all your ores up thousands of blocks, AND DEFEND THE WHOLE CONVEYOR. why the creator chose such an annoying system is beyond me. at some point in the game you unlock a mass transit elevator, but you cannot filter the output effectively so you have to create an elevator for each and every ore in the game, and if you place one for iron near the top of the world, you'll need another if you happen to find more iron that is close by near the bottom. Additionally, the assets in this game are VERY subpar. the items look like they belong to another game, the achievements look like microsoft word clip art, the terrain is just random, and its a color between barf and purple.
Then there's the combat. why does it exist? its not like Factorio where automating defenses is a logistical challenge, and there is no reason to guard the base once you can make a coal generator backbone in early mid-game. this game really just looks like random assets thrown together with some light game play added.
do not waste your time. the creator surely spent less time making it then you will playing it. and if that isnt the case... well, thats just sad.
Its pretty rough around the edges, and there is very little in terms of an introduction. The UI is clunky, and not super easy to read, plus its hard to see much of anything while playing due to fog, bloom, and tiny text ui. wish i could enjoy, unfortunately could not

this game messed up my entire steam cloud
interesting
my wife was on point when she said this is evil minecraft
Tedious AF. I want to play, I really do. However, this game drains me like no other game has. Think of this game as an ADHD simulator. I am left feeling exhausted, frustrated, and burned out.
Good game. Not a lot t say.
I had fun.
realy great time waster
Production chains are fun.
It's hard to get started in FortressCraft Evolved, but it's fun once you do. The challenge isn't so much learning to perform basic tasks, but learning how all the pieces go together. Online resources are must to this end.
Like the premis of the game and the work that's gone into it; however, its incredibly buggy and I came back to it after years of not playing it as I started when this was a early release and there are still bugs and crashes as far as the eye can see. They have stated in post about a second Fortress Craft; so they probably wont fix any of the current problems with this one. Was hoping for this one to be good, its just not.
Игры похожие на FortressCraft Evolved!
