Is It Like The Old Double Dragon Games? No. But Do You Really Want To Play An Old Clunky Beat'em Up Where You Are Limited By Your Character's Skill Set?
Neon Is One Of The Best Beat'em Up Ever Made In My Opinion. Played It Multiple Times Through The Years And It Never Gets Boring.
The Gleam / Shine Dodge System Is Perfect For A Skill Based Approach.
The Mixtapes Are Great Addition To Make It Different.
The Only Complaint I May Have Is That The Training Wheels Mixtape Is Too Good.
I Do Not Feel An Incentive To Really Switch To Other.
If You Want To Experience How Good A Beat'em Up Can Be, Buy This One And Enjoy! :)
The gameplay - the action - is so slow that this seems like it was made for the elderly. Except I was 9 when I played the original on my Sega Master System - and it was more exciting than this.
Looks great, music is awesome, beautiful art but the gameplay doesn't make sense to me.
A fun, bash 'em up game!
Literally so good. Reminds me of the old NES DD but with a new twist, and trust me, this is a true Beat 'em Up game !! Reminds me of playing Final Fight arcade, I love it so much !!
The game is great, with an amazing soundtrack and great animations. But it gets absolutely nightmarishly hard even on Normal at the start of level 9, and if not for the store and tons of money at the end of the final level, it would be impossible to complete. Yet it is a great old-school experience.
If it doesn't launch, find the exe and set the compatibility to xp service pack 3.

Great game, but definitely recommended for two players.
Strangely parodic, but still fun beat'em up.
Hit detection is a bit cluncky and hard to get used to, and the player is severy punished for failing. However, it's still a fun beat'em up experience, with lots ov variety in levels and enemies. The tapes that give special stats and abilities are a neat gimmick.
Very good action game, definetly worth trying.
Having played through the game multiple times since it first came out, I still think it's a great game and a solid entry in the franchise.
It's far from perfect and at times it lacks that strong impact that the original was known for. The story is a bit strange and the main boss is a bit over the top, but I guess that fits the mood they were aiming for. It just feels a bit far removed from 1987's groundbreaking original.
Apart from that, the moves, upgrades and weapons are great, there is variety in enemies and styles and it plays really well once you get used to it.
I'm just happy that they keep bringing back Billy and Jimmy for more! And I can't wait for the next one!
