The best DnD game!
One of my favorite games on history, reminds me my childhood.
Poor graphics rendering (blooming?). Very stiff controls. No controller support. Despite that, the game is still somewhat fun as a nostalgic arcade game.
Excellent duo of games at full price. A steal on sale. I spent WAY more than this at the arcade when I was a lad, chewing my way through these two titles.
...I finally got to beat that Red Dragon...
This hit nostalgia really hard. I remember times to play it on actual Arcades. Now I was able to finish the game without loosing a lot of money and find all the secrets! It's always fun to pick different paths and find out what's different. I seriously love this game.
~~Check my curator's page!~~
I used to play this game in the arcades back in the 90s, I am so happy it came back. It's a faithful remake. Yes you get unlimited lives but these games are brutal to play on a single quarter. I remember dumping about $5-$10 in for a full playthrough when I was a kid. :D
This version of the game has both Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara, but I highly recommend the latter game because it's just a more refined system with more fun stuff + extra classes. So if you dislike Tower of Doom, just go to the other game, it's a lot more fun IMO.
Also... this game has TONS and TONS and TONS of secrets and other hidden things within it. It takes a while to get used to the controls and experimenting to find secret items, hidden attack combos and fighting game moves that each character has.
Example...
One sword's name is actually really cool for a game of this era. Seriously... It names itself after the highest score person on the cabinet! It sounds silly and simple, but that's just a neat feature for an arcade cabinet in the 90s if you got it. I kind of wish more games did that :D
Also, side note, I *read a long time ago* that this game heavily inspired the Dungeon Fighter Online / Dungeon & Fighter series.
I have never played a Dungeons & Dragons game in my life. However, I love beat'em ups. This game, is one of the very best. Especially considering when it came out. At the time, this game blew others totally out of the water. It would have been a much bigger hit if it wasn't stuck on the Sega Saturn. Grab this game when it is on sale, you'll be glad you did.
they where solid arcade beat em ups with some cool ideas for RPG elements poorly implemented tho juggerling menus in this game mid fight is disgusting ! but the worst offender of all is no option for lives they have just straight ported the arcade version and given you infinite credits so no death penalty its stupid and lazy and disgusting behaviour!
Quite a good Steam Deck and "train game," works very well and seems to have been given a few good quality of life improvements since the original arcade release of each game.
If you're a fan of the sideways scrolling beat-em-ups of the 90s, you'll find a lot to love in this adventure. It's also a D&D game after the style of the old 'basic' rules (which means there's a confusing mix of races and character classes, if you're used to AD&D or recent editions, you can safely ignore this and just pretend it's -not- a D&D game).
More fun with other people, but still a good game if played through single player, there's an amount of content that makes replaying levels a valid proposition, The leaderboards and challenges add a layer of completion that the arcade cabinets couldn't have.
I would have liked a few more updates around controls, it was limited when it was in a cabinet with only a few buttons, meaning functionality had to double up under the limited choices, but now we have bigger controllers, with more button, and even keyboards, so it's disappointing that they continued to double up buttons with two or three actions each. This is a minor gripe, overall.
This is one of the best beat-em-ups ever made. Made at the height of Pixel Art style, by one of the best developers of the time. I'm not sure what inspired them to make this a beat-em-up but the end result is something that is fun to play alone or with friends. Great characters, expansive move set, lots of different enemy types, varied environments that include exploration and multiple paths. Get the 4 pack and have some good old fashioned fun with your friends. Includes 2 full games
This is such a nostalgic game for me that I cannot be objective. 15/10
By today's standards these games feels a bit clunky but even though the games have some interesting mechanics, stages, and features. Good classic games like these ones need a re-master with new graphics/features to make them feel modern. Game Developers should honestly consider looking at these beat-em up games and consider to develop more games like these in the future.
Does not terminate work well in Win 11
It is the best dungeon and dragons based sidescrolling beat em up set in mystara out there
Controller does not work.
Really great fun, despite the limitations it has due to them being arcade games. I'd love to see a third installment to the franchise that could be an open world side-scrolling RPG (although I know it will never happen). Still have a lot of fun playing them, particularly shadow over Mystara.
Tower of doom - 7.5/10
Shadow over Mystara - 8.5/10
Great! But definitely more fun with other players in a team!
The best DnD game you have probably never played.
It says it has full controller support. It does not.
Shitty cash grab port.
Really Hope that Capcom can pool resources to build one good base platform that provide online service for such games. Might be more efficient and last longer. Personally I think it's a good idea to make each game a DLC,but I dunt understand why make more than 1 platform.
All the fun of Golden Axe (complete with half naked, well oiled human barbarian) , Streets of Rage, Metal Slug, Battle Axe , and Wild Guns. Do yourself a favor and play this with a controller , put on some headphones to enjoy the tunes, and relive those classic Friday evenings after school playing your Genesis until 3:00AM.
I give this 4.5 fireworks out of 5!
what your name hero?
Cute Elf: Eddie Murphy
Fun classic beat 'em up. Not balanced in the slightest. Gives you that real authentic quarter eating arcade game you'd save up your weekly allowance for. Worth the buy!
Nostalgic Game
Old school game with a lot of memories in Arcade center when younger!
Игры похожие на Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara
