Gameplay 3/10
Well, it’s supposed to be one of its biggest points, but it’s also one of its biggest flaws: the crafting system. Don’t misunderstand me. The crafting part is nice, but it’s basically crafting the same thing repeatedly but with upgraded parts until you have the best version of what you had at the beginning. You pretty much want to craft and experience everything, but the micromanage of the inventory will prevent that, which will eventually lead you to simply focus on one item (the boomerang for example) and let you forget or lose interest in others. Besides that, the fighting is nice but gets repetitive extremely fast due to the lack of different enemies. I mean, you have slow zombie that can be fast if you don’t one shot them, or simply fast zombies, or zombies with helmets, or boomers (hi L4D), or crabs (wtf..) or zombie deer (yup, it’s a thing) or super big zombie boss… Like that and on papers, it sounds nice, but the spawning rate is off the chart, which will lead you to have to refight the same spot all over again every time you have to go through the same area and yes, it’s a fetch game (more on that later…) so you WILL go back to the same area, A LOT. Then you will craft a melee weapon which will let you unlock more of the same islands as before, so you can refight the whole bunch of zombies, AGAIN, just to get a new part for an equipment that you already have, but BETTER. This will get tedious, you have been warned…
Graphics 6/10
It’s fine, maybe even more beautiful and polished than expected. The lightning effects are nice, the rain too, and for the price, you can definitely see the effort.
Audio 4/10
Nothing that stands out, no audio bug either, but the parrots and the monkeys (don’t ask) are annoying as f*ck and for that, I take out one point…
Story 4/10
Well… You end up on an island filled with undead and you want to escape so… But why 4/10? Because being treated as a kid and a fetch boy through all the game makes me feel like there was some serious lack of creativity in that departement. The fetching part is SO frustrating that it will makes you completely forget why you’re doing this in the first place.
Replayability 6/10
Well, there is 3 or 4 (?) characters that you can choose from to play the game, each with its own set of skills to help you but in the end, it won’t change a lot since it’s still a crafting game, where you WILL craft the best items so…
Innovation 5/10
I think all and all, they tried to mixed a lot of cool ideas (zombies, crafting, co-op possibilities) but failed to deliver perfectly in each aspect, which left me with a sense of disappointment and turned those ideas into chores sessions playing.
Overall 5/10
It depends. If you’re a fan of zombies and killing them non stop because you have to fetch water to a random grandma in a place you went 300 times before, fine. Doing it with friends in short session might be fun and the price is definitely a big bonus, but besides that… Nah man, don’t. You have much better gaming options elsewhere. Basically, it’s the kind of game that stands on the edge of yes and no, a 5/10 game, where it depends on your taste, your preferences and your patience.
Haven't played for years and it's just as good as I remember. Absolute gem. Goat.
That's undoubtedlly one of the greatest rpg with strategy elements that can be played in coop through all campaign. Do not skip without playing with your wife :D
How to Survive is a fun zombie survival game with a good crafting system and co-op play, but it can feel repetitive and lacks real challenge. It’s a good casual game for short sessions, especially in co-op, but might not hold your attention long if played solo. :)

It's impossible to play co-op... When I join a friend or he joins me, the game freezes and nothing helps.

man this castle miner z and charlie murder is all you ever needed on the 360 they are so fun alright this game is great its definately an 360 era gem the combat is great the maps(i think theyres 6 or 7 with dlc) are great and the lore is ass but its lore so its not that big of a deal and the bosses are ok same big zombie but they get diffrent attacks with each time you meet them overall 8/10 great game you should 100% give it a try it holds up great nowadays dlc not so sure never played it but i aint reviewing the dlc am i

It's basic but it's cheap and fun.
The crafting system keeps you hooked as you upgrade your armor and weapons throughout the game via all the random items you find.
The end fight was quite annoying but other than that it didnt outstay its welcome.
This game be so fine, like a sloppy whopper fresh off the griddle

How to Survive is a blast to play with a friend, especially at night for that extra spooky atmosphere. The teamwork and survival challenges make it thrilling and memorable—perfect for fans of cooperative zombie games!
A somewhat janky zombie survival game. Combat is mostly boring. After I accidentally crafted a boomerang, I had no real reason to use anything else. At first, I tried to craft a flamethrower, but it was too hard for me to track all the ingredients randomly thrown around inexpressive islands without a proper map of transitions. The story is neither immersive nor entertaining and the "sudden twists" have no real weight to them.
Sadly, I can't find any features that would let me earnestly recommend this game to anyone.

Terrible game with too many soft locks and annoy characters. Kovak is the only person worth a damn. Playing this game is a damn chore.
