The game in a nutshell:
"Oh no Batman needs a weapon how can you help him?"
It was better as a puzzle game, this is just a simple task sim. Just buy Unlimited.
Feels rushed, its not terrible but unlimited was so much better. I would love a new one or atleast port the first two to pc
This is the best game i have ever played 10 out of 10 would recommend
Diving back into the world of Scribblenauts Unmasked was a nostalgic trip for me! As someone who's working through the backlog of games on my account, I came across this gem and decided to give it another go. I remember playing it when I was younger, and it always fascinated me how you could type anything and it would appear in the game. The concept is still as fun and imaginative as I remembered.
While the game is light-hearted and enjoyable, I noticed that some of the quests are a bit more complicated than you'd expect, making it suitable for both kids and adults. It's not just a children's game; it requires a bit of thought and creativity to solve some of the puzzles. This blend of challenge and fun is what keeps it engaging.
Although there are aspects that could have been improved, and I wish there were more games like this targeted toward adults, I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough. It brought back so many memories and was a great way to revisit a classic. Plus, achieving all the in-game milestones was a satisfying bonus.
Overall, Scribblenauts Unmasked remains a solid game that's both entertaining and creatively stimulating. If you haven't tried it yet, or if you loved it as a kid and want to relive those memories, I say go for it!
They took a perfect frame that was the first game and made so many adjustments that this was a slog to get through - farming currencies to progress, focus on combat. If you like DC get while on discount.
Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure
I LOVE THIS GAME
Cons: The story and quests are largely lack luster. I wish some effort was put in to make quest for specific characters (perhaps by using tags to have bat family specific quests or green lanter ones) instead of randomly generated ones. Some are more handcrafted, but most feel random. Most of the characters are mechanically very similar. I wish there was some more interesting character dynamics (although there are tons of cool easter eggs like batman not using guns and green arrows chili)
Pros: It's scribblenauts! You can make almost anything and if its not already in the game you can make it. The wide variety of character designs and general simplicity makes most custom characters fit right in. I made my whole dnd crew, a bunch of x-men, some newer/missing dc characters, and a ton of other random guys and they fit seemlessly.
this game fucking haunted my childhood. i played it when i was like 15 so this is what i remember from it: the game requires hyperspecific bullshit answers for every problem and has such contrived scenarios that actually drove me insane. i hate this game, i genuinely hate it and every time i see it in my steam library i get another wave of rage. fuck this game
i created a child and fed it to batman 10/10 game
this game is fun and ı spawned exalibur lol
Just buy the Unlimited. In this game the random missions have reset making the thinking and returning not existing and seeing a not finished in another are is a imersion break, limit the use of the same words is a good idea but bad implemented because u need to use money to it, the atmosfere is more DC than Scribblenauts and the quests is more Scribblenauts than DC, making the game a strange mix up and not a good crossover.
⠀
Took me 30 minutes to get it to launch. Once I got it to launch, it would repeatedly crash before I could even get past the tutorial. Yeowch.
I knew nothing of the DC super heroes (or villains) going into this so at first it was a little difficult, however, I learned WAY more from this game about the DC universe and in a fun interactive way! I loved working hard to 100% the game
Scribblenauts Unmasked – Superhero Chaos, Now on a Bigger Screen
Scribblenauts Unmasked on the 3DS was a blast—mixing creativity with DC Comics nerdiness in the palm of your hands? Instant win. Now it’s on Steam, and it still holds up. The writing’s charming, the comic book vibes are strong, and summoning Batman with a flaming jetpack never gets old.
Sure, the gameplay’s still pretty simple—solve puzzles by typing in random stuff—but that’s the magic. You can get as silly or clever as you want. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s fun, and now with better resolution and smoother performance, it feels like giving your childhood a well-deserved upgrade.
Score: 7.5/10 – Still goofy, still fun, now with less eye strain.
got punished for thinking outside the box in a creativity-based game
that among the empty feeling makes this game hard to recommend
Whilst it may be the worst in the franchise, the worst of scribblenauts is still worth a play.
RIP 5th cell. Warner bros ur mishandling of this studio into dust is a scar upon gaming itself. ;-;
Scribblenauts was borderline unplayable. It wouldn’t work if I wasn’t clicked into the game or something because it kept crashing. And even after that, Scribblenauts isn’t that fun of a game to play by yourself. The concept is great, but all you end up doing is walking around and typing guns. The DC branding doesn’t even do much, and it gets boring quickly.
Game is good but too many crashes. So, not recommended 👎
I remember playing this kid on my Ipod as a little kid and it still holds up. It's very creative but I can also see how it would get boring after awhile. It's fun a few games but gets tiring after awhile, there's no real motive other than the story mode that's not much of a story, however, I still recommend it. It will always have special memories for me.
it keeps on crashing
Super Fun, underrated Scribblenauts game!
I love this game!! It made me love DC and it's sooo cool to be a superhero and create your own stuff in the DC world! I also got it on sale for $2.99 :D
I would recommend playing this AFTER you play Scribblenauts Unlimited btw
Crashing every few words, not worth the stress
The game was enjoyable, even without me liking superheros. Alot of fun and creative stuff you can spawn in and a nice short story but it does unfortunately get very repetitive as every mission is essentially copy and pasted and the final achievements were a hassle. I give it a 6/10
The hero creator does not work, it keeps crashing whenever I try to script the object.
Scribblenauts Unlimited is not just a game for me. it's a creative learning tool. I introduced this game to my sister and to my child as a way to make learning English early, engaging, and fun. It has its unique gameplay mechanics that allows players to type in almost any word and watch it come to life in a charming cartoon world.
My sister like it but my boy love it and still play it till 8 years old. He finish the game many times.
I am really thankful to this game. This game really made learning english fun for many child with english as second language.
Pros:
+ Gameplay is fun
+ Lots of DC Comics Characters to choose from
+ Performance is great and visuals are slick
+ Ambitious Soundtrack
+ A great amount of maps to play on
+ Many Objects and Adjectives to use from Maxwell's Notebook
Cons:
- Some Story Missions are confusing
Just some good wholesome clean fun.
Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure is the ultimate geek crossover, blending the chaos of Maxwell’s magical notebook with the sprawling, lore-rich universe of DC Comics. As a hardcore DC fan and collector, this game feels like an all-you-can-eat buffet of Easter eggs, obscure characters, and deep cuts from the comics. Want to summon Ambush Bug? Go for it. Feel like pitting Anti-Monitor against Mogo the Living Planet? The game has you covered. It’s not just a game—it’s a celebration of everything DC, lovingly rendered in charming, blocky graphics. It even manages to sneak in a little education for kids (and some adults), teaching them English vocabulary while they accidentally learn the difference between Pre-Crisis Superman and Post-Crisis Superman. Genius, really.
For die-hard DC fans, the sheer depth of the character roster is both mind-blowing and a badge of geekdom. The game isn’t just about Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman (though they’re here in spades); it also includes Nth Metal, Starro, and, yes, even Kite Man. Hell yeah! It’s the perfect sandbox to explore the DC Universe in hilarious and unexpected ways. Watching Mr. Mxyzptlk summon chaos or solving puzzles with Alfred Pennyworth wielding a giant wrench never gets old. And for younger players, it’s a crash course in DC mythology wrapped in fun, creative problem-solving. For us seasoned fans? It’s a gleeful tribute to the stories and characters we’ve obsessed over for years. Scribblenauts Unmasked isn’t just a game; it’s a geek’s dream come true.

Simple but quite fun. I really like this for a good time easy game when I need to wind down.
I do enjoy the other Scribblenauts more but this is still fun
goated
i love scribbling my nauts
Like the first one but you can spawn in 15 different versions of the flash.
Honestly not a big fan of the superhero bit.
spawn stuff in and cause mayhem or beat the game like a normal person
TOO MANY BUGS
While I love the idea and concept of this game and it has some really great personality, it is made very lackluster and I feel it didnt get the effort it deserved, it has many problems including crashing, many bugs, a boring currency system, and horrible checkpoint system, but I still had fun with it from time to time
Game can't be launched on Windows 11
Crashes whenever you open the encyclopeda, waste of money
Play it its really funny but you cant blend people in the game
Easy to play, they add a lot of new item and vocab than previous game
Maxwell can canonically solo superman AND batman.
one of the greatest games of all time, should've won Game Of The Year
the last part is pain but is good game
She scribble on my nauts
I am a little bit torn whether I should give positive or negative review here. I will stay with positive, because I just really liked and was waiting long time to play that kind of game to write and create objects. However I just did not like mechanic to grind points to unlock levels and costumes. Grind was really tedious with repetitive tasks to do. Multiplier x2 was help there, but sometimes I was not able to make all tasks with additional rules. Also that 50% for using words more than once was a little bit stupid. First game (Scribblenaut Unlimited) was so much better than this one at least in my opinion.
