Excellent tower defense game. Simple and refined while still offering a decent challenge to advanced players. The achievments are easy enough.
You have to perform the strategy and mental problem-solving live and react in the moment. It is a game, and it is enjoyable, but do not underestimate the reactive problem-solving that you can develop when playing it.

Awesome game. I've been eyeing it for a bit and got sucked into it after trying it out on Armor Games. Love me some Tower Defense Games :)!
Very enjoyable classic tower defense game. Feels balanced with rewarding progression. Artwork with small heartfelt details and funny references. Clarity is never lost which is great.
If you like tower defense this is very much recommended. If you think it's boring and slow, you can use heroes to maximize your apm ;)

Kingdom rush is a solid well made tower defense game with a issue about difficulty. It was really solid until the difficulty began to creep up. At first it was one or two enemies slipping past, but it quickly became impossible to properly shield your base by wave 2. Unless there was a hidden upgrade system beyond what I saw, there was no way to actually do the game well without micromanaging your towers and units. Even on casual difficulty the game might as well be on hard mode.

A classic of the tower defence genre. Simple and easy to understand, four tower types plus your choice of hero unit to freely move around to where they are needed. Having 100% of the achievements across the whole series, I love this game, and this series. Pick it up if you are looking for a fun and simple defence game.

I played this tower defense on mobile and had to buy it on Steam. I have played all Kingdom Rush series and I love them, especially the easter eggs a references on many things.
Hate that pandemonia level or whatever the fuck it is called, otherwise good game

After playing it for free half a dozen times well over a decade ago on Kongregate I finally got it on Steam. Kingdom Rush is just a really, really solid tower defense game. The art style is adorable and easy to read, the little events around the map are a nice addition, the towers all feel distinct and have their place, and each stage offers a nice selection of difficulties and challenge modes. Very rarely does it feel like there is only one way to complete a stage and very rarely do you not know which tower type to place in a spot.
Unlike the free version from years ago, this one allows you to (eventually) choose from a selection of heroes without costing stars (also used for upgrades). There's a wide selection of heroes, you'll have no issue finding one you like.
The post-campaign stages are mostly great. They're definitely a step up in difficultly with larger waves and new enemy types, but still enjoyable. This is where you start to feel a little limited with tower placement as a number of these stages do feel like you have to build a certain tower in a certain spot. It sort of becomes more of a puzzle to solve, at least for the first couple of waves until you can branch out your defense. The only 'bad' stages (in the whole game) are the final two demon ones. Their difficulty is significantly harder and it's no surprise that there are video guides on Youtube for them with comment sections filled with thankful players.
Despite those last two stages, the game is still fantastic. It's still enjoyable after all these years even with several campaign completions. Anyone that enjoys tower defense will love it.
From Uruguay comes one of the greatest tower defense games ever made (and a cult classic of the armor games days!), made by people that love way to much warcraft and starcraft.
The iconic artstyle (who ever since has been copy to death by other developers), the smooth and addictive gameplay, the memorable towers are some of the main reasons why this game is loved.
You cant go wrong with this one, give it a chance and venture yourself to this colorful and beloved world!

One of the best tower defense games of all time. An incredbily charming game with very satisfying gameplay that gets you thinking. You get bonus points if you played this on Armor Games like I did in 2012.
I like this game and I play it a lot. I am unable to get past the first 10 games as it becomes more and more difficult as you play the chapters. I like it because it really challenges me and because, until the more complex games, I have developed the necessary tactics to succeed against a real challenge.
I don't remember years ago how this came to me in Flash, but I found it so addictive that I searched more about, and sequels, and then bought them all (that is how good games sell without DRM, just because people WANT more). For someone never liked this simplified subgenre in strategy, I enjoyed this and it's sequels, and still repeating time to time, when I want some fun smashing waves.
Criticism:
I read some valid criticism, like "Tesla towers are OP"; and a dev confirmed that; I don’t know if it was patched at this moment but I didn’t feel the necessity to spam one type of tower over others. Another is "It's a puzzle system to solve in one only way"; but there are videos beating the same maps in different ways; maybe there is one 'better' strategy as in most games, but not the only. Another is "Need to farm maps and challenges to fill your skill tree for harder levels"; in strategy this can be valid, but I'm used to RPGs, and for me is a natural way in how progression works.
Pros:
- The art design is simple and recognizable in Warcraft style.
- It is dynamic; you always want to continue next map.
- Choices to placement and forks in tower progression.
- The music perfectly matches the movement of the creatures.
- It challenges to find how to deal with different threats and maps.
- Long, re-playable, and you want to re-play.
Cons:
- Nothing relevant I can tell.

- Official mod support!
Wish:
- An all-in-one version that merges all the games in the series.
Conclusion:
A must-have in the tower defense genre.
This game is one of the best in the series it begun the series its long replayble even after 100% completing it it will for ever be in my heart were the gaming begun on the flash games and now there are like 9 kingdom rush games time flies like this game if you don't buy it then go hang yourself what a beautiful game it is.

A very fun tower defense that makes you be active during the entire run, depending on your playstyle you barely have time to look away without getting overwhelmed.

The best tower defense games, period. And the best thing ever to play on the Steam Deck. I played these games on mobile (and loved them) but the Steam versions are way better. Bigger screen, no microtransactions, easier to see, touchscreen capable on the Deck, better sound. I've played a ton of tower defense games and none are as addictive as the Kingdom Rush games. You can get hundreds of hours out of the full series! (And really, Steam Deck is worth buying for these games alone).

Really difficult (playing veteran trying to 100%)
Downside is you have to find guides for some assistance on the challenges. but overall its fun and youll get a lot of time out of it for the price.
if you are looking for tower defense games this game and its sequels are most likely the best games of the genre. its easy at first but some maps are actually difficult and require thought out strategies, especially if playing on harder difficulties. and ofc it is fun.
