I like it.
Hello I have played every kingdom rush and this one is very good for the first and I highly recomend it. There are many cool heroes. The gameplay is very good, although the bomb tower is basically useless, except agains't spiders, and the mage tower is the most powerful tower. It has challenging levels and bosses and I have 237 hours currently so it is really good, it isn't too hard and I found it very relaxing. You can play it on harder settings of course. Compared to the rest this one is my second favorite out of them all.

Personally I think Kingdom Rush series is the GOAT of Tower Defense Games and it all started with this game right here.
Bought the Kingdom Rush series bundle when it was on winter sale even tho I already played/completed some of the games (including this one) on mobile a couple years ago.
This amazing series started with this game, Kingdom Rush 1, a classic, this game itself is super fun with a lot of variety levels and heroes.
Game feels super smooth and fun to play, with a lot of achievements to complete, I never felt bored while playing it and for the players who are new to the genre it can become quite challenging to complete all levels in veteran difficulty.
Personally this one is one of my favorites of the franchise and in all Tower Defense games.

Extremely Fantastic Game i used to play when i was little :)
Out of all the Kingdom Rush titles I've played, this one has lasted the test of time the worst. There are a lot of features later games have this one would desperately need.
Biggest cons:
-Old tower progression system
-Heroes do not retain their levels
-There is no gem shop

-On easier difficulties the campaign is fairly easy to complete

I didn't grow up with this game in the series, it would be the second game that I played all the time. The first game may be simple, but still fun.
one of the best tower defense and even if it's a pioneer of the genre still holds up well nowadays standing strong. If anything is a bit short but really challenging with 3 different modes for each and the future entries refine the formula and offer interesting variations. The charm, humour and challenge made it for a memorable experience. 9/10, 100% recommended
The first version of the flash game was the best. No heroes, no dlc, no kongregate tie in nonsense. But, this steam version is better than the current flash version, so thumbs up.
A true classic that stands the test of time. Those optional objectives are TOUGH.
having so few options for towers means that a skilled player must place more than one tesla coil each map. three, mayhaps.

I thought I didn't like this kind of game but I'm absolutely hooked. As a game designer myself, I can barely complain about anything beyond a few, minor UX flaws.
Kingdom rush is one of my favorite games, the greatest tower defense option in art, story, playability, and overall fun, even when repeating the campaign. You can find innumerable ways to challenge yourself or just enjoy the story, very very fun.
Been playing this since the old days when it was on Newgrounds. It was great then, and it's great now.
Pretty sure you can play this for free on mobile, but have to pay to unlock heroes.
Heroes are free with the steam purchase, but have to progress through the game to unlock them.
If you like this one, give Origins/Frontiers a go. Equal if not better quality
An awesome game with lots of neat secrets and good strategy required to beat all the levels
It was a very fun and challenging game, The art was great it serious but also Cartoony, the enemies were very good, and the bosses were very amazing, they had good designs and their levels were hard. There were also plenty of levels and many heroes for you to play. Though now, It'd be nice for an update like a new mini campaign.
Nostalgic, and a gold standard for TD. Highly recommend.

You have to perform the strategy and mental problem-solving live and react in the moment. It is a game, and it is enjoyable, but do not underestimate the reactive problem-solving that you can develop when playing it.

Very enjoyable classic tower defense game. Feels balanced with rewarding progression. Artwork with small heartfelt details and funny references. Clarity is never lost which is great.
If you like tower defense this is very much recommended. If you think it's boring and slow, you can use heroes to maximize your apm ;)
great game been playing on PC and mobile for a long time. would recommend for anyone who is looking for a well rounded and great Tower Defense game!
Kingdom rush is a solid well made tower defense game with a issue about difficulty. It was really solid until the difficulty began to creep up. At first it was one or two enemies slipping past, but it quickly became impossible to properly shield your base by wave 2. Unless there was a hidden upgrade system beyond what I saw, there was no way to actually do the game well without micromanaging your towers and units. Even on casual difficulty the game might as well be on hard mode.

-Engine was upgraded years after release

-Difficulty is way too high even on casual
