i mean its a good game and everything but theres only 9 heists and its really boring
The first Left for Dead, but instead of zombies there are police and special forces, and instead of fury masks there are clown masks
i suck at this game
servers sao uma merda tudo bugado
Fun heist-shooter from before the 3rd game ruined everything
Payday 2 but better with less heist's
Not Best Graphics could be upgraded but great gameplay very realistic just love it
just loan from a bank with a fake identity.
well if you dont want to be charged with fruad of course.
PAYDAY offers the illusion of rebellion against financial systems while functioning as another cog in digital capitalism's extraction machine. You'll feel the rush of virtual criminality while remaining perfectly docile to actual power structures—exactly as intended. The perfect product: sells anti-establishment fantasy while reinforcing establishment control.
Payday: The Heist is an Unforgiving Co-op game that will ask of you a lot
this game is hard, even on the lowest difficulty you are extremely squishy and you'll live and die by your positioning and knowledge about maps, enemies and most importantly your team
the gameplay is incredible, even today nearing 15 years since its release it boasts great gunplay (even if i think the animations on the guns are a bit lacking and borderline broken on certain guns)
the main gameplay loop is very fun, the tools you have will only get you so far though, the sucess of your heists fully depend on how in tune you are with your team, unless you are playign with bots (which i wouldnt recommend for obvious reasons)
theres 9 maps, which may sound like theyre not many at all, but youll be fighting for your life on these until you get good upgrades or learn how to play, theres also elemets of RNG which makes sure you stay on your toes for possible bad spots youll have to play around
the enemies are extremely dangerous in any scenario , tasers can catch you in a bad spot while repositioning, cloakers will block your vision with smoke and silently take you down or cuff you, shields will make sure you dont get comfortable in any spot, and the bulldozers are total showstoppers if you let them get close
the crew of characters is tight, and their performances are great, especially when thigns get dire
one of my favorite aspects of pdth is the incredible music of simon viklund (who also voices bain)
the songs are dark and distorted, they really put a lot of empasis on this sort of sinister and unnatural sounds every heist has its own and it adds so much ambiance to the experience
over all, i think payday the heis is a very solid game, even when looking at it from playing 2 (like i imagine msot of the people checkign this game out did), the game still has its own charm in how "grounded" it feels contrasting to 2 or even 3
try it out with your friends, its plenty cheap most of the time
I never had the first one since Payday 2 on the PS3 and i actually liked it.
Payday has hard qualities and teamwork as royal heisters. I worked hard for this.
Payday doesn't feature a safehouse but was mentioned after a successful heist. Payday 2 on the other hand features a safehouse with a great amount of cash.
very good if you have friends, if not the bots are fucking trash. po
It's just like PAYDAY 2 except it fits and runs on my computer
If you enjoy shooting npc's 20+ times before they die this is the game for you... except hostages, you instakill them! bad game, don't get ti.
I feel like I'm looking at the career of a promising child actor and this is their first movie, Sadly this movie appears to be Home alone.
This is where it all began
This is where the heisting started
This is where Dallas began his crippling Medic Bag addiction
10/10 would heist again
It's great.
The game is quite dead tho, it's hard finding people to play.
I want to make this clear, once you start finding matches and adding people to your friend list it is really easy to start matches, the community is nice and close, they ALWAYS accept your invitations.s
Payday: The Heist, or shall I say the poor man's Payday 2.
On it's own, if you get past the jank of the Diesel Engine (which you might be used to by now if you're coming from 2) and the weird controls (arrow keys to switch guns etc.) this game is a very solid 7/10.
The only two aspects this game beats out from Payday 2 is the difficulty actually being hard, and the heisters communicating with Bain and each other during certain moments in the heist, granted this is only feasible due to having 4 playable characters. But the heavy inspiration from L4D shows.
Sadly, this game's community only tops around 40 people during peak hours in my observation. So get this if you want a complete Payday collection, or gift a few copies to your friends as well if your timezone doesn't fall into said peak hours.
However, if you *can* play during peak hours this is a very good subsitute for Payday 2 if your PC can't run it like me. Do not forget to install DAHM as it has built in anti-cheat, bug fixes, and other goodies.
For me it's the best PAYDAY game that has ever been made. I enjoy this one way more than PAYDAY 2, and PAYDAY 3 is just a big NO for me. I totally recommend this game to anyone.
It's for the hardcore players. The real deal for ya lads that want their painday.
With LUA modding such as DAHMhud, community weapon skins/models, masks, and music packs, and a peer-to-peer (sort of!) connection keeping games still available on the regular, PAYDAY: The Heist is one of the more focused, team-based shooters still on the market. It continues as a tech playground for modders and will live on long after servers are disconnected on competing titles. Mods don't disable achievements either unless they explicitly state so.
It is difficult. It takes a long time to unlock everything. The DLC is borderline necessary. But it's still PAYDAY, it's not drowned out in licensing and cheaters. (Okay, there's a couple cheaters.)
At any given time, there's between 30-100 people playing. You can find a game an see what the original was all about.
First few hours of this game, I thoroughly enjoyed those 2 hours in PAYDAY: The Heist. The graphics although dated, is charming, the gameplay, although also dated, is also charming, this game, no matter how old this game is, I still think its really charming and entertaining.
Good, but buy it on a sale, as the sequel is cheaper and overall better.
Comparing it to the latest release in the PAYDAY franchise, I can certainly say that this is a better experience than PAYDAY 3 for a plethora of reasons. One being the 'completeness' of the game. This game has stood the test of time and still is quite fun to play. The atmosphere of the game feels much darker than its successors and it embraces that feeling to give it the authentic heisting feel. The characters have an abundance of interactions with the heist itself such as commenting that the Bank Manager isn't here or there. The system to upgrade your specialty takes some getting used to but it works. The enemies are a whole lot more challenging to face compared to their Payday 2 and Payday 3 variants and Payday The Heist demands more cover utilization and planning to succeed. Of course, the soundtrack is always amazing.
🎭 "The game that started it all." 🎭
PAYDAY: The Heist is where the iconic mask-donning, cash-grabbing mayhem began. While it’s not as refined or expansive as its sequel, this game is a testament to how much fun four-player co-op heists can be. It’s raw, chaotic, and bursting with potential—laying the foundation for what would become a legendary series.
Pros:
✅ Tight, Focused Experience: Each heist feels unique, with standout missions like "Heat Street" and "No Mercy."
✅ Pure Co-op Fun: Grab three friends, and you’re in for a great time. Coordinating your escape while under fire is a rush.
✅ No-Nonsense Gameplay: There’s no grinding for skills or gear. You jump right into the action with what you’ve got.
✅ Atmosphere: The music and gritty visuals capture the intensity of a high-stakes heist.
Cons:
❌ Limited Progression: Compared to PAYDAY 2, there’s less customization and fewer weapons.
❌ Clunky Mechanics: AI and controls can feel dated, and the lack of polish is noticeable at times.
❌ Solo Play is Rough: Without friends, the experience isn’t as engaging, as AI companions are... "special."
Final Thoughts:
PAYDAY: The Heist is a nostalgic trip back to the roots of this beloved series. It’s a little rough around the edges, but the adrenaline-pumping action and iconic mission design still hold up for fans of co-op shooters. If you’re curious about where it all began or just want a more straightforward heist experience, this is the game to play.
💵 Rating: 7/10 – A diamond in the rough, and still worth cracking the vault for.
amazing game, love the heists we are given and it was definitely a challenging game when it wants to be
If you just want to go heisting solely because of Heister or Map Variety - happen to find things like Perk Decks or Throwables interesting - or just happen to be a newcomer to the Payday Franchise, and want something much easier to pickup and play -> I would recommend picking up Payday 2 instead - even without DLC.
Every Heist here is already available in Payday 2 - and besides the Wolf Pack DLC Heists (which either way are paid DLC) - all are freely available in that game.
However - if you're someone who is more willing to play for the gameplay - especially if you're someone that hasn't played Payday 2 in awhile, but still have the experience, I genuinely do recommend trying this game out.
It may not be the most in depth game, but the difficulty will practice you to actually play more tactically, rather than aggressive and actively moving. Think of The Heist as more of a cover shooter.
The Level Up System also is a bit weirdly unexplained, but understandable once you understand it. In the Tab Menu, you can choose between four (three if you didn't get Wolf Pack DLC) different trees. Those trees offer various buffs - or possibly new weapons & deployables to explore with.
While it took me awhile to learn that properly, it makes the process of leveling up more streamlined and trivial to understand.
There's other smaller things - like the more gritty artstyle, the differences in AI, and the higher difficulty at the start slowly flattening out - but as a whole, if you don't know whether to give it a try or not - reminder that Steam gives two hours to trial a game with opportunity to refund.
While the graphics and animations do look dated, the voice acting was done VERY well, and how the voice acting was used makes me feel immersed! The difficulty scaling is reasonable, suprisingly. My only gripe is the progression system, lack of having your own build and that the menu screen is not very interactable.
We all know Payday 2 have more contents, but Payday The Heist still remain my favorite entry in this series.
Played this game back in 2013 ish with not-legit copy, finally bought it legit and playing with other players (you may find several ppl playing online). The grittier atmosphere, and the tense gameplay (the dozer in this game hit bricks) won me over, just 4 heisters trying to make quick money without
History Channel at 3 AM plot twist on PD2.
The ammo management may be harder but you can save ammo by headshotting, The difficulty is much different compared to PD2, in this game most of time you would shoot and cover. No perk decks, no skills tree. Just simplified one of perk that you need to get. Unlocking upgrades in this game felt satisfying.
The soundtrack still hold up. Thanks Simon Viklund!
Payday: The Heist is tougher than Payday 2, with tasers and dozers posing a genuine challenge. The intense difficulty keeps you on edge, making every heist feel like a real test of skill and teamwork.

i like how cloakers chase me across the map just to curbstomp me. 10/10!
(id say i got this for free because i got it for less than a dollar)
much more serious than the sequel, if you like the sequel, give this a shot!
repeat just shooting not fun why there is no stealth option
i cant find the crowbar on counterfeit 0/10
PDTH is a true serious shooter, unlike PAYDAY 2
I stopped playing PAYDAY 2 since 2019. The amount of DLC the game has like jesus (especially with the state of PAYDAY 3). So when I saw this game being on sale for only 1,50 euro I was hooked on it, let me explain:
- The first game shows a more "realistic" vibe to it than the second game, relying on your teammates and coordination
- The Bulldozer is a living PTSD
- When Bain warns you about SWAT sending a Tazer/Cloaker/Bulldozer/Shield you better be ready
- There's no heist relying on stealing goats filled with funny white powder that they consumed (lmao)
- The soundtrack is more grunge with some relevance to the movie Heat
- There's still people making mods for this game so i recommend checking that out
In conclusion, I just wanted to make an excuse after i was done with the second game and wanted to try out the one made for the real OGs because It really is a good game with personality and because I watched the movie which made me love every moment of it lol.
Very fun game especially with your brother or friend.
10/10 reccomended for players who have played thief simulator, and 10/10 reccomended if you are into crime games + you have friends or brothers.
The AI in this game is so good, if these guys made a chatbot it'd be called Ben Shapiro
Also when you headshot someone with a visor the glass breaks 15/10
Es mejor que el 2 y no tengo miedo de decirlo
Además huele a limón
The cops are like L4D2 infected and don't stop coming. The cloakers are fair and the bulldozer is a menace. It's better than the second one for sure. Especially the fact that there's a L4D1 mission as well.
PAYDAY: THE HEIST may have 9 missions but they are really hard on overkill or hard, the game feels more realistic, guns hit harder, specials are actually high priority targets
there is a clocker around here.
had more fun playing Payday: The Heist than playing Payday 3
Es un bueno juego solo SI, se juega online o con amigos, los bots son malucos como compañeros te toca hacer prácticamente todo y así es un poco difícil (pero no imposible)
pretty fun.
LOL No. so very unreal. 5000000000000000000000000000000000000000 cops... you have 2 mags...choose wisely. What a joke, playing this with friends becomes laughable. Yeah if you get this on 2 dollar sale sure go for it. So unrealistic, COD is more realistic than this game. The Reload is soo clunky, Its like a couple of 8 year olds decided to rob a bank in a city with the worlds largest police force. They are having Planes full of cops flown in one after another from across the planet because even in real life you have a better chance at surviving with a sling shot and a broken hand than in this game.
One of the best games I've ever played!
Recommend
better than payday 3, 10/10
It has grit and fun within this game
