Murdered: Soul Suspect is basically a walking simulator, but a really fun one!

You can help the living while being dead, and to me it feels somewhat. Wholesome.

The story is not very long, but it is very good.

This Game was way ahead of its time and my first Detective game.

When THE FATHER glitches, just TURN ON or TURN OFF the V-SYNC option in OPTIONS menu. It should help FIX the problem.

If you like solving mysteries, you may like this game. The problem are the in between mechanics: Combat demons, move to other stages that feels repetitive and a LOT of collectibles, like over 170. If you find fun in getting all the collectibles, this is ideal for you.

The Good -
+ Good story and Interesting characters
+ Nice atmosphere and music
+ Visually holds up even 10 years later
+ Game feels and plays like a true detective game,like how real life detectives would solve cases.Finding clues and then letting the player figure things out on their own and solve the case.Felt good when i solved them all.
+ The lore in game is expanded via collectable which also act like codex entries which also flesh out the game further.The drawback is that there are more than 200+ collectables in the game.So up to the player whether they want to get them or not.Usually i view this much collectable as a negative but here it adds to the game with lore entries so i gave it a pass here.
+ The game can be 100% completed in a single run play through.

The Bad -

- The character model of MC hits an invisible wall of sorts as well as freeze for a second or two when you quickly change his movements/actions as well as feel a bit sluggish.
- Game breaking priest bug in the Church level which literally ruined my experience and stopped me from making further progress in the game.this should have been fixed ages ago by the developers.But nope,this still exists.Had to look at a steam guide for a fix.Also after applying said fix,the main area in the Church level near the level exit,is blurred as if the game hadn't loaded the textures properly.Also fix for this mentioned in steam guide.
- The demons combat section where you hide from them and stealth kill them was unnecessary in my opinion.They should have done it away altogether.
- Some collectables are not saved by the game automatically and must be reacquired if restarting from checkpoint.

Despite its flaws,its a good 7/10 game for me.Not all games have to be 8/10 or 9/10.

I generally don't like the term "hidden gem" because I feel it usually gets incorrectly applied to games that the majority of people have actually heard of and celebrate. In this case, however, I think it fits the bill. Nobody talked about this game when it released and nobody talks about it now, but it's a phenomenal supernatural murder mystery that deserves to be played by anyone intrigued by the genre.

The gameplay reminds me of a mix of Life is Strange and the Sherlock games. You're not so much solving mysteries yourself through deduction, but rather using your powers to reveal clues that the game then stitches together for you as it reveals more of the narrative. A narrative which, to be honest, surprised me with its quality. The story, characters, and voicework was head-and-shoulders above what I was expecting. In the 8-10ish hours I played the game I never lost interest, and I was always eager to see what came next. There's so many games to play these days that I find it difficult sometimes to commit to just one, but this one hooked me from the get-go.

This game regularly goes on sale for like 2 bucks, and it is genuinely one of the best uses of your money that I can think of at that pricepoint. Fans of mystery, history, and the supernatural all owe it to themselves to play this.

So when the Xbox 360 marketplace was shutting down, I happened to grab this game for dirt cheap, probably around the same price as on sale right now during the Winter sale. I avoided this game for a while because most people said it wasn't very good. I played it recently and beat it. Over there it ran pretty decent considering the hardware it had going with minor stutters. I enjoyed it so much that I got it again on Steam and replayed it with uncapped framerates and higher resolution. It's a fun detective type game with collectibles around the game that expand the lore. Not every game has to be 100 hours or online only to be good.

Well worth sale price. It's too bad the devs are no longer around as the studio closed shortly after release. I enjoyed their other game Dark Void as well.

Sidenote: I think this is the first game you get to play as a cat in certain parts of the game, a prototype for Stray methinks. It's too bad they didn't jump on it sooner.

The game was good enough not overly great but no bad either had some cool features and hidden gems but also had annoying features like the demons 6.5/10

I finished it, didn't have any bugs.
The game is pretty easy too but I don't mind and neither should you. ( Got if for a price of a cup of coffe).
It is a ghost story with a dark setting.
The game has a reputation among gamers so I decided to investigate.
I'm glad I did.
The game won't make anyone cream their pants or anything; but it's still a good experience.

This is a hidden gem. Yes some of the character's lines could be better, actually character development as a whole could be better. Regardless, it has Square Enix quality. This is a solid 75/100 experience.

A fun and interesting story full of suspense and discovery. Love the setting and theme of the game. The controls can be mildly wonky and the clues a bit hard to find or don't match the situation. But all in all, the game has an amazing story and setting ive not seen in any other game.

Here are some pros and cons of this game for me

+ It had a different and interesting plot, and it reflected the detective aspect well
+ The design and atmosphere of the game is really nice
+ I can't say the characters are bad and the suspense music in the game wasn't bad either
- I think the idea is good but it doesn't seem to be reflected very well in the game
- The progression of the game is superficial and the ever-increasing tempo can make the game a bit boring
- Lack of action and limited side quests

This is such a great game. The story, characters, and premise are all basically perfect in my opinion. The mechanics and functional gameplay could definitely use some work, but those problems are so far overshadowed by everything else that it didn't even bother me. If you're looking for a game with a unique story and innovative detective gameplay mechanics, I highly recommend this game. It's not flawless, but if you have the ability to overlook a little rough gameplay for the absolute gold underneath, you should give it a try.

Has an amazing story and good world building. Only thing I hate are die enemies, they feel unnecessary to me and it feels like they are only there to make you progressing slower.

Game that feels like it could be much more. The whole thing felt like it was dragging bit too much and gameplay mechanics felt bit clunky and boring. Granted at the time of my play-through this game is already pretty old but still it seems to me like it could have been handled bit better. Visually holds up pretty well tho and voice acting is decent too.

An Action adventure game, more based around the investigation side. I really enjoyed this game and would highly recommend it. I do recommend playing with a controller though the controls are much better.

This is a really great game, and fairly simple controls with a twist on story telling.

i will say that the story is not anything overdone or mind blowing but is interesting and narrative enough to keep you playing. There is not really any combat to the game, and you do have to defend yourself but not in a traditional way. Game is a lot of sneak and hit and patience to get rid of baddies. The game isnt to long either that you will be hurrying to the end.

There are ton of collectables that add to the story and lore of story of what the game is trying to tell. Graphics are solid, but take in effect the game is a bit aged so some of the animations are a little stiff looking. overall i would give the game a 7/10 bc it has enough going on to keep it interesting. One downfall i found really is i found myself going back through a lot areas multiple times and i know that game is a semi free roam with liner story.

Glorified clicker game.

No, seriously, this game doesn't make you feel like a detective at all. There really aren't any puzzles beyond running everywhere collecting clues and having the game figure out everything for you. Though, after collecting all relevant clues for any case, the game does then asks you to link all relevant clues and you get three chances; but really its just an illusion of a test. There really is no penalty for getting something wrong (if at all you can get these easy scenarios wrong) and the story eventually progresses. I really wanted to see the ending because I heard there was a twist, but the slow pace and mundane gameplay turned me off.

Yes, there are good points. The setting is nice and has some historical elements. The night atmosphere coupled with the street lights really set the scene. But otherwise you are surrounded by repeating NPCs which have nothing relevant to tell you. Which brings me to my next critique. The idea you are a ghost and can move about anywhere, inhabit people, and even influence them, sounds like a winning mechanic on paper. Its not executed properly in this game unfortunately. You can't go 'everywhere' as they make up this rule that certain areas cannot be bypassed, and eavesdropping on people serves no point unless its tied to a case. This isn't like that romance movie ghost where you can poltergiest anything and freak people out. Heck, the full potential of a ghost is not tapped into by the character. Which is a shame because I really liked the protaganist. Good backstory, neat getup, and looks cool with all those bullet holes in him.

Lastly, as far as collectibles are concerned, not worth it. So many collectibles but strewn about in the most odd places, you are always left with one missing piece to get the whole. But I learned that even getting the whole doesn't net you anything except 'text' that talks about lore. It would have been a lot better if the prize was a cutscene, a cosmetic item, if not an ability. Nope, just bundle of useless text that got too boring to read through. And I'm someone who loves reading.

Fun short game! I probably could have spent a lot more time running around collecting things, but I just focused on the story.

Rather unique and better than expected. Fun single run investigation game that doesn't over stay its welcome of 7hrs.

An interesting idea and story, ruined by the game's jankyness. The dialogue felt quite off a lot of the times, which just took you out of the game.
The gameplay was simple but unfortunately, not that exciting. The game didn't really punish you for making mistakes, it just let you make all the possible choices, until you chose the right one, which makes the "life-system" when making them, utterly pointless. The demons were more annoying than a challenge, and it felt like they were added to slow you down from finishing the game too quickly.
It was overall a more disappointing experience, rather than a bad one. I guess if you really want to play it, get it when it's on sale, which goes for 1.99

For me, Murdered: Soul Suspect is a game worth playing if you enjoy strong narratives, detective elements, and a supernatural vibe. It’s one of those gaming experiences that feels both memorable and emotionally impactful!

its quite old for gamer's. but, i like the way story goes and detective mode is intrigue. people who like detective and suspense will try this murdered soul suspect.

I really liked the game, that is, until i had to do it all over because i missed a couple of collectibles to get all the achievements. There i wished i could choose which chapter i wanted to do over or just that i could skip all the cutscenes.
besides that it's a good game, if you like to uncover a mystery. The plot isn't one you are going to get surprised by though, but still decent. I enjoyed the first playthrough a lot, the second one, not so much.

To be honest, this felt a lot like a point-and-click game and I'm not a fan of that gender.
Also, the story is not that well developed.

Great story line/Movie vs game play... mostly playing as a detective solving your own murder, but also many other investigations along the way. The story line is very engaging, as in I sometimes will forget I'm playing a game. A lot of puzzle solving/clue finding with some strategic fight planning.

This is a really cool game where you play a ghost who has to solve his own murder. Along the way other ghost's murders get solved as well. This game is one that should not to be missed.

Just an amazing game with a great engaging story, perfectly unnerving environment, very fun and cool gameplay. :) Can't believe I haven't found this game sooner. Loved the creative intro to the story, the main man's design, personality and the perfect voice actor who brought him to life. I know it's an "old" game, but would love to have a similiar, spin of story.

I enjoyed my time as a ghost detective.

Overall i enjoyed this game and i would recommend it.
BUT, and this is a giant but, I did disable the demons as they felt like a badly implemented and forced sneaking gimmick.
If i weren't able to disable them I'm not sure i would have continued playing this.
SO, bearing that in mind this could easily be a game i wouldn't recommend.
If you don't like sneak stuff stay away or disable the demons.
if you don't mind them then id give this a shot.

there were a couple spots with some absolutely B.S. hidden collectibles i had to look up hints on.
to be fair, a couple of the ones i missed were just me being blind.

I did also accidentally sequence break the map and fall into the void due to the world not loading.
(I really should be a play tester)

Also having miss-able collectibles/clues sucks, Devs' please stop doing this.
I missed 2 clues in the cemetery and once i figured out the story part it auto locked me out of getting them.
The only 2 clues i missed in the entire game, btw.

I will say the ending was a bit... well, It felt very abrupt.

Underrated gem. Although, I'm a bit biased, because I first played it on a 360 copy I got for $10 at a "going out of business sale" at Shopko 10 years ago. So, the jump in graphics is super nice and flawless widescreen has fixes to enjoy it in ultrawide.

Fun detective game as you play as a ghost who can explore buildings, possess people to read their minds, among other ghostly powers, to find a break in unsolved cases to help other lost souls find peace. Great atmosphere, writing and voice acting. Sorta short game to breeze through, it doesn't overstay its welcome.

Usually goes on sale for few bucks, absolutely worth it.
