Design and build any structure you can imagine! From mighty and legendary castles to sprawling Bricktron villages. Beware, your Bricktrons will have to take arms and defend themselves against mysterious creatures, the Corruptrons. Build catapults and hurl explosive barrels at the invaders, or lure them into strategically placed traps! The physics system will also challenge the sturdiness of your architecture! A tower whose foundation is destroyed will crumble to the ground realistically.
Castle Story is also a multiplayer experience! Challenge your friends to a round of Conquest or join forces with them to repel the enemies in the Co-Op Invasion gamemode. Of course, you can also group up in sandbox and build together!
The maps in Castle Story are meticulously hand-crafted by the developers and we’re giving you access to the same tool we use! Create your own worlds with our awesome World Editor, share them with the community and try out other player-made maps!

I do like it, but development ended way too quickly. Definitely not worth a purchase anymore; super sad that it went this way, had a ton of potential.
Thought i'd revisit this game but honestly the controls alone make me realise why I stopped playing in the first place. Actually infuriating

It's a fun and semi intense game that needs more content. It's a bit laggy the more you play, and when you try to play with friends. If it's possible can the developers please return to this game, it stands a chance with a few changes.
impossible to play this game because the texts and icons are so small, sorry it didn't look bad but it hurts the eyes too much
Instead of fixing the obvious problem with loading a saved multiplayer game, they are bragging about a new content update instead of fixing the most basic features.
I enjoy the game. If you like resource management on a 3D plane, it might be worth a look. I personally like to just make MASSIVE warehouses.
I would wait for it to go on sale though. The major downsides are the devs do not work on it no more and the multiplayer can be really buggy if you do not know how to work with it. Even when you do, sometimes it just outright crashes for no reason. (Never had a problem with it on single player.)
This game looked really promising. Cutesy, gentle, interesting premise.
But... it drops you into the game with no explanation of the controls or goals, and once I finally managed to find the in-game tutorial, it refused to move past page one (the welcome, this is a tutorial page), and after 90 seconds of trying to move on from there, it crashed to desktop.
I might try it again, one day, if I get sufficiently bored.

Castle building is great, actual combat due to path finding is terribly bugged and frustrating
The game has potential and is fun but I really feel like it is still in beta because there are a lot of bugs especialy with the AI that get worse the more troops you have. Also there are no way to speed up time so end game is really boring and there is missing AI control, for example when my troops take their weapon they always go back to the crystal but what if I have an outpost and now all my troops are running away to main base (unless manually equiped but with 15 people good luck).
Also in build mode there is no description of building or their cost.
Deconstructing buildings is a nightmare and if the troops had an order to repair the zone they will repair the building that I deconstructed myself so I have to fight with the AI when I want to deconstruct a building.
Etc...
This game is the goat i love it so much sadly is no more updating. You shall get this game .

This game has a great concept however, it is very unpolished and buggy at times. If the devs didn't abandon this game, I have a feeling it would've been one of my most played games.

i used to watch this all the time when i was younger, ive now just bought it and it is just as good as it was when i watched some of my fav youtubers plays it.
This game is fun for , has some major issues as the developers clearly did not polish the game. It stutters horribly sometimes and will frequently freeze. There is a fix that works a little but after playing for a bit it lags.
This game will not run on a slow PC , it is horribly optimised (made in unity) .
The camera is a pain in the ass to control, this makes building actual "castles" impossible all buildings need to be open so you can see wtf is going on in there.
Also the AI is kind trash so.
Love this game you should definitly try it
Castle story is a pretty fun and nostalgic game.
it does have some glaring problems such as still running even after you exit the game, no way to edit the difficulty (not without messing the files), not being able to hold more than 16 workshop blueprints, and the complexity it brings
but that sort of simple complexity is also it's standing out point akin to minecraft, being able to control your little bricktrons to make Massive and stunning castles or defend it from hoards of enemies!
it's definitely worth a buy though I am also sad that Sauropod went under from all of the internal problems and we may never get another update to fix all of it's bugs.
I do hope that we can get a massive Overhaul to Castle story someday modded or otherwise (or if were lucky Sauropod somehow returns better than before.)

I'm 3 hours in now. It took me a bit to get a feel for the controls. I like the very straightforward and simple aims for your Units and how it is all in all pretty expansive in your means to accomplishing your albeit simple goals. Overall pretty well balanced game so far.

A good, well polished game that you should try. I liked how I could tell the men what to do and see them build big castles, even though the invasion is the best game mode (in my opinion). It has a great soundtrack, and looks quite good.

Played it for an hour, the game started visibly struggling after said hour.
The other reviews said the game was abandoned.
And those problems could've been solved with mods.
Problem is the game runs so poorly that the mods would have probably made it even slower.

If any of yall are wonderind why this game has no updates its because sauropod studios aka the dev team bankrupted :( Its really sad to see that this game died but theres such little hope of them coming back. R.I.P.

Honestly, this game is amazing and i wish it would still be getting updated. I used to watch youtubers play it all the time and when i finally got it i wasn't disappointed. If anyone sees this before buying it I would recommend it.
