amazing game and amazing platformer
i love this game so much bc its a game i played when i was little like alot i remember but that FUCKING FINAL BOSS FIGHT WITH THAT DUMB ASS HOE MIZREBEL PISSED ME OFFF but i expereienced the biggest adrenaline rush ever when i beat it.

Amazing reimagining of an underrated Sega platformer. One of Mickey's finest endeavors if I do so say so, only beat by his adventures in Kingdom Hearts.
If you like like me grew up playing all the Disney licensed platform game's like DuckTales, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, Quackshop, Fantasia, The Magical Quest, just to name a few, then Castle of Illusion is definitely worth playing. I was looking for that old school Disney style platform game and found what I was looking for. I enjoyed my time with Castle of Illusion.
Absolutely AMAZING. One of the most visually impressive games out there.
Super fun to play platform scroller with a ton of challenges to over come.
The animations, sound track and game makes you feel you are watching a Disney movie, a classic for all ages.

Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion was one of my favorite games when I was a kid. I was hesitant at first to buy the game cause I was afraid it would ruin my experience, but the remake is just as great.
I related to many parts of the original version while playing but there are also some new features that made it even better and more enjoyable. The art is splendid as expected from a Sega game, and the narration in the background gave the game a sweet ambiance. I enjoyed the added 3D platforms in some parts and some new illusions that weren't there before.
It's a lovely game and would recommend it for all players, even those who have never played the original one.

They made a good job in this game, you can almost remember every bit of the experience you had when you played the original castle of illusion and because of that you can also remember all what they did not include from the original. Still highly recommended, but they can make a better remake though. Please make a Quackshot remake too.
This game is a short nostalgia trip, but somehow still holds up today. The graphics are actually quite impressive. Little to no bugs or anything. Granted, $15 is a steep price for a game that takes only a few hours to 100%, but it goes on sale for $3 often, so it’s not a bad buy as a fun game.
Chill game, but way too short. If you are into 2D games, this is cool.

I mean yeah its good I guess, nothing too noteworthy.
A cute little Disney platformer starring Mickey. It's a very short game and it's very easy. It took me under 2 hours to play through for the first time. I was only challenged personally on the final boss fight. That fight took me 2 attempts lol. I'm a scrub haha. Castle of Illusion, has some simple collect-a-thon aspects for completionist, rewarded by extra costumes for Mickey. I wasn't personally interested in it, but it's there if you want a little extra to do. Castle of illusion, also has great responsive controls.
Overall, it was fun and chill. It played great on the Steam Deck. I got it on sale for $3. I am satisfied. A nice blast from the past to have in your library. GG!
It is a very good game for it's time with a interesting story and, it's not that hard to play, only a few missions are, but it's okay, I ended the game three times and the first time was the hardest.
I recommend.

Once you tweak the config to better suite PC and can then set your resolution and refresh rate to whatever you want this is a phenomenal platform game. It's honestly one of my favorites!
good 2d/3d platformer
Fun platformer and a nice remake of a classic game. Played a lot of this as a kid and was happy to see it remastered.
Does not work on newer windows i could only play on deck
I never played the original as a kid but remember hearing about how fun it was. But I also never knew anyone who could beat it.
The "reimagining" was fun but also not that difficult. There were several cheap moves from the fish and the castle guards. but a fun game none the less. It does glitch in some parts, especially on the dessert level with the jellies. And it is annoying that there isn't an actual icon for the game with a desktop shortcut. It's just a white sheet.
Overall, the graphics still hold up and was a fun game to play. Unless you already has mastered the game, you won't get 100% of the achievements on the first level run so there is replayability.
Play with a controller.
Pros
- Great game. Had a lot of fun exploring and acquiring all the collectibles.

- A great and fresh interpretation of the original Castle of Illusion from the Genesis.
Cons
- This game has been broken since its release. You can't simply play it without having to force it to boot in 800x600 and, after that, configuring it and NEVER playing it in Full Screen.
- To do that, follow these instructions and you should be good to go:
> Use the Registry Editor (Regedit): You can try modifying some keys in the Windows registry to force the game to use a specific resolution. To do this, press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter. Then navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SSA\COI and adjust the values of the FullScreen key (set it to 0) and the ScreenResIndex key (set it to 0).
> Force the use of the dedicated GPU: If you are using an integrated GPU, try forcing the game to use the dedicated GPU. Go to Settings > System > Display > Graphics, add the executable file of the game, select it, and choose the High Performance option.
And, again, NEVER play this game in Full Screen.
Score: 8/10 Could be more, but those technical issues were a pain in the a** to solve.

Le jeu est plutôt beau, l'histoire est sympa, le gameplay est bon. J'ai vraiment passé un bon moment sur ce jeu et je le recommande.
A perfect remake. The Genesis/Mega Drive original was a very good, charming game, and the remake expanded on it by adding various new segments to the original levels as well as keeping the charm of the original with beautiful, detailed backgrounds. All boss fights are now a little bit more complex and interesting and there's more things to do as now you can collect different items to unlock costumes, concept art and boss statues. And I just love how the game sometimes switches between 2.5D and 3D, making for an interesting change of pace.
It doesn't render the original completely obsolete as it doesn't have drawn-by-hand graphics like the OG did, which some people may prefer. I encourage everyone to give the OG a shot as it's a fairly simple and short game and then have a blast with this remake and see every change.

This is a great platformer/collectathon. It is really trippy too! The trippy level design will have you backtracking and replaying for valuable items you surely missed. While I found this a chore, I think for the real Mickey Mouse fan, this would count as a positive replayability factor. Recommended.

"Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse" is a cult platformer that was first released in 1990 for the Sega Genesis console. The game quickly gained recognition for its beautiful graphics, addictive gameplay and Mickey Mouse nostalgia. In 2013, after over two decades, Sega decided to release a remake of this classic, refreshing the game in both graphics and mechanics. Both the original and the remake delight fans with unique Disney magic and classic platforming gameplay.
My dad got he demo of the game when I was a very little kid and then he bought the full game. This was the first digital game that I bought so I got it on steam. It dosen't worked properly in many devices, so make sure that on yours it does. It is annoying to get the achievements, but it is worth it because I got them all on the PS3. Good game for what it offers!
