Cool Cannon Alien Story...
These games are really neat not something that I would consider to play non stop until I beat them but they are really cool in the aspect of the over head view alien shooter games where you are playing a story as a space marine going through and completing various missions whether from making sure that the spread of them stops or trying to save some intel from a dying ship that is about to self destruct. I think they did a good job at making this and ensuring that the player is emersed in the game play of it. Sure the graphics on it are very old but when its a good game, its a good game.
I bought these game on a sale as a bundle and it was on a dumb sale and highly recommend the same just for the fact of the cannon of the game and that the shelf life of these games that been out for a while.
Bought for 60p and couldn't get past first co op level after 20 tries, was much easier on campaign so the devs should get their head out of their asses and fix the shitty level balancing.
If you liked the first one then you will enjoy this one as well.
Alien Breed 2 Assault loves to waste your time. Repetitive, annoying backtracking, dizziness inducing camera shake, poorly made cut-scenes, but I still like it. So, if you have a few bucks to spend and some time to waste, give it a try. 5/10
Just like the first game. Challenge is decent (played in Elite mode), some tough bits, you do get to feel skillful and its fun. Only annoying element is the two explosives weapons you have (rocket launcher / grenade) are not very well designed for such a close quarter environment, and as some textures are a bit sharp, you just blow yourself up more often than you intend to (I ended up never using them to just not die stupidly). Also, what the hell are these grenades that explode instantly upon touching an enemy ? That's called a rocket, not a grenade.
What can be said about the Alien Breed Trilogy?
1. Conrad gets hung up on the slightest piece of geometry - if he barely brushes the corner of a railing he will come to a dead stop.
2. Enemies often spawn directly underneath you.
3. Anytime you have to activate a console you can easily expect a swarm of enemies to spawn in your immediate vicinity.
4. The screen shaking is annoying.
5. Every objective is the same - the motor / power / generator / filter is down, go reactivate it. Oh but the motor / power / generator / filter for that is down, so fix that before you fix the other thing.
6. Now retrace your steps three times, watching the same mini-cutscene for the sanitizer 3 times. Wait, make that 6 times because there's two.
7. Hold Space to activate a mini-cutscene - no seriously, this breaks up the action so much you might actually be moving or shooting something for approximately 1-2 minutes.
