Aliens vs. Predator™

kinda clunky and buggy sometimes (specialy frustrating as Alien) but dude... You can be an Alien. Come on.

This game has been taken over by the woke liberal agenda's woke mind virus, firstly as a xenomorph, instead of "moving" across the walls you "Transition", secondly, all xenomorphs are female, where are the men? this DEI shit is RUINING gaming... thirdly the xenomorph has a MATRIARCH, this is very wrong, as the ruling class should have a MAN at it's top. 0/10, would hiss and spit acid again like the xeno agent that i am.

Still a great game to play and really takes me back. I had seen a review on here saying it doesn't work however this has not been true for me at least.. I have no idea what they was doing wrong, maybe they're new to steam, PC games, or older games lol.

However, still a working game for campaign I haven't tried multiplayer because I just assumed there wouldn't be enough players to get a lobby.

If you're in it for the story it's still 101/10

Takes a lot of work to get working, don't buy if you just want a simple install and play. this is both the case for windows and Linux.

I recommend it because it does the three playable races, Xenomorph, Yautja an Human, justice

I do not recommend this game. It crashes on modern hardware, making impossible to continue. Nothing found on Internet helped fixing my issue (crashing on the elevator when playing as Marine)

I play that game when it first released on PS3 in (2010) played the demo as well when it first released. The game was the goat at the time. Now it poorly aged and content is kinda weak.

They did two map packs, but never added new weapons for the marines. Never added new animation for predator and aliens.

The PC port is kinda GG, no windowed support (borderless) and if you alt+tab it might glitch your game or PC. There was a bug where the executable was updating which would prevent the game from working. As much i used to love this game it's hardly playable now.

I wish modders would make the game more playable and fix some of it's issues! Anyway, multiplayer is populated with one hacker that ruin the few games happening.

I'm only starting the third chapter of the marine campaign, but the fact that you block xenomorph attacks with your arms then pistol whip them is just so eye rollingly stupid it has soured the experience.

Marine campaign was enjoyable, but I was not even able to play the Alien campaign. Game would crash every time I'd kill someone as a xenomorph. The game is broken and I cannot experience the full game.

there is a fix for the game not launching. in you library click on the game the page where it says play then look for discussion tab click on it. on that page it should be the second discussion click on it and there you will see a download link. download the files and put the in the game directory. i had the same problem bought the game yesterday now it works fine playing as predator ;)- went through a bunch of missions crash once with the fix. reloaded and kept going. play on dx11 with all setting maxed at 4k. steam should fix this internally though. the game is good btw

a really cool FPS-ish game with multiple things to do, although this is a very fun game, there is gore and blood so if you are sensitive to brutal things, do not get. but overall, a really well game (curse words included...) check it you :) (not many players play online now :(

Everyday I breathe it seems my childhood is dying before my very eyes, something happened behind the scenes rendering the game literally broken.

i'm trying really hard to enjoy the game, lots of unique concepts and love the idea of the same mission from different perspectives. being the xenomorph was especially fun!

but the game crashes CONSTANTLY. too much fire on screen? freeze and crash. opening door to a new area? freeze and crash.

This game is bricked, got it to launch after a few days of trying. Then it crashed in every story line as soon as an alien popped up

while the game now has issues due to steams DMR system, it is fixable and once you do so, it is still as good as i remember it being from youtube, a masterpiece

game keeps crashing. tried everything i found. seems to be a steam issue, others on reddit and steam forums are having issues with this and other games crashing or sitting at updating executable.

steam has botched this game, it wont even open anymore and they dont care to fix it, i just spent money on this game and expect it to work without downloading sketchy exes that barely fix it. this shouldnt be on the market if the game only serves as a play button.

the game no longer starts without outside sources if you are willing to fix it some how it is a good game

This game is currently broken, will not launch and is stuck at "updating .exe" when trying to launch the base game, dx9 or dx11 versions. Delete files and validate install doesn't fix, Steam beta doesn't work, devs are not supporting and error is on Steam's side with no way to file support ticket.

Such a goated game I played a ton back in the day on 360, shame future steam DRM updates have broken it and made it literally unplayable, Probably shouldn't be selling it as it won't even launch for people with newer systems.

Steam broke this and many other games including Fear 3, ACM and AVP.

I'm sad. This game needs to be delisted or fixed by steam.

This game is, in my opinion, under-rated. It is a masterpiece which can actually describe some of the events that happened in the Aliens vs. Predators universe with a sort of "find the lore" which is pretty cool. And the multi-player is dead for some people who wanted to play it with some DLC content. Worry not, because you can go in multi-player and then player match, then after that you can select the survivor tab and use the maps you paid for which include the hive. In a map where you are playing in survivor mode that has eggs in it, just so you know the eggs open every couple waves so they don't open automatically at your presence like in the movies. Also, if you get attacked by a Facehugger you don't get a chance to rip it off of your face like in Aliens: Colonial Marines and Aliens: Fireteam Elite but there is still a chance that you can get it off but there is not anything you can do to boost your chances of getting it off successfully and not being able to do so, which would result in your death. I would recommend this game for other members of the Aliens vs. Predator franchise to play this game because it has really good graphics, storyline and plot. Also just so you know, per say if someone played only marines and got to level 39, the Predator and Xenomorph would also be at that exact level because they would be the same rank as you go up the ranks. If you completed every mission on any mode you could replay any mission you wanted in the same campaign with any difficulty but it would not count if you were in the Alien campaign and completed every mission on easy mode and then went back to the last level but switched the mode to hard it would not count for achievements where you need to complete the game in the Alien campaign on hard mode, since you only did one of the missions. And also in my opinion the bosses are not too overpowered because the last Predator boss in Alien campaign only heals themselves if you didn't get them in a couple minutes. Also for new players, the Predator campaign has more bosses than in any of the other campaigns because the other campaigns of Marine and Alien have only about one or two bosses. This game is one that I think should have way more recognition, because once you play it you would know how good it really is. But just so you know since the fact of the multi-player option being quite dead, as I said near the beginning of the review you will probably only be able to play marine unless you have friends to play with because other-wise the yautja and the Xenomorph don't really have a use where you can use the skins you have obtained from them in ranks if you don't have friends to play with because there is some times when multi-player is not dead, but that is a little rare nowadays because my assumption is that people moved on to other games that are still getting fame, or maybe if they didn't move out of playing Alien/Yautja type games maybe they started to play a different game that is newer. Though I kind of wish there was an option where you could play with bots for multi-player, but that might not get added since you play single-player in order to complete the base story which is probably why Aliens: Fireteam Elite got the bot option since you need to play multi-player for the base game which is basically dead as a desert unless you play the very first part of the first mission where you get a full team in a couple of minutes which is very quick for a game that is practically not played anymore. So you might not want to get the DLC maps if you do not want to play single-player in multi-player where you are a marine packing Xenomorphs full of bullets, which you can do by going to the multi-player and then player-match and then creating your own game, which you can also play with more people by friending them and going to steam chat and inviting them to join the Aliens vs. Predator game but they do have to own the game in order to play it with you. This game is also challenging, but not the type of challenging that would make you mad and never want to play the game again, it is more of a game that would be like "Oh! If I get better at this, I will be able to beat this game!" Because there is a difference between "I can beat this game, just gotta give it a few more tries" and "I will never play this game again!" Because this game knows perfectly how to blend challenging moments and easy moments together to make a combination of a great game that I could play every day (I might already do that.) Somehow, the graphics even hold up to this day which is really surprising for a game made in 2010. I also like some of the references that they may have put into this game (Though I do not have much knowledge of it being accidentally made a reference or if on purpose). One of them being when you are playing as a Predator in the Predator campaign one of the finish kills, which if you do not know what a finish kill is, it is when you either hit an enemy once or stalk around

steam has broken this game, it wont launch unless you replace the executable, and even then it will still crash in all 3 campaigns

When pressing play game it shows (Updating Executable) and fails to launch the game. Please fix this, hopefully its being addressed

Played it much more on console. Would like to play it now, but "Installing Executables" is as far as I can get.

Doesn't work at all, at the time of this review, the same is true for Colonial Marines. Is something about the DRM (Digital Rights Management) probably because SEGA closed some server that the game needed to connect, to prove it was a legit buy.
So this makes me think that most SEGA games, I own on Steam, will stop working eventually as well, and this is not good, I bought the game and expect my SINGLE PLAYER games, to work no matter if some online server is closed or not. This is why legit buyers hate DRM besides Steam, they are not only a tool to stop pirates, they are also a tool to hurt legit buyers by giving the publisher the power to take the games access from you, whenever they want.

Don't buy, the game have bad optimization and cannot event start

This worked previously. But steam completely broke this!!!!
I don't know what update steam did, but the game does not work anymore!!!!
And steam support is completely non existent!!!
I can see why everyone is moving over to GOG.

Even BlackSite: Area 51 was better than this.

Fantastic game. Highly recommend to new players and veterans who want to give the game another go.

Bought the game, finished Marine campaign with no problem. Started to play the alien campaign and the game started to crash during combat requiring me to reload the save or start the level again. After completing the alien campaign and moving onto the predator campaign, the game started to crash regularly on the 2nd level where certain actions were performed such as shooting the predators gun. Tried to fix it in every way possible, the real problem came when I checked the integrity of the game files, the game refused to even load. Tried to uninstall and reinstall to no avail.

The game itself is good, I played this on the Xbox 360 and decided it was worth picking up for PC, but the simple fact is the PC version is broken because it just won't launch. I don't see anyone fixing this launch issue as it is an old game so I can't recommend it. Do not buy.

this game seems good but wont even load up but when it does it will crash within 5 mins or less of playing. if you kill someone IT CRASHES!!! DO NOT GET

This game is no longer playable, because of the corruption of the "Updating Executable" process.

I do not understand why this game is even being sold. It is literally unplayable unless you are running freakin windows 7.
Any modern or even semi-modern pc cannot run this game, and of course I had to learn this after buying.

The game itself is really good, but I had to go and download stuff to make it even launch. And after that it just crashes a ton.
For anyone whose pc isn't running on fossil fuels, don't waste your time unless you know how to fix the game yourself.

the game worked, it was fun, but now it wont even launch...
idk how this happened but I hope they fix it in the future!

Game was amazing, however, when I tried to come back to it in 2024, it will no longer run. Seems to be a DRM issue. The available solutions do not work or require you to download some questionable executables that only get the game to launch, nothing else. Whatever the problem is, the game fails to launch after trying to update executable. If you're trying to get this in 2024, don't.

For such an old game it runs very well. Gives off deadspace vibes... boost the graphics to Max... runs well on new hardware... controls are easy. Good sound fx. Well worth the purchase if your a fan.. usually on discount.... you won't be disappointed

P.s... it DOES work with controllers

At 3 dollars and 79 cents, this game is crazy. you start off the game as a marine and progress through the story line facing challenges. lets go into the fact that you can not only play as a marine, but both alien and predator, this game is old but it is gold.

Game dont work half the time. Says updating exec, than thats that. So i wouldn't bother buying this game out of all honesty.

UPDATE: 1 week later, after purchasing DLC's for my son. The game still will not launch. Not sure what the developer did to the game. But the original did work cause my son beat the game the day I purchased it.

UPDATE2: The game is finally running again. I wanna say the DEV's fixed the issue. The .exe file itself would never open/launch. But now its magically working like a charm. Can't still recommend this game due to the fact it might happen to you or whoever is reading this review.

Playing the Xenomorph is a movement experience to parallel only games like Titanfall 2. Power, speed, & quick time to kill, or die.

Y'know what could a make a day where you're suffering from skin burns, fractures and other minor injuries even better? A video game you REALLY wanted to play crashing over and over systematically, no matter how you try to fix it.

This game was ahead of its time The Graphics the Atmosphere one of my favorite Aliens Shooters of all time

It's a good game by itself, but not as good as AvP 1 and 2 unfortunately. Survival mode is nothing compared to first game, and multiplayer is not nearly as fun as AvP 2.
But I guess the campaign is okay for one playthrough.

game crashes, a LOT. won't even run without workarounds.

this game is genuinely fantastic, and an absolute blast. however, i cannot recommend it in its current state.

it seems to be a recent issue, judging by other reviews, but there's an issue with the DRM in the steam version which prevents the game from running.
even if you work past that, the game still suffers from countless issues causing crashes, often during or after the tutorial.

i'm currently stuck at a point where i'm trying to play the Alien campaign, however my game crashes whenever i take any form of damage. this is an improvement over the issue before, where it'd crash upon killing anyone, but it still makes it unplayable.

i hope there is a fix soon, either from steam or the developers, but it's probably unlikely.
