badass game, too bad there wasn't more story or a part 2 for it
very good game, is just sad that this game is dead, oh and btw idk how but in the first day that i purchase the game i couldnt play because of the ''updating executable'' and i just gave up and today when i tried to play it, it worked perfectly, so weird lol i quess i am lucky. still worth to get it? i would say yea.
This game is no longer playable, because of the corruption of the "Updating Executable" process.
I do not understand why this game is even being sold. It is literally unplayable unless you are running freakin windows 7.
Any modern or even semi-modern pc cannot run this game, and of course I had to learn this after buying.
The game itself is really good, but I had to go and download stuff to make it even launch. And after that it just crashes a ton.
For anyone whose pc isn't running on fossil fuels, don't waste your time unless you know how to fix the game yourself.

the game worked, it was fun, but now it wont even launch...
idk how this happened but I hope they fix it in the future!
For such an old game it runs very well. Gives off deadspace vibes... boost the graphics to Max... runs well on new hardware... controls are easy. Good sound fx. Well worth the purchase if your a fan.. usually on discount.... you won't be disappointed
P.s... it DOES work with controllers

At 3 dollars and 79 cents, this game is crazy. you start off the game as a marine and progress through the story line facing challenges. lets go into the fact that you can not only play as a marine, but both alien and predator, this game is old but it is gold.
Game dont work half the time. Says updating exec, than thats that. So i wouldn't bother buying this game out of all honesty.
UPDATE: 1 week later, after purchasing DLC's for my son. The game still will not launch. Not sure what the developer did to the game. But the original did work cause my son beat the game the day I purchased it.
UPDATE2: The game is finally running again. I wanna say the DEV's fixed the issue. The .exe file itself would never open/launch. But now its magically working like a charm. Can't still recommend this game due to the fact it might happen to you or whoever is reading this review.
Playing the Xenomorph is a movement experience to parallel only games like Titanfall 2. Power, speed, & quick time to kill, or die.
Y'know what could a make a day where you're suffering from skin burns, fractures and other minor injuries even better? A video game you REALLY wanted to play crashing over and over systematically, no matter how you try to fix it.

This game was ahead of its time The Graphics the Atmosphere one of my favorite Aliens Shooters of all time
It's a good game by itself, but not as good as AvP 1 and 2 unfortunately. Survival mode is nothing compared to first game, and multiplayer is not nearly as fun as AvP 2.
But I guess the campaign is okay for one playthrough.
game crashes, a LOT. won't even run without workarounds.
this game is genuinely fantastic, and an absolute blast. however, i cannot recommend it in its current state.
it seems to be a recent issue, judging by other reviews, but there's an issue with the DRM in the steam version which prevents the game from running.
even if you work past that, the game still suffers from countless issues causing crashes, often during or after the tutorial.
i'm currently stuck at a point where i'm trying to play the Alien campaign, however my game crashes whenever i take any form of damage. this is an improvement over the issue before, where it'd crash upon killing anyone, but it still makes it unplayable.
i hope there is a fix soon, either from steam or the developers, but it's probably unlikely.

Cannot recommend. Game will not launch after attempting:
- disable antivirus
- set windows 7 compatibility mode on .exe files
- run steam as administrator
- run game AvP.exe directly
Good game but can't play saved game from one PC to new PC. Spent hours trying to get it to work. Yes cloud sync was on. Utter shit!!!!!

Alien vs. Predator may have a good concept and overall story, but unfortunately it is extremely buggy, borderline unplayable on some pc's, and completely unplayable on other pc's. Thankfully I only got it for $2. I probably would have either refunded it or visited someone to practice violence if it were full price.
Pros:
+ Three intertwining campaigns each for the Aliens, the Predators and the Marines, allowing you to play as all three with their own mechanics, abilities and perspectives
+ Unique mechanics for each campaign
+ Plenty of graphical options
+ Great concept and overall story, from what I've heard
+ Good sound design
+ Additional Survival Multiplayer mode
+ The worst campaign of the three, Predator's, is only 2-3 hours long. It also crashes at the same place every time preventing progress, so I couldn't play it and was happy about it. Additional info in cons.
+ Accurate depiction of how immoral Marines are
Cons:
- Extremely buggy, broken, unfinished product
- Can't play or finish the game
- May not launch on some pc's for various reasons. (Running Steam as admin fixed it for me, but doesn't fix it for all)
- Frequent crashes preventing progress. I couldn't finish the game, and couldn't progress more than maybe 15 minutes in each campaign
- Alien's movement and mechanics could have been smoother
- Predator's campaign is terrible and the worst of the three. Movement is clunky and sometimes unresponsive. Cloak only works sometimes against Marines and never against Aliens.
Overall Rating: 2 of 5
Great game can't play it tho because steam's sh*tty DRM. So I have to download a pirated version to play a game I paid for a couple years ago.
Totally recommend this (2010) AVP Game. Aged like fine wine. I give it a 1000% and up!
Hopefully there's a sequel with these same graphics and display, but with more higher quality graphics and resolutions!

It is an old-school classic; if you are a fan of the alien and/or predator universes, then this game will be pretty good, even in 2024. Multiplayer is dead, but I do recommend everyone to try out the 3 part campaign as it does not overstay its welcome. I completed all three stories on nightmare in 9.6 hours. I recommend getting it on sale as you can grab it for under 5 dollars.
Game is a Great Style!
If you have never dived into the AVP world this game lets you become a mixture of all three main story lines that you would want to play as that you see in the movie, I remember playing this as soon as it came out and could not get enouph of it. I have always felt that some of the AVP games that came out were always just slapped together and hoped that people would buy it just for the sake of the title being Aliens V.S. Predator Plot. This is what delivered it, however as the ages passed so did the aspect of the game in. This is still something I would come back to, to keep playing.
In my opinion this game is well developed and has the player on the edge of their seat wanting to play more, now there is so many other games with this title. I would MOST definitely wait for sale just for the sake of how many titles there are for this type of game and the duration that this game has been out on the market.
I can only talk for the campaigns as I've not touched the multiplayer. The campaigns are still pretty decent, and hold up surprisingly well for a near 15 year old game. It straddles that line between a big budget AAA game and a lower budget title, but it's a good enough time. For £15 or less, go for it. There are worse games on here you can spend more money on.
Just like old times.. The campaign is actually amazing considering you have three stories which all play completely different. It is a bit old but I have a few mods installed that help out a bit 10/10
Old game from 14 years ago that I played on release on PS3 back then. Still fun and this time some servers and you can get rank ups from the player run ones on Steam so you don't have to queue for ages, so nice upgrade there. Only thing missing is the preorder skins for MP.
I installed the game and could not get it to launch. After spending an hour and finally getting it to start, it now crashes after killing the first enemy... I give up.
The game itself is fun, but the problem I have is that it won't launch. It was working fine for a bit, but then it just stopped working.
If you like Alien and/or Predator, you should play this. This is a solid game.
The game is a SHORT STORY playable by 3 factions : Humans , aliens and predators .
Since it's one of the older games most people will play it for the memories and it aged well for me .
Controls some find ' em funky but the controls once you change them to your liking they are fine.
Buy it on sale , dont buy it full price. !!!

Campaign's are pretty short, movements clunky, and the multiplayer is dead. However, if its on sale, and you have some time on your hand, it can be fun. For all its flaws it still lets you play as the alien and predator, which is pretty fun. Other than that, don't get it if its not on sale.
Way way better than Alien Isolation, worth 20-30$, maybe 50$ if you are rich, good actions, if you like alien isolation you Will probably definitely like alien vs predator

Used to be a fun game now steam cannot start the game. It gets stuck updating executable and nothing will solve this issue!!
This game might not be the best, but there is one thing that this game is good at. Being original. I have yet to see a game that pulls of the movement of the aliens this good, which makes this game even more favourable. I wish they would make another one.
A wonderful experence only issue is that the xenomorph movement is so nasue
pretty good for a older game, came out yearssss ago so dont expect to much from it if youve never played but for as old as it is, still really good for sure reccomended
This game from 2010 has really held up well. The controls and gameplay can be pretty janky at times, especially with both the Alien and Predator, but all in all this is a VERY SOLID AVP game. The plot and gameplay itself is pretty generic, and can be a bit cringy at times, but if you can look past that you are in a for A FUN couple of hours (since that's how long it takes to beat the entire story).
I would wait for this game to go on sale and when you do purchase and play it i would recommend:
Playing the Alien Campaign first
Playing the Predator Campaign Second
Playing the Rookies Campaign LAST
Also this game DOES SUPPORT CONTROLLERS. Just be wary because the controls themselves have not aged particularly well especially for the Alien (You will start to feel dizzy and nauseous after crawling up and down the walls for awhile).
Overall a must play for any Alien or Predator fan 7.5/10
Game is actually very good, and the campaigns are unlike anything else I have ever played. However this game either doesn't run or it crashes literally every 30-60 seconds on windows 11, even with compatibility settings and things changed. This was my favorite game for a long time, and now sadly I can't play it at all.
In Aliens vs Predator you play as zeta reticuli, Minecraft content creator, or how every Redditor sees themselves when they say "M'yeah, if I were in the universe of Alien..." Fun game, quite cheap, dead multiplayer. Remake/remaster this game IMMEDIATELY!

Been playing exclusively the campaigns which have been alot of fun! didnt realize till seeing an external video, but you can play as a xenomorph and yautja in this game!!
Problems do however arise if you dont have a mouse if you play PC, as you then WILL need to reconfigure the keyboard. Which would be find if the keyboard didnt get stuck with the first change you make.
Overall a very fun game!
"Aliens vs. Predator" is a thrilling multiplayer game that pits iconic sci-fi creatures against each other in intense and asymmetrical battles. Each species offers unique abilities and playstyles, making for a diverse and engaging experience.
A good early-2010s linear first person action-shooter, based of Aliens Vs. Predators universe and made by the same guys who worked on earlier AvP games (and later on Sniper Elite series), where it allows you to fully experience the Xenomorphs & the Yautjas with it's immersive sound design & atmospheric level design. It might show it's age and flaws here or there, but it's still has a fun gameplay with it's unique mechanics, that could give a fun experience in both single-player & multi-player (though it's best to play it with friends or with dedicated fanbase, as it's multiplayer popularity has been long gone). Marines are mid, though. Would recommend it!
