Played this Game on my Desktop and the time when it was released there was not many platformers with such a great detail on 2d physics. The game has so many levels that you get to clear and get completion tag as a acheivement. The levels are not very hard and dont demand your impulses and compulses to get 100%... still there is challenge and your time as well as some stress can be handled.
Graphics
The game is 2D game which has good details on game objects, there are translucant game object and game effect which blends with backgound nicely. The colors on these game objects as well as background can convay good amount of situation as well as atmosphere of level. The textures on objects of certain gameplay feature are indicative such that you can get a idea, for example black goo balls are simple entity where gray when picked by mouse shows effect of pull on certain other gray ball, green shows similar effect towards black, gray or other green balls of removable attachment. pink is also passive where red ones are explosive. chain-reaction with combination of these balls of goo is also convayed nicely. Wind efect is also nice with indication on direction.
Physics
It has realistic physics on goo balls such that it falls, rolls and bounces with deform on certain surfaces. Structure that we build to clear level has bridge building characteristic and we need to understand atleast a basic knowledge on whether certain iteration of user's imagination of bridge, overpass or platform structure is stable or not. then level can get cleared very easily. structure deforms as well on certain levels with enviornmental effects. The pulls that is programmed on goo balls with physics engine is very similar to springs... and visible to great extent when there is a level of hanged figure, item or puzzle that require building a hanging structure. Tower building is also involved to reach a certain height and goal destination.
Gameplay
Goo balls can be picked, thrown and moved with mouse. The 2D physics engines Laws greatly provide realistice behavior on these items. The drag and drop moves is used to build, solve these physics puzzles. There are bugs-Entities on game level which when used, undo's a previous move and error can be corrected with flashy quick screen effect. Timing is also taken in notice to give 100% completion Tag but always it is not neccessory to progess and experience the story of this game. The levels are populated with sign-boards that provide Hints, messages, story quotes and statements to smartguys then level can get cleared with good focus and game experience...
Sound
The sound on these game is addictive and can provide you focus to solve a puzzle... Atleast i have not experinced a situation where i need to mute the sound track to clear the clutter and noice to be on puzzle solving... still some times backgound enviornment's clutter is more satisfying than actual sound track. once i liked no sound track, peace-full scenario to solve a challenge.
Overall It is a Great game with physics to experience and dosent need great hardware configuration to play...
PC-Version
9/10
Great game!
YAY GOOD GAME.
Great little puzzle game, excited for World of Goo 2 after all these years.
the music is poppin because the contrast of the simple gaming and the orchestra!
No volume settings.
Respect the classics
I played this game a long time ago and it was a lot of fun.
I can't imagine there are more family-friendly casual games available right now.
The modding scene for this game is surprisingly full.

my small children like this game
A brilliance in puzzle design back when puzzles were rarely using jello physics (look it up).
I prefer the mobile version because there is a extra degree of challenge by misplacing with touch. Makes it funner if you enjoy fun via frustration. Some do.
Yep, these guys also predicted some of the issues the modern gaming industry has normalized. For that alone, I recommend.
Fun to play

Disturbed Fun
Um dos melhores jogos existentes. Atemporal. Atmosfera incrível e puzzles super divertidos. Uma obra de arte. - O pintor de placas.
A fun physics game overall for a simpler time. There are some dated aspects such as frustrating due to limited rewinds, lack of settings without editing game files, and fiddly choosing certain overlapping Goo.
Wonderful, bizarre, and shockingly profound, World of Goo manages to provide an incredibly satisfying physics-puzzle experience and a strange, demented, and beautiful storyline at the same time, all through crudely drawn stick figures and little balls of goo. For such a deceptively simple concept, the amount of artfulness and narrative intrigue in this title is astounding.
10/10 Best game ever, I love goo balls.
All time classic! I played it in 2009 - 2010 as a kid, and it is still not outdated after about 15 years. You can just imagine how ground-breaking it was back in the time. The puzzle game also blends physics/civil engineering into its mechanism. And the storyline! It already talked about the intelligence tech, spirit of digitals, and consumerism back in 2008! Again, It is a pioneer that never gets old, cannot really believe just 2 people made it.
The soundtrack is also classic, the visuals are smooth. Puzzle are well designed with good mechanism and appropriate level of difficulty. After finishing them, you can also think about the society of goo - ywhere do they go, and how will they be in the future - Looking forward to World of Goo 2!!
World of Goo is unironically one of the best indie games out there. It has incredible and instantly-recognisable sound design and clever physics-based puzzles that have a variety of different ways to solve them. There's even a post-game, though to be honest I was never good enough at the game to make a big enough tower to reach said post-game. I mean like the final puzzles are so hard I've never completed them, and bear in mind when I was a kid I was pretty damn good at the game and had a lot more time to spend banging my head against a wall. They let you skip levels that you're struggling with, though, which is really nice.
I first played it on android a very long time ago, and I do have to say that's probably the definitive way to play. It's a little janky on PC, although I'm finding I can get pretty damn close to the original experience using my screenless drawing tablet. It doesn't seem to work so well on screen tablets though, so if you pursue that route be aware of that.
Charming and challenging physics puzzle game. Fun visuals and sound design, distinct/unique worlds and levels, clever puzzles and mechanics, and an AMAZING soundtrack. Has an overall odd but bleak atmosphere that I really love. Fair warning, you WILL go batshit insane trying to get the OCDs. Some are attainable enough, but many are complete BS, requiring the highest possible skill level and/or just plain luck.
9/10 A classic, though I can't even imagine trying to beat this on the Wii lol.
The touch interface on the steamdeck is horrible. Making it almost unplayable. Just play it on PC, iOS or Android.
the 15 bucks was DEFIANTLY worth it.
10.5/10 great soundtrack.
- Good graphics.
- Puzzles aren't mind-blowing but they're unusual and the goo-ball mechanic is something I haven't seen before.
- The story is bizarre and kind of unsettling and leaves me with a gross feeling, similar to my experience with Human Resource Machine.
- The music in this game is not very good, and there's no way to turn it down / off.
- I really find the audio kind of annoying. I'm now just turning my sound off when I play.
Fun game for. youngsters in particular...
Love the silly plot, and even moreso the physics of the game.
Levels are not excessively long to complete, making the game absolutely ideal for those moments when you need a mental break but can't be lots of time.
Brilliant, one of the best puzzle games out there, fantastic soundtrack too!
it very good
i used to play this as a teen...
World of Goo has got to be one of the best (indie) games ever made!!
love it!
Goo balls
One of the games of all time.
A puzzle game in which you construct various structures using shape-shifting goo balls.

World of Goo drops you into a foreign world inhabited by different kinds of goo balls. The game comprises a series of levels, each of which contains a number of goo balls and an exit pipe which you'll have to help the creatures reach. To achieve this, you can grab any goo and attach it to others, leading to them being connected through trusses. Goo balls can slither along these trusses, allowing them to move across goo structures and towards the exit pipe.
The goo trusses are rather flexible, meaning you'll have to keep an eye on the integrity of the structures you create, lest they collapse. This is further complicated by the fact that each level requires a minimum amount of goo balls to reach the exit in order to be completed, so you'll have to strike a balance that allows for as many goo balls as possible to stay free. To push this concept even further, every level contains a bonus challenge, tasking you with completing it in a set amount of time or with an even greater number of goo balls escaping. These can be rather tricky to complete and provide some nice replay value.
As you progress, World of Goo gradually introduces different kinds of goo balls, such as floating or flammable ones as well as various stage hazards. Through this, the game's basic premise manages to stay interesting throughout its runtime while maintaining a fair difficulty curve. Every level also contains some observational monologues provided by an unseen character. This provides some background information on the world and events of the game, though stays rather vague throughout, leading to me personally not really caring too much about it.
For highscore hunters, the game also features leaderboards for each level, allowing you to push your solutions even further. Similarly, all goo balls you collect throughout the games' levels are placed in a separate area, where you can use them to assemble a tower, competing with other for the highest one.
Presentation-wise, World of goo goes for a charming cartoonish look that complements its overall tone. There's some decent music playing throughout the game, though it is mostly atmospheric and thus rarely memorable. Overall, I found the game's atmosphere to be a bit too bleak overall, which certainly matches the lore it contains, but can feel rather dreary.

All in all, I enjoyed my time with world of goo, in large part thanks to its interesting premise.
It's an elegant game for a more civilized age!
Great puzzle construction game, finished it to the end. Fun graphics & music. 10/10
So baller. So fire.
fun
not just a game… its a World!! i remember playing this on the library computers as a kid and being so confused. was it educational? corporate software? some kind of art statement? nowadays i know its a videogame but i know that definitely was the intention - world of goo could supplant itself in anyone’s life as long as that person had the curiosity to discover it. this game doesn’t ask anything of you. i’ve been playing for a decade and i’m in no rush to beat it.
Peak
Fun puzzles, really strange attitude (in a good way)
ALT+M to mute the sound, its crazy loud and has no in game volume control.
Gooey good goo balls.
