Dad got me into Quake. And boy oh boy was it an amazing decision on his part. At this point, its my comfort game. I don't have many hours, but that's sure to rack up in the coming days, weeks, months. This game is timeless! Like Half Life, like DOOM. Amazing stuff by ID, even back then!
please machine games remaster this game and somehow integrate the mods in one app i beg of you
Absolute Perfection
One of the Best Arena FPS Ever Made, still remember getting the demo from a Magazine almost 30 Years ago.

It really saddens me that games like this aren't made anymore because of greed and shareholders. You can just tell this game had so much passion put into it and its really enjoyable if you can get over the old graphics and resolution. I'm not even that good at quake games (especially this one) but I am still able to enjoy them which is why this is one of my all time favorite fps games.
Very Challenging but really fun once you know what the hell you're doing
unlike most games it loads quickly- great graphics and constant moving action - the best and one enver tires of the variations
ahhh this game being me back :) . when i was young. I saw my dad playing this game. and i was amazed.
It's terribly difficult to put into words how much Quake III means to me, but I'll briefly attempt to do so regardless. If you totaled all of my hours on various ioquake3 mods together with Quake Live, my hours would total in the high hundreds (maybe more). My biological and social experience of growing up as a human being was, and still is haunted by memories of Quake III. When I skip to the bus stop in the early morning, I cavort to my destination in imitation of Bitterman's bunnyhop. When I defend myself from the beasts of my nightmares, I do so with the Lightning Gun. Quake III was the second womb I lived in, and when I expire I ought to be buried with a copy of her cradled in my arms. What for most people is a game like any other is my providence, my truest and most uncompromising love. I need her like a flower needs sunlight
To recount some chronicles:
- Dudes from Czechia asking 7 year old me what my favorite beer is, and to never forget that Czech beer is the best (I don't drink and I've never had Czech beer, but it's still the best).
- My teenage self asking the server who was playing on Linux, to which someone replied: "We all are dumbass"
- Realizing I can put Sonic characters in Quake for the first time
- My father burning the soundtrack onto a disc and playing it in the car
- Watching & reacting to the 2014 World Cup with a whole server
- Dueling a German guy after he begged me to do so, and proceeding to play other games with him via Skype afterwards
[*]Getting an addict to ragequit with some help from a friend
And many more that I've either forgotten or that I am yet to remember.
The purpose of life is to know God and enter Heaven, yes. My eyes began dripping like flowstones of an ancient cave when I realized she had lived within me all along.
It is the greatest multiplayer FPS of all time. There cannot be another. To be fair, it would be impossible for any game to live up to the blank slate mystique that my Quake III will forever possess.

One of, if not the greatest FPS Arena Shooter of its time. Flexible, fast-paced engagements. Wide variety of weapons at your disposal. Great modding potential.

Never gets old
Played this in 2000's with friends on Lan party. I can't believe its been over 24 yrs this game still rocking. I wish ID Software devs remaster this game with the latest gen graphics. I highly recommend this game if you really like fast pace multiplayer shooting game.

As a gladiator in the Arena Eternal, you must not only survive, but also win each and every battle against ever more powerful opponents. Don't worry overly much about getting "fragged." The Vadrigar won't be cheated of their favorite sport by a little thing like death. Those who fall are instantly restored to life and immediately thrust back into the battle, perhaps a little wiser for their misfortunes.
It's an old game but one of the bests.
