I decided to pick up this game after the dimensions update, and wow I am extremely impressed with this game. It has such a great scale and cool factor, while also having simple yet complex mechanisms, I think after this latest update it easily puts shapez 2 on the same level as games like factorio and satisfactory for me. 10/10

My family loved Shapez 1 (myself and my 6 and 8 yo). so it is super satisfying to see how Shapez 2 took the best and evolved it to an incredible extend. It is like a polished update of the original game, smoothing the rough edges and bringing in significantly more depth while staying easy to follow. Shapez 2 is a perfect mix between Shapez 1, Big Pharma and Factorio and I expect many more hours for myself and the kids.
forget cracktorio. shapez 2 is the only drug you need. real talk they scratch different itches. you think more in factorio. here, there are no enemies, the resources play out differently. the only thing you can run out of is blueprint points, and uh... thats easy to mass produce. so jump in, and get ready to enjoy your next factory addiction.
An absolute future classic. near limitless potential
Not too difficult for someone who enjoys automation games but cant sink their entire life into one single game. Recommend for technical minded people who enjoy a balance life.
This game is amazing, I accidentally deleted my save and was still motivated to play it again. totally recommend if you are smart in terms of puzzles but don't have a lot of foresight since rebuilding your machines after coming back to them from a break because they are wildly inefficient feels amazing
⭐ 10/10 – Absolutely Addicted to Shapez 2 ⭐
I didn’t just play Shapez 2—I got lost in it.
This game had me so hooked, I looked up and hours had passed without even realizing it. The flow is unreal. One minute you’re placing a conveyor belt, the next you're knee-deep in a 3D puzzle masterpiece wondering if you accidentally became a logistics engineer.
Everything about Shapez 2 is smooth, smart, and insanely satisfying. The visuals are clean, the systems are deep, and the gameplay is so engaging it’s honestly hard to stop. It strikes that perfect balance between chill and brain-twisting challenge.
If you like automation, puzzles, or games that make your brain happy, this is it. I’d 100% recommend Shapez 2 to anyone—it’s a must-play.
Very intelligent game. Loved the style and the feel. Cut out all the junk no one wants to deal with in a factory game and made it great.
This is one of the best automation games that somehow lacks a basic "goal" to strive towards. It feels aimless yet so addicting. I rate it slightly lower than satisfactory however this is the best FEELING games ever played and that is among other genres too. Each click and 'vump' of the UI is just TACTICAL. It also is reasonable priced and also has nice visuals/ along with low file size so ultimately the best game (automation) that money can buy right now. BUT this is for players who like to relax more rather than tinker endlessly.
This is everything I've been looking for in an automation game and without all the part I don't like in less abstract games like Captains of Industry or Factorio. Just perfect.
Fun factory-puzzle game, more relaxed than the average in the factory genre.
The focus is about how to get things produced and setting up for nice throughput, not worrying about supply scarcity, enemies or costs.
Honestly, it’s one of those games where you tell yourself "just one more shape..." and suddenly it's 10 hours later and you've built an entire empire dedicated to the perfect square-circle hybrid. It’s relaxing, it’s engaging, and it makes you feel like a super smarty-pants when you finally figure out a tricky production line.
If you love automation, puzzles, or just building cool stuff, you'll enjoy shapez 2.
With 350 hrs of gameplay, I can safely say this game is awesome. If you like puzzle factory building type games, get it, you will not regret it.
This game makes me feel like i'm creating buttons and tossing them into a space void as offerings to a celestial god.
Its fun
Loved the first one. Couldn't imaging the second one topping it, but it has. Amazing game.
If you like cardboard puzzles and calming music, this game is for you.
Be careful though, this game never ends and you will lose track of time.
This game is THE factory game for me. Having put over 100 hours in previously, the developers went and added another huge update and now I am likely to get 100 more hours in just playing it all again!
This game has something for everyone. Different game modes keep things fresh (I am trying the Hex shape mode this time around) and although I really enjoy the logic automation side of this game myself, it is not a requirement of the game. Actually, I did not touch wires at all on my very first play-through.
This game does not feel like an early access game at all and I think it is visually stunning. The £20 standard cost is an absolute bargain and absolutely worth every penny. At the time of writing this review, the game is on sale but honestly, even full priced is worth it.
I love this game. The updates are very good and the whole game is just the most intuitive application that I know! Everything just makes fun! I recommend buying this game.
PS: English is not my first language (:
i love shapez so much that its cleared my mind of everything but space platforms and trains
I've only ever played this and the original Shapez, so I can't compare to other factory games. But I think it's really well done and addictive gameplay.
AMAZING game. All I could personally ask for in a factory game. Definitely would recommend.
Awesome and addicting game with great updates!
They took everything good from Factorio, removed everything bad, and added their own touch to the genre. The animations are beautiful, soundtrack is amazing, both sound and UX design are perfect.
I had fun with the game at first. The mechanics are solid, the interface is clean, and it's clearly a well-made game. But after a while, the sense of progression faded. I kept unlocking more complex shapes, but it started to feel a bit directionless — like there was no real goal beyond just… more shapes.
I wish Steam had a neutral option, because I don’t want to give this a negative review — it’s not a bad game. But I also can’t fully recommend it unless you're really into factory-building purely for the joy of optimization.
Flatter, variated satisfactory.
Or simpler Factorio
Fun, but there isn’t the sense of motivation to continue with all the objectives like there is in Factorio.
Wish I could give a neutral review because the game is good, it's just not for me.
The two deal breakers for me are:
- Progression feels bad because you frequently have to tear out entire chunks of your factory and build something else to fulfil goals, rather than e.g. Factorio, where iron plates made using your first furnace stack are just as valid crafting ingredients as iron plates using endgame machines
- It's very zen garden, there's no push back from anything, only goals you can meet whenever you want, which might be perfect for some people
But I cannot deny it's a polished game (especially for early access) by a developer that seems to genuinely care about it. It's just not my style.
The original Shapez game completely sucked me in for weeks. I thought that was one of the best realized logistics games I'd ever played. Turns out it was just a storyboard pitch for the real game, Shapez 2. The dev has really outdone themself this time.
This game is not bad, and work well but I can't find it really fun.
There are several reasons for that, the first one being that creating abstract shapes is not something I find very interesting.
Another is that I don't feel any sentiment of progresstion. A good part of that is because it seems most shapes factory line need to be broken down/are useless after doing the mission, or at least that's what I felt. They don't really depends on previous shapes.
A big part of the difficulty of the game is approvisionnement of enough of each shapes in all their colors, and I basically factorized that, which was the period of fun I had in the game. It was too easy to have all the supplies I needed and in the end there was no difficulties in creating build lines for the new shapes, it was just basics things in the good orders, so I gave up on the game.
I still recommend trying it out though.
So many factory games live and die by their UI and how easy it is to manage, see and modify your factory. This game's ability to make template, save blueprints and leverage shortcuts makes this one a very easy factory manager to control.
My favorite part is how there's not a main character you have to manually walk around like in Factorio or Satisfactory. I still like that form of managing a factory but it can get tedious walking around and working on the intricate details of your factory towards the late game. The ability to control a factory game like a management simulator in a top-down perspective is refreshing and makes for a much more lower paced and relaxing gameplay.
The theming is also very original and its nice to play a factory game where you're not just processing ore and rods and are dealing with a completely new mechanic with shapes and colors which gives it a fresh take on what a factory could do and be. Overall, very relaxing and satisfying.
i literally just started this game but im already addicted lol
This is a fantastic and satisfying game! I shouldn't have waited so long to get into it.
Absolutely amazing game. Tons of strategies and things to do, even though it's still in early access.
100 hours in, built my first make anything machine, and am looking forward to doing more.
A beautiful and logical extension of shapez 1.
I have just completed the initial tutorial and I am so impressed with the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and just general ergonomics of the game play. Really excited to play more!
It's heaven on Earth. Infinite machines, no restrictions*, just pure efficient glory.
*there's a limit to space platforms, but you can place thousands
I played the original Shapez, and past a certain point, I wasn't really a fan of it because it felt clunky and awkward, so I held off on getting the sequel until a couple of days ago.
I regret not playing this game sooner. All the problems I have with the first game are long gone, and I absolutely love it.
Great game for relaxing while pushing our brain to optimize stuff assembling!
Great satisfaction on going from initial chaotic designs that will also work to fine optimization!
Mechanically, this game is amazing. Some of the best factory building i ever experienced, everything is so fluid and intuitive. It looks great, sound good, plays even better. Devs are constantly adding new features and polishing old ones. If you are, like me, a fan of a big juicy factory, this is a treat for sure.
Thematically, this game is nothing. Factory building for the sake of factory building. You are not smelting iron, processing uranium, improving your colony or building anything of any significance. You are making shapes that are, quite literally, getting flushed down the big toilet. After making some [CwRwCwCw:P-P-P-P-:CcCcCcCc]s, you buy small upgrades for your tools, then demolish everything you created and start over with a different shape. This is the fundamental point of Shapez 2.
This is the never-ending factory, perpetually changing, evolving, growing, extending its spaghetti in its infinite search for unobtainable true efficiency. Sounds like heaven or hell depending on person.
Great game. If you have a passion for problem solving and process refinement, this is a game for you.
A very relaxing game, meditative, helps to relax after a hard day
Fantastic game, perfect mix of casual and intense gameplay based on settings, and the game is being actively updated, what's better than that?
Amazing game even in it's early access. No issues or bugs found whatsoever. Definitely worth the price.
I can't stop playing
I will start and all of a sudden it is several hours later
I finish a goal and then immediately look at the next one and start calculating how to adjust my current layouts
Oh and the full extended soundtrack is incredible, including songs from Shapez 1 and it's DLCs
10/10
this game is a pure gem its a truly relaxing and a very satisfying game to play after a long day or any day for that matter. I would strongly suggest to give this game a shot if your into machinery and automation the progression is perfect and really keeps you engaged.
Really fun game to just chill and pass time. I enjoy it. I really wish there was achievements. But still really fun :)
its a really good remake/sequel, captures the same general ideas as shapez but with way more freedom in 3d. originally got the game on patreon as a zip file, and it.. wasn't the best when i played it in its early beta lol. the game definitely passed my expectations though. good game, you should buy it if you love the original shapez game and factorio
its a decent game pretty easy to pick up and fun to work out if you are into that kinda thing
very chill factory-building game like the first game, you can focus on building and experimenting your factory without any annoyance. There are also lots of QoL features so I barely get frustrated in this game, at all.
fun fun fun fun fun fun factorio kind of game. I love it, how satisfying shapes fly, how satisfying shapes build. This is so calming ,and so time killing. I can feel the love and patience this product recieved. Definitely 10/10
One of the best, and most addictive factory games, the first that has hooked me worse than Factorio. Highly reccomended, especially if you liked the first one!
