Need to pay extra for this, get no updates, gets removed from steam store. Dont even get the win version instead.

Does not work on modern macs as this game is 32 bit only.
I actually do recommend this game. I really do. The story is great, characters are great, and it is fun! But apple no longer supports apps that aren't 64bit. DO NOT BUY. You won't be able to play. There are some people who use bootstrapper or time machine or have a separate disk on their mac to play this, but it causes performance issues.
64 bit. 32 bit. 16 bit. 8 bit, 4 BIT, 2 BIT, *1 BIT*, *HALF BIT*, *QUARTER BIT*.... *THE WRIST GAAAAAAME!!!!!!!*
storyline is confusing, cut scenes take forever and can't be skipped (have to watch them every single time you play), controls are also clumsy. whole game feels like you're being dropped into situations with zero explanation, and you end up dying before you can even figure out what you're supposed to be doing.
One of the best Mac FPS's for single player and multiplayer in its day. Keep in mind this was released over 3 years ago. IF you buy it new the multiplayer community is pretty small, but you can always find games on Nuketown or TDM.
Other notes: You can play with other Mac users only. No cross-play with PC users. BUT you can play with Mac App Store users which is pretty neat. You can make your own servers. Mods don't seem to work, but the game is a blast.
First off, this game has a really good storyline and I'm excited to see how it is expanded on in the new Black Ops Cold War. My only complaint is that AI on Veteran don't act like human players at all, they track you like they can see you through walls because they can, and some parts of it are just downright impossible and take hours to get passed, so everything else is good in this game, good zombies, good multiplayer.
The cut scenes and movie like game play where the enemy just keep coming until you figure out what you need to do, and having to play the same 3 to 5 minute section of game over and over again because the save points are so far apart was bad, but what was terrible was the number of times the game just crashed in a row (up to 8 tonight in the last half hour), which is why I can't recommend the mac version of this game. I'd have had more fun making a paper airplane out of a $20 bill and flying it off a tall building than I've had for the $20 cost of this game so far.
I used to have glitches and it would crash. The game crashed and the screen turned white or black and never returned to its normal state. But I kept playing until the game wouldnt crash. It finally worked and now i can play the game nice and smooth without glitches,lag or crashing. Mac version works just very annoying.
This game is great if you want to play Black Ops on a mac. I have had 1 problem with the game and even then when I Installed the Multiplayer it Worked Better. So any reviews saying there was a problem just Install the multiplayer and it will work fine.
Game runs smoothly for my 2017 Macbook Pro 15" and its a fun game. Not sure but I think one of the voices is Ice Cube. Either way, its a fun game. There have been a lot of people complaining about the game kicking them after they die, Well, I went through the entire game once already and have not experienced that at all. It's a good game overall but the zombie part is kinda wierd, Not sure what to think about it in the end but can say that the game overall is pretty badass,
Managed to beat the game in under 6 hours. A new personal record for me. The only downfall I have with this game, Is unlike a good majority of stuff on the steam market, It doesnt allow cross-platform. Something to consider when Buying. As such, I cant install multiplayer on my windows PC without rebuying the game.
good game best mac game, it was all goof for the amount of zombies I played till i had some issues. The problem is every time I try to load ascention it crashes in the loading screen. It used to load just fine. so i uninstalledand verified the files and they still didnt work. I payed for this game and one of the dlc I was wondering If this will be fixed or if you know how I can fix it.
Mac players beware, disappointingly this game still crashes. Tested on MacOS Mojave in a MacBook Pro 17 (touch bar). Found the same issues as in https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/2/490123197957126839/ . There’s a bug that will crash the game at random intervals during single player. Second, another bug will cause the game to freeze on a black screen after dying in the single player campaign.
This game has issues. I'm getting a message 'client exceeded number of errors' and then the game just crashes and I have to replay the whole level. Very irritating. Especially since I paid real money for this game.
Overall gameplay is not as good as other COD titles. This game feels like it was rushed out the door and then forgotten about. The COD MW redheaded stepchild.
All ye Mac peasants! I am one of you who games on mac! Take heed! This game is unkind to those that play zombie mode! Hark! All ye who may have macbooks that can't run this game on medium or low settings, forgo this game, tis a pity to play on weak hardware together with our small breed of gamers of House Apple!
If you came for campain and playing some private match with friends on zombies and multiplayer then its still pretty good for that but most servers are dead with little to few people on multiplayer and zombies servers. As far as I've seen have no-one on them ( as of 12 August 2017).
Don't do it. It's just not worth it. You will play the game and have fun, and then it will crash after you die, over... and over... and over again. You'll reload the game and sit through all the cutscenes only to die again and have it freeze at a white screen. It will happen again, and again, and again, and then you'll come here and write an angry review of the game.
After reading the reviews i was unsure about getting it but summer sale came and i got the special bundle and have booted the game up to find that it runs amazingly i am running 1080 60fps no probblem my imac is a 2011 modle with 4gb ram also game running through a external hardrive. however servers are empty but i love playing solo they did a great job witht his game and is a must have!!!
It is in my opinion one of the last good COD games. It has one of the most creative single player campaigns only being outdone by its sequel BO2 and the zombie mode is a personal favorite of mine. The multiplayer is nothing incredible, unbalanced weapons and stupid DLC, typical COD though, though i personally had a lot of fun with it. Overall pretty good, but not gonna blow you away
Would not recommend for zombies, the servers are terrible, hardly anyone plays and i bought the black ops dlc bundle and shangri la is missing. I have reinstalled and everything and it still won't appear, wasted £30. I would have been better of buying all dlc on ps3 sure it would cost more but at least more people play it and the servers are much better. If you want this game for campaign and multiplayer than you might like it, but for zombies its just terrible.
my friend has a Window's laptop. He has Black Ops, can he play with me despite playing this game on a Mac? Anyway, this game is great for anyone who use's an Apple computer. I recommend this game
ok, i never liked black ops but i have to say the campaign is GREAT, i can see why zombies is so addictive and fun because it it. multiplayer, myaaaaa i donno hat to say really i mean it's not great nor is it awful. a few problems is tht this version is only for mac, you can only play with mac players, this does however included people who bought it from the apple app store, aspyer etc. but I've noticed a large number of people decided to just get it off U-torrent. over all for what it costs i dnno. i mean it's alright i suppose and it's cheaper than the pc version but the rpice is still quite bad, if a sale comes get this game, if not well then it's a risk for you to take.
