It's kind of pathetic
You get all erratic
About dirty dishes
Congesting the sink.
I'm tired of your bothers,
Remember our fathers
They dwelled in a world
Filled with rubbish and stink.
But when all hope was lost
Someone raised from the dust
He was handsome and cunning
His haircut had style.
Courage was shining in his eyes
As he said screw you guys
Mind your own business
I'm off now goodbye.
Huzzah, he's off now goodbye.
i fucking hate this game, if i need to open up a guide for every single lunatic puzzle then i might as well watch a full playthrough on youtube
I liked it! Monkey Island vibes with a deliberately hard-to-like protagonist. Surely the guy is going to redeem himself at some point? Or is he? Surely the other characters in the game can't be even worse? Or can they?
I found the puzzles pretty good on the whole, with one or two really neat ones. Part of the joy of these kind of games for me is getting stuck, then having some idea when I'm not even playing the game, then trying it out. The feeling when it works is great (it often doesn't).
I also loved how Droggeljug mode even replaces the lyrics of the bard songs with Droggeljug, that was a nice touch and made me laugh.
If you like old school point and clickers and wandering around scratching your head - give it a go.
Yeah. Was good. I like point-and-click adventure games more than I used to... and this is a funny one.
9/10
Excellent game! Be careful of the magnet puzzle, it is glitchy.
people couldn't handle having an unlikable mc and it shows clear as day with those negative reviews.
I can't say anything for puzzles, since I used walkthroughs most of the time because of my interest in the story itself, not the gameplay. although I admit puzzles are confusing and it's only getting worse in the second, third and doomsday games. so as a point-and-click game this game kind of sucks? or maybe it's just me having a skill issue.
the artstyle is adorable and cinematic clips are the main reason i bought the entire series, the story suprisingly lowkey interesting and somewhat complex. as for the rufus problem - i don't believe there's anything transphobic neither sexist going on here (the first game), the most problematic game out of all four is goobye deponia (pains me to say that since it's my fav one, unfortunately).
it is explained why mc acts the way he does in the following games, but y'all people are judging this silly puzzle game from 2012 way too harshly. because the offensive stuff (at least what you find offensive) is jokes. it's a german game from early 2010s - humor had changed since then, duh. getting mad at this is the same as getting mad at southpark episodes.
Junk.
I'm sorry but this game is just not my one where i have fun playing it.
You know I don't know why this series isn't more well known. I for one love the artstyle and animation. Reminds me a bit of Newgrounds mixed with Monkey Island. Its a bit dated at parts but not too much I think. I'd say the need to either brute force solutions to work or get a guide was a little annoying. Still I had fun and recommend the series if you like point-and-click adventures. 7/10
At times this game was fun, but it stumbled more than it succeeded. Its attempts at humor are lazy, sexist, and transphobic, even for 2012. The protagonist is a creep. There's no real character arc.
There are multiple puzzles that are more about banging your head against a wall than reasoning through, and there are similarly some parts of the game where I found myself just trying every item in my inventory on a thing.
Deponia is a great game. Developed by Daedalic when they made quality games versus junk like Gollum

Overall 7/10
I got to the magnet detonation puzzle and, after shutting the game down to take a break, I was unable to move the magnets. I tried going back to an earlier save and had the same issue. I checked the discussion board and this seems to be a common problem. This game is 13 years old and the devs still haven't fixed something a lot of players have complained about. I am kicking myself for buying the whole collection. There are much better point and click games to play.
The Deponia games are an okay point and click franchise, but it peaked with this game.
Overall a fun game
hase a few bugs mostly visual and could be mostly fixed by loading an old save
and the puzzle leave you stuck some times where i needed help to get past and in hinsight hade some hints for what you needed to do wich where just hard to spot
my biggest hate for this game was that pets where hurt if this wasnt in the game i would give thumps up

My Experience: 🔧
I started Deponia with high expectations for an engaging point-and-click adventure, and while the game delivers some quirky charm and humor, my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The world of Deponia is colorful and imaginative, but as I played, I found myself getting frustrated by some of the puzzles and the somewhat clunky mechanics. The characters and writing are fun, but the overall experience didn’t live up to the hype.
Gameplay: 🛠️
The point-and-click adventure gameplay is classic, with you solving puzzles and interacting with various objects in the environment. While some puzzles are creative and satisfying, others feel like tedious trials of trial-and-error rather than clever challenges. The controls can be a bit awkward, and there are moments where the game’s logic doesn’t quite make sense, leading to unnecessary backtracking. It’s a game that offers some fun moments but can be bogged down by some frustrating gameplay choices.
Conclusion: 🌍
Deponia is a quirky, humorous adventure that shines in some areas but falls short in others. The world-building and writing are great, but the puzzle mechanics and occasional gameplay frustrations keep it from being a truly standout experience. It’s worth playing if you’re a fan of point-and-click games, but it may not be the smoothest adventure for everyone.

Getting the Droggeljug achievement destroyed my last braincell
A perfect point and click adventure. It has a lot of comedy and personality, even when sometimes it gets serious. Deponia is one of those point and click adventures were you control a sociopath, ludopath and kleptomaniac. Rufus is the core of the comedy and it makes the game enjoyable. 8/10
Deponia
Amazing classic point and click adventure games, save often because it's pretty buggy since the developers don't work on the games anymore since they got fired...
Deponia
Has a total of 8 trading cards.
Fun old school point and click game with comical banter and an entertaining story.
I love this game, the art and the worldbuilding and storytelling is really great. It is funny at times but also gets me thinking. It's not the usual puzzle game, you have to be very creative and think out of the box but that is very refreshing.
I admit, it might need some getting used to and I needed a few hints from guides here and there, but if you're willing to get into it, it is amazing.
Also at first I found the main characters annoying, but they do get great development and depth (at least Rufus and Goal) and I hope the others will too in the next games. At the very leat Rufus is a main character you rarely see, and it works!
Droggeljug? Droggeljug!
Kinda interesting, can't wait to play the rest!

Deponia is a strange, humorous, and enjoyable game. While slow paced, and mouse clicker driven, the game kept my attention via the many dialogue options and interesting artistic backgrounds.
The game was mostly problem free and a fun experience.
I found myself liking Deponia, despite its age. I recommend the game for a casual and relaxed game.
this game is great and fun! i love the puzzles and the game's mechanics
UPDATED:
So it looks like you need to right click the windshield after cleaning it, rather than left clicking the windshield. So far only 1 bug then.
ORIGINAL POST:
This game is full of PROGRESSION STOPPING BUGS. For example, if you choose the wrong blast detonation sites, you can no longer progress in the game and must reload an old save file or download another one. The second game breaking bug I found was after the windshield of the truck is cleaned, Hannek is supposed to give you the option of selecting Sugarpuff to get the keys, but this never happens, and I had to lose progress and load yet another save file. I'm DONE with these bugs!

*this review applies mainly to the English version of the game
This game started out great. I loved the artwork, the voice-acting was good, but some of the music didn't seem to fit in certain sections. No problem, I turned the music down to a low level. I was having fun, but immediately ran into issues with the dialogue. Many words that were translated were either incorrect or used incorrectly. There are items in the game, which look like Washers, which the game calls Muffs, for example. There are colored glass windows in the game which they label Mosaic Tables. These are just a couple of examples. There is even the inclusion of words that don't exist in the English language; Bi-Naural.
Here is an example of a sentence used in the game, which is a hint for a puzzle, that makes no sense -- "As long as the mauve muff has to stay attached to the cubical body, there will never be an avial power inverter with a mauve muff." This game is rife with bad grammar, misuse of words, nonsensical sentences. There are many continuity problems in this game as well. The ending of the game, without adding spoilers, doesn't make any sense. The voice acting, mostly, was very good, but, even then, there were issues. When a subtitle read, "Pfft", rather than make the exclamation sound that is intended, the voice-actor tried to pronounce it like a word; "Puh-fff-tuh."
I had issues with some puzzles not triggering an the intended event once I performed a certain action. This caused me to think I was missing something, so I did a lot of backtracking to figure out what I'd missed. After exhausting all my options, I came back and performed the same action a few times, and the event triggered. There were issues with achievements not popping also. I had to go to previous game saves and redo actions to get the achievements involved. There is one achievement called Drogglejug which is buggy, and requires you go to the developers website, download and install a save-game file, in order to complete this achievement. This achievement is not easy to get, and, from what I read, is an inside joke from another game that Daedalic made, which I haven't played. There are also several infuriating psuedo-puzzles in the game, which you'll waste your time solving, only to find that it was nothing but a red herring, designed to extend the game-play. I spent a good amount of time on one of these "puzzles", which had a couple achievements attached to it, only to realize it did nothing to advance the game.
Given the professional reviews of this game(on the store page), I wonder how long these professionals even spent playing the game. There are so many problems with this game, I could never recommend it. It is a shame too, because the game has the atmosphere of a good Point & Click game. I only paid $0.99U.S., and I bought it in a bundle. I'm hoping the sequels to this game aren't as bad. I really wish companies like this would hire a good proofreader/translator, who is fluent in both the orignal language and the language being translated to. Lastly, this game is fairly short; less than 22hours, and that's not all play time; the game would be running while I'm eating, doing other things around the house, etc. I would say I might have gotten 12-15hours of play, and that is being generous. I'm hoping in the future Daedalic will learn from their mistakes, because they do have potential, and the game wasn't all bad; they got many things right, in my opinion.
Really Loved the Story ....Gameplay and Puzzle were kind of MEH ....but the story kept me GOING.....RUFUSSS IS ME >>>ME IS RUFUUSSS 😂👌
The main character gets better. It leaves me intrigued to see where future games go.
Just an infuriating experience. The writing is meh, and the main character is annoying, which would be fine if this wasn't a genre where the main character is CONSTANTLY TALKING. The puzzle design is also ass.
This is a good game in narrative and style, however, the game makers should have thought before adding in so many little details that it makes the game an annoying pain to play. Why am I having to go to five different locations fifteen times for one mission or object? If someone needs the walkthrough for 85% of the game, it's not a game.
The early stages of the game are fun enough, but as the game progresses, the goals get less clear and the puzzles get more obtuse. The player is forced into questionable plot choices late in the game that may not sit well. At the current time, there are game crippling bugs. I personally encountered a bug that made a puzzle unsolvable; I had no choice but to restart the game. Later, I encountered bug that put a puzzle into an inconsistent state that made it frustratingly more difficult to solve than intended.
Good Game
Rufus is my biggest hear me out
Good game
Has a bug that prevents you from progressing
Genuinely lovely
GOTY
I ran into a bug, apparently this bug is known by the developers but they don't want to fix it because the game is so old and it's not "feasible" to keep fixing it up. Maybe don't ask 10 euros for the game then? I feel scammed.
The voices cut out half way through making it seem really quiet and vacant.
The puzzels often made no sense at all and direction also misleading to the point of a guide being a necessity ruining the enjoyment of the game.
Fun, funny, and a decent story and gameplay
This has a bug which has been known for 4 years and is not fixed and stops play. Not an unusual case either. Poor to leave a broken game to be paid for,
It's definetly the worst pne out of the 4 Deponia games, but it is still a good game
Mixed feelings on this one so far, but the comedy is mostly landing. The German dub is vastly superior to the English, however in terms of delivery.
That said, the main mixed feelings are coming from Lotti coming across as a bit of a Caricature, to put it lightly. That said, The game is from 2012, so the fact that her gender is validated at all is a win in that context. Doesn't mean that design aged well, but, like I said, mixed feelings.
That aside, classic point and click goodness with a protagonist I love to hate.
One of the best Point & Click i ever played interesting plot and beautiful drawing.
