I can't figure out how to lock the frame rate because it goes all over the place if I try to play it with mouse injection. The acceleration is also a bit screwy. I loved this game back in the day but this port needs some features like framerate cap and disable mouse acceleration for the injection.

A bargain bin classic! What it lacks in quality and refinement it makes up for with charm and pure fun. Sadly, the PC version lacks split-screen co-op, which is the best feature.

Completely broken. love the og game on ps2 as a kid. was excited to play again. character freezes mid air or the whole game crashes.
What a flashback to my earlier days, hard to believe this was released 22 years ago, still holds up exceptionally well, the controls are as smooth as they've always been and the commands are easy to get after some time. After playing the PS2 version endlessly I was very pleased to see this game pop up on the store, even if this is the only game out the franchise available, first played when I was 5, now I'm 23...regardless everything is exactly as I remembered it to be. Though, unlike 5 year old me I've become more diplomatic and less full on combat, while this game might not have changed, I certainly have XD. For 3.99 you can't go wrong. This is the best game regarding war I've played- 4 rangers, each with their specific set of firearm skills. Yet I can't help but think this 4 man squad are only a cheque away from being the cast of Predator '87- Dutch-> Bradley, Blain-> Connors, Hawkins-> Foley & Mac as Jones

I really wanted to like this game, but the steam version is very jank. upon opening the application the intro looked a bit off, characters weren't moving and the textures were blinking. I figured this would be the only time I encounter bugs for the whole game. Unfortunately I was dead wrong. When you jump off a ledge your character will remain stuck in a frozen state for some unexplained reason, and even if your character is dropping from a helicopter or a small curb your character will do a goofy pose before being softlocked into the game. In short, Conflict Desert storm is not very well optimized for modern platforms and the first and second main enemies in this game would be the sensitivity and the glitchy textures. Iraq's soldiers wouldn't even be the main threat, because you constantly have to fight over your own controls. This isn't a personal jab at the developers, but the fact that I truly care for this game and I hate to see it in a broken state like this. I'll give this game a second chance once all the bugs are fixed. Wherever the developers are now. I hope they can get together sometime soon and revive the series in someway shape or form. These games were apart of everyone's childhood, and sometimes its best to take a break from modern systems and relive older titles for a change. These are the types of games we should be keeping alive, despite its simplistic design. Less sometimes means better.

Directx 8.1 error. I only got the game because I want Conflict Global Terror, the S tier game. It's called Conflict Global Storm in the UK. I want that game but all they have is this one.
glitchy cant fall off 1mm cliff and sensitivity wonky but great game grew up playing it on the gamecube.
camera sucks crosshair is off ps2 and xbox versions are better the game is good the pc version is not

This game was ahead of its time and the mechanics and everything is awsome but sadly this version on steam is janky with game breaking glitches. I keep getting my characters stuck!

While the original console versions (XBOX/PS2) are superior and more stable than this PC version, Desert Storm is still a solid enough tactical-TPS.
You control 4 American or British soldiers during Operation Desert Storm in the early 1990s. Each soldier has a different role in combat. Missions are decently varied but enemies are very repetitive, not that it can be helped much due to the game's historical setting.
The game is a bit jank and may be prone to crashing on modern systems, especially in the later missions where a lot more things are happening at once. The first 3 sequels are much better than this one but they are not currently available for purchase.
Desert Storm is cheap but you can wait for a sale if you want to. I know I did.
Just use Rivatuner and cap the FPS to 60. I have experienced no problems at all, the game runs just like it did 20 years ago
forget the neg reviews... its a 22 year old game, if you cant figure out or couldnt be bothered figuring out how to run a 22 year old game, then its not for you... the negative reviewers are clowns one and all

I kinda want my money back. Game performance/port is abysmal. Why did they let this into the market in this state??
negative reviewers have soft hands and a distinctive lack of calluses. if you've only played bad games for handicapped children like helldivers then this game will make your fucking head explode and your skull fragments will turn into shrapnel that will rip through anyone standing near you when you open this game for the first time.
The game is actually just broken. There may be some fixes but it requires going into your files and such. Awful port. Stole money from us.
Runs perfectly if you use RivaTuner to cap the frame rate to 60 and dgvoodoo2 to up the resolution and improve the visuals.
I have played the regular, unmodified, Steam sold version of this game for quite a bit. It has soo many flaws that it ruins the feel of this game. I grew up playing, and LOVING this game on the PS2. Why did the PC version fuck it up. 100 hours into this game and it isn't worth any price point with all the bugs and glitches. THE PS2 VERSION RAN BETTER THAN THIS. This is clearly beyond my understanding, since I don't program video games, but I understand this game, and this is a HORRID version of it. NO. DO NOT THE PURCHASE

This game is a childhood memory for me. I had loved playing this game since I was 3 years old and it was comforting and fun game for me to play.
