The game mechanics were fun, but the story is crap! I read the book 2-3 days prior to playing this game, and the story in the book is way better than what was put in the game. I was really looking forward to seeing how particular scenes from the book would be shown in a HO game, but most of the characters from the book are not in the game including the bad guy! How do you not include the story's bad guy in this game? And since most characters weren't in the game, that means most scenes from the book are omitted.
Buy when on sale....very typical puzzle game.

Even if you play "Hard"-Mode the game is still quite easy, it gives you tons of achievements, the chambers of the castle are pretty. Good game ^^

Love this game. Really wish this was the Collector's Edition, though. I can't seem to find it available anywhere.
It's a fantasy, sci-fi Sherlock and the Hound of the Baskervilles about time travel. I LIKE IT!
A very good older HOG with an interesting story. There is fast travel on the map, except for when you finish locations they will disappear from it. You can still revisit the normal way if you choose to. The beat the game achievement is mislabelled. So you do have to play two full runs in order to get all of the achievements. Make sure to play on the same profile to get them all. The HO pictures are decently hard in this game. The puzzles are variable with one extremely hard puzzle. The medallion powers you get along the way are a fun gimmick.
Very fun! A nice combination of hidden objects and brainteasers. The medallion powers add a little bit of extra variety to the whole thing, and there's some fun in the plot, although not much sense! Not a long game, but that's good - it doesn't outstay its welcome.
As an avid reader of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series, seeing Hound of the Baskervilles as a mystery and thriller game combined into a hidden object hunt completed my fill of play for tonight. I was looking for something that would attune my autistic OCD desires to quickly look for items as if the world is a vast “Where’s Waldo” maze. This classic reminds me why I loved the Mystery Case Files series: heavy lore, grand narrative, and puzzles that can be easy or complex (depending on your familiarity with the genre). It was a good 3+ hours of sustaining my needs to be enormously hyperfocused on intricate details—and I will certainly be getting my hands on the hard mode anytime soon!
This is a great game, especially for those who enjoy mystery. While the story itself was fairly straightforward, I found it to be a refreshing change from more complex narratives. Sometimes, a simple plot can be just as engaging. The gameplay kept me hooked, and the mystery elements were intriguing enough to make it hard to put down. I completed it in one sitting, and I’d definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for something immersive but not overly complicated.

Story make literally no sense, nothing gets explained at all, it follows no lofic and reason and Holmes is just fine with that, Hidden objects are fine and puzzles vary. Some are interesting, some are easy and one is just stupidly difficult. I prefer some logic in games I play, moreso if it is adventure and this one offers none but I suppose it can distract for some time if you don't think about it at all.
