Single Player Campaign
- Ten years after a devastating mass event, America’s borders and the balance of global power have changed forever. As what's left of the nation's Special Operations forces, a mysterious group known only as "Ghosts" leads the fight back against a newly emerged, technologically-superior global power.
- A New Call of Duty Universe: For the first time in franchise history, players will take on the underdog role with Call of Duty: Ghosts; outnumbered and outgunned, players must fight to reclaim a fallen nation in an intensely personal narrative. Gamers will get to know an entirely new cast of characters and visit locales in a changed world unlike anything seen in Call of Duty® before.
Multiplayer
- In Call of Duty: Ghosts you don't just create a class, you create a soldier, a first for the franchise. In the new Create-A-Soldier system, players can change the physical appearance of their soldier by choosing the head, body type, head-gear and equipment, and for the first time in a Call of Duty® game, the player can also choose their gender. With 20,000 possible combinations, this is the most flexible and comprehensive character customization in Call of Duty history.
- New dynamic maps are the evolution of multiplayer. They include interactive elements and player triggered events that make the environment evolve as each match goes on. The entire landscape can shift and force players to change tactics and strategies.
- Call of Duty: Ghosts introduces new tactical player movements. The new contextual lean system now allows players to lean around obstacles without adding button combinations or fully leaving cover. The new mantling system allows fluid movement over objects, while maintaining momentum. The knee slide allows for a natural transition from sprinting crouching to prone.
- Call of Duty: Ghosts delivers over 20 NEW Kill Streaks such as Juggernaut Maniac, the Helo Scout, the Vulture and the ODIN Strike. Players can even bring in guard dog Riley, from the single-player campaign, to protect and also to attack enemies. There are also over 30 NEW weapons, including an entirely new weapon class: Marksman Rifles.
Squads
- Build your team and take up to 6 of them into battle in the all new Squads mode. This mode takes the best parts of the multiplayer experience and allows you to play either solo or cooperatively with the custom soldiers created and leveled up in multiplayer.
- The load-out choices you make for your Squad members will directly change the AI behavior of your squad-mates. Give your soldier a sniper rifle and he'll behave like a sniper, and an SMG guy will be more run and gun.

I liked it when it came out on the ps3, after playing through it on pc again, i dont get why it was so hated when it came out. the ending is the worst they leave it on a cliffhanger and never followed up on it in future games but thats the only bad thing about this game.
Game feels like some real shit. Better then cod4(mwr) and mw2.
campaign is good, but what cod campaign isnt good in retrospect? they get worse every year.

the aliens are a nice spin from zombies. honestly good. haters of it sucked and didnt adapt. good concept. meh execution. zombies but jumpers, exploders, and everything else youd want.
I love that game. A friend of mine recommended it and i love it. The Campain not Multiplayer. Would recommend playing Story. And would recommend seeing the keybinds because i threw 10 times grenades at the npcs on accident and restarted the whole mission again because of a miss click
I never really got to play it when it was launched, but I love the campaign even though it is one of the shortest ones. I still find myself having fun playing private matches with bots if not replaying the story. Not worth $60, but it goes on sale throughout the year, and I'd immerse yourself in the story of Logan when it does. P.S. Don't let the hours fool you, I have played it for hundreds of hours on the PS3 in the old days.

Otherwise in my opinion, this game would been way better to have better experience in the game.
Returning player that simply wanted to enjoy this game for what it was again. This CoD helped me meet so many cool people and some of them I still play with till this day. Truly a gem of a game and exactly what I was hoping for when I decided to rebuy this on steam after playing on console all those years ago.

Never understood the hate this game got, especially the campaign. Okay maybe multiplayer was underwhelming, but overall not a bad call of duty game. Loved this game back then and still love it now. Hopefully there is a universe where ghosts 2 was made. 10/10 Campaign

Call of Duty: Ghosts
recently revisited Call of Duty: Ghosts, and I must say, it was an absolute blast! This game truly deserves more love than it gets. The storyline is engaging, with a fresh take on the Call of Duty universe that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The characters are well-developed, and the emotional moments hit hard, making you truly invested in their journey.
The graphics, even for a game released a while ago, are impressive. The environments are beautifully designed, offering a variety of stunning landscapes that really enhance the overall experience. This game is the reason why I got even more invested with the CoD series so much fun to play. And the first CoD to let you play against bots, and since me and my sibling didn't have internet at the time them having bots made it so much fun to play against each-other. 8.6/10
The current state of Call of Duty makes Ghost look like a masterpiece, of course I still acknowledge this game has issues but wow they're really minuscule at this point.
Now onto my main talking point.
Extinction is the most over hated/under appreciated side mode in CoD history. So much hate and indifference simply because it wasn't zombies. Extinction is a side mode that did a great job being a cooperative PVE with a bigger emphasis of player having to work together as well as a solid class/loadout system that gave player more options/strategies. A system so good that Black Ops 4 tried to copy for zombies with mixed results, zombies wasn't designed with a Class/Specialists. Extinction was designed with classes and abilities that have a roll in said game mode.
I hope Activision isn't in that level of desperation to remake Ghost and by extension bring back Extinction. I rather they keep forgetting this game existed it's highly likely that Extinction would just get gutted like a fish getting rid of everything that makes this game mode great.
I have no faith in that Black Ops 2 remake/sequel whatever it is and I don't trust them in continuing Ghost.
This was a great campaign with an unexpected ending--loved every minute of it. As usual, as far as campaigns are concerned, COD rarely disappoints.
There is no option to play offline Extinction. The console version of the game required you to complete the first 3 campaign missions to unlock the Extinction game variant as an alternate campaign much like Zombies in other Call of Duty games. This is not an option with the steam version and personally I am disappointed that I only received half of the game that I paid for.
Alright game. A few cringe moments in the campaign though. Bought it for nostalgia reasons mostly so yeah, if you are new to Call of Duty choose a different game like World at War, Black Ops 1 or 2, or the original Modern Warfare trilogy, they are far better. If you have no nostalgia for it you probably wont get much out of it. In many ways its the Halo 4 of the COD franchise.

Extinction 10/10 -unique side mode that never returned in COD. I've found lobbies. Best with friends or others but can be done solo.
On sale hardened version is worth it for all the Extinction maps. Very underrated game

Absolute Kino. Ghosts was my first ever COD I played and it's so much more fun than any other modern shooters. Great campaign but even greater visuals.

Gameplay is one of the best COD's in my opinion. The playing the campaign is a lot of fun.
However, in terms of narrative they missed the mark. It's not bad, its just that they throw all the information at you and then the game just runs. But as the story progresses the only character that I feel attached to in any way is Merrick. The story is just lacking element to make it cohesive.
If its on sale, grab it. The gameplay is a lot of fun. But outside of the campaign there isn't a lot of other content.
(Note multiplayer has private matches with bots, so it is worthwhile to check that out)

I played through the campaign only once, back in 2013 on my xbox360 and I literally forgot everything about the game, except that there is a dog in it (lol). It's been 12 years, but HOLY COW, this campaign is GOD tier without any exaggeration. An absolute masterpiece, 10/10!!! 20 bucks well spent and I couldn't care less how old the game is. It's simply worth it.

Hot off the Masterpiece that was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and the commercial successes of Modern Warfare 2 & 3, Infinity Ward returns without its leadership to crap out Ghosts, a title so insipidly bland and emotionally disingenuous that you can almost see the inflection point where Activision took its dive into complete irrelevance. The story premise is simple: You're the son of an elite operative called a Ghost. You and your brother join that self-same team under the leadership of your father, to catch another ex-Ghost that helped South America destroy the U.S...blah blah blah. The story is nonsensical garbage.
Gun play is mediocre. AI is abjectly awful. Combat is purposefully cheap and abusive. The graphics are perhaps the nadir of the series, with photocopied, sepia-toned wasteland after wasteland. The game has a few interesting set-pieces, like all Call of Duties, but this game lacks the gravitas, tension and gun play of its predecessors. Multiplayer is dead and the game, even on a hefty sale, is hardly worth it with a forgettable, formulaic, moronic campaign of 6 hours.
6.5/10.
Avoid. Press L Mouse and R Mouse to uninstall this piece of crap, especially after such an unsatisfying and absurd ending.

Umm not sure why the game got so many turds back in the day, it was ok to me. Multiplayer was a bit too fast paced as guns did too much damage, that probably never changed, idk. Had a few fun matches with throwing knife and riot shield back when the game was new. Not bad

This one I really mixed for me.
Story is meh and kinda stupid. Worldbuilding wise it's completely off the rails and makes 0 sense. Characters are kinda meh. Missions and locations are dope tho, great variaty, you go hunting after ships in the depths of the sea all the way to space.
Some missions are pretty broken, especially first and last one, as in you get stuch in enviroment and have to restart checkpoints or even whole missions to proceed further.
Story also ends with a major cliffhanger that could be interesting but they never followed it up since the game crashed and burned :(
Extinction is fun but kinda same-y, you always do the same thing from beginning till the end which lowers the replay value.
Multiplayer was fun but nobody plays it now.
Would recommend to fans but only on sale.
no matter what people say, this game has one of the best campaigns
