It looks good, sounds good, but that's it.
Gameplay is totally messed up. The main feature is broken and vehicle physics isn't good enough.
Fireburst is essentially a budget Motorstorm game with the addition of vehicular combat. Being that I was never a fan of Motorstorm, I thought I would hate this game, but actually, I like this way more than expected.
The biggest thing for me is the vehicular combat. It expands on the heat mechanic in Motorstorm by spewing out fire when boosting to explode other enemies. This also allowed them to make an arena deathmatch mode based of this mechanic. This alone make the game much more interesting than just the barebones racing of Motorstorm. You have to be way more tactical with the boost, and making sure to avoid the other racers.
I also like the challenges they have. There is no 'career mode', but to unlock other characters, and vehicles, they have a challenge series. Some of the challenges are boring, but others mix it up. My personal favorite was when the game inversed the driving controls. Gas was brake, brake was gas, etc. It did something I haven't seen a game do before, and I loved it for that.
For the vehicles, and environments, they are great. There is no motorcycles/dirt bikes, but you can choose from muscle cars, buggies, vans, SUVs, trucks, etc. The environments are also interesting, and varied. Some are in industrial areas, some take place in desert areas, some on forestry mountains, etc. They atleast do a good job of mixing up vehicle types, and environments.
However, this game is a more low budget title as I mentioned before, so don't expect triple A quality when going into this. Vehicles feel floatly, physics can be wonky at times, the music is generic (although not bad), graphics are lacking for an Unreal Engine 3 game, and they made no effort to have a controls/graphical settings page, as in the launcher, they literally opens the BaseEngine.ini and FSInput.ini to edit yourself. Yes, I'm not kidding.
Fireburst is definitely not for everyone, especially for die hard Motorstorm fans, but I think the game offers enough that even with it's flaws, its still an enjoyable experience.

Probably , the shortest ever racing game I have played which I still loved. Although, no racing game is short or long, because the in-game menu style is as simple as quick race mode and challenge mode giving you not much variety and motivation to play it for longer once you fully exhaust every race type, every map, every environment, track and challenges. But I fell in love with this cute game.
The game comes with 7-8 different maps including ports, off-roads, mountains, docks, air fields and the style and art of is simply mesmerizing to eyes.
Racing style of the game is as smooth as any other racing game and handling is quite easy with no extraneous efforts involved. Just use arrow keys and boost button and you are good to go, if you have played any grand theft auto car, you know what I mean.
The game involves smashing and wrecking and rampaging the other players allowing you creative freedom to do whatever you want to do to win the race. You press boost for long and the car explodes, you use boost and creates a fire wheel or fire field sort of thing , making other players vulnerable to gushing explosion anyone found to be within your fire field. Roadrash style
Some maps are difficult to tackle than the others.
The game comes with a soul-touching and heart pounding songs, I am certainly going download this soundtrack album for my long-drives drive out or even short drive but trust me, the songs played in the game deserves pulitzer award . Its just brilliant.
If you like Motorstorm, get this. Not bad but not good, and definitely not as good as Motorstorm. Cheap and has cool tracks, my personal favorite being the oil rig track.
I love it when I spend under 3 Australian Dollars for an almost 10 year old game, that doesn't advertise controller or Win 10 support, and it just works flawlessly from first launch and x input controllers work great as well.
Capcom, take note - with your generally much more expensive games often having issues!

Anyway, this is just pure arcade racing with ultra high speed, jumps, nitro boosts (which is also a weapon), and slammin' tunes as you're racing.
If anything, it kind of reminds me of Excite Truck on Wii, although no arcade truck racer will ever take that throne.. But honestly, this is still really really good.
Just a straightforward single player campaign seems to be the order of the day, but my 10 minutes of playtime thus far was in the quick race mode, which told me all I needed to know, that for what I paid, this rocks. Simple as that really.
Note, multiplayer servers are still up, even though not listed as such on the Steam product page. I successfully logged in but left immediately before anyone came online. I doubt anyone DOES come online anymore, but we could always set up a bunch of community races if there is interest.
Again, this game just surprised me. All in a good way.

- some of the challenges are too difficult to be fun
- the handling is a mixed bag
- first person view is useless (very narrow FOV, too shaky, and almost no sense of speed)
- a bit short, could have had more races in campaign mode

Fireburst is basically just Motorstorm with boost takedown mechanics, but with terrible physics and really cheesy, stereotypical (also unmemorable) characters.
There isn't really much to say, you have multiple kinds of boost systems that can take down other cars with different ways, and you blow up if you boost too much.
There are barrels around the track; blue for water barrels which cool down your car, and red ones that heat it up and can cause your car to blow.
The game is super easy and can be completed 100% under 4 hours.
I kinda like the track design in this game, I really think there was thought put behind that aspect of the game.
But the physics just hold it back waaay too much.
This is a great-looking, polished and working arcade racer with gorgeous maps and interesting mechanics and it's a shame that nobody is playing or at least remembering this game, apparently. If you just buy this on sale for the singleplayer content as I did, you still get a good 3-5 hours of content and some pretty rewarding moments.
Firebust is an enjoyable racing game which can get frustrating at times. Weather it is bad luck or good luck it does play an important part in this game. It is a matter of being in the right place at the right time on the track.
In order to take down your opponents you need to boost past them and set them on fire. This is what's called a Fireburst. It takes a bit of practise to get it right, but once mastered you will be well on your way. When hitting the boost button to create a Fireburst there is a huge delay on when it becomes active. This makes things a lot more difficult as you need to plan a couple of second ahead if you want to take out opponents. There is no quick opportunities here. On top of that you need to manage the heat of your car carefully because if you use the Firebust for to long or too much without hitting water then you will blow up your own car. It is a tricky gaming mechanic to master at first especially when there is other things going on screen as you play. However with a bit of practice and frustration getting the gaming mechanic right does make this racing game challenging and enjoyable. Once mastered however the game is relatively easy.
The graphics are sharp with the use of bold colours. The contrast in this game is a little unusual where the creators have used black widely throughout the game to obstruct your view at certain points of the tracks. However it does not affect the gameplay drastically. I did not come across any frame rate issues while playing even when the tracks and scenery are very detailed but are also very static. There is not much movement around the tracks other than the cars. This game is void of any atmosphere. They style of the graphics are good but it does make all the characters in the game look very ugly. I can't tell if this is done for artistic licence reasons or the design of the characters just look bad. The cars however do look good with large amounts of detail on them. Unfortunately you don't really get to see it on the track while playing.
The sound effects are pretty average. Nothing special, just a lot of clanging of metal and explosions when the cars hit something or somebody. The continues engine sounds cycling up through the gears even when you reach top speed does get a little annoying after a while, but it does not hinder your experience of the game too much.
The controls are very good, I used an Xbox controller when playing. They are sharp and responsive for making quick decision on the track when you are racing. If anything I would say that some of the vehicles do turn unrealistically sharp.
I have gone through the challenges in the game and I have managed to complete all of them. They sound a lot more difficult than they actually are to achieve. In some cases I have managed to win them by good luck, more times than losing them from bad luck. My problem with this game is that it did not take me long to complete all the challenges in the game, so I will declare that I found this game too easy. There is not enough in game challenges or achievement to keep you occupied for long. There is only so many times you can play a single player race or destruction derby without any goals before it gets tiresome.
I do recommend this game as a short time waster. There just needs to be more content in game to keep me playing for longer. If you are looking for an arcade racer, then this one is good as any. But if you are looking for a comprehensive racing game with a career mode then this is definitely not the one for you.
Fireburst is really the racing game with the most interesting mechanic that you've never heard about.
Fireburst has an interesting boost mechanic that really has a lot of depth.
The game looks and sounds good.
The only real problem is the lack of content: You have a Quick Race / Deathmatch and a challenge series. That's it. No story or championship or anything like that.
This really is a hidden ,,coin", not a hidden gem. It may not be worth the normal price, but on sale it's definetly worth picking it up, if you're a racing game fan.
First impression: well-designed tracks, driving is predicatably aracde but handles reasonably well, the heat system provides a challenge even when you're doing split-screen (which has no AI). Looks good, sounds nice, it's no 100-hour game, but no disappointment either.
After I played the demo on 360 and moderately-enjoyed it, I figured what the hell I'll pick this up during the Steam Summer Sale. I had been wanting to pick up a racing game, and this seemed to have an interesting mechanic. I really don't care for the podunk skew they seemed to throw onto it, and the handling feels very loose on a USB gamepad. (which unless you enjoy fish-tailing constantly in a racing game and not being able to make accurate turns, is not a good thing..) The graphics are average and the music, although it has some cool licensed tracks, seems to repeat the same 3 or 4 songs every race. What else is there to say? It's a shitty racing game. Don't buy it.
Bah, I really wish there was a mixed review option. This game isn't bad, but it's not somthing I'll probably go back to again. Although I like the cast of characters and the track design is neat, the handling is the slighest bit off to feel discomforting and the entire gimmick the game is based off of does not really carry the game that far.
I don’t know if I should give this game a THUMP UP or DOWN. ;( I have mixed feelings about this game, maybe because I am totally in love with this Rock 'n' Roll / Bikerstyle. Anyways here are the most important facts in my eyes:
First of all a WARNING:
You can play this game just in Singleplayer OR you host a game local with a friend. When I played it local with a friend the game hasn’t filled the other slots with bots so this seems to be bugged. Multiplayer online isn’t possible because there are no servers and the developers aren’t doing anything since the release in the year 2012.
So for the Multiplayer there are just 1/10 points (because you can only play local and this is also bugged lol).
Whoever still is interessted in the game here are the main facts:
• Genre: Racing game
• Music: Rock 'n' Roll ♥ Great tracks! I really love and enjoy them. 10/10
• Graphic: Not perfect but really beautiful with great details. 8/10
• Characters: You can choose a typical biker, a nerd, a tattooed woman and many more. 10/10
• Vehicles: Many different vehicles with different aspects but no special weapons (besides the fireboost which is standard for every vehicle). 7/10
Fireboost:
You can just kill enemies with bouncing them from a bridge, cliff or whatever OR you KILL THEM WITH THE FIREBOOST! The fireboost is normaly to get faster but you are also able to burn the other vehicles with the flames. You should just take care that your vehicle don’t gets too hot (if it’s too hot you burn yourself to death). So always look around for water which cools you down and whatever you do DON’T DRIVE THROUGH THE RED BARRELS. ;p
Price:
The original price is 9,99 € (valuta calculator says about 13,61 $) and this price – to my mind - is just justified with a mulitplayer server and support / updates / bugfixes. For a game in graveyard the price is even with this cool bikerstyle way too high… so 0/10 points.

The game isn’t bad it’s just bad that the developers have given up. I can just advise to buy this game if it’s really cheap (on sale, coupon) + if you are in love with racing games & rock 'n' roll.
If you're looking for excitement and suspense around every corner then this is the game to play. I love how graphic everything is and the water and scenery are very realistic. I personally, like to cause as much destruction as possible while racing so this is perfect for me. You can choose to play on your own and battle challenges to get unlocks such as better cars or you can play multiplayer and have fun that way. I would definitely recommend this game and I have thoroughly enjoyed playing it and always go back for more.
Fireburst is actually one of the few destructive racing games that I really enjoy. All the other bad things people are saying about this (besides the multiplayer) are either lies or they aren't happening to me. My overall rating for this is 8.5 because besides the multiplayer, the game is so much fun. The way you scorch your enemies is so satisfying and epic. If you have a slow computer, the launcher for this game is great. You can either have high graphics, or high performence, or even a medium. I do recommend this to anyone who likes destructive car games, or just destructive stuff in general :)
This game has the potential to be a great game but a few deficiencies result in it just being a quite good game. Each car has a fireboost power which speeds up your car and damages opponents however it generates heat which can cause your car to explode. Your car can be cooled down by driving through water which makes for great gameplay. Both the choice of driver and car affects the stats. The challenge mode introduces variations into the gameplay and is great fun however it is far too short. The other fly in the ointment is the splitscreen mode. In splitscreen mode there is just the two of you and no option to add AI drivers. So this game has great visuals, good sound track, great gameplay but is spoiled by a short single player mode and the lack of AI in splitscreen. I suspect the online multiplayer would be very good if you like playing with strangers on the net. Another oddity of this game is that reconfiguring the buttons requires you to edit a .ini file using a text editor.
This is actually a surprisingly good game. The track design is very nice. There's an array of cars and drivers, which you select separately. Each car and driver has their own stats, and they add together for some customization. Each car has a different paint-job depending on the driver as well.
The game's main gimmick is heat. There's a strong risk-vs-reward element, and it's all about managing heat. When your car overheats, it blows up. When you use boost, your heat gauge rises. As you boost you also cause one of a few flame effects, depending on your car. Some cars leave a trail of flame when boosting, some have a ring of fire, etc. These are your weapons, since any opponents caught in your flames take on more heat themselves.
Any water on the track will cool you down if you drive through it, be it blue water barrels, puddles, waterfalls, or skimming the surf.
No idea how well multiplayer works, haven't seen anyone online to try it with.
I can see this becoming a sleeper hit.
Fireburst is a competent racing game that doesn't really add anything new to the genre, but hey it's a racing game and for that reason alone it is probably of interest to racing or action minded gamers. The Steam Overlay and widescreen modes work, and controller support is included by default. Overall the game does not try to do anything new, the flame-on ability of your car essentially allowing insta-kill collisions doesn't really add anything exciting to the mix. However the level design is competent and there are a variety of characters and cars to choose from, and given the bargain price this game should be considered before purchasing a full price racing title. In summary, the game is slightly better than Post Apocalyptic Mayhem, but not quite as good as the Flatout series, so I recommend it only for the racing afficianado who has to have his hands on something new.
