Hey guys, is this game abandoned?

Ronimo Games tried emulating TF2 but forgot that you have to actually have at least 1 person still in charge of making sure there are still 2 people playing the game. Game democracy has failed us, by letting a game with decently fun gameplay to die, just because there wasn't as much money flowing in as some yacht collector wanted.

Game is a 7/10 but it's dead so playing it is like saying you'd date a woman who died of the plague in the 14th century, that ship has sailed.

I played this game waay back in . it was so much fun 2D moba . had platforming overall total chaos.
Found out it is on steam. i guess since they changed everything since i played it as a kid. i got faced with tons of achivement level unlocks etc. so it is great of devs to not forget old players. and it was still as fun as it was when i was a kid.

This game used to be fun but Atari rolling back the previous version with major balance issues, your progress reset, and just leaving it completely umoderated is a breeding ground for toxic players who snowball and make every game completely devoid of fun.

If they somehow bring back at least the latest version I may revisit, but right now this game is miserable.

Honestly an amazing game, love that Atari has roll'd back the updates to make it playable again.

Unfortunately almost everyone you meet is a sweat who's no-lifed this game since 2012 who will cry and whinge if you don't play at pro gamer levels.

There are lots of sweet, lovely people, but also a lot of toxic adults who never grew out of their mean kid phase.

One of my fave games and one of the few mobas I like, but this does come with a big warning. For some reason this game has attracted some of the saddest, basement dwellers that think being a god at this game is the best thing on earth. In short, it has an incredibly toxic player base. Of 10 recent games, only 2 had people that weren't intentionally being annoying af.

In short, game is super fun, playerbase is very hit or miss.

Just play.

I once enjoyed this game, but now its community is small and toxic. Experienced players dominate matchmaking while bots provide no challenge, making it frustrating for new and returning players. The balance, updates, and character content have declined significantly. It's not worth the time or money.

Great game, however if you are new I would wait until ranked matchmaking is live again.

I played the version on the ps3 first and even with the current reversion its still a killer game. You will not be able to play every character due to some being behind old dlc that isn't available but the selection is still better than the ps3 version. I wouldn't recommend looking for keys for those old dlc characters because it will be a crap-shoot whether or not the key will even work. Since it is a free game it is absolutely worth playing especially if you have friends.

Game was really fun about 10 years ago, and I'm glad it's back to being playable, but there are only about 100 people who play this now and they're all really good and will mock you for being worse than them.

I love this game, it's a great game, I've wanted it to come back, and I'm glad it's back. The community is so toxic it puts League to shame at times. Plus, the old addition of leveling made the game even more prone to snowballing.

It's quick to learn and lots of fun and unique characters and maps. It's everything good about League of Legends with 69% less toxicity and you don't need to dedicate so much of your time to figure out the game.

This game used to be incredible, however with such a small, isolated community comes toxic players.

This game is unapproachable for new and returning players, as the bots do not offer a significant challenge and matchmaking lobbies are filled with players who have simply been playing the game longer than you. There is no skilled matchmaking, so picking up and learning this game is just not worth the mental effort.

Sadly, Atari won't be able to revive a game reliant on its online, when new player hostility is this bad.

I played this when it originally came out. Have a whole bunch of fun achievements from that time. Spent money on supporting the community.

So, no - don't support this game. Don't support this community. Don't return to this kind of garbage and the people who want to foster it. The game isn't worth it -- it never really was but what a shame to lure people back into such a toxic, vile community.

I'm so happy they brought this game back. I know it says I have 1700 hours in this game, but that's not actually true--I played hundreds of hours on PS3 before this game even launched on PC. I've also played Lol, DotA, Smite, HotS... if you can think of a MOBA, I probably at least tried it, and a few of those a sank hundreds of hours into.

Awesomenauts tops all of them. It's just better.

If you want to be able to compete against another team using complex mechanics and teamwork to conquer your enemies in a 1980's Saturday-morning cartoon-inspired universe, this right here is your jam.

If you don't want that, then we can't be friends. Maybe you'd rather have some oat bran to watch or a hoop and stick you could play with. You might prefer watching paint dry.

If you want to play a game that is super duper fun and occasionally also super frustrating, look no further.

Loved this game when it was alive. Let's see what they can do with the revival.

- Right click Awesomenauts in your steam library.
- Click "Properties..." at the bottom.
- Go to the "Betas" tab.
- Next to "Beta Participation", select "3.2.8 Steam matchmaking edition"
- This version of the game should download and you will be able to play.

Notable differences:
- No global chat.
- Some skins carry over.

I miss this game.

Played this game alot some years ago. Wanted to experience the joy it gave me just to find out that the servers are down.
Great game and concept. Shame it stopped.

Same feeling for the game "Loadout". Damn i miss my classic games. Shame that AI/bot game isn't possible tho.

when they made it free to play that marked the beginning of the end. thats when i knew this game wasnt doing too hot. very charming, but it hasn't been fun since like 2018

GAME IS DEAD

I played this game in early Beta, and fell absolutely in love with it! When the game got shelved I was so heartbroken about the whole thing, never in my wildest dreams did I think I could play again. Then lo and behold I discovered the game is still playable online! There are still people playing it, and it's not that hard to get a full lobby of randoms. Also helps that you can get into a Discord server and set up matches pretty easily. What a time to be an Awesomenaut!!

Always thankful I played this instead of League when I was younger.

With the talks of deadlock going around and stuff, I was reminded of this childhood favorite and went back to see if it was still kicking. Unfortunately, it's not. Turns out the devs behind it went bankrupt last year and the official servers are down.
The game is still playable online through an old build of the game in the beta tabs, an old build that goes back to 2016. Fan discords and third party que systems are in place to make matches possible. It's just such a shame that theres so much content that was put in the game that isn't at all available anymore. I'm leaving a positive review as a nod of appreciation to the community who still continue to keep it alive but its a real gut punch to find out about everything this way.
